161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Burst Vs Storj Sept 2017 on: September 26, 2017, 02:50:45 AM
BURST profit is getting lesser, but I think still better than Storj. I'm still using my free harddisk space to mine BURST right now.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX460 4GB 78°C It is normal is? on: September 26, 2017, 02:43:46 AM
My fan setting is around 70-90%, the highest temp is 73C. It should be good if we could reduce temperature below 70C, but IMO under 75C is acceptable.

Yes, it is better under 75C to prolong GPU lifespan.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lowest PC specs to mine. on: September 26, 2017, 01:48:50 AM
Hello and good day. Iam thinking about mining but I dont have a knowledge about it but I am interested on how to start. ive seen a youtube video that they mine using PC's so i was thinking maybe i can use my old pc. I have some PC here lying around its a amd  Athlon processor 2 cores running at 2.0 ghz with 4 gigs of ram and the gpu is integrated. My question is if I upgrade at least the gpu to Nnidia GeForce GTX 670 which is mostly available to my place. How much ETH will Ill be able to mine for a day?

The problem with Ethereum mining is the DAG size which currently requires 4 GB of video memory which older cards usually don't have. And even if you happen to have an integrated card with that much of VRam, performance simply won't cut it to be viable.

3GB cards still work and will continue to do so for a while.
As the only CURRENT card model that is worth mining with that has 3GB is the smaller GTX 1060, though, it's not a common option.

It's entirely possible to set up a dedicated mining machine on 30 GB or less of HD space - a 32 GB USB flash drive is entirely practical - if you use LINUX instead of Windows.
A SSD in a mining machine is overkill - you do NOT need the speed - and the cost tends to be a lot higher per GB.
Also, many motherboards shut down one or more PCI-E slots when a NVMe type SSD is used.

I know SSD is not neccesary for mining rig, but I didn't know it will shut down PCIE slot on some mobos.

A real free airdrop from POSToken, not twitter campaign, not signature campaign, and yet newbie is allowed.

https://airdrop.postoken.org/?r=60lhvw1a

Rules:-
1.One person can only register for once. If it is discovered that multiple registrations belong to the same person, your registration will fail.
2.All members include newbies are eligible.
3.All accounts registered on bitcointalk.org after August 22, 2017 are not qualified.
4.Bitcointalk accounts with negative trust are not qualified.
5.All accounts accept airdrop need to keep 90% of the tokens received on the account during the whole airdrop period.
6.All accounts who accept airdrop should pay close attention to PoSToken including our ANN thread and website and twitter or others from official.
7.Final explanation right belongs to the PoSToken Dev Team.

BTW, please read OP at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2110712.0 for the instruction on registration.

Nice airdrop, registered under you. Basically we have to add ethereum address at Location field of our bitcointalk account during registration.

Thanks for the details, I was wondering why there is error in registration and there is no such field to input ethereum address. LOL
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard suggestion on: September 24, 2017, 04:04:56 AM
ASUS PRIME Z270-A LGA1151 DDR4 DP HDMI DVI M.2 USB 3.1 Z270 ATX Motherboard
I have 4 rigs with this motherboard, feel very happy with it, one of the best 270 chipset motherboard, "easy" to set up to support 7 GPUs

MSI Enthuastic Gaming Intel Z170A LGA 1151 DDR4 USB 3.1 ATX Motherboard (Z170A Gaming M5)
my favorite 170 chipset motherboard, very very easy to set up to support 7 GPUs, and always available on Amazon.com

Just got the ASRock H110 Pro BTC today and I'm super impressed, it was practically plug and play for 5+ GPUs

I would suggest ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ as well, as it supports 13 GPU, well worth $$$.
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptonight ASIC Miners? on: September 24, 2017, 04:02:24 AM
For a long time we did not believe that scrypt ASICs was possible, then X11 ASICs appeared...

Yes, I agreed. New technology will come and every algorithm can be ASIC, just the matter of time.
168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lowest PC specs to mine. on: September 24, 2017, 03:57:05 AM
GTX670 is abit too old, I don't quite know about it, but please ensure it is at least 3GB or you will not be able to mine ETH now.
169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: P106-100 Graphics Card on: September 24, 2017, 03:51:34 AM
Yeah I am still interested in the new P-104 card when it comes out.  Although from what I understand the launch continues to get pushed back.

