I realized by myself how important physical fitness is for a person. I have realized since long time that my body weight is increasing day by day I was not so conscious about fitness. But due to my weight increasing day by day I felt restless and various problems were arising so I joined a gym near my house. I have been joining the gym for three months now and I never thought I could change my physical fitness so quickly. But all my food has to follow above the gym food list. But I now understand how important a person's physical fitness is, every person should look after their own physical fitness. Especially we should avoid taking any healthy food such as fast food, sweets, etc. All these foods add a lot of weight to our body. So we must change the food menu and focus on our physical fitness.
In as much as exercise is essential to the body food is also much essential to the body also, the body system really needs food expecially proteinous food because what we are doing here (exercise) is not an easy one so telling us to avoid talking healthy food is wrong.

Exactly, our body do not only need food but good food in that matter the one that won't affect us during the push-up Becuase there are some food you will eat like you can't do what you use to do before at that particular time. However, this push-up won't only keep us fit but it is also therapeutic in nature. My problem now is that my country economy is so bad I don't know how i will continue to do this push-up cause I will need to eat well (consuming more than I use to...) after the push-up and I see that as one of the disadvantage of this push-up

I having being doing push up without taking record for years now but cause of this thread I started keeping record from Last week Friday and below is my record though am yet to finish today's own.

Starting out pretty BIG for a newbie.. and supposedly an "already in-shape pusher up."



Thanks boss. Just like i said earlier i use to do it before but wasn't taking record so it's like part of me i don't feel pains just that am always hungry whenever I am done with the push-up but those small sickness i use to experience before I don't feel or see them again that's one of the advantage.

Octopus is really fucking good if made well.

I was going to mention the mercury issue.. and so sometimes smaller fish can be good, such as sardines.. .. but yeah mercury could be an issue and I am not sure how much selenium's ability to off-0set the mercury absorption might be a possible solution that allows for some additional eating of some kinds of predatory fish..

As I have been talking with JJG about health stuff and supplements and so on, this is again an important discussion to have.

@philipma1957 in general I think your choices make total sense and good to see you are not one of these people who wrongfully ban fats because they think it is the way to become thinner or healthier. Fats are particularly important for bodies and minds to function on a hormonal level. It should be good fats though! Wink

But when you guys are talking about Tuna and mercury, I think the trade-off should never be to buy cheap meat instead because that is full of all kinds of medication. Or Salmon can be a problem too, when it comes from factory farming. There are some very scary reports and documentaries. These things look like aliens because they catch parasites and are pumped with the wildest medication, too. If it is wild Salmon, it is probably the best someone can consume in all regards.

And very high quality meat - almost regardless what kind - is probably not very affordable for a lot of people.

There are always trade-offs in nutrition and I think people should be aware of the consequences of overweight, for instance. There are fat people who say they don't drink zero sugar beverages because of Aspartame. But that is nonsene when you study any of the relevant research as overweight is by far one of the most dangerous conditions someone can be in. Then better have zero sugar beverages with Aspartame and tons of Tuna and you are very likely far better off than being overweight.

So I think being careful with problems like mercury is great and proves someone knows what's (sadly) going on in the sea. But at the same time it is important that the understanding in nutrition is holistic.

To give you an interesting example: the IARC categorizes all kinds of chemicals or nutrition or even activities in regards to causing cancer (see here). Aspartame was categorized 2B at an intake of about 42 cans daily for an 80kg human being. This means this dosage is "possibly carcinogenic to humans".

But guess what: working night shifts was classified 2A, meaning it is "probably carcinogenic to humans".  

I found this very interesting back then and started to study a lot of things around nutrition, including some papers on mercury in fish and so on. I just think it is very important for people to be able to put things into perspective. When they read the word "Aspartame", they go nuts as if this would lead to death in like no time. But as far as research can tell at this point in time, working night shifts is more dangerous. Ever heard somone cry out about night shifts the same way they cry out about Aspartame? Cheesy Sure, some hate their night shift, but not because they know the studies that it causes cancer. Wink

I think a general approach could be to make sure that you get more things right than you get wrong and optimize the ratio over time with education and conscious nutrition.

I think I starting working out again around Dec 2020.

But all light movement.

 23 minutes on a stationary cycle  3 times a day after each meal. plus exercise bands while I cycled

Just attach to the cycle bars .

I had got down to 185 pounds and was on good shape. I then did the hernia operation and stopped exercising for a long time. I gained almost 30 pounds. 215 or so. I am back to 195 and getting in shape. The stair climbing and light cycle work is a bit better than the  just lite cycle work.

I really like that this thread came along. I took a long break for my next surgery and am now getting back to it.

