There is only supply and demand. Our wishes or fears about price are in our heads not the market. So the price of a bitcoin is what people are paying. It is never high or low, it is exactly right for that moment. One could "calculate" a price, but if people will not buy or sell at that price it's irreverent.

It's important to remember that it's not total supply that matters in the supply/demand equation. It's the available supply that matters. If people hold on to their Bitcoin, available supply starts to dry up and prices go up (despite the ever increasing total supply). Of course the opposite happens when large holders dump. Available supply increases and prices Ho down.

That's true.

My guess is the big mining companies trying to pay for electricity.
Also the fact that Bitcoin payment processors convert their customers coins to fiat instantly.

because alot of people are sat on their hands waiting for someone else to make bitcoin acceptable in their local area..

it's kind of like waiting around all year hoping someone will knock on your door wanting to mow your lawn for free, instead of getting off your ass and cutting your own grass..

luckily i done my bit and im living happily off of bitcoin and buying what i need using bitcoin. my fiat bank account has been left derelict for a few years now. if you too want a life without bitcoin, then you need to speak to your local shops and inform them about bitcoin. else the only thing you can do in your area is treat bitcoin like a stock.

I come back after three months to see if bitcoiners had given up and gotten jobs yet, here is bitcoin news summary of the three months:

1. No news (other than bad)

2. Lot's of news (none good)

3. Scams, wasteful and inefficient mine losses continue as they always do, and always will until zero. There is not even a point enumerating them, like counting cavities in a meth mouth

4. bitcoin remains confined largely to darknet uses such as child pornography, drug and weapons sales and human trafficking funds for ISIS

5. The vast majority of people (99.99%) when asked, "do you bitcoin?" respond "huh?" whereas the remaining: "yes that's an obvious fraud" (0.009%) or "yes I have been defrauded" (0.0009%) or "yes I am a Chinese/Ukrainian/Silicon Valley hacker that defrauds with bitcoin" (0.0001%).

Anything related to Silkroad is a hot potato and people would think twice to donate, if they not sure that the money is going to someone who is innocent and a real victim.

Nice, but we are not talking about a retrial due to the "rogue" agents.
We are talking about a dismiss of all electronic evidence due to them being fabricated.
That means a retrial with whatever else evidience they have, which means jack shit.

If the evidnce given to the court were fabricated, then several heads should fall and it ain't gonna be Ross's.

I heard Satoshi originally wanted to pass the key on to Hal Finney but because of his unfortunate condition Satoshi decided to give it to Gavin instead.

I believe so yes.
God bless Hal's soul, he was a great person and contributed to many things that provided more freedom to the rest of us.
