IMPORTANT AUCTION UPDATE Tuesday, May 29, 2018.
This Auction (for Lots A-E) will be Extended until this Friday, June 1.
Due to unforeseen shill bidding by a newbie account, the final outcome of the auction was affected for lots A-E. (Lots F-M were not affected, and those auction results are final.)
After much consideration and taking input from forum users, we have decided to do the following:
1) Re-open and Extend the auction time for Lots A, B, C, D, and E. 2) The auction for these 5 lots start again right now, with an auction end time of Friday, June 1, at 4:00 PM / 16:00 hours UTC. 3) The auction will be open to everyone, however, Forum Newbies will have to get pre-approval to bid. We will ask Newbie users to send in 1.0 BTC as a refundable escrow, in order to place valid bids. 4) BTCC_Official will post in this OP, the list of Newbie users who are qualified to bid in this auction. All other Newbie bids should be considered invalid unless we have pre-approved their participation. 5) The starting bids for Lot (A-E) will be the highest bid by a user that was not impacted by the shill bidding. See the bottom of this OP for the Starting bids and current high bidder. 6) Winners will NOT have to pay extra shipping if they already won and paid for an auction Lot F-M.
We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences and confusions caused. We will learn from this experience, take in your constructive feedback, and vouch to improve our process and procedures for future auctions. Thank you for your continued support and trust in BTCC.
In the mean time, you now have your chance to win Lots A, B, C, D, and E!
Sincerely, BTCC_Official

Sorry guy i was just trying to be rich like you please help: ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) You people have lots of money GOD! one day you will pay to: 18T2rvPc8DKTivUzzMKMBp5yct7hWiBAGP please Bobby - Did you not see this post? It's just a waste of everyone's time. EDIT- I feel like I've wasted four hours of my time on this auction, and won't be participating in any re-auctions. You've failed to put in place proper ground rules and are being naive when it comes to these shill bidders and scammers. Some of us anticipated this by putting in place provisional bids because we knew those bids would never be paid. I'm not going to waste any more time on your auctions here because it seems you don't know how to conduct them to prevent these shenanigans. Hybridsole, Thank you for your feedback. Please be constructive: tell me what you suggest we do? Should we just award winner to second place rather than re-auction? Given that it was pretty obvious a non-serious bid (registered seconds before bid placed, and bidding double a reasonable price on at least one item), I proceeded knowing that it would likely go to the second highest, valid bid. Fair enough. Thanks.
|
|
|
@BTCC_Official why don’t you simply take the second highest bids in stead of going through an other auction..?
Yes, I might do that. Give me a day to think about it. Something like this: - For lots that got second place bidding after the trolling bids, we can award winner to second place bidding. - For lots that got stuck and never got an additional bid, we might just re-auction it this week, or withhold and auction it at the next event. Comments?

Newbies HAVE THE FUCKING RIGHTS TO BID. OKAY? ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) If i dont pay someone else will .. THATS IT! Hi Notawhaleyet, Even though you're a newbie user, if you are genuine, then we are pleased to have you participate in this auction. The auction is now over, and currently, based on your last bids, you're the winner of 4 lots: A 2.73 Notawhaleyet - 2016 Gold-plated “Artists Proof” One Bitcoin B 2.41 Notawhaleyet - 2016 Titanium One Bitcoin D 2.13 Notawhaleyet - 2016 Bitcoin Chips Signature Set #14 E 16.2 Notawhaleyet - 1 roll: 20x 2017 Purple 500K-bits Bitcoin Chips As instructed, I'm looking for you to send me this information by PM:Please PM/DM us your details (and after that, we will provide you a unique BTC payment address in the OP): - Full Name - Shipping Address - Email address - Mobile phone number If you prefer to pickup in person from BTCC office in Shanghai, the deadline is June 30, 2018. Please provide the following details: - Full Name - Passport number - Date of Birth - Email address - Mobile phone number Once you have sent us the details, we will proceed with the payment phase, to provide you with a custom BTC payment address in the OP. Since you're a newbie user, and several auction participants have complained that your bids may be phantom and you don't intend to pay, I urge you to take this message seriously, and PM me within ~24 hours, by 6:00 pm UTC time, on Monday, May 28.If you PM us your details, and then proceed to pay within 72 hours, then all is good. If you don't PM us your shipping details and contact information, I will then cancel all of your bids, and those lots you bid on, (A, B, C, D, and E) will all go back to a second, private auction, to determine the winning bidder. (since lot C was won by BG4, he will have a choice to either pay the winning bid now, at 2.21 BTC, or have lot C go back for re-auction.) All re-auctions will start at the last bid, before your bid, that was placed in message post #113. If you do not respond by PM within 24 hours, the re-auction details for lots A-E will be announced tomorrow.thanks, Bobby

The thing is: "User 'BTCC_Official' has not chosen to allow messages from newbies. You should post in their relevant thread to remind them to enable this setting." How can I PM BTCC? Thank you for respond.
Sorry about that! Now it’s fixed. You can now send us PM/DM. Thank you for letting us know.

