161  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: When is the right time to sell on: May 03, 2024, 11:53:05 PM
Personally, I believe say there is no perfect time for selling, No time dey perfect because it has to do with subjectivity or perception about the market or your needs.

My perfect time no fit be your own perfect time and your own no fit be my own, na so E just be. Most people go say na when you reach your expected profit while sometimes person no dey even reach him own expected profit, so if you hit at least an additional profit to your capital I believe say e dey durable to take profit. Weytin we dey talk about na money and for sure e no dey do person even if you see 1k profit today you go believe say the market fit double come make you 2k again tomorrow that's why I say it's subjective.

Dem say another man food na another man poison, your sell time and my own no fit be the same. So I go advise you say once you don hit profit whether e dey satisfiable or not in order not to loss totally you go better take the little you don see. Half bread is better than none na here e dey apply well, you rather manage the little than no see any one at all. The volatility of the market no be small thing.
162  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginning an adventure to learn about Bitcoin on: May 03, 2024, 11:17:41 PM
Here are my questions -
  • As a newbie, should I focus solely on Bitcoin, or should I also acquire basic knowledge of altcoins?
  • Is Bitcoin gender specific ?(is it meant for a specific gender?)
  • Ultimately no knowledge is a waste which ever knowledge you acquire it will be of help to you but the truth is for the fact that you're here on bitcointalk forum you're likely to learn about bitcoin the most maybe altcoins are going to be extras that you will get along the line.

The say focus is the distance between you and your desire perhaps it's left for you to decide what you want, if you wish to go for bitcoin knowledge then you go for it. There are areas where you can learn the basics of bitcoin even till date I'm still reading from those sources so you have to focus on acquiring the basic bitcoin knowledge and the rest will be added to it. Just as you were told in your last post, bitcoin is the root of all other cryptocurrency so it's the first that you must consider to know before knowing others.
  • No buddy! Bitcoin can not be gender limited. Infact bitcoin has no limitations. Which equally means that anyone whether big or small, male or female has the ability to learn, know or own bitcoin. Bitcoin is another form of money, an alternative to cash or government (centralised) money hence anyone can have money. Money is not gender limited so bitcoin isn't gender specific as you put it.
One thing you must know is that men are always in front chasing the bag so you are likely to see a specific gender more than others but that doesn't mean that the other gender isn't here even in the forum we have both gender but the male are more.
163  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Another attempt to discourage cryptocurrency adoption. on: May 02, 2024, 07:53:11 PM
If we all keep up with the decisions and actions of our government surely you will get pissed up with what is happening in the country.

The actions of the government is always on the wrong track because they aren't focusing on the problem which is they their selves. If they start tackling the real issue surely there will be debit in the pockets instead of their usual credits. Actually from the onset I have seen that what the government is doing is covering their actions or sins with putting the blames on the masses, although it's not unusual because even other countries especially corrupt once always use their citizens to cover their stupid actions and Nigeria is leading those countries.

Chasing shadows.... Now that fintechs are banning accounts with crypto related transactions what happens when we do transactions without description? I just know that in everything they is a shadow party somewhere. Someone some where is celebrating the actions it's to the benefits of this same cartels responsible for decision of the country.
164  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Finally we have a localboard moderator on: May 02, 2024, 05:24:49 PM
That's a good one! At least now @Igebotz isn't going to be doing the job as a voluntary work but now a call of duty.

I can see a lot of work already here in the local board as he has locked threads that he finds useless or not really necessary in the local board it's a good one I must admit. Perhaps he's now sweeping sweeping and mopping the floor to put us high on the table.

Well that's not all, we still need a little more 🫣 I believe everyone knows what I'm talking about. Once again congratulations to Nigeria (Naija)
165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In order to reach your target, don't rush! on: May 02, 2024, 11:31:31 AM

Perhaps you're correct, but let's also think rationally.

How about this phrase "Desperate times calls for desperate measures" ? Don't you think it applies too? For instance you got a lot of demand but the demand is measurable to an extent which means you can order or buy for the exact quantity you need as if waited for some little more time you could loss more. But the only disadvantage here is cost effect. I also think you one can take the risk and buy.

