161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another health benefit of online gambling on: May 02, 2024, 05:47:10 PM
I was randomly scrolling on Instagram last night and all of a sudden a fantasy football reel popped up and the guy talks about how playing fantasy football has been proven to help ones health.  Here is the link - https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6Y8nQuO-Wb/?igsh=a3d5ZGhsMzJvdmV1 .

You might have to be set up with an account to view it, but not 100% sure.  Anyways fantasy football is certainly a form of sports gambling that I love so much.  Definitely brings me a lot of happiness.
162  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MJB Monetary Metals coins to skyrocket in value? Help needed on: May 02, 2024, 02:27:34 AM

I have detailed this all in this thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5351100.0

Rob Gray who stole the design from Mick and claims as his own has been running scams for years and year and years.  This is what I've been trying to tell everyone, for years.  I just came across a bunch of old research I will be publishing soon exposing his cat and mouse game even more so. He's had countless websites, countless LLCs, countless lies and deception ..I mean I could write a 1000 page novel about it.  I will be pushing harder at JM Bullion, Amazon, Walmart, and the countless other pop up sites who sell his bullshit.  He's a con, and should be in jail.  His coins detract from Bobby Lee's Ballet coins which should be sold by JM , WalMart, Amazon etc.   It's only a matter of time however until Rob and all his bs gets busted and these companies stop selling these wallets, and maybe for good.  So ...help me spread the word, if you care about this space/hobbby and preventing others from being scammed.

Is it not sickening how little the FBI and all other US law enforcement agencies have given a shit.  As a Murican I pay their mf salaries and  they could give a fuck less it would seem.  (shout out to all those who've reached out to them regarding past scams like Tim Fillmore at Titan..which was well over a million dollars.  At least it's documented, not that we don't have enough proof of how pathetic these law enforcement agencies are).

Anyways...I will be updating the Cold Storage Coin scam thread soon.  Adding even more substantial proof of rampant fraud.  Maybe the FBI or FinCen, CIA, or any of those lazy fucks might actually step in and do something ..maybe?!

What really pisses me off is reddit mods for r/coins and other major coin/PM sub reddits.  They refuse to let me present this info.  Old timey fckrs (they just hate crypto too, even though they don't understand it, so that doesn't help).  Aaron Swartz is the legend who helped build reddit just for things like this, and his project has been ruined by dipshits and selfish turds who don't want to bring negative light to their precious sub's since they make a ton of money running them...regardless of what's right.

I had more written up here but I was just going off on a personal tangent no one cares to read through lol.  This shit just gets me worked up like no other.  Okay I need to smoke some reefers and calm down a bit.

MJB Monetary Metals were coins minted at the "Mulligan Mint", which only operated for a very short time but were known for super high-quality rounds because they were minted using old Denver Mint equipment that they had aquired in auctions. They only operated for a very short period before shutting down due to a large "missing" shipment of silver, so coins minted by Mulligan Mint will very likely fetch a higher numismatic value simply because of their extreme rarity, in the future. They are highly counterfeighted, particularly the copper "circuit board" bitcoin logo coins which made it onto so many magazine covers, but they also include the "very first" bitcoin rounds to ever hold the bitcoin logo, even before Casascius coins, as noted in the encyclopedia of physical bitcoins. So those onese are super highly prized and they sell for upwards of $300 for a single GRAM of silver.

Shoot, I saw this online a few weeks ago and completely forgot that I've got a few buddies out in HK.  I just emailed one of them asking if he might be able to source either some newspapers or magazines discussing this breakthrough for HK.  So fingers crossed he can get me some cool keep-sake collectibles regarding this historical event.

I can't imagine China is happy about this!
164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The first online cryptocurrency Casinos, when/who? on: May 01, 2024, 04:08:17 PM
The casino founded in 2012 called SatoshiDice was what I saw to be the first bitcoin casino when I make research about it.

SatoshiDice: SatoshiDice was launched in April 2012 and is considered to be the first operational Bitcoin casino, founded by Erik Voorhees.

Oh that's right!  I'm a fool, I remember just reading about it in Digital Gold.  I bought that book years ago, and remember reading it on a long flight.  I remember thinking it was fascinating, but didn't know much about the tech at the time nor the people.  I'm actually staring at the book right now on my coffee table.  I was telling a buddy about it over the weekend and how he should buy it.  I skimmed through it and started reading it again, and that came up (SatoshiDice).  It's also so cool to have gotten to know so many of the pioneers featured in that book.  Would have never imagine that happening looking back.