If top bidder fails to pay, the bid under it should win, right?
No decision will be made yet until we understand the progress of payments. Stay tuned. We are obviously assuming (and hoping) that all auction winners will pay up, regardless of forum account age/status.

ATTENTION: Important details about payments and shipping addresses:
In order to prevent fraud through identity theft and hijacked accounts, we will utilize the following procedure for payments and specifying of shipping address.
1) After the auction ends, we will update the OP listing the winners, along with the total amount of BTC for all lots won by the winner.
2) We will then need each winner to send us a PM/DM, with your name, desired shipping address, email address, and mobile phone number. (You can also specify that you want to pick it up in person at our BTCC office in Shanghai, China, by giving us your real name, passport number, date of birth, and mobile number. We will use that information to match up your credentials when you come for pickup. Deadline for pickup is June 30, 2018.)
3) Only after we have received your individual PM/DM with personal details, we will then update the OP to give a unique Bitcoin BTC Payment Address for each winner. You will have until Friday, June 1, to make your payment.
4) After your payment is received, you will NOT be able to change the shipping address or the pickup method anymore. This is really to protect you, such that even if your Forum account is comprised later, we will NOT obey any instructions to re-route shipping destination.
5) Finally: we will NEVER send you payment requests via PM/DM. Please see all official postings in the OP. All payment requests and BTC addresses will always be posted in the OP.
Thank you. BTCC

Someone sent me a reminder re this auction, so just for the record here's my very late night replies and why I've lost interest in it, but hopefully it will help make other auctions a bit better managed.
"Btcc auction!!!"
Me: Fuck that, Bobby 'hates' the idea of me winning a bunch and some total newbie account/s are high bidding, I have enough already tbh and can't be bothered trying to find a way to politically correctly bid.
"I don't beleive those newbis are gonna pay...
But maybe it's a Chinese to English thing that loses something in translation.
Like there's no way someone sane would be like please stop bidding on my auction it's not fair to other people. "
Me: Maybe they will, maybe they won't, it's actually a good tactic to use a newbie account as ppl will think you may be just fake bidding the price up so not bid against you, the auction is a total mess imo, like in regular top end auction houses new bidders (actually especially ones from China who are notorious for not honouring their bids and not paying) have to per-register and also show proof of funds and often put down a hefty deposit.
To me it is irresponsible to encourage newbie bidders without making sure to other bidders that they are legit and actually have the funds.
He basically, or someone that he listened to, didn't like me going blam at the beginning and high bidding all the coins, but it was early days then and low bids, now I don't even have one single high bid left in the running, anyway their loss as I'm sure the sellers would have appreciated me doing it at the end now and I would have on some of the coins at least but have been put off bothering about that sale as I really don't need to participate in stuff that isn't fun for me any more.
Hi Otoh, I'm not sure how I offended you earlier, as you now appear upset at my earlier comments. Didn't mean to discourage you. Maybe I misunderstood your intentions. Sorry! thanks, Bobby

Will items that won't get paid reauctioned?
Yes, that's what I'm thinking right now. (and obviously, bar people newbies and/or even bar people who haven't already bid on the item before.) We will have a good decision soon; don't worry.

I don't normally comment on price, but this bid is absolutely insane (especially coming from a brand new account):
B 2.41 Notawhaleyet - 2016 Titanium One Bitcoin
it might be a trick Right. For example, I would love to have the second highest valid bid for Lot C of 1.75 BTC. But since this newbie came in and overshot the price, that's not possible. He might have two accounts, one for the highest and another for the second, and his first account will give up the bid after win, then his second account win with a proper price. hhh This is why people put minimum account age and/or trust requirements for auctions. Good point. We will revisit the rules for next time.

Yes that's why I bid "A" under @ 1.83 in case of these newbs not paying up.
ok.

|

I'll give a try
A - 1.83 E - 14.2
Your "A" bid of 1.83 was not higher than the current highest bid of 2.51 (from tokenizing). Your "E" bid of 14.2 is valid and is now the highest.