Let's apply this to the crypto market for someone like me who's holding and not trade, I believe in times where your income is not stipulated or solidify hence you receive a payment that you might use for other important stuff if you wait for an additional time to buy but if you buy even with the cost effect it will save you from not buying at all. So I think rationale should be put into considerations too, discount is good but when you have to buy in order not to loss everything then you should take the risk. I know the crypto market is quite different from real life market but it's more similar.

Let's discuss
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: April 30, 2024, 03:01:25 PM
There is what we call micro aggression, it stays in our unconscious state of mind and it could be triggered if one experiences any kind of loss and that is one big reason why most addicts or ordinary people that gamble when they loss they tend to transfer aggression on people who are not the cause.

I have witnessed a gambler fight the manager of a local bet shop (not necessarily a casino) as response to his stimulus, I'm always very careful with people who loss not just in gambling but anything in life. Psychologically every human has a micro anger in them but it's ones responsibility to manage and/or control them, if you can do that then no matter your loses you will never go into fight with anyone.

Well, I think it depends on the individuals character, there are gamblers who would miss winning a huge sum of money but won't transfer aggression to their spouse or family also there are others who are too quick to anger and would pick offense at every slightest provocation, no when they lose a huge sum of money they could transfer aggression to their wife and kids and even carry out domestic violence on their spouse most times.

it depends on an individuals personality, some people could barely control their anger and would always transfer aggression even while they're at fault, it's not like gambling led them to treat people that way, but it's just their personality and they use their lose from gambling as an opportunity to hurt people, also I put it to you that their are still people who barely lose often but are still prone to anger, therefore I think it all depends on the individuals personality.
Perhaps you're correct and I also mentioned it above that it's the ability to control this micro aggression that makes aot of seems responsible to some extent. It's not just an individual thing but it's a scientifically researched result what humans have a mini aggression in them but it from ones childhood that such attributes are put to control by parents.

Perhaps, a lot of people do not know how to handle anger or issues which makes them attack whatever that stands in front of them, be it family, friends etc that is why anger management is a big discussion in every sectors hence it builds and also ruins people's life's. All we have to do is try as much as possible to learn the best of them all on how much control our anger even if there is a trigger to it.
167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does it mean the poor can't breath anymore? on: April 30, 2024, 02:49:50 PM
Even if one happens to go check your post history there would be lot lapse and mistake on your profile which would contain lot of shit-post and you started from a step before what so called rank you have achieved currently that is ringing your f**king brain as  if you are superior to everyone. My dear you gat f**k down your anus and give people space to understand forum gradually with the way they think is best for them
Re-read the few lines that I ruled out, how does that sound to you ?! Huh? You want people not to attack you when you already attack yourself? Bro you gotta take chill pill from all this because you already contradicted your content by using hate words which is your advocate below.
Correct without hate words, learn without getting offense and speak with love. By so doing everyone would be welcomed to the community!
Thank you all.
I will only let you know that the forum has some prerequisites that one must follow and when you begin to step out side the box and you're corrected because of the Ego in you, you will interpret it as an insult to your personality. Perhaps your educational qualification doesn't apply here, your social status doesn't apply, you class doesn't apply here so you gotta be humble and take words likely because it doesn't remove an hair on your skin.

A lot of legendary members of the forum love genuine contributions not people with so much pride of nothing. I think you have provoked some users with this post already. In the meta board some newbie or member rank also created a thread complaining the same thing as yours and do you know that repeating of this same content pisses some people up? I guess No!

Don't mind my ranks as a full member I'm also a newbie like you. A lot of newbies don't take as advises from people like me because of the rank sentiment I don't know about you but I will only advise you to relax and enjoy the process it's more like a rite of passage, you have to go through all this to belong here. Grow a tough skin as Mia Chloe said above.
168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2v1 MMA fight? on: April 30, 2024, 12:20:17 PM
I think I love to see this type of fight in sportbooks because it will definitely give a huge win   Wink

But what I don't know is the possibility of seeing it, it been popular as 1v1 is the regular and most common. But with the hypes it could get a little attention.

