161  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Someone booked a hotel using bitcoin on: August 18, 2020, 10:01:04 AM
You can get fiat based (bitcoin loaded) VISA Debit cards, Coinbase do a really good trustworthy one. That way you can pay for EVERYTHING with crypto (via fiat).

https://www.coinbase.com/card

Exactly!!! You don't need to pay directly in crypto which might end up into a painful expenditure. Much better to top up using crypto and pay with fiat, that way even if in the future BTC or any other coin goes up you don't feel like an idiot having spent lots of money - not worth the risk or stress! Thus, I'd never pay directly via crypto, always looking for alternatives!
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone waiting for v2.0 but... on: August 17, 2020, 10:34:34 PM
I think that at first the technical challenges were not fully considered as upgrading the ETH system will take more than a few months specially when dealing with nodes and branches to lower the fees.  I suppose this delay also takes into account reduced man capacity due to the pandemic, and of course, this is something even Vitalik himself couldn't have seen coming.

As for the hype, well I think some of it is real and some just artificial though, I'd say overall ETH still remains undervalued. Is my view on this something other people view differently?
163  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚡ LOOT.BET — Made For Live Betting | Esports, Slots, Mini Games on: August 17, 2020, 11:23:43 AM
Hey guys and welcome to the forum. Congrats on getting a really good UI and a great look to the website with a large variety of games.

I've noticed though that quite a few countries have restricted jurisdiction and can't use the casino, is this something your looking into or considering expanding for the future? Also with regards to this there's nothing on the use of VPN so this may pose challenging with some of these restrictions and is something worth thinking about  Huh
164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best performing "old" coins on the market? on: August 17, 2020, 07:10:16 AM
Yet, I'm looking for the best performing old coins on the market right now that will serve as an ideal long-term investment.

Do you happen to know of the best performing old coins on the market? Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

It is hard to say which old altcoin is going to be the next big deal in this new bull run. Traditionally, all coins experience low and high cycles which means that all even alts will go through their dump and pump.

However, I do agree that some alts are much better than others and their recovery may lead to large profit if invested at the right time. One of the coins I think is hugely undervalued at the moment is ETH. There are so many more shitcoins all based on ETH that get the pump yet ETH hasn't done that great - I do think this is upcoming, so here you go.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Regulations in online Gambling sites on: August 16, 2020, 10:03:50 PM
I think 100 Eur is a really low limit but as an idea it is a good one.It is designed to stop people becoming addicted and losing everything in gambling.I am a strong advocate of limiting to a certain amount the maximum money you can spend in a gambling site as it safeguards you for going even deeper.I think major websites have such option but is optional to the player and not mandatory.

As you say major casinos have the option but it's up to the customer if they want to use it or not. While I understand the government would like to regulate this in some way capping the gambler in my opinion would lead to both unhappy casinos owners and gamblers as such. So much so that together they might even conspire against the regulation.

There's also the idea that gamblers would gamble at the casinos without this type of restriction since these casinos are online after all. I think the idea overall is OK but in practice I fear it won't do so well.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Novogratz and Dave Portnoy Say Buy Bitcoin and Not Gold on: August 16, 2020, 08:05:41 PM
Novogratz loves to make predictions which usually turn out to be wide of the mark - gotta love a Bitcoin bull but I wouldn't go 'all in' on any of his recommendations tbh.

Fair enough the guy is optimistic but we cannot deny the fact that we are currently (or for some arguably soon to be) in a bull run. And despite gold increasing to a new whole level most probably because the pandemic pushed the average Joes into to buying gold to maintain assets value not many people know about the digital currency era.

While this is a bad thing in turn it provides great potential for further adoption and thus edging the value of this growing sector. In other words, I agree with Mike and he is right in suggesting that buying crypto in the long term will be more beneficial than buying gold.
167  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Basic things that you need to know before starting in trading on: August 16, 2020, 06:25:33 PM
I agree that one of the few important factors to consider for becoming a successful trader are Entry, Exit and Stop-Loss. I can't argue with these at all but I also think that the right mindset for a waiting-game is just as crucial.

A strong opinion in risk taking is essential as you can see your investment going down but the key is to keep at it and trust (if you can trust the project) that market corrections are necessary and that one day the patience will lead to a reward. In most cases it does but in some others it doesn't.

