did you use that address to mine under before? Kano has it set up so an address can only be used once. Try creating another one to tie to your account. |

thats one thing i wish i had either taught myself or taken a class for was hope to code apps. I focused on the database side of things. wish i had branched out a little more. The iphone app for kano pool seems to have more functionality then the android one. i still use the android one but i wish it did more. its nice to see those block find notifications though...lol can make a crappy day better. |

Its not so much that we want to buy their hardware. its more that when it comes down to ROI we are strong armed into it. Id love to sell all my antminers and go pure Avalon but the difference in $ and hash is its downfall. ... and meanwhile while there's so many posts here supporting Bitmain and buying their hardware ...

So many people's decisions on hardware purchase are based only on price, they don't take anything else into account. Which is a shame, because if they did then no one would be buying Bitmain hardware and supporting their empty blocks. Forget the S7, they're being marked down for a reason. Buy an Avalon 6 and you won't regret it! Unfortunately this game is all about ROI and bitmain knows that buy selling cheaper we are "forced" to buy from them. |

Wait.. You have close enough neighbors to ask what the noise in your garage is, need to find a contractor or insurance person to fix a water leak, and yet are looking to buy 1. possibly 2 12PH Mining containers.......  Ummm.. yeah.. That makes absolute sense... reading comprehension is a must. The statement "I plan on investing a lot but I have decided I will keep my growth at home going because it's just fun and keep my neighbors wondering and asking what all that noise is from garage." I live in a neighborhood like most people.... I have 3 car garage one closed off , It's where my home miners will always be. If you think at any residence you could power one of those systems much less house it you are crazy, they require 1.5 megawatts of power and are large and have a separate 10sf power hook up. These systems require main trunk lines and near main lines I.E. warehouse. Those systems are for business and my home ones for fun. Why is it so many people try to act like they know everyone others worlds, lives? This is why I usually don't post much and lesson learned/done. do you realize the fans they need to cool the gear down? 1.5 megawatts of power = 6,000,000 btus the liquid part of the cooling moves the 6,000,000 btus off the chips and into a radiator system with jet turbine fans. Good luck cooling it and finding a place that will allow you to dump 6,000,000 btus of heat into the environment int such a small area (ie 8 by 40 foot container truck) with ½ dozen jet fans to get the heat away from the container. my furnace uses 90,000 kwatts and a 1300 cfm fan so 66.6 x 90,000 = about 6 million btus and 66.6 x 1300 = 87,000 cfm so you are looking at some loud powerful fans . id actually be interested to see one of those container units in person. I know they are drawn out on their site but seeing one live would be neat. You could probably hear the power being sent into the unit, maybe if the massive cooling system doesn't make you deaf. I think those crates are meant to be standalone units outside. not sure how you would secure the area though so people don't try and steal the copper/metal. I guess we need to encourage more chicken eating today. the blocks are starting to fade from green. |

my question is why the sudden surge of coupons. seems a bit fishy that they suddenly care about their customers and want to offer them a large discount. Are these units actually new stock or stock that "tested" and is being pulled off their farms so new faster/better stock can go in. Really no way to tell if a unit is "used" or "new" if it has been cleaned/maintained well.

I also received a message that there will be $115 coupons distributed on 4/1/16 if you bought S7's during a certain period or to be used instead of S5 redemption on Hashnest. This would make the gap even bigger.
Gonna be a struggle for me to choose, because on one hand I really dislike Bitmain, but that price is hard to beat.
and there is the problem that I think most of us are facing. we don't really want to support bitmain but they make it hard to buy anything else as they price the competition out of the market. My question is why the sudden generosity from bitmain. They have always been stingy in the past with discounts unless you buy in the pallet load. are the ones their are currently selling from their farms and they are trying to use these coupons to move them faster? I hate myself for it but I know ill get another s7 as that price cant be beat but Ill still look around for an single Avalon. I know holy has some. |

wow -- first time I have seen a 3 way blower before -- this is gives me a few ideas for cooling project - thanks!
that was actually the initial reason I bought it for was to buy those orange attachments (at rear of miners) for the front of the unit and blow cooler air at them from a part of the basement that wasn't so hot. but with temps in the mid 80s down there. they turned into exhaust attachments and an exhaust nozzle attachment to move some of the heat outside. still in the design process for the whole area. been thinking of putting the 4in exhaust pipes into some kind of reducer to attach them to an inline fan that pumps all the heat outside. |

I started mining at Kano yesterday. After more than 12 hours the block% (0.021%) is still the same. Is this normal?
Will my rewards go directly to my wallet once the block is completed?
the block % for your worker? that just shows you what % of a block that miner is doing ie an s5 is .004% a s7 is .015%. your payouts will happen after the block gets to 101 confirms that's when it reaches the "matured" state on the block page. make sure your btc address is set up or payments cant happen. Check the Rewards and Payouts to see what you get paid on maturity. The rewards will show you more stats ie %, average hash, N diff and N avg, the payout shows your btc address and what you got paid. |

I want to buy one but I am kind of screwed being that I am stuck out of town for my job and do not have access to my coins at the moment. I am currently in Indiana so I can't drop off cash. Any ideas how to get coins quickly?
There are a couple sites you could buy btc from. Or if you have someone at home have them install teamviewer on the machine and install it on your machine/phone with you. Easy way to remote in quickly and then uninstall when done. |

Wow, I did not realize this. I already have a Pi with one A6 running, so I really only need the A6, four pin wire, usb/four pin adapter. Any discount for not needing the Pi, wall wart, and usb cables? If not no problem, I can always find a use for another Pi. Might be good to have incase you want to gave the miners on different pools. Like one on solo ck the other on kano. |

I am still using 4x AntMiner S1 that are now under-volted. They each pull about 1.35A at the wall with a Gold rated PSU. I get roughly 130GH/s at this power usage, so not quite 1 W/GH, but close to it. In any event, I would definitely keep your S1 units around even if you decide to turn them off. There is a community project going found at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1368507.0 led by some experienced folks, namely sidehack and a few others. They are working on replacement boards for the S1 chassis based on the upcoming 16nm BitFury chips. i actually just picked up 5 that a guy was selling on fleabay. gotta make sure i have enough to retro when the new chips come out. |

Another thing that throws new Kano CKPool miners off is the concept of 5Nd and shifts. There is a ramp up period which takes about 1-2 days before your payouts are at maximum.
