This thread has devolved into Sparta and Persia. Really, I think DAGCoin has an amazing concept behind it, no blocks, there is no minutely block, daily block, weekly block, there are no blocks released, go find the ANN for it and read up some more, I'm watching it under a close eye.

So, namecoin and bitcoin have merged mining, we all know that, heck, the main dashboard on the slush's pool website shows all the namecoin blocks that are discovered and mined... So they've disabled the namecoin payouts for years now, namecoin is still being mined by the pool... So where is all the namecoins mined going? Straight into his pocket? 1 NMC = ~ 40 US cents and the pool's scoring hashrate is ~ 30 Petahashes. That is a hell of a lot of coin. If it isn't going down his fat gullet, then where is all of it disappearing to?

Bitcoin XT will never be worth it in the long run. Bigger blocks means less value pumped out per block. Really, it's a parasite feeding off Core at the moment, it will never be beneficial for our bitcoin community.

Really? Just google "Scrypt miner" Zeusminer and some other sites will pop right up. They release new hardware fairly quickly. I don't get why you have to make a new topic that is easily answerable.

Hmmm... A video game that you can earn bitcoin with, like minecraft modded with bitcoin-giving minigames, or an FPS game that gives satoshi instead of game points.

Err..? But why? You can farm with simple devices like the antminer U3 ~70 times faster than current gen computers, why would you want to downsize for more electricity consumption to mine bitcoin. You will only stuff yourself over in the long run, there are reasons for devices being created solely for mining SHA-256d (Bitcoin's algo) Computers are way too slow to do anything since early 2014. No profit will be made, electricity will be wasted. Don't try it

Thank you - Yeah, I've tried all that. I was just hoping someone would have a work around. Truth is I'm just doing this for fun (this time and for now), the U3 is a great toy to have sitting in front of my computer screen, so I don't want to go all-in, I just want it plugged into my computer, which happens to be a mac. Maybe I'll pull out my old raspberry pi and see if that thing still works. Good luck on ya!

I excluded bitcoin qt from my firewall and added 20 nodes, still nothing. It did update 2 weeks ago but it suddenly stopped.
Huh, weird, go to the debug window then "Network Traffic" Tell me, are you receiving any data? Also, what operating system are you on?
|
|
|
Thanks, the problem is still there, No block source available Okay, there are two ways you can add nodes, the easiest is going in your core client, clicking on the "Help" tab, clicking "debug window" on the bar that shows up then click the "console" tab. https://getaddr.bitnodes.io/nodes/?q=United%20States is a list of all active nodes. Type into the console an active node IP address with "addnode 98.208.19.150:8333 add" (random ip I got) Repeat this with different ips to manually add nodes to your client. One will connect and start sending you the whole blockchain. Also, check your firewall to make sure that it isn't blocking port "8333" Google "bitcoin conf" to manually make the config that starts when you run your core client, it isn't really needed, but it's good to have.

Update to core 0.11.0. It's just above the "MEMBERS" tab. Give it a click and install, your wallet will still have the same amount of money and addresses, just an updated client.

Dogecoin is worth not a single US cent. Litecoin is worth $2 right now. If that isn't meaning enough, I don't know what is. Unless doge's price rockets, it's worth practically nothing.

Well, Bitcoin when it was designed was not designed to be stable. The very idea of an internet/global currency in itself wouldn't be stable. Bitcoin's price can drop to the seabed or rise to the stars in a matter of minutes. I don't see a problem. $230 is a hell of a lot of money for anything.

Shouldn't they focus on real problems in their country? Maybe setup medical care for teens playing 20+ hours a day of LoL. They don't need to launch an investigation. That is what the community is for, to phuck over scammers and their modus operandi.

^ Mobile is the way to go, get some information on how current mobile wallets work and update the android market with your own version. I've come across quite a few problems buying pancakes with bitcoin at the local truck for fun.

Firstly, what program should I use/do you use to solo mine Riecoin? I am not getting any confirmation on XptMiner that I am actually CPU mining at all. Afterburner and task manager say nothing on my CPU usage fluctuating as you would suspect in mining? As suspected, no shares have been accepted and the miner reports that it has connected normally. Weird. Any input? Fenks, Griff.

Okay, so, halve the problem, first get one S5 up and running, don't try two at a time. Once you diagnose what's wrong with the first, if anything, you can try the second. Don't make it too confusing to start off with. It seems like you're getting mixed up with the IPs too. I can't exactly see where you're going wrong with the video's quality, but maybe another member can chip in. I suggest you setup one S5 with whatever tutorial you're using, if that doesn't work, make sure the miner actually works and hashes before running all possible reasons for why it isn't functioning fully.

just wondering if it can be short-term investment i was thinking about it and said no gold price changes in years not days what do you think about this ?
I think not, trading with gold is much more... Effective than hoping the price will return from it's 5 year low for a minuscule profit. Short term, of course not, long term, possibly? Trading, always an option if done correctly.

USB Miner? That could be pretty much anything, a block erupter 333Mh/s, an antminer U3... Just use the google machine and enter it's name and 'tutorial' behind it to get some videos/forum posts to answer your query. My erupter just works when I plug it in and start cgminer. Bitminter picks the little thing up too, I don't know what your erupter is so I can't add more input.