Before such a fight would be acceptable it means the single guy or fighter most be a strong fighter will potential of withstanding two fighters if not he will get the worst beating of his life time.

I think I enjoyed the video on the link, the two guys are weaklings  Grin not a single defence all they did was to fall into fight with their last strength. Hilarious!
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: April 30, 2024, 11:20:12 AM
Addicted gamblers always have transgression of anger so with that it is possible that he can have a domestic violent with either his wife, friends and other members in the gambling centers. Mostly when he loss big amount of money in online gambling then he will use that anger to quarrel with any come across him at that moment. And in most cases though not all, addicted gamblers are also in drugs.
And those who are gambling and also taking drugs see themselves fighting unnecessary fights with people unknowingly.

In the issue of can gambling and drug addicts it seems to me that in characteristics of a drug addicts is gambling addiction, it more like the go together or intertwine. You rarely see a drug addict who is not a gambler and you rarely see a gambling addict who is not a drug addict it's just confusing characteristics. Anyways the rules in casinos are against fighting so here in my locals if you fight you got to jail simple but sometimes it doesn't work because the police are biased in their call of duty.
170  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: If you want to scam an African man put it in the terms and condition on: April 30, 2024, 10:53:27 AM
~Snip~
Perhaps this percentage which you gave here is an old statistics, I think it's not longer correct as the educational system of Africa has increased and thus such notion has changed a bit, a whole of us now read terms and conditions before taking any actions.

Back then in the olds it's very much easy to scam and African using writing because we don't do writing much as the western world but now I think we do it more than they do now because the effect of colonialism has drastically affected our perspective of education and enlightenment.

It's also true that a lot don't read terms and conditions but let's not make it a po und like it's only Africans, in the world most people just like to skip that part of agreement. Basically I don't read it that much too but when it's necessary and has to do with money Africans/Nigerians are always very careful.
Additionally, it's very important for us to read terms and conditions because it will save us from a whole lot of stress, especially in terms of acquisition.
171  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: What has the FCCPC achieved? on: April 30, 2024, 10:26:03 AM
I don't know what lens you all view the country from but from my own point every single decision and actions that has to do with the Federal government of Nigeria is not a mere decision like other countries, it's all a manipulative decision, in one way or the other it's an action that will favour those who are in charge of the means of production and distribution of the country.

FCCPC from a clear perception has not really achieved any tangible thing since they began their actions in the capital state but believe it or not it's a manipulation that has made the right actions not to take place, the corruption is rooted deeply that no single staff among the FCCPC who is not interested in bribe, if they take the action in three places, the forth will be skipped either because they have settled the illegal way which we know.

Additionally, I don't know why y'all keep getting upset with the way the economy is going when we all know the the politics of Nigeria is being played to favour some people only, which is also a key factor that has made the FCCPC actions not to show because it's just a means of distraction that was strategized to remove our attention from the governing body. They try to make every thing seem not their fault but the poor masses fault, in the terms of one great philosopher this country and it's economy is in a state of crinkum-crankum. They twist every single thing that happens in the country but instead of building the economy to stability they rather die than do it.

One thing we don't perceive from a political sense is that it will require almost 80% of all the stolen national budget money to build the country back to stability which means that all politicians who stolen from the country will have to remit 80% of their self acclaimed wealth back to the economy and debts will be settled things will flow in the right sense and this will not happen because no man on earth will surrender what they have stolen from the poor masses this is where the action that was took in Ghana will have to take place in Nigeria to clean the mess.

In the end I will just have to let the country and it's economy be till when the due time is come then actions will take place against the cartels and calibers of people who derive joy the suffering of the masses.
172  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My introductory post on Bitcointalk on: April 30, 2024, 09:09:12 AM
Good day, everyone.

I recently joined the Bitcointalk platform a few days ago and have been enjoying my stay so far due to the numerous posts and ideas shared by thousands of knowledgeable individuals. To me, there is a better feeling when reading through people's text rather than yours.
Welcome to bitcointalk forum!

