161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are old coins no more profitable on: October 06, 2018, 05:53:14 AM
Right now old coins can be still profitable, but I don't think if they still profitable  in the near future since there's a lot of new coin's in the market that has unique technology, but of course these is depends on the project and team .

Sa tingin ko hindi na kailangan ng additional moderator dito sa local board natin since active pa naman ang dalawang mods natin lalo't na si rickbig,at hindi rin naman masyadong malaki ang community natin dito, tsaka kahit hindi ka man moderator pwde ka karin naman makatulong dito sa local board natin by clicking report to the moderator to those people who are abusing in our local forum.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I give up now? on: October 05, 2018, 02:29:13 PM
It's better to earn real tokens, not fake ones as most of these ICO's are scams and they promise in any method to scam people. I joined so many Airdrops, bounties, but only 2 to 3 paid me and they were in less price. I wasted my time by promoting them on Social media sites.
I suggest you to discover much, but after all these also they don't pay anything for us.
That's why you shouldn't join in any campaign that you've seen in the bounty section, You should do some research first before joining in any campaign to avoid wasting your time by participating in a fraudulent campaign.

165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin will be the safest investment on: October 04, 2018, 05:17:16 AM
Actually I don't think that bitcoin can be the safest investment since were all know that investing in cryptocurrencies it's too risky because of its price fluctuates to high it might be dump to hard or fall.

Japan’s Prime Minister Appoints Pro-Blockchain Figure as Minister of Science, Tech, IT

A prominent pro-blockchain politician has been appointed as Minister of Science, Technology, and IT as part of the fourth reshuffle Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe's cabinet, Cointelegraph Japan reported October 2.

Takuya Hirai, a member of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), and reportedly one of the architects of a law legalizing crypto exchanges in Japan last year, will take up the key role as head of the ministry — charged, among other things, with overseeing official government policy towards financial technologies.

As CT Japan outlined, Hirai has been proactive in promoting blockchain as part of his role as chairperson of the Liberal Democratic Party's IT Strategy Special Committee, as well as chairperson of the Fintech Promotion Parliamentarians’ Federation.

Moreover, Hirai is credited for his role in drafting Japan’s basic cybersecurity law, which was enacted in 2015; at the time, Hirai stated that the LDP “concluded that [the government] will, for now, avoid a move towards legal regulation” of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC).

CT Japan further points to local Japanese media reports that have highlighted Hirai’s positive remarks regarding Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) at the JBA (Japan Blockchain Association) meeting this August; he has also advised the ICO Business Study Group at Tama University's Rule Formation Strategy Institute.

In regards to progress in establishing futures rules “such as the creation of voluntary ICO regulations in the future,” CT Japan writes that “various support and efforts from the government are [to be] expected,” given the appointment of a figure that is well versed in crypto to the head post of the country’s Science, Technology, and IT Ministry.

As previously reported, Hirai’s advisory role at Tama University saw the study group release a wide-ranging list of guidelines for the regulation and full legalization of ICOs in the country, which will reportedly be officially considered by Japan’s Financial Services Agency and could eventually be passed into law in a few years’ time.

The guidelines included rules for anti-money-laundering (AML), know-your-customer (KYC) measures, tracking project progress, and protecting existing equity and debt holders.

167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most frustrating thing about crypto on: October 03, 2018, 12:59:24 PM
And that is exchanges who are keeping coins/tokens hostile for a long period of time. When I deposit or withdrawal from an exchange often times it just keeps it in pending status. Now I'm waiting for an idex deposit, 4 hours passed. My worst case was a withdrawal at cryptopia which took 30 days.

Crypto is not ready to be adopted by the masses. Lots of suicides would be the result...
Yeah you're right, I once experienced also in this kind scenario, I've deposited electroneum on cryptopia but something went happen, My electroneum doesn't appeared to my wallet on cryptopia, I've wondered what happens to my etn cuz I've followed exactly on how to send etn to cryptopia, So I sent a ticket to their support, and they say it will take 30 working days to fixed the issue. It's so frustrating for me because I badly needed money at that time.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is better than Bitcoin? on: October 03, 2018, 09:20:06 AM
Ethereum technology has built in smart contract while bitcoin doesn't and when it comes in transactions speed ethereum is faster than bitcoin and it is also lower cost of gas compared to bitcoin, So I think ethereum is much better than bitcoin in terms of their technology.

US Congressmen Call on SEC for Regulatory Clarity Regarding Cryptocurrencies

A group of lawmakers from the U.S. Congress has sent a letter to Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Jay Clayton, calling for regulatory clarity regarding cryptocurrencies, CNBC  reported September 28.

According to CNBC, more than a dozen congressmen asked Clayton to tell investors how the SEC plans to regulate digital currency. The lawmakers requested clarity on the criteria for identifying digital tokens as “investment contracts” and therefore securities, in addition to a  description of the tools the SEC will use to provide more concrete guidance to innovators in the field. The letter reads:

The congressmen reportedly expressed their concerns regarding uncertainty surrounding the treatment of offers and sales of digital tokens because, in their view, it impedes innovation in the U.S. and could eventually drive business to other jurisdictions.

The congressmen also said in the letter “We… believe that formal guidance may be an appropriate approach to clearing up legal uncertainties which are causing the environment for the development of innovative technologies in the United States to be unnecessarily fraught.”

On Sep. 26, congressman Warren Davidson hosted a “crypto roundtable” with over 45 representatives from major Wall Street firms and crypto companies. Experts expressed their concerns regarding possible regulations of the crypto space and told lawmakers that there is a pronounced lack of regulatory clarity for Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and digital currencies.

The developers of open-source cryptocurrency Monero (XMR) have patched a bug that could allow an attacker to “burn” the funds of an organization’s wallet while only losing network transaction fees, according to an announcement published September 25.