I can't find the news about it at all, but if P-104 about same price as GTX1070, then I will rather take GTX1070. At least the resale value is better.
170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Coin Wallets with mining function? on: September 24, 2017, 03:48:16 AM
You can try Intense Coin, it has nice wallet with built in CPU mining. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2090765.0

Any hashrate calculator and hashrate comparison between different CPU?
171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 📈🔺[ANN] My Big Coin 🏙[MBC] - ⛏️PoS - SCRYPT⛏️ - 💎 AIRDROP LIVE! 💎 on: September 24, 2017, 03:46:24 AM
Vote for My Big Coin to get on the C-CEX Exchange!

Take a look here: https://c-cex.com/?id=vote

If you have an account to cast a free vote or some spare BTC lying around (at least 0.001) then this contribution will really benefit the entire My Big Coin community in the long run.

Votes will not be reset, so there is potential to get on there next week.

We are rewarding 3 MBC per vote.

For some unknown reasons, I cannot vote for free now. I wish to help at voting but paying BTC is not worth 3 MBC, or maybe I'm wrong because I saw 100 over BTC votes?
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: September 24, 2017, 03:39:45 AM
which cards have the best chance for Samsung Memorys ?
Gigabyte, Asus, Evga etc. ?
What is your Exp. ?
i found some wired KFA2 or Palit ? what is with this Brand ...

one month ago I bought 6x EVGA 6g cards.

I received 4 of them that were Samsung, and 2 of them were hynix.

I've ordered 4 other EVGA a week a go that seem to have a 9g core clock instead of 6g core clock... I didn't made any test yet since I'm waiting to receive my gpu open air case frame. Was supposed to receive it september 15th and still didn't received it yet.

I'll make a test in the next hours on my normal comp with one of these and let you up to date.

Did you check the manufacturing date? Are they all the same?
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: i7 mining? on: September 24, 2017, 03:38:30 AM
if you have a haswell or newer generation i7 and overclock it, you can make like a a few pennies a day if you have cheap electricity.

You're right, I have one i7 7700 and I can see the performance, but the heat henerated is much much more than old i7, so a water cooler is preferred for mining purpose.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 GPU Board on: September 20, 2017, 02:48:03 AM
hi Guys, does this board work well with simplemining?

Yes works great, I have 2 rigs with that mobo and SMOS.

So, do you use same GPU type for all the 13 slots in SMOS?
175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: i7 mining? on: September 20, 2017, 02:45:22 AM
Personally from me, the mining on processors has long gone obsolete. If they come up with a new algorithm  you can have a couple of weeks of mining

It is still more efficient to mine the Monero with good CPU.

what cpu miner are you using? i have a xeon 1271 V3 sitting around and doing nothing and would like to mine XMR, but with old ccminer miner i was getting like 90 h/s :/

Can you use ccminer to mine by cpu? I thought we have to use cpuminer instead?
176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Owners of GTX 1060, what is your hashrate? on: September 20, 2017, 02:44:07 AM
I have a GTX 1060 rig with EVGA SCC 6GB cards.

I have overclocked settings of
Memory +950 MHz
Clock -100 MHz
Power target of 45%

I'm running around 23 MH/s using about 70Watts per card.

Nice settings with low power consumption  Smiley
177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DDOS & SWAP - Increase ETH network congestions! (Join the Airdrop list!) on: September 20, 2017, 02:42:00 AM

i added both of this coins into my custom token in myetherwallet.
is that correct? when the distributions will be held?

Do we have to add SWAP token into our ethereum account? I thought airdrop distribution only for DDOS token?

In order to get special airdrop is to vote at c-cex and coingather, am I right?
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what is a good coin to mine with cpu on: September 19, 2017, 05:19:35 AM
what is a good coin to mine with cpu? I have 3x  amd radeon A9  cpu
Two coins are CPU mineable today with perhaps little earns.
It's depends of wich CPUs and AMD CPUs are not the bests for mining.

Tell that to the folks running Threadripper or Epyc CPUs.

 9-)

The huge hashrates you see out of some Xeon based machines are usually multi-CPU and need to be divided by the number of CPUs - then factor in that any Xeon that manages more hashrate than the AMD Ryzen 1800x is a MUCH MORE EXPEN$IVE CPU that on a cost-basis comparison should be getting compared to the Threadripper line or the Epyc.

On the other hand, some older used E5 Xeon based machines can be had pretty cheap for the hashrate - just watch the power consumption....

Yes, some old xeon machines are will worth for cpu mining.
180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best GPU's to mine ZCASH with? on: September 19, 2017, 05:16:57 AM
I personally like an 8 GPU build with RX 5series cards and that hashes at about 2200h/s no OC.
With OC settings and BIOS mods for AMD cards as effective as they are on the 4 and 5 series cards I could see that hashrate going up by at least 35-40%

I think zcash is nvidia friendly, it is better to use nvidia card instead of AMD.