I've been working under someone for a while now, but I feel the need to have another source of financial independence. Not sure where to start, but cryptocurrency happens to be at the top of my research.
Perhaps cryptocurrency happens to be one of the frequently suggested way of achieving financial freedom but the is a wide range to that. There are so many ways people achieve this, some either through trading, some through buying bitcoin and other top altcoins and holding till it gives the desired profit and many other ways.

Perhaps you will have to find out which you're of interest the most.

During my further research, I came across Bitcointalk, which turned out to be a discussion website for Bitcoin related matters.
Bitcointalk forum is one of the most influential and traffic ground for bitcoin and/or crypto related discussions. I'm not sure what area you are looking at in the forum but from above it seems you're much more interested in the money making from the forum, which is not necessarily bad but it's better to focus on knowledge acquisition hence it could profit you at the end. Bitcointalk forum also has a way which people make money from, e.g participating in signature campaigns, Offering of services like graphics, web development etc the forum also has bounty campaigns which is not too profiting nowadays but it's also a way of making income in the forum. You can do more research on the above mentioned to know more in details.

I'm still not too familiar with how things work here, but I've read several rules and regulations for beginners. One of them happens to be an optional introductory post, which I just did. I've also learned about how the merits system works, the Trust list, General thread, etc. I don't know if there are any other hidden ones.
Perhaps you have read the essentials of the forum, you will have to learn the unofficial rules or things that are frown upon in the forum along the line during your stay. You can also look at this board there are several pinned threads it also contains important things which you need to know. Aside this I will advise you not to use (AI) artificial intelligence to post on the forum it's highly prohibited.

In my research to learn more about cryptocurrency and from the discussions I have come across on this platform, I noticed that Bitcoin happens to be the center of focus. No matter the crypto we are talking about, it is somehow traced back to Bitcoin. Is it because Bitcoin's price is more massive?.
Yes, bitcoin happens to the first and father of every other cryptocurrency you see out there. They are all alternatives to bitcoin which means they are just there to take some space in the industry where bitcoin might not necessarily be because of it's potential. Bitcoin is the most expensive, important, and influential cryptocurrency every other cryptocurrencies (altcoins and shitcoins) depends on it for there price movement. It's more like the backbone of all cryptocurrency.

What happens when I make a similar post or ask a question that I probably couldn't find earlier but has been on the forum?.
Perhaps, most people only gwt pissed that some questions are frequently repeated aside that there is absolutely nothing wrong in asking questions as long as they are genuine questions.

In addition, how do give answers to several people without making single reply each ?. I think it's more organize.
If this has to do with a particular thread, then the quote button is the right spot to reply each person in one single post.

You also have the option of "insert post" while replying to another person's post which makes it more easier for you to do at once.
below is a screenshot

I really hope to keep learning from everyone, as I believe that no knowledge is wasted. I would appreciate answers to those questions with question marks, and I will also ask questions frequently.  Huh
it's a pleasure to keep responding to the needs of others hence answering you wouldn't be a problem after all that's why we are here!

I'm not sure if my writing meets the standard here, which I hope it does.
The standards are subjective, so it's up to whomever to judge from there perspective.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: April 29, 2024, 10:47:30 PM
For me I don't think I can conclude whether the elderly ones gamble more in my locality or the younger ones. Whatever we see is just subjective and biased which makes it inaccurate for real.

We can only say one or the other gambles more if we take a statistical data analysis to draw a perfect conclusion using scientific methods but from a mere observation which might be correct it not I can say the young ones (youth) gamble more, but sometimes I doubt myself because I feel like I'm being partial because of some respect which I have for elders even I see that they are gambling I don't really consider it because they are old and my subjectivity doesn't accept it.

In my old environment I see elders play draft every day from morning to late night but whet I don't know is they do stake anything like cash as reward for winners but the habit shows that old people of that specific environment gambles more than the youth.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: April 29, 2024, 10:39:30 PM
I don't think I have been an addict on gambling hence lie to cover up the habit before but I have seen lots of people lie because they are either addicted to it or they just want to cover up for their bad acts of either neglecting something important just to remain focused on gambling.

Some time ago, I was with one of my homies and he was busy predicting sport games that we all felt might be interesting enough to gamble on then we remembered we had something more important than gambling to do, we all left and focused on our businesses but this dude kept his phone beside him and later he took it and continued gambling playing different games when we were all deep into our works, we realised and asked him if he was working or following up the work and he responded yesterday but at the end we discovered he never open the work, he only opened the app and continued with the gambling.

