GTX1080Ti  684sol/s 0.3.1b Smiley
is it OC'ed?

I missed this. I also want to know if OC'd?

By calculating, the 1070 is still far greater in ROI

684 sols/s @ $500 has a much faster ROI than 450 sols/s @ $400. The GTX 1080ti will ROI 60 sooner if it really does 684 sol/s.

My 1070's do 490 Sol/s

Even at 450 here is some math. When dividing the investment cost of a 1070 and Sol/s with the 1080ti, the 1080ti gets 50% higher hashes while costing 75% more almost. You actually gave me a regular GTX 1080 price rather than the 1080ti there

That is a slower ROI for the 1080ti

Of course after hitting the ROI you stand to gain from higher hashing so depending on how long ZEC or another coin remains profitable it can be a better investment after 2 years+ but that is a lot of foresight. Right now we're in a bubble for mining profits with ETH going PoS in a few months and the net hash flooding everything else.

@EWBF. you miner really good. using it long time. question: when you put option no fee? already paid many coins to you. just show some love to me and i give more love to you. you like that? Grin Grin

Yes, i will add option "fee" which will allow you set devFee manually for example --fee 0 is no fee --fee 1 is 1% etc. This option will be added in version 0.3.3b and released around march 20th.

Aren't you worried people will just set it to 0? Maybe just lower it to 1% or 1/2%, the increased adoption will probably even out in the end.

Like Claymore the nofee option will come with a decrease in performance. The best way people to have a no fee miner is
to code one yourself. Just try to and in the end you will be more than happy to pay a small fee. Well i am.

Low temp do much good for efficency.

Is this good with Asus GTX 1060? I don't know how to moddify bios. Can anyone help me? Smiley

Looks ok. What is the problem? Smiley

Is anyone using EWBF on linux and if so can you tell me how you are OC the cards?  I am using the nvidia-settings and I am setting core, mem and fan speed but I feel like I am missing something else.

nope, that's how you OC.

In MSI afterburner I have a PowerLimit and TempLimit, do those correlate to nvidia-settings.  I have searched and looked at many articles and cannot find anything.  Just wandering if setting the fan speed in linux is how temp limit is handled in MSI afterburner

TempLimit is the temp you allow the card to reach before shutting down.
You adjust the fan curve to maintain the temp below your TempLimit. Ideally 55c to 65c.

For anyone interested, pimpOS has an nvidia release that uses EWBF as 1 of the miner options.  I had to do some tweaking to get OC settings to start on bootup but working great out of the box.
Yep that OS is promising.

I assumed that NiceHash would keep up with their GUI miner and I was thrown off by the reported hash rate for a 1070 stated in the OP

I am getting 470-475 Sol/sec average on one of my 2 1070's and this is the crappy one at that

I would usually flip between NiceHash ZEC and EWBF ZCL for holding based on when the NiceHash exchange rate is within normal mining profitability or when they are shorting me in the earnings projection on the GUI. Thing is I can't make EWBF miner read in the NiceHash GUI if I were to use this for ZEC dumping

Seems like by calculations I make 2 dollars a month more by using EWBF even after factoring both the dev fee and the pool/exchange fee.

Wth, how are you getting 470+ on 1070?
Which brand do you have? Which settings? I can get like 420-430 at most with my KFA2 card.

MSI GTX 1070  465 S/s core +245 mem +490
                     445 S/s if i reduce power to 60 %

I think the KFA2 is already maxed OCed out of the box. Just my opinion.

174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EWBF's CUDA Zcash miner on: February 24, 2017, 11:24:01 PM
I've been using AMD rigs for a while, and I thought I'd try my hand with some CUDA boards.

I have a rig with Windows 10x64, 378.66 drivers, and three Geforce 1080 boards. For some reasons, Windows keeps shutting down one of the boards. If I click on it and have it find the drivers, it install older drivers. All three boards do work then however with the older driver.

When I run EWBF, the hashrate starts out around what I would expect and then quickly decays.

My questions:
1. Are the 378.66 drivers required? If so, any clues on why one of the boards doesn't like it?
2. Why the decaying hashrate? I've not mucked with any settings yet. These are stock.
3. Are the hash rates from Linux comparable to Windows? I'm much more comfortable with Unix.

NOTE: I do have the BIOS set to integrated graphics chip. This I've found makes managing things much easier. The motherboard is a MSI Z97.
I would bet that if you switch the card with another that would indicate the culprit is the slot it is in.
I think that it indicates a conflict with the integrated graphic.
Tried Disabling it ?

It's not funny as you obviously don't get the point of sticking to a topic and not spamming a thread with unrelated chat convo.
But I see you belong to the category troll.
If you would have to put yourself into a category what would it be?

Help me decide guys...

2x GTX 1060 3gb $388 ($194 each) or
1x GTX 1070       $389

my budget is $390. only

which is the best investment for mining?

Thanks

whats you electricity cost?? 2x1060 faster more power..
                                      1x1070 slower more efficient

hmmmm.  Undecided taking out the electricity cost... so 2x1060 is more likely to generate more cryptocurrency? expecially ZCash?

yeah it's better, you can get 280 with one toal 560 sol vs 450 sol for a 1070

Right but... do you have any expansion plan?

I f you do not plan to expand than go with 2x 1060
If you plan to expand and add more cards then you will thank yourself by going with efficiency. 6x 1070 for example.
But all this might will change when NVidia release a new card. Than 1080 will drop in price and will be the card of choice.
Well my choice that is.

Someone just told me it is not good for a rig to restart it once a day.  Undecided
What do you think?

Having now issues with my Zotac GTX1070 Mini and driver 378.66.
Even you rebooted the system it stays? does the GPU goes into boost when using GPU-Z Render Test?

I rebooted, reinstalled the driver and it is still the same. Didn't try GPU-Z render test but does it matter?

Try to shut down all unnecessary programs, especially chrome, steam and other gaming platforms in the tray. The usually block the boost.

I really hope its all those, but its clean installation of window 7. Any other setting that affect boosted core?

I remembered a post from a user -taylub page 81- givin the advise below. Hope it helps.

open the nvidia control panel and in the "manage 3D settings", change power management mode to maximum performance (adaptive should work too).  The default is power saving for some reason.