There is no alternative to exercise to keep your body healthy, so I am definitely trying to work on myself. I used to do all the exercises I could at home including push ups, but recently I joined the gym to keep my body more fit. Every day I spend two hours in the gym and my trainer has made me a certain routine and I try to stick to it. How much I run and how many push-ups I do in 2 hours is recorded in the routine. My gym trainer is also very conscious about food and he has been very strict with me that he won't train me under him if I don't follow his chart.  

I hope that I will be able to follow the rules and maintain my body by exercising according to the rules and regulations that he told me to exercise.

I do these push up work out silently and I feel that this is not enough since we can make our chest,shoulders and tricep looks great but I feel there's lacking since if we only do push up for long time then our tummy left behind that's why I also include some certain exercise that can lessen my belly fat and possible to get a abs on target months so hopefully we can succeed. Although I don't have any strict diet to follow but I'm trying to look forward to try low carb diet or one meal a day so that I can lose weight and get more better physique.

There's a lot of programs good to follow on youtube but looking forward in future if I have time to enroll in a gym, since I think I will be more serious if there's fitness coach will watch or monitor on the activities I've done.
Since push-up majorly build up our upper body, I added some lower body exercises such as the abs workout to help me make my stomach flat and strong, and leg workouts such as wall squat, squat, reverse lunge, and glute bridge to help build up my legs. Ever since I started these lower body exercises, my body has been more balanced and in good shape.

There are essential proteins and there are essential fats. There is no such thing as essential carbohydrates...

I am not sure why you are talking about "especially proteins" when there are fats that are essential, too.

So many times people like to ignore fats and/or to downplay them or to even think of them as bad or second class citizens.. since many of us are brained-washed by mainstream framing of these matters.. and therefore we only emphasize proteins and end up giving improper emphasis to at least two out of the three macro nutrients.. too much emphasis to protein and too little emphasis to the importance of fats.

Maybe you would like to share some of your pushup history, and how you got to be able to do 200 pushups per day on average, including how you are doing them currently in recent times as compared to how you had been doing them historically, and perhaps let us know more details in regards to how long you had been doing pushups in your routine and how you had been doing them in order to get up to a status of being able to do 200 pushups per day (on average).

I think that partly you are making the point in regards to what I had been trying to say earlier, in that there is some benefits to push beyond just cardio training (and even light exercise) and try to push some of your various exercises into resistance training rather than cardio.

One of the problems with overly emphasizing cardio is that if you do the cardio first, then you don't have any energy left to do the resistance training... so frequently it will be better to either start out with resistance training or to control the amount of cardio or warm up that you do prior to fitting in your resistance training so that you can make sure to get in resistance training on a fairly regular basis. .because even though the resistance training hurts, it is what you old foggies need (and yeah, I will include my self in your old-foggie group since I am not really that far behind you, you old fart).

Today was nice, since I am back caught up again in regards to my targeted average of pushups per day. .. so yeah, if any of us might miss some sets during a day or two or even longer, and the it can take a quite a bit of time and stress and focus to catch back up.. that is if it is even important to catchup.. and yeah the same question continues to linger about whether maybe having a lower average pushups per day target might be more healthy and sustainable.. .

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

@sotelorene I would advise you do your push ups challenge in a way that it'll not affect your health condition because your explanation here shows that due to bad economy of your country, after doing your push ups sometimes you use to find it difficult to eat healthy food, I really think you need to reduce your numbers of push ups since you can't eat good food, because although is very necessary for us after doing a huge numbers of push ups one really need to eat a healthy food to enable you to regain more strength to your body.

I have been joining the gym for three months now and I never thought I could change my physical fitness so quickly. But all my food has to follow above the gym food list. But I now understand how important a person's physical fitness is, every person should look after their own physical fitness. Especially we should avoid taking any healthy food such as fast food, sweets, etc. All these foods add a lot of weight to our body. So we must change the food menu and focus on our physical fitness.
In as much as exercise is essential to the body food is also much essential to the body also, the body system really needs food expecially proteinous food because what we are doing here (exercise) is not an easy one so telling us to avoid talking healthy food is wrong.


Exactly, our body do not only need food but good food in that matter the one that won't affect us during the push-up Becuase there are some food you will eat like you can't do what you use to do before at that particular time. However, this push-up won't only keep us fit but it is also therapeutic in nature. My problem now is that my country economy is so bad I don't know how i will continue to do this push-up cause I will need to eat well (consuming more than I use to...) after the push-up and I see that as one of the disadvantage of this push-up
@sotelorene I would advise you do your push ups challenge in a way that it'll not affect your health condition because your explanation here shows that due to bad economy of your country, after doing your push ups sometimes you use to find it difficult to eat healthy food, I really think you need to reduce your numbers of push ups since you can't eat good food, because although is very necessary for us after doing a huge numbers of push ups one really need to eat a healthy food to enable you to regain more strength to your body.

