Just returned from the most expensive short vacation ever. No, it wasn't Japan. Just a quick four hour drive over the border to the sea.
On the way back, the motherfucking car broke down on the highway!!!  
First i thought a heavy chopper was flying in low altitude over us, which isn't uncommon near a NATO base, but then i missed the Doppler effect, so i slowed down, and the chopper noise did too   Fuck! I immediately stopped and then i could hear one of the cylinders blowing off air, and we could smell exhaust gas through the AC air outlets.
Got the car tied away, with us six passengers inside, because the driver of the tow truck said it's a pretty dangerous spot to be in as foreigners, so he took us to the next service area station. We called a cab to bring us to the border, where we were picked up by a friend, so we paid only half of what we would if the cabby would have taken us home.
I suggest a broken glow plug, which the car mechanic couldn't remove at the last repair, finally fell into the cylinder. That would make a nice four figures repair bill.
My only hope is that the damn thing was loosened and blown out by the compressed air (it's a diesel engine), or it broke into tiny pieces when hitting the piston, which were blown outside, finally before damaging the cylinder wall.

More info on monday, when the engine will be inspected.
Shit happens. Life goes on.

The good news:
I sitll didn't sell a satoshi.
Insurance extended my sickness benefit for another year.

Sure, it is possible that the bottom is already in, but it is just a matter of probabilities in regards to is the bottom in and then the other part of the question would be what are the odds that it will take longer to reach the bottom and therefore will we get a bottom in 2 weeks or will it take 3-6 months or even the more pessimistic scenarios of 1 to 2 years.  

It's not like anyone has the answer to those questions at this particular time, even though some folks have theories, and some folks might have some better ways of assigning probabilities than others to both the degree of the dip and the timeline that it will take to get to the lowest amount... but even the best (and smartest of theories) are not going to know the answers with any level of certainty, but instead be able to set themselves up in such a way that they are prepared for either direction.. or both directions, as some folks like to express the matter.

Also, if you are not being realistic in your actual assignment of probabilities and preparing for both directions, then you are likely going to end up getting screwed because you are gambling too much with what should mostly be treating as a long term investment and an investment on what appears to be one of the strongest asymmetric bets to the upside that we have ever had (as normies / regular peeps).. in terms of being available to anyone and everyone.. enemies and/or friends.. rich and poor... individuals and institutions.. governments and financial institutions... and maybe other categories that I forgot.  Aliens and bots too, perhaps?  Oh that's where you come into the picture, Save the RF.  hahahaha

I do not think that is the answer..... inflation is a bullish factor for BTC, and arguably the other factors you list.


Also, you only mention downtrend, volatility is a two way thing, otherwise we would not be having this discussion.


The thing that usually would be the answer is liquidity.... arguably the BTC market needs to grow in size, and liquidity to handle the velocity that runs through it........ and there is an argument that options and futures can be introduced,  that could help.... though, that there is a two way sword.... we want the dog to wag the tail, and not the other way around.
