161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon Asic] Batch 2 Successful Orders on: February 02, 2013, 10:31:41 PM
Bought one, then shopping chart said its empty, added another one, managed to get to checkout, removed one, tried to pay, said I have to pay 0.05xxx BTC. I payed required 0.05xxxx in order to keep my order up. I didn't attempt to refresh, I was pretty sure I would lose the order.
162  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Avalon ASIC Batch #2 Sales Update on: February 02, 2013, 09:07:49 PM
There is no FROM address in bitcoin.

Are you also planning to reimburse people when you send their payments into the void?

You are mistaken.  There is a FROM address in bitcoin [inputs into the transaction].  There might be multiple FROM addresses, but they are there.

EDIT: The only problem I would see with it is if somebody did something foolish like try to withdraw coins from an exchange directly to the "Pay to" address.

I did so and it wasn't foolish. I have no wallet, only wallets I keep around on mining pools and exchanges.. Sad

Maximum of 3 units?

Then walletbit wanted to charge me 4 USD...

Same result for me

same. payed to keep my order up.

Funny, but not a bad idea..
166  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: January 31, 2013, 05:07:24 PM
At least some of increase is happening because some old miners started mining again. Look at the top teams on big pools, all of them got 10 - 50% in hash rate over last days.

Radio Shack and Fry's don't carry a decent selection of MOSFETs or inductors, and even if they did sending them to China would be like shipping coals to Newcastle - it's one of the few places where you can actually walk in and buy these kinds of parts.

It sounds like they were trying to get cheapest transistor and ICs possible from local producers, this probably would mean that Radio Shack is expensive.
168  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon is (unfortunately) a scam. Here is why. on: January 29, 2013, 09:37:46 PM
I thought it was an interesting (and strangely slow paced).

I have never actually seen Star Wars. I don't even have a clue from what movie in the trilogy it is. I should go watch that movie someday.

I don't know which movie either, but I would remember the scene anytime..

You want to tell them to piss off, don't you?  The hate is swelling in you now.  Take your keyboard weapon.  Use it.  They are unarmed.  Strike them down with it.  Give in to your anger.  With each passing moment, you make yourself more like me...

Indeed.

I suggest BitSyncom you turn away from becoming an Inaba. I understand that customer service is like washing a backed up toilet. (only worse since you have to deal with talking turds)

Just give the facts and hide the anger as it looks bad and puts you on par with Inaba. Let your success do the talking and walking for you.

Its a joke:

if each is able to source 10 Amps.

You can get regulators (even single-chip) that go much higher than that. I suppose they wanted to try and cut costs by rolling their own, once they realised that powering their 300W monstrosity would not be cheap. Then they decided to not buy the parts months in advance.

Yeah, I meant that..
171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 29, 2013, 11:46:19 AM
Lol..
300W at around 1V per chip means 300 Amps. They would need more than one power supply for chips per unit, probably 30 minimum ( 60 MOSFETs and 30 inductors) if each is able to source 10 Amps.

It's on a dual core, same lan, but indeed, it's slightly overloaded. But I'll put it on an i7 platform just for experiment and report back.

My own software over a large farm of fpgas. Statistics are pretty accurate over time, as I said, it rather seems to me the proxy isn't able to serve enough getworks. For getwork I use DE server, stratum I think uses a server in USA.

I tested the proxy again with +12GHs and I got 10% hash rate lost, the proxy wasn't serving enough getworks.

Did you tried to use their web support?

Hi Beekeeper, I don't seem to be able to find the support section.