Anyone know if Yogg ever helped work on this site? I feel like he did, or perhaps it was some other sort of "satoshi dice" gambling program/website.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting for reality not club affection on: May 01, 2024, 04:03:59 PM
I'm kind of struggling to understand what you're saying here, but I think I got you.  The is a lesson I learned early on from Fantasy Football (a form of gambling).  My first year I draft Brandon Jacobs as he went to college with me (former NFL star player) as well as Pierre Thomas (went to HS with my x/gf and we use to hang out a bit, also a stud NFL player).  Since I had an "emotional" attachment to the two of them, it really hurt me.  Now I'm saying they weren't both great players, as they both are two of the better running backs in NFL history, but they could have been drafted lower, and by playing with my heart and not my head, it cost me.

This is why I often bet AGAINST the Chicago Bears as I know that team so well, that I won't let my fandom take over and bet on them just because they are my team.

Bet with your head, not your heart!
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / The first online cryptocurrency Casinos, when/who? on: May 01, 2024, 03:59:23 PM
Right out of college is when I started to really take gambling more seriously.  Well maybe not "seriously" but I started to care more and play more. A close friend I went to school with whom had just finished up law-school wanted to make some extra money and started acting as a bookie.  It was great for a while, but he ended up closing down ship "too much work/stress".  I had only ever really used Bovada (formerly Bodog) and I knew that when you won, you would receive some shady looking check in the main (IF you ever got it) and it took weeks to months to get to you.

When I found out bitcoin was now available on many online casinos, especially Bovada, the one I had been using for some time, I was THRILLED.  Total game changer.

That said, does anyone know when they first came about?  What year?  Who was first?  Etc...
167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: May 01, 2024, 03:54:08 PM
Very un-Dude like man. Not cool.

I do not see why someone's parents would funnel their money in to their child's account outside of the potential for tax purposes.  I use to work for a law firm where the lawyer would do this with his daughters accounts to take advantage of some tax looop-holes.  Here, this just seems like straight negligence.

I guess sometimes the Dude doesn't abide.
168  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: April 30, 2024, 03:25:04 PM
I am VERY against the whole "anti-college" nonsense that has been picking up steam over the years.  My 4 years in college were the best 4 years of my life.  Not just because of all the partying, lady friends, great friends I met and am still close to this day, but all that I learned, both in books and outside.  If you make the most out of it you gain a lot of real world experience just simply interacting with others, gaining connections as well as educating yourself.  I wouldn't be where I was today without it.

The whole "college is a waste of money since it's too expensive" crap is just that...CRAP.  At least here in the US you could go to a community college for 2 years and an "In-State" college to finish and come out with no or very little manageable debt.

It doesn't matter where you go to school mostly, it's just what you do with your degree.

That said, MBA's I often feel are a waste of time and money.  Unless it's in a certain field, I've found it to be a waste.  Lets take business school for example...why is it needed?  I don't support it for many majors.  Some, I feel differently about.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin negatives on: April 30, 2024, 03:20:00 PM
How is this thread on the main page but had yet to have bee replied to since August?

Regardless I think it's a good time to bring this back up.  My two big negatives regarding bitcoin right now are Ordinals and Runes.  I always use to tout bitcoin as the coin that was focused on other things rather than silly on chain jpegs where the blockchain is really not needed.  It's clogging the network, increasing fees, slowing down transactions etc. I feel like we are moving backwards here.

I understand this is good for the price of bitcoin as many people like this foolishness, but I want LEGIT utility, not nonsense.  Satoshi proposed escrow using cryptography and proposed as such in a thread here on the forum.  He even discussed in in his email chain with Sirius.  "I'll be working on that next".  He  never did ( I wish I knew why ) but I sure wish people would pick up the slack with that as that is GAME CHANGIGN technology !
170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: April 30, 2024, 03:14:48 PM
Lulz, every single one of them.  I have never had any sort of favorite slot machines because I don't seem to have any sort of luck that differentiates from one slot to the next, regardless of what I'm playing.  I enjoy playing slots because at times when I'm at a casino, whether online or not, my brain starts to work in overload and slots are just a fun easy way to bet..insert coins, pull lever, and see if you win.  Something refreshing about that.
171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 30, 2024, 03:13:03 PM
I know it's playoff time and all but I wanted to switch the conversation in a slightly different direction just for a brief moment.  We all know we are seeing the end of Lebron James career which is truly saddening (if you can appreciate greatness that is, and this is coming from a Bulls fan).