OMGosh how i love garlic.  How did you take it?  Raw chomp straight from the clove, roasted with butter and spread on bread, powdered pill form, or some other method?  Ginger i only like in Ginger Ale soda drinks and those ginger snap cookie things.  I don't appreciate ginger in other forms, like stir fry, but thats just me.

No, i'm just reading this topic from time to time and encourage all who are participating, its a fun concept and gets people sporting or gaining interest to do so bc of the push ups...  For myself doing a lot of sport and doing 100 push ups a day wouldn't be very useful...
But I do love the days when push ups are in the work out Smiley

Just hoping for those who are doing them push ups they do correct reps. Chest hits the floor and arm full extend when going op with a straight back.

Also keep up and getting the push ups all the way to 100K

There is no alternative to exercise to keep your body healthy, so I am definitely trying to work on myself. I used to do all the exercises I could at home including push ups, but recently I joined the gym to keep my body more fit. Every day I spend two hours in the gym and my trainer has made me a certain routine and I try to stick to it. How much I run and how many push-ups I do in 2 hours is recorded in the routine. My gym trainer is also very conscious about food and he has been very strict with me that he won't train me under him if I don't follow his chart.  

I hope that I will be able to follow the rules and maintain my body by exercising according to the rules and regulations that he told me to exercise.

I do these push up work out silently and I feel that this is not enough since we can make our chest,shoulders and tricep looks great but I feel there's lacking since if we only do push up for long time then our tummy left behind that's why I also include some certain exercise that can lessen my belly fat and possible to get a abs on target months so hopefully we can succeed. Although I don't have any strict diet to follow but I'm trying to look forward to try low carb diet or one meal a day so that I can lose weight and get more better physique.

There's a lot of programs good to follow on youtube but looking forward in future if I have time to enroll in a gym, since I think I will be more serious if there's fitness coach will watch or monitor on the activities I've done.
Since push-up majorly build up our upper body, I added some lower body exercises such as the abs workout to help me make my stomach flat and strong, and leg workouts such as wall squat, squat, reverse lunge, and glute bridge to help build up my legs. Ever since I started these lower body exercises, my body has been more balanced and in good shape.

Yeah that is actually the goal since it might be look awful to us if we focus only on upper body strength. That's why I think about adding some program to help better body shape.

then the next day is this for legs work out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMOaQEdkfEw I change my program or routine day by day so that I can give some time for my muscle to restore.
 
What good thing about the programs he presented is there's no equipment needed and we can do this exercise wherever we are.

To keep my body healthy and take care of my body I have shared with some friends about all the exercises including push ups and I never imagined that they would give me such positive feedback after sharing. Many of my friends expressed interest in joining the gym with me when I discussed with them about my regular gym routine. Seeing their interest, I discuss with them a lot about my body changes and they become more interested after seeing my changes and they tell me that they will join me in the gym as soon as possible. I will not only focus on my own fitness but I will also discuss this with my family members and make everyone aware of keeping fit. My plan is to take all the training from the trainer into myself and then build a gym and fitness training center myself so that I can train everyone there on how to maintain my fitness.

I did 33 push ups this morning because I didn't go out for gym today and I'm yet to complete my daily 100 push-ups as I split them into 3 times a day in order to reduce the level of energy I would put into it at once.

I realized by myself how important physical fitness is for a person. I have realized since long time that my body weight is increasing day by day I was not so conscious about fitness. But due to my weight increasing day by day I felt restless and various problems were arising so I joined a gym near my house. I have been joining the gym for three months now and I never thought I could change my physical fitness so quickly. But all my food has to follow above the gym food list. But I now understand how important a person's physical fitness is, every person should look after their own physical fitness. Especially we should avoid taking any healthy food such as fast food, sweets, etc. All these foods add a lot of weight to our body. So we must change the food menu and focus on our physical fitness.
In as much as exercise is essential to the body food is also much essential to the body also, the body system really needs food expecially proteinous food because what we are doing here (exercise) is not an easy one so telling us to avoid talking healthy food is wrong.

There are essential proteins and there are essential fats. There is no such thing as essential carbohydrates...

I am not sure why you are talking about "especially proteins" when there are fats that are essential, too.

So many times people like to ignore fats and/or to downplay them or to even think of them as bad or second class citizens.. since many of us are brained-washed by mainstream framing of these matters.. and therefore we only emphasize proteins and end up giving improper emphasis to at least two out of the three macro nutrients.. too much emphasis to protein and too little emphasis to the importance of fats.
One thing I have learnt over the years is that balancing whatever you do is best than take one in to account leaving the rest in a smaller quantity. Perhaps a lot of people only considered Protein to be more essential, while they ignore the other foods but now I have come to understand that every single category of food is as important as the others, low in one is equal to unhealthy. so in every thing we do we should try as much as possible to balance our foods are non is more important than the others.