The bug was reportedly discovered after a community member described a hypothetical attack on the XMR subreddit. The bug could purportedly affect merchants and organizations in the XMR ecosystem, enabling an attacker to trigger significant damage. The blog post further describes how the bug would be exploited:

While Monero notes that the attacker would not be able to directly accrue monetary gains with such an attack, “there are probably means to indirectly benefit.”

Following the attack, the hacker sells the XMR for Bitcoin (BTC) and then withdraws the BTC. As a result of the attack, the exchange is left with 999 unspendable or “burnt” outputs of 1 XMR.

Notably, the bug has not affected the protocol or the coin supply. XMR developers subsequently created and included a patch in the code, which was announced via XMR’s official Twitter account:

171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 99% OF ALL AIRDROPS ARE SCAMS!!!!! on: September 26, 2018, 10:15:55 AM
No, this is only 2018 current condition. If I compare with last year (2017) there are many legit airdrops. Like BLUE, ELTCOIN, EREAL, BITWHITE, REBL, and many more. So, I can say 2018 is the worst time for airdrop. I think the last Airdrop which gives good token was POLYMATH.
Yeah, you're right, Airdrop before is profitable and worth to join, unlike today, most of the airdrops are scams they only collect money from investor's then after they reach their goal they abandoned it.

Blockchain’s Popularity Among Large Enterprises Soared 11% This Year, Survey Finds

New research from fintech analysts Juniper House has found that blockchain’s traction with large enterprises has risen by 11 percent this year, according to a press release published September 11.

Juniper’s Blockchain Enterprise Survey: Deployments, Benefits & Attitudes (Second Edition) found that 65 percent of responding large enterprises – defined as those who employ a minimum of 10,000 staff – are “considering or actively engaged” in blockchain deployment, up 11 percent from the corresponding 54 percent figure last year.

Further data analysis shows that nearly a quarter of firms have moved beyond blockchain proofs-of-concept onto trials and commercial rollouts. People learn from their past mistakes, but not all, because in this kind of investment we should study and research carefully if we were going to invest in any projects that related in crypto since 90% of the ICO's are failed or turn out into a scammed projects.

FINRA Charges Broker With Fraud for Trading Unregistered Cryptocurrency

The U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has filed a complaint against Timothy Tilton Ayre, charging him with securities fraud and the illegal distribution of an unregistered cryptocurrency, according to a statement released on FINRA’s website Tuesday, September 11.

In the complaint, FINRA, overseen by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), states that Massachusetts-based Ayre tried to lure investment to his public company, Rocky Mountain Ayre, Inc. (RMTN), by selling HempCoin, which he misrepresented as “the first minable coin backed by marketable securities.”  The regulator writes that Ayre’s claims are “fraudulent, positive statements about RMTN’s business and finances.”

Furthermore, Ayre stated that HempCoin is a security backed by RMTN common stock, telling investors that each coin was equivalent to 0.10 shares. As a result, more than than 81 million HempCoin securities were mined in late 2017 and sold on crypto exchanges. As Ayre never attempted to register the coin, FINRA has decided to charge the RMTN head with the unlawful distribution of an unregistered security.

In addition to the above, from January 2013 through October 2016, Ayre reportedly made false statements about the nature of RTMN’s business and the creation and “unlawful distribution” of HempCoin, as well as making misleading claims in RMTN’s financial statements.

FINRA, which has started a formal proceeding against RMTN by filing a complaint, reminds the public in the statement that anyone named in a complaint can file a response and request a hearing. If FINRA admits there were violations, the firm or individual might get a fine, censure, suspension, or be barred from the securities industry.

178  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-09-05]Report: Crypto ATM Market Expected to Grow to $144.5 Million by 2023 on: September 05, 2018, 01:55:57 AM
Report: Crypto ATM Market Expected to Grow to $144.5 Million by 2023

The crypto automated trading machine (ATM) market will grow to $114.5 million by 2023, according a report published Sept. 4 on ResearchandMarkets.com.

Researchers expect the cryptocurrency ATM market to grow from $16.3 million in 2018 to $144.5 million by 2023, citing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 54.7 percent from 2018 to 2023.

According to the study, significant growth during the forecast period will be from two-way ATMs, which let customers change digital currency into fiat and vise-versa using a single machine. The study says that the machines’ functionality is the key driver of two-way crypto ATMs’ popularity among users.

The authors of the report highlight rapidly expanding capabilities in developed countries like the U.S., Germany, and Japan, and the increasing rate of crypto adoption as prime growth factors in the crypto ATM market.

The North American crypto ATM market will purportedly hold the largest share of the crypto market by 2023. The presence of a large number of crypto ATM hardware and software providers, as well as a favorable investment environment will facilitate the dominant position of the U.S. in the market.

At the same time, the study also identifies regulatory uncertainty, in addition to lack of awareness and technical understanding of cryptocurrencies as factors that can limit the growth of the crypto ATM market.

Targeting mainstream adoption, Ontario-based Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH)  ATM manufacturer LocalCoinATM installed a batch of ETH ATMs in three different locations in Canada, including Toronto, Brampton and Etobicoke in 2017. That year South Korean ATM manufacturer Hyosung officially integrated BTC into its international ATM models.

While the crypto ATM market is projected to grow over the next five years, traditional ATM manufacturers consider digital currencies a threat to their business. In March, the world’s largest ATM operator Cardtronics pinpointed cryptocurrencies among the major risks to their business in an annual report. Consumer behavior analysis reportedly showed a significant shift in preferred payment methods, with more customers now choosing electronic forms of payment over traditional physical banknotes, leading to a decline in the use of ATMs.