In the end what matters is how you reacted in the process, what you did and what you learnt  Cool
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea and Australia, they are bitcoin pro on: August 16, 2020, 03:25:52 PM
South Korea and Australia has been bitcoin friendly since 2017, so there are no surprise here that they are moving and adopting blockchain to be integrated in their systems.

That's right, South Korea has been pro-crypto for several years now (i.e. since 2017) and it seems that matters are progressing fast.

Only several days ago S. Korea government has become one of the 1st countries in the world to pass a cryptocurrency law regarding frameworks for the crypto regulation and its exchanges to crack down on illegal activities while encouraging expansion of this type of digitalised finance.

169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy company adopts Bitcoin as primary treasury reserve asset. on: August 15, 2020, 09:24:24 PM
As a hedge against US dollar inflation, the worldwide leader in enterprise analytics and mobility software MicroStrategy company decided to sweep $250 million from its cash reserves into Bitcoin. The company announced today that it has purchased a total of 21,454 bitcoins.

MicroStrategy CEO confirmed that his company has made bitcoin the principal holding in its treasury reserve strategy.

This is a big move for MicroStrategy and a risky one too, though I can see how holding most of its treasure in BTC might be just as gambling as it would be with banks given their uncertainty due to the recession period.

Although there might be no link here, yet, interestingly, BTC seems to have started on a new uptrend - and quite possibly be touching 12k by the end of the day.

170  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trader made 89% profit in minutes. Have anyone experienced it..? on: August 15, 2020, 05:36:59 PM
This trader has made a profit of $40000, with the capital investment of $45000. This too is achieved using the stablecoins USDT and USDC. In between the trader has borrowed $40500 and with the swapping between exchanges has netted the profit of $40000 after paying a transaction fees of $2000.

First of all this guy starts with a large amount himself, he then tops that up with some more borrowing and technically takes advantage of the price disparity between USDC, ETH and USDT. In this process ETH showed an uptrend, so the guy got lucky as hell.

After this crazy bump and profit, he sold out ETH -> got USDT then back to -> USDC, payed off the loan and retained the remaining profit.

Overall, this shows strategy combined with a lot of risk by borrowing and starting big and also getting lucky. Not so reproducible after all.

171  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading without setting stop loss (Risky or Not)? on: August 15, 2020, 02:54:40 PM
Sometimes even in classical trading without leverage I consider stop-loss with moderate bandwidths on the lower side to prevent me selling prematurely. I don't always do this but whether I use the stop-loss feature depends on the market volatility of that coin.

Now, given that you been trading on leverage and without a stop loss the fact that you managed to make profit is great but I personally wouldn't risk these earnings. This is to say that when leveraging stop-loss is almost imperative!
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON 4.0 vs ETH 2.0 on: August 15, 2020, 02:38:55 PM
I just heard Justin Sun announce that "TRON 4.0 is coming", maybe this is his answer for ETH 2.0 Smiley

According to an open letter to the community Justin Sun announced TRON 4.0 release on July 7th 2020 quote "TRON has undergone three significant iterations and is now ready to embrace its fourth, TRON 4.0, on July 7th, 2020. The anniversary marks the conclusion of the TRON Odyssey era and heralds the beginning of TRON 4.0 — the era of the Great Voyage."

You can read the full 2-min letter  here .

Despite this announcement I still can't find anywhere if this new version has been released or even delayed Huh
173  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ Bet online ᐉ BTC Betting ᐉ Online betting odds on: August 14, 2020, 05:46:00 PM
Why not give this scam site a red card? Or maybe dark red is better.
They refuse to display the license, and also do not want to provide the information about it as well.

I got the sense that something was up just from reading the ANN with some typos/mistakes  Shocked. And as I continue I get more and more anxious where you see these people spreading all over and then go on claiming they're the best at everything - more like everything and nothing at the same time Cheesy

It's a shame to see that this could have been developed into something good...
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coinmarketcap's New Feature "Earn" on: August 14, 2020, 04:19:56 PM
I imagined that as soon as coinmarket was bought by binance they would implement many changes, but I did not imagine that in such a short time they would change many things which really shows that they have a lot of long-term vision and I think it is a good thing that they are doing because it will allow people to start trying to find out more about the projects they want to invest in

That's to be expected from Binance - after all, this  is a leading crypto asset platform. And what's interesting is that on top of being able to earn crypto assets while learning about them this also gives the users a chance to be the first ones to her about new launching projects which is advantageous in itself!

