1601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a new sportsbook gain trust? on: June 24, 2022, 11:55:20 PM
I mean obviously they just need to be legit and payout when they should.  Don't lock accounts incorrectly and make it easy for people to get money in and out of theor account.  Start with a small group.offer bonuses to draw people in and just be legit.  It's pretty simple.

That's a good start, fast payout, and no locked accounts in question unless the reason is really valid and sites can show proof of irregularities. Sometimes, users really need to risk some of their money when testing a new sportsbook if the bonus is really catchy and interesting. Without those good promotions, users won't take a risks.

If at some point a user is really doubtful even they want to taste that good promotion and bonuses, no choice for them but to wait for more days, weeks, or months just to collect reviews from anyone to see if the site is responsive to the community.

Having an ANN thread here is a must for any new sportsbook. It was the gateway for open communication between the site and users.
1602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: June 24, 2022, 11:41:46 PM
Of course, bitcoin dumping has an impact on all gamblers and all cryptocurrency fans. When the bitcoin market is dumping we have seen all marketing become dumping. This leads to the destruction of all cryptocurrency Bitcoin Ethereum BNB and other ALT coin. From this dumping, people's minds become gambling with investment in gambling with investment. When dumping, people can't read anything properly.

I don't understand what are you trying to point out. Isn't it more convenient for the gamblers if the price is dumped as they will save some $$$ while taking advantage of a much quantity in return unlike before when their $100 is just around BTC0.0025 or something around that number?

Aside from that, if these gamblers are gambling with crypto mostly, BTC1 is still BTC1 regardless of the exchange rate.

Gamblers are just focused on how to win in gambling regardless of the price trend. The ones who are most affected here are traders as price trend is the key for them to make profits. Different from the earning methods in the usual gambling.
1603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: KSA Initiates Slot Arcades Investigation as Role Model Ad Ban Looms on: June 24, 2022, 11:32:58 PM
Again, this begs the question. Does self-exclusion actually work? And in this case, will the gamblers be punished also for failing to take responsibility for their recovery from addiction despite registering in the self-exclusion scheme?

Regardless of any moves to control gambling behavior, the effectiveness of any method will also depend on how determined the person is to help themselves cope with their gambling problems. Even how good the gambling recovery program is, if the gambler itself is not participating very well, that was all useless.

Self-exclusion is a good program and there's no question about that. But since gamblers always find a way, they might violate their own purpose why they self-exclude themselves from that particular casino or gambling site.

I also don't see preventing role models to advertise casinos will help with the issue. There are lots of marketing strategies that gambling operators can use and if that country is a gambling-friendly country, no need for any promotional activities when it comes to gambling.
1604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: June 24, 2022, 11:16:34 PM
Maybe its time to retire or continue to play until his body wont really be doing good anymore? He had already achieved and been recognized but hate to say this that there are much more better younger players which could able to surpass on what he currently able to do.

Retirement should not even be an option. There is surely still a lot of gas left on the tank, so lots that he can still bring dominance on the court. He just needs some good teammates now to assist him as carrying a team is not the heavy toll that he should do always.

He can still be aggressive at some point and we see that last season.

Anyways, OP should now lock the thread as the discussion is now getting nowhere. The Finals already ended weeks ago. Smiley
1605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Type of Gambler Am I? on: June 24, 2022, 11:05:49 PM
Nothing really special to me regardless of what category should I fall off. Too much technicality in gambling and I don't agree that it should be necessary to know.

Just try to remain disciplined and responsible at all times. If you can't do it, then that's a problem and gambling might not be for you. I've been gambling for almost 20 years now and experienced good wins and devastating losses already and that experience makes me a better gambler while I'm progressing.

Gambling is not a joke. If anyone doesn't understand the risks here, stop, ignore, skip or if really determined to learn, try to build an experience here.
1606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 24, 2022, 10:47:27 PM
Brooklyn Nets don't just have to think about Kyrie Irving.

There's another DIVA there that is always in a dramatic scene too like Irving and that's Ben Simmons.

They should find a way to utilize this player next season and not just allow him to just sit whenever he wants. Ben Simmons didn't play yet for the Nets after the trade and even don't have an ass to play in front of the Sixers crowd. Nets should do something about their DIVAS and try to surround their main guy, Kevin Durant, with good role players.

