161  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official CedarTec Topic - New ASIC [Scam?] on: May 04, 2013, 12:06:35 AM
Do we have any member in Lebanon to verify locally for their business. Lebanon is a fishy place to do any development, it's way more volatile than the price of BTC.

23 pages, still none of our bitcoin prominent members contacted by you. What kind PR is this?

Do yourself and us a favor and take the preorder out of it.  It doesn't fly anymore.  Front the cash yourself to finish it up and you will have customers lined up to get at 'real stock' when you are ready.

[/end thread]

This.

Preorders have become a question of whether customers take the risk now or the business does. Given the amount of fly-by-night operators and ASIC start ups - along with the BFL fiasco - I don't think you'll find many willing to accept the risk as a customer any more.

Seconded.

Third.

Signed. Better just focus on BTC and get the ecosystem stable.
165  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt.Gox is full of shit, got to go. on: April 10, 2013, 11:55:02 PM
Long term, we need distributed exchanges.

For the short term, staying with MtGox, may the following rules help curb the DDOS attempts?

- limit number of trade executions within a specific time frame, AND
- trader must trade minimum $1 in fiat or equivalent in BTC

May I suggest you contact Rick Falkvinge, founder of the Swedish Pirate Party, when you have something to show? He's living in Stockholm, and is a well known figure in parts of the internet community. He has also shown great interest in Bitcoin, and he's a really smart man. If you can convince him you are legitimate, you have also convinced me and (I suspect) many others. I'm not really sure he'd lend his name to vouch for you, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

+1!

Power spec not good for USA, AC220-240. How's that going to work out, are you providing adapter?
Many US homes have 220/240. If not, pick up a converter. Less than $40.

http://www.amazon.com/VCT-Voltage-Transformer-Converter-Worldwide/dp/B000W9T5SW/

500W max load on the amazon specs. If it's higher, then adapter can be expensive, also miner is on all the time, that's lot stress put on the adapter.

169  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countdown to $200 / bitcoin ? on: April 08, 2013, 10:41:23 AM
If we don't see any resistance between $190 and $195, then passing $200 is not a problem. Safe bet passing 200 is probably mid-week or before weekend.
170  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Poll: I just paid $1,249 for a BFL 25 GH/s Bitcoin Miner order! on: April 07, 2013, 11:08:08 PM
Since BFL now doubled the price and dropped hash rate on the new orders. You are better off sell your preorder on eBay for at least double price.

I ordered a 60Gh/s Miner for $1,299. I have asked for a refund but the PayPal account I used is no longer in use.... this is probably going to cause some problems  Huh
171  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling 6.9 BTC For PayPal GBP on: April 07, 2013, 08:56:22 PM
Mixing PayPal with BTC is bad idea. The infamous PayPal charge back will be the most risky issue. You should seriously consider cash only deal. Did you check out: https://localbitcoins.com/?
172  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wouldn't it be more fair if the bitcoins were shared equally? on: April 07, 2013, 08:47:59 PM
If OP can read some posts on reddit.com/r/bitcoin, then you will notice many early adopters who are considered rich now are actually being very generous tipping other newbies. They took the risk and time to be the pioneer on something that they believed. This is fair to everyone.
173  Other / Archival / Re: I sold everything at $158/159 this morning on: April 07, 2013, 06:21:22 PM
I'd go with CNN's recommendations, any number higher than $15 is apparently a bubble: http://buzz.money.cnn.com/2013/04/05/bitcoin-bubble/