That said, I know he wants to play with his son, and that his son entered the "portal".  I think anyone who knows anything about basketball knows he son is not good enough to play in the NBA, but could certainly join a squad if his father wants him on one (one he's likely on, of course).  Has there been any sort of consensus if this is definitely going to happen or not yet?  I think it would be foolish and his father would be pushing his son who clearly needs time to maturate.  Thoughts?

Falcons GM Suggests Michael Penix Jr. Could Sit '4 or 5 Years' Behind Kirk Cousins

The Falcons pulled off the biggest stunner of the 2024 NFL draft so far, selecting Penix with the No. 8 pick. The move came roughly a month-and-a-half after they signed QB Kirk Cousins to a massive four-year, $180 million contract.

In '4 or 5 Years' Michael Penix Jr. will be 28+ years old.  Cheesy

I imagine NFL owners can't fire their general managers during the draft, right? It hasn't happened before? I mean, drafting an injury-prone quarterback in the first round after signing Cousins to a $100 mill guaranteed contract is completely insane, beyond the realm of brain dead.

Six quarterbacks selected in the top 12 screams desperation, and it's not like this year's QB class is anything special outside of Caleb Williams.

"4 or 5 Years" is just him being diplomatic, they will be lucky to get 3 good years out of cousins before age takes him down and a few years behind a QB like cousins will give them a Franchise QB for the forseeable future so it looks like a great move to me.

All these tard coaches that run out a rookie QB from the draft are killing the qb's as well as the teams chances for years to come.

Greenbay does it right and the other teams need to learn from them rather than saying they keep getting "Lucky".

Also, they might be forced to make this rookie their qb1 because according to some articles Kirk Cousins has not yet healed to 100% from his injury on his teared achilles. If he is 100% healed and he will play on week 1, I speculate that it will not be an assurance that he can play for the whole season.

In any case, how to follow college football? Where to begin? I am very much confused because it appears to have different leagues.

Yeah it would almost seems that there is something about Kurt Cousins that the Flacons are just not letting us in on (ie potential injury woes).  I am still shocked and we are coming up on a week later already.

As for college football there's genreally 3 different teirs.  It use to be division III as the lowest (small schools), and then Division 1 (Big 10, Pac 12, SEC etc) and Division 1AA which was for schools such as my own that are mid-major type schools. Southern Illinois University, Western Illinois. Appalachian State, etc.  I think it's call FCS as Div 1 is called FBS.  Kind of confusing but jus think of it as 3 tiers. 1 of cour being the highest.
173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling addiction lead to domestic violence? on: April 29, 2024, 01:00:09 AM
I mean you could put this same scenario in many different circumstances and they end up turning out to being a “source of violence “ or “domestic violence”.  So I wouldn’t say it’s something that is directly correlated but it certainly could lead to it, but so could a lot of other things. Just don’t be a gambling junky and control yourself and all will be fine, no?
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone you introduced to BTC says the risks of her funds is on you on: April 29, 2024, 12:56:34 AM
This is kind of a funny time seeing this thread as I’ve been making a massive external hard drive archive of everything in my life that I’ve saved from jpegs to audio files to video files etc and one thing I recently came across was a screen shot of a buddy saying he sent my NBA betting picks to a friend and that “I better have gotten them right” lol. To this day I don’t know if he was joking or not, but this kind of stuff is never on you, and it’s silly anyone would every try and hold someone else accountable in a circumstance of educating or telling someone about bitcoin.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cold Wallet - The First Real Crypto Movie on: April 29, 2024, 12:52:10 AM
Just watched the trailer. I am surprised this is the first I’m hearing about it. Can’t wait to go watch this whether in the theater or when it comes to DVD/ some streaming platform. The only thing that kind of sucks is I’m pretty sure I just saw a Ledger wallet in the clip lol. I just absolutely despise ledger wallets. But that’s me. Thanks for making this post !
176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: April 29, 2024, 12:48:27 AM
Here in the United States I would say middle aged people are easily the biggest group of gamblers. The 30-50 age ranges. I fall in this range and I’m in a few text groups of buddies from college and it seems like damn near every one of us are gamblers. Small or big we all seem to make bets fairly regularly. It’s fun to talk about and see what people are doing versus yourself .
177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 29, 2024, 12:46:19 AM
Watched a few of the games so far tonight. Decent games. Was surprised seeing the Clippers take out the Mavs, and tying up the series. Definitely interested in how that series is going to end up. Then watched the Knicks and Sixers games a bit. Still kinda hard to believe the Knicks have been doing so well, especially getting a 2 seed. Will be interesting to see how these other games play out.
178  Economy / Collectibles / Re: MJB Monetary Metals coins to skyrocket in value? Help needed on: April 27, 2024, 08:19:18 PM
I've shared a few posts over the years to try and educate best practices.  Things like, most having no clue how to redeem a physical btc.  This instructional video may be the best one to date.. https://youtu.be/gjJZbrzBiR0?si=8rLVhBzFBf0rDp73

Not sure if I ever shared this one, but here's the worlds smartest human giving his assessment on our hobby- https://youtu.be/ImKO3_eITsA?si=He1YLA0MQVAx7eZz

BUT, this one...