Seems Kyrie will be in a different jersey next season that's why Simmons should now back to his usual.
1607  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Casinos Vs Ethereum Casinos on: June 24, 2022, 10:38:38 PM
After reading this article, I thought about starting to use an Ethereum Casinos. What do you think about this?

I still prefer to use the centralized ones for a simple reason of convenience but won't mostly use either BTC or ETH to save some fees. In choosing casinos, one of the good factors is, that there should be lots of supported coins rather than it was only limited to BTC and ETH.

The advantage of using ETH-based casinos is they are mostly decentralized and with just a simple linking of a wallet like Metamask, users can now start playing without doing some registration. However, I'd rather undergo a registration on a centralized gambling site.

You are the one who can decide. See for yourself if playing at ETH-based casinos would fit your criteria.
1608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 24, 2022, 10:26:35 PM
He may only have 40% (speculated purse cut) slice of the cake but that will be his biggest paycheck in his whole career and he might get bigger earning that Spence.

Crawford might get bigger earnings than Spence on this fight even with a 40% split? How can this possibly happen? Spence is considered the PPV King and almost all his fights are sold-out. That's the reason why he should take 60% of the total purse.

I agree though that even with a 40%, it might be Crawford's biggest paycheck in his boxing history. Fighting against Spence is the biggest fight of his career right now. If he won against Spence, expect more big names that he will face from now on making his paycheck grows.

But Spence is dangerous, he will never allow Crawford to just go wherever he wants. As for now, I'm still in favor of Spence winning the match.
1609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 24, 2022, 10:18:08 PM
He might be bored enough because he has done some clean-up in his own division, so it's only natural for him to climb back and forth in-between divisions. But now that he has learned a lesson not to mess in the LHW so that might be his sign that LHW is not for him, well, he managed to defeat one boxer in that division so his record in that division is tied to 1-1 but he can't deny that his name was really scathed after he got defeated by Bivol.

After GGG, I think he should go against Jermall Charlo in the middleweight division.

You might be right but taking another shot against Dmitry Bivol is a good option. If he fails again then stop pursuing dominance at much upper weight class. After taking GGG, he can do some preparations again to snatch a title first as Bivol won't just be interested in a rematch if it's not a title match.

Why Canelo should just give up? That failed first of him after dominating his comfort zone should not be a sign right away that he's nothing in the upper weight class. Let him realize if he really can't match those guys at the top by doing several attempts.

But before we discussed his future fight, settle the business first against GGG. If he loses here, even the likes of Charlo won't be interested in him.
1610  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 23, 2022, 11:56:09 PM
Of course that won't really matter, but I guess it would be better for the fighter to stay out of the social media before the fight to get a good focus with the fight. The most important thing is to be calm, composed, and focused. Social media post of predictions might mess up with fighters mind.
This is gonna be a must win for Magsayo to continue climbing and improving his career. Both are undefeated and good boxer. This will be interesting and I will be expecting a KO if both fighter becomes aggressive.

Boxers are already used for reading predictions and speculations from any analysis, good or not.

It's already part of what they encounter in every fight.

These boxers already have lots of experience, so why should they stay away from social media? That won't mess up their mind because if it does, then they are weak. Their mental preparations won't affect even if they read social media posts.

Besides, with their busy schedule, I doubt they can browse and scroll a bit on their timeline. They might maybe be checking messages and notifications but will not spend too much time browsing.
1611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 23, 2022, 11:39:06 PM
Recently he made some remarks about Japan so I guess he still got some offered to play overseas and maybe this time he will.

When, mate? Is that the recent incident where he was being rejected? As per some articles and repots around, they said that Calvin Abueva made it clear that it's not Japan Japan Japan but Gapan Gapan (place in Nueva Ecija), sounds funny? Cheesy

Or you are referring to a different remark? Can you share it?

But I think he's not getting any offer, for now, to play in Japan unlike before but rather offers may be from South Korea.

He just shouted Japan as part of his protest.
1612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you trust a gambler with your money/savings? on: June 23, 2022, 11:26:32 PM
Questions for discussion
- Are gamblers eligible to hold financial positions?
- Do problem gamblers deserve a second chance to hold a financial position?

