Aloha!
Is it possible mining quark with minerd on 6/8 cores on my gpu mining rig at the same time i´m mining doge e.g with my gpus? or will it reduce my overall hashrate ?
I´ve read that it is important to let 1 core idle for cgminer. is that enough ? oder should I let more cores idled?
thank you for your help
push Yes it is. I use the CPU-Limit command on linux as a way of giving Quark a percentage of my 8 cores (AMD FX 8350). I've given QRK 50% of the CPU and DOGE 50%. But, it seemed I only need to run the command for one of them and the other, of course, took the remaining (equal) amount. There is also a command to give the miner so many cores. I know I've ran that as well when starting DOGE, just as an experiment. You will have to look that up. As far as giving CGMINER a core, I haven't, and everything is fine. Right now I'm running my 8 cores full on QRK. I needed an aftermarket CPU cooler though (True Spirit 120M) to cool it 20 degrees! (Just air) IAS thank you ! okay i orderd a new cooler .. my boxed one is not enough

thx ! I will check this.. but need another cooler first I think

If someone can make this a reality, then consider me as your investor.

Haha right. Mining this coin only contributes to more energy consumption and global warming. You can thank Max for that.
Yes... the irony of this had not been lost on me... but with human innovation and smarter programming, hopefully chips and graphics cards will eventually become less power hungry. Right it's a race to the bottom. Atm PCs consume more and more power. We've had 100PSU then 150, then 200 then 300, 340, 400, 500 W. Now not even 500 is enough you need 1000 wat PSU. Miners keep buying more power hungry cards and do Quad crossfire n shit and put 4 cards on a mobo or even 8 cards. It's nonsense basically. Also check the mining operation of some professional miners. I own shares on one of those. They keep getting power network upgrades on regular basis as operation is very power hungry. Yes agreed, power consumption is adding to global fuel consumption which potentially becomes part of the problem... but there has to be a payoff between a system that begins to allow transparency and fairness to the current alternative... systems that eat power but are contributing to the wealthy staying in control and f***ing it up for humanity... We all run fridges, washing machines, heating but if the computer in your house is contributing to THE network that provides the machine that decentralises the power of wealth and slowly takes it away from the 1% who currently have it then that power is being put to good use in that it begins to readdress the balance. People will slowly stop mining shitcoins and provide power to the best coins (and other crypto apps) that actually achieve this aim... as the best ones will be the ones that will naturally have the highest growth/investment potential. Another thing that should be remembered here is that crypto is at only at the early stages of its evolution and its use as a global ledger to make all trading and wealth distribution more transparent. Max, through his Maxcoin initiative is part of that journey. His experience and time investment in launching this coin will help him to gain hands on knowledge of the system so look out out for MaxShares, MaxStocks, MaxFunds, MaxTrade, MaxExchange, MaxLoans, MaxMortgages, MaxPay, MaxDerivatives, MaxGold, MaxCard, MaxCredit... this is just the begining folks:-) You can do all of the above with a proof of stake currency. You don't need mining. Max could have issues a 100% proof of stake currency if he cared about the environment. good one^^

All founder funds were moved into their own separate wallets. This was to combat a long string of transactions that had failed to confirm. The user who invested 2 BTC has received a refund of 1 BTC from his personal wallet and I am sure he can vouch. On release, founders will be receiving a link to their personalized wallet via e-mail. There will be a period of two weeks in which direct founders will get access to the main net before anyone else. This is to reward early investors for taking the risk. The Kickstarter page has been completed and submitted for their review. I have had little time to code these past few days between this project and real life work and family. I still need help with a GUI, it is likely that I will need to release with the current command line client, but it works just as good. There are four days left to buy in for anyone that wants to participate in the two week closed "beta", which is what I will be calling it.
Good to hear about the 2 week beta. +1 looking for it!

Hi guys ! I'm still there, no worries, and coming with good news. I created a flash game for giveaways : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=433907.msgThe top 20 scores will get prizes at the end of next week. Also, I sent messages to exchanges platform, so I think we should hit the market soon. For promotion of the coin I would need a marketer. If you are interested with the position, please pm me. There is of course, a big bounty for you if you get recruited, but I need somebody who could show me proof of his marketing ability. Thanks for supporting the coin, and please most impotantly : keep mining ! that's the only way to grow !Cheers ! That's really good news! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) +1

difficulty 6 this thing is rising... but a new homepage and some news would be plus of attention ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) We should spread the info, get more miners, bigger network, greater hype I agree. Also dev hasn't been too active on this thread lately. I would like to hear what future plans he/she has for this coin. I think one of the issues right now is to get more miners to the other pools also besides validerror pool. +1 seems dying.. i am 15%of the whole network :S with which rate? it´s to less support right now.....

I have employed a web designer/graphic artist who is in the process of creating a web site and the graphics used in the Kickstarter. I am still looking for someone that can help me create and edit videos. The burn client is complete and bug free, but I still need a working GUI. I will be setting a cap of 1 BTC per investor. Any funds sent above this amount will be returned.
love to hear this !
