1601  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 715 remaining on: July 01, 2013, 04:57:19 PM
Still in the dark here- go easy guys -im new to this
Does this mean i can place an order now for 10 fully assembled/tested miners? Is the cost $133 for each or do I need to add the cost of chips on top of this? How do I know how many bitcoin to pay-as in what is the exchange rate? When is the expected shipping date?

1.  Pay for your chips (16 per miner). These are paid in BTC at the price in the original post the address to pay to is in the post too.  Make sure you can sign a message from your sending address if the need arises.

2.  Email steamboat at the address in that post.  There's no need to post here that you bought x amount of chips -- just send him the email.

3.  He'll email you back confirmation and give you the website to pay for the rest of the miner (everything but the chips -- this is the $133 + shipping part).  When you checkout on the website it will tell you the exchange rate and you'll pay in BTC for that.

Overall one complete miner will be 1.376 BTC (chips) + $133.50 (PCB/assembly) + Shipping.  Total around $290 or 2.9 BTC depending on the exchange rate.

Expected shipping is 10 weeks for the chips to get to steamboat and then hopefully not more than 1-2 weeks for assembly and shipping to you.

If they are legit, they could have problems with refunds if all their BTC are tied up in preorders.  There's no way for them to refund until new people purchase.

It's interesting that a Sunday was chosen as a deadline, and July 1 is a holiday in several countries.

It's most likely that the money for assembly is going wherever it's going on Monday morning, so Sunday would make sense.

It's nice to see more boards, but you should consider putting more avalons on there for economy.

Only if you buy 100 and get them tomorrow.

How does the amount purchased affect profitability at all. Makes no sense.

D

Well it affects the absolute value

No I wont get fired. I own the place. Our lease is full service - we lease a floor of a building.  There are other tenants on other floors. The building does not have floor metering - only a single master meter for power of the whole building - which is why we dont have to pay for power.

As the owner you obviously know how that mining at 100% GPU use will lead to increased maintenance costs of the cluster -- only you can determine whether it's worth it.

You should install ntp if it's not installed.
You can also try:  hwclock --set --date="2013-06-29 12:00:00" (put in correct utc time there)

What does it say if you query:
hwclock --debug

and what does 'date' say?

There hasn't been any info on how to specify how to have your chips delivered.  Just assembled.  So just hold tight and I'm sure we'll hear more when the chips are closer to arriving.

The inquiries are mounting....   Undecided

Ah well, they have a tendency to do that.
Often followed by responses, and then more inquiries … spinning wheel, round & round

Apparently there is some impatience sprinkled on the wheel too.

Price - we will negotiate, but no less tnan daily profit of LTC.

Why would anyone pay anything but less than what they would make? What's the point?

There must be something in pywallet.  (Or it should be easy to add if there isn't)

Do you mean the distribution of BTC in each of your addresses?

I think a K16 is a better choice.

You're welcome to pay for a few singles and I'll host them for a 20% fee plus electricity!  But really they're pretty much plug and play, you should just buy them yourself.

There are a lot of scams out there (more scams than real products), so beware.
1619  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 715 remaining on: June 28, 2013, 11:55:47 PM
Finally got my order in. I was worried I might not make it before the deadline. Order #100000125 for 4 miners sent! If I have spare chips (I bought 4 extra) will they just ship along with the miners?

Earlier he said we could either get them shipped to us or get a refund on them, I'm not sure if that's still the plan.

They say that eating protein after you work out will help your muscles repair faster which will decrease soreness.
