161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 09, 2013, 05:17:16 PM
I received and email where PrimeAsic told me that local pick up is not possible. Scam level raised to 100%

Summary:
- Anonymous guy appears from nowhere
- He claims to have devices that even a company with several million dollars can't produce in a timely manner. On top of that he claims to have paid the whole thing from his own pocket
- He can handle the whole process of creating a bitcoin ASIC miner (500 of them) but can't answer emails, answer forum questions or design a proper website
- He uses fake address, fake company, fake phone number
- No proof of other than one unit (amateur photo)
- Units can be delivered to customer or customer can pick them up by himself. No money is needed in advance
- People make orders and some even sent money to them...
- Local pick up is not possible anymore

Case closed

Sp how many people did pay for this Smiley ?

I'm pretty sure only one at this point. He used Paypal and counts on buyer's protection (I wouldn't). Everyone else is making orders and hoping that this is legit.

I ordered 20 for local pickup and requested pickup for this Tuesday.

I told them that I and 2 former Army Ranger friends would arrive Sunday.  But we needed Monday to get a cellular modem for the laptop I would use for testing, and my Ranger buddies wanted to pick up some 'hardware' they though might come in handy for the exchange.  Grin

36 hours since that message with no replies.  I guess they are really busy assembling my units.

Where did you select the date? I ordered in the first hours and didn't have any option. I haven't got any confirmation emails either.

Also, does anyone have the pick up address yet?
164  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 07, 2013, 10:25:12 PM
500 units available ill order 10 if this is real. Give a full demonstration of the unit and you the owner presenting it going through the specs showing close ups and presenting your product. If I like what I see I will book the next flight out to you guys and make arrangements for collection of units...

IF this is real, I would also like to do this. There is one big BUT: how are you going to ship them to your place when each one weighs 17kg = 35-37 lbs.
165  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 07, 2013, 07:25:18 PM
I can not believe people are still flying in for this....

Especially when there has been over 10 pages of discussion about this being a scam. I'm so disappointed. Seriously guys?

So someone really paid in advance. I'm amazed and not in a good way.
167  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - a 4 unit Avalon..? on: March 05, 2013, 06:44:49 PM
Maybe this is were a majority of the batch 1 preorders went and they are just reselling them =P HAHA

Not possible or at least highly unlikely. Stats don't match. Where did the seller get those extra modules that put him at 80GH/device.
He just ordered 2+ units and assembled one with four modules populated. Does not seem to be very hard, does it?

That would fall into category "highly unlikely". That is possible and one option yes, but what's the point? Having several devices with four modules for resale purpose and keeping all those that have only two. Makes no sense.

At least this forum got 10BTC from PrimeAsic! I wish every troll would do the same.

+1 rep for rpietila, he is a trustworthy guy.

This kind service will be a huge succes if one can make it 100% automated.
172  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PrimeAsic - 80 Ghash/sec Asic Miner on: March 04, 2013, 05:34:25 PM
I also vote for scam.

I do wonder why PrimeAsic donated btc to this forum. Did he really believe that people would send btc just because someone is mining at 80GH.

BUT if I'm wrong. Please get back to asap so that I can come there with a pile of cash.

Waiting for more info about the device itself. Is it like Avalon or does it need a host computer?

Address would be nice too.

We made a trade for 10BTC and it only took about 10minutes so I can definitely recommend AnonX!

Clipse was probably stupid enough to invest them in to Pirate's ponzi scheme. We just had to cover his losses.

I've disabled payout, and am restoring balance's + work. The script that syncs and scans backlogs from N date had some issues and is being fixed. Sit tight.
178  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS]-[EU] 5 BFL FPGA Singles on: December 30, 2012, 10:57:49 AM
Out of curiosity, would you be willing to ship to USA/Canada?

I have no problem with that.

179  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB BFL singles on: December 23, 2012, 08:32:59 PM
Seems reasonable since one can't buy them from BFL anymore, they have a trade-in value of $599 and one can mine bitcoins before ASICs ship Wink
180  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS]-[EU] 5 BFL FPGA Singles on: December 22, 2012, 03:26:49 PM
I'd say Rev.3. They have one 90mm top fan and small bottom fan which is inside the case. 5 of them are running the fastest firmware and one is at 830MH/s because the bottom fan is going to fail soon. This same single has a new top fan since the original failed few weeks ago.

They are in a storage right now where temperature is around 14 celcius. Singles themself are running around 47 celcius.

I'll upload a picture in a few hours.

Location: Finland.