Since push-up majorly build up our upper body, I added some lower body exercises such as the abs workout to help me make my stomach flat and strong, and leg workouts such as wall squat, squat, reverse lunge, and glute bridge to help build up my legs. Ever since I started these lower body exercises, my body has been more balanced and in good shape.
Apparently, since I do have some of my days in the gym during the week, I already do other body fitness exercises to keep fit and I can see your experience has shown your now in the process of balancing the body and not just taking the challenge of 100 push ups which is a good one. thumbs up.

I did 33 push ups this morning because I didn't go out for gym today and I'm yet to complete my daily 100 push-ups as I split them into 3 times a day in order to reduce the level of energy I would put into it at once.

So here is my report for today;

It is good and nice you have learnt from your previous report error, for nobody is born perfect we are all bound to make mistakes for we all imperfect human being but the good thing there is talking corrections after doing mistake and am glad you did.

I can see that it is hard for you to accept corrections; this is not the right thing to do in life. Since you are at fault for the choice of words you said to Cityhunter34 and everyone here, you should have accepted your mistake and moved on without saying more on this issue further, but I want you to know this will be the last time I will try to correct you on this thread whenever you are not doing the right thing based on this push-up challenge reporting format.

I having being doing push up without taking record for years now but cause of this thread I started keeping record from Last week Friday and below is my record though am yet to finish today's own.

Starting out pretty BIG for a newbie.. and supposedly an "already in-shape pusher up."

Thanks boss. Just like i said earlier i use to do it before but wasn't taking record so it's like part of me i don't feel pains just that am always hungry whenever I am done with the push-up but those small sickness i use to experience before I don't feel or see them again that's one of the advantage.

Maybe you would like to share some of your pushup history, and how you got to be able to do 200 pushups per day on average, including how you are doing them currently in recent times as compared to how you had been doing them historically, and perhaps let us know more details in regards to how long you had been doing pushups in your routine and how you had been doing them in order to get up to a status of being able to do 200 pushups per day (on average).

I agree with you @JayJuanGee because it will be more clarifying if he would share more details on how he managed to arrive on 200 puships per day because in other words he could be misunderstanding puships for other exercises and besides there are so many types of pushup perhaps he could be using Wall pushup that's why he was able to complete such number per day because we know that in all the classification of pushups, Wall pushups is actually one of the easiest to do, so getting to that number per day could be possible but however like you said it will be more understandable if he will be able to share some of his pushups history so that it will be more easy for us to know how he was able to do it.

I started this challenge 7 days ago and I did 10 push ups in the morning 10 in the afternoon and 10 in the evening.
For now I can't do 100 pushups a day I will be doing 30 since I'm a lady.
Spreading them and doing it throughout the day will be so helpful, when I start my arms were really in pain but now I have adapted.

I must say is not an easy one for me but I'm happy doing it that way, for a long time now I have not been to the gym so am talking this challenge very serious especially now that I know there are a lot of health benefits doing push ups everyday.

I have 12 steps to first floor from kitchen in second floor.






so I am still  discovering just how many steps / flights of stairs I can do.

I WENT to doctor  to check the operation healing so doctor was happy. But he saw me early so I decided to do one set at lunch vs 2 one at breakfast one at dinner.

SINCE I did just one set I did 240 steps up and down which is 20 flights of stairs up and down. IT is real cardio work. I COULD do more steps than 240 I am now past 8 minutes time. WANT TO ADD to steps and time.

I decided to try to do 1 set a day and get to 15-20 minutes

I did 276 steps or 23 flights of stairs today in 9 minutes and 2 seconds.

After dinner I will do relaxed cycle time with rubber band curls.

I work upper body and allow my legs a stretch exercise.

The dual stair workout was not allowing me recovery time

I did 288 steps 24 flights of stairs in 9 minutes and 58 seconds.

I think I am closing in on how many I can really do as today my left knee felt just a bit of pain after exercise.

After dinner I will do relaxed stationary cycle and pull the rubber bands for arm muscle .

So my knee felt some pain yesterday I was in a pair of shorts while working out so today I kept the AC off and the house was 86f or 30c

The knee had no pain. I pushed up to 11 minutes and 11 seconds  so 324 steps is 27 flight of stairs.

I am nearing top end of my breath control. ie I am panting like a mofo by the time I get to 9 minutes I do the last 2 minutes or so on will.

My legs are holding up.
The left knee was good with the hotter room.

I am in the 192 pound range. I was about 213 in April so say 20 pound weight loss.

A1C dropped from 6.3 to 5.3.
6.3 is decent for a type 2 diabetic  but 5.3 is solid number doctor is going to like that.

 I go to doctor on June 10 we will see how other numbers are.