Way to go Binance  Grin
175  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How good is TradeStation to buy and sell bitcoin? on: August 14, 2020, 12:20:01 PM
I've never used TradeStation before as it is not crypto friendly. Anyways, this is what some Googling shows:
"The deposit and withdrawal are not user-friendly and you can only use bank transfer.

There is no forex trading and the customer service is of poor quality." Though at least it seems a trust-worthy platform as its parent company Monex Group is listed on Tokyo stock exchange.

There are fees in relation to using this, for more useful details see below (source here):
176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your opinion on Crypto.com's Earn and Binance's Savings? on: August 14, 2020, 09:14:16 AM
Crypto.com is not popular here, just keep using Binance because they are the most trader's choice here in the community.

Is there anyone that uses Crypto.com who can confirm that it is indeed as safe as Binance?
If you compare these two exchange, I will prefer to use Binance.

Same here. Although Crypto.com has some benefits I regard Binance a much more safer exchange platform to use. I can't comment much on the former as I haven't used it yet - Binance is satisfactory enough for me. As part of the savings system they can give ~10% APR in interest so it is not bad at all even as a Savings platform.
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Average Congressman has nearly 60 years. Can those grandpas regulate bitcoin? on: August 14, 2020, 07:53:35 AM
-Snip-
It really depends, in theory taking into account that technology is becoming more and more dominant each passing year a few of those people should be experts in different fields of technology and if that was the case then there will be no problem, but we know that in order to reach those positions in the government for the most part your expertise does not matter, so the question becomes are they humble enough to know that it is impossible for them to create a decent regulation on their own and ask the advice of experts? And if I am honest I do not believe that is the case.

They have their own interpretations, they are smart in terms of knowing things around them and bitcoin is no longer a small things to talk but already worldwide that needs to address.

Those grandpa's knows that they've needed to implied rules that will be accurate and be accordance with the laws,
It's not just because  they are old they don't know how to balance things, it so happened that there are many things
That new to them and it will take more research before they fully understand the whole actual industry.

I agree this is a matter of really understanding technology and many people at that age won't be able to grasp such a complicated technology so easily even if they might be somewhat smart.
The danger with this is that then decisions will be made on the general scale and that will probably not be reflected well on crypto.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Importance of Bitcoin during the Pandemic on: August 12, 2020, 08:47:19 PM
All in all the advice presented here carries some substance to it. It is true that while BTC has provided alternatives to those who know how to use it during the pandemic the digital fiat version was in effect even more dominant - as expected.

The take home message from that though is that digital currency can fill in a lot of gaps and it shows that with a lot of time and infrastructure, plus education crypto can become the new digital currency - as it should be. The advantage of substituting fiat for crypto is simple in terms of its reduced effect against disease transmission and its scope for easier personal finance.

179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Stable coin is the Best for Investment This Year on: August 12, 2020, 06:52:41 PM
I think the best stablecoin are those who can offered a significant option to get some profit. If you are a defi fans then you go for those stablecoin that guaranteed profits through lending and some savings featured that generate profits.

I agree with you that among the stable coins out there some are arguably better than others. For instance on some of these coins you can get a healthy return just by holding the coin by means of interest rates which may vary from exchange to exchange.

What I can say at least for USDT is that this interest rate can be ~ 8-12% APR which is not bad considering that you're only trying to hold your money. Far better interest rate than a regular institution though  Roll Eyes
180  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: which is a good option?? Trade or Hodl on: August 12, 2020, 04:30:42 PM
Is it better to keep good project coins for holding?
                                or
Trade in spot/ futures market in less leverage.

Weather you go for holding or trading is something dependent on the coin you have. As I've seen it for small market cap coins the market right now is volatile but it allows a trader to still make profit if buying/selling at the right times. Equally, this is less possible for the large market cap coins so in this regard you'd want to hold. At least this is what I'd consider doing  Tongue