I have seen other niggas lie to parents, siblings, wives etc to cover their gambling habits which is very poor.

176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don’t like the term “crypto” on: April 29, 2024, 10:09:26 PM
The fact that bitcoin is crypto is one big deal that a lot of people do not like as the world crypto has been associated with crime which is subjective, based on how you perceived it.

Consequently, bitcoin is crypto and that can not be changed. It's just like the word "Money" it's the general name for all currency but your country's currency is different but still falls under money, using my country's currency naira; let's say it's so decent and best currency in the world but it's money and that can not be separated from it so no matter how good my currency is it's still called money. Hence bitcoin and crypto are intertwined one can be used in place of the other but the other can not be used in place of the other. Bitcoin is crypto but crypto is not only bitcoin it includes other altcoins and/or shitcoins.
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: April 29, 2024, 09:46:00 PM
I know for sure that I can be in such situations but for the fact that it's an assumption I will definitely try my best to bring back the trust.

Perhaps I find myself in such situations where trust has been lost, the only way back to my parents heart is to do what they ever wished for no matter how much it costs me. I will have to pay the sacrifice in order to remain trusted but if eventually this trust can not be brought back then I will forget about it and stay in my lane. Perhaps with the level of seriousness that they will see in me might turn their hearts.

I believe in one thing which is to let go what is lost, instead of me to kill myself along the line trying to impress or buy a favour or bring back a lost trust, I will rather forget about it. Something's are not worth dying for, their trust will not add another year to my life as long as I have apologised and feel remorseful for my inhumane actions I will let go of their trust.
178  Economy / Economics / Re: Surviving in this economy needs a new minds set on: April 28, 2024, 11:19:28 PM
Sounds more like a rephrase of our everyday discussion in the board. It's absolutely true that coping in an inflated nation requires a renewed mindset, perhaps investing in bitcoin is another hedge to inflation as the volatility of bitcoin is also a means of making profit.

For someone who is capable of understanding the crypto space it's more advisable to invest early as the world economic shows no sign of betterment over the years. I believe investing bitcoin, real estate and other stuffs like stock is a practical way to help ones life in situations like this.

At the end the theme of the post is "invest in bitcoin" in order to be above the economical crisis in the world.
179  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it advisable for a beginner to invest in a newly launch project? on: April 28, 2024, 10:33:49 PM
Firstly, Op you should try to use tools like grammarly to correct some common errors in spellings.

It's more advisable to stay away from newly launched projects especially when you're new to the system but perhaps if one is well acquainted with the basic knowledge then they can wager around chasing profit maybe they could get favoured.

Most of the projects that are being created nowadays are mostly scam and/or pump and dump coins that get hypes from shillers in order to look more authentic but at the end investors who are naive gets to loss into their hands which is a major reason why we only advise newbies like me to only take part in projects that are solid already like bitcoin.

Additionally, if a newbie wants to take part in a new project then it's absolutely on him or her to manage the consequences and/or reward which equally means that such risk could go positively or negatively hence it's to the fate of the investor.
180  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will communism ever be realized? on: April 28, 2024, 11:33:32 AM
Capitalism is best for the world and that has proven itself over the years where countries with capitalist states grows more economical than others.
Capitalism has its own advantages but let us not forget how badly can capitalism affect the world as well. It has made ways for different kinds of exploitation where only the rich benefits from.

Not to mention the huge impact it has on our environment. We should find the balance between utilizing capitalism and its consequences.
perhaps the status quo rich people only exploit our weaknesses but it's still vital that the social strata remains the same but we should only urge them to threat the masses nicely and by that we can say it's fair enough.

There is no perfect thing in life not a way of life that is perfect so capitalism has its flaws too but at least it's around for more for the struggle class to level up and I believe it's a motivating opportunity for people to be active in every industry as meeting up with the next class is always a difficult task.

The impact of the status quo rich people is now corrupt but that doesn't still disrupt the initial purpose of capitalism.