I need some help translating ( is this Russian/ Croatian ?? ). I've got a lot of these coins and think I'm booking a flight out east asap..  You likely need an Insta account to view.  There is also an 18+ rating (at least here in Murica).  I wouldn't say it's NSFW, but prob shouldn't play out loud if this is in your native language lol.  I screen recorded the video and tried to upload to Imgur, but it wouldn't work. Not sure what other programs might.  If you've got an insta account though, you're good- https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3vQosmMXlE/?igsh=MWg4Yzk2enVuNDlwNw==

Oh, I see! Haha, I watched this series some time ago. It's a comedic Russian series where a guy tries to sell a coin to a woman, but she just wants to show her rich man that she's capable of making money on her own. In Russian films and series, there are many instances involving Bitcoin, not just this kind of comedy, but also about mining and other topics. There was also another series where a girl would go to elderly people who is in retirement and set up mining rigs there. She would pay them a little and tell them it's just a computer doing some security stuff, reassuring them not to worry. She did this all over the city and had more than 100 apartments involved.

Thanks so much! I was genuinely really curious what was going on. So they are acting like coin is legitimately actual bitcoin?  I was pretty confident it was a prostitute lol.
179  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial Advice for a young millionaire on: April 26, 2024, 08:57:27 PM
To first not go by what anyone here says.  Now I could properly guide one, and so can some others, but most can't, and really there's no way for you to know if I'm legit, or if anyone is , for that matter.  I guess I could provide my CRD #, which for an American is your virtual code, that identifies you as a financial advisor.  If someone is trying to work with you and your finances and can't product this, you know they aren't legit.

But my advice is to work with a season advisor who is open minded.  Don't go to a bank for one (Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America), don't go to a company like Northwestern Mutual who thinks it's okay to sell everyone Whole Life Insurance, nor a company like Fisher Investments who encourages people to "We hate Annuities and you should to", ie sell them before out of surrender, as well as produces a brochure chalk full of bullshit and won't address it (a buddy and myself wrote them a letter as members of a large broker dealer firm, and they refused to address it.  We pointed out the lies, misconception and hypocrisy.  AMAZING that the SEC allows it.  Well, pathetic, not amazing).  Best firm to hire someone to help would be an independent one..Raymond James, Edward Jones type.

Never go to free meal financial meet ups ( just had a client tell me about being invited to one, she told me she "ended up feeling back for the guy, and bought an annuity from him for about 30k.  Nothing wrong with that, technically, until she told me it was the Allianz 222 which is a bonus annuity and famous for being utilized as a scam by advisor.  No such things as bonuses in finance, at all !!!

Be careful out there everyone.
180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has Satoshi's identity never been revealed ? on: April 26, 2024, 08:46:33 PM
This stuff comes up all the time, to the pleasure and excitement of Theymos no doubt lol, but I forgot how much of this info was in the book Digital Gold.  I read Digital Gold right after "reading" (if you want to call it that) Mastering Bitcoin.  Before ever even thinking about owning any btc (I study too much sometimes).

What's so cool is I was talking to a buddy last night about the book, we just really kinda met in the past few months so talk about a lot of this stuff I talked about years ago with most buddies here..but I realize how little I knew at the time of reading that book. Going back and skimming some pages and highlighting some things to send him to show him some examples of what the book is all about, it discusses all this stuff.  Lot of talk around people I ended up getting to know, getting to chat with, being yelled at (hey Nick Szabo lol) ..just such a fun look back at how little I knew then compared to what I know now.  And becoming buddies with some of these pioneers, and even just having slight interactions ..just so happy to be a tiny speck a part of it.  I think we all are, or at least those who are here for more than just sig money and bountys and whatever else that's money involved.  Sure I'm here for that, but that's secondary.

Anyways, pick up the book Digital Gold, you wont regret it!  (oh and I always thought Satoshi registered bitcoin.org and that somewhere a company had his real info, but it was Sirius who did that at his request.  Satoshi thought of freaking everyting!)