1. Yes, of course. It depends on what type of gambler that person is. There's a responsible and irresponsible gambler. Regardless of how addictive they are, if they are doing their best in their work, everything will be fine on the business side.

2. Why should we limit them especially if that's their expertise? As long as they will remain responsible all the way, there should be no problem.

Choosing the person, of course, should be personally known to you as you know them more than everyone.
1613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 22, 2022, 11:59:09 PM
What do you think if these countries or cities that totally depends on their casino for their revenue to keep the economy floating launch their own online casinos, there are already online casinos based in Macau or a country where land casinos are government-owned but it's privately funded what I mean is government-owned.

Just to inform you that in most countries, there's already a gambling-owned firm by the government. I'm referring to a lottery.

There's no need for a country to establish its own casinos as not all countries obviously don't have the same status as Macau. In Macau, it's no doubt that most of their revenue came from gambling as that's the well-performing industry there since then. They are not performing well in other types of industries. In other countries, there are lots of other performing industries that are now slowly recovering to the point that every revenue that will come from gambling is just considered a side revenue.

What the government must do is strictly regulate all gambling operators and take down those illegal ones. In that way, the tax from gambling will smoothly run and people will always play on those legit gambling operators only.
1614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: June 22, 2022, 11:50:07 PM
Gamblers around the world use crypto and bitcoin to play the bets. Do they really care if the bitcoin prices dump hard? I know traders are directly impacted by this dump, and investors are also in panic but what about gamblers. Their motive is to play gamble and they may not be a concerned if the price of bitcoin is declining sharply?

Generally, there's always emotional damage that some people felt every time the Bitcoin price is declining.

However, in today's crypto-gambling, there are lots of cryptos that can be used now as an alternative instead of using mostly Bitcoin. I think for a gambler, what they care most about and surely a big concern for them is the transaction fees regardless of what's the current bitcoin exchange rate.

Remember, if a gambler always used BTC for betting, it's always 1:1 no matter what's the price trend. Nothing will change with their gambling habit.
1615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on transgender only events? on: June 22, 2022, 11:42:52 PM
I think it will just be a matter of time before other sports organization will follow after them. Will there be a good market for this? I don't know but bookies will probably open a different line for the events exclusive for them. Would you bet if they do?

From a gambler's perspective, if there's a betting market available, there will always be a bettor that will consider placing a bet on that. It also depends on what type of sports we are referring to here. Bettors will consider placing their respective bets, not because of any transgender related-issues but if that league is known and popular, the usual betting will just go on.

If that's a separate event where all participants are transgender, building a betting market on it might be slow from that start but eventually, it will surely grow in progress as long as those types of events are regularly held and being supported and backed by popular institutions.

It's a good initiative for me actually that there's an event specifically for transgenders.

Too good to be true. You have to remember that we can simulate everything mate but you will never be able to have the same result in actual gaming.

I know you are trying to make an algorithm that can beat the house edge however, it's not possible in the long run. That's why it's called house-edge in the first place. If your tool is effective for you, it's best to just keep it to yourself.

The community is also not encouraging the use of random bots, scripts, algorithms, systems, and applications by anyone, anybody.
1617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak on: June 21, 2022, 11:54:05 PM
Do you think the government of Macau made the right decision or they are very desperate not to shut down the casino operations
because they need their economy going.

The fact that the Macau government is relying on 80% of its revenue thru gambling, it just makes sense for them to remain those casinos open amid the latest outbreak. In fact, if they will do that, they can only focus on casinos on-watch if the minimum health protocols are followed at those establishments.

One thing is for sure, there are terms and protocols that everyone is following there that's why no worries of another wave. They only have small numbers of citizens in general that's why they can surely able to control their people. Their mass testing is another example that they are doing their best to minimize the outbreak.
1618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 17, 2022, 11:57:02 PM
Experience and the height and reach advantage, but if Vargas doesn't know how to used it, then Magsayo will have the upper hand on the power. And we like Magsayo to be the underdog just because he will not win, but we will support and bet for the Filipino.

And he knows that beating a good fighter in Vargas will elevate his status as the champion and more opportunity for him to unify and become anther legend from the Philippines. So this is a very important fight for him, legacy and money wise.

Agree with you. If Mark Magsayo will be the underdog even he is the champion here, we will have a chance to taste a good odds while at the same time, supporting our bet. Let those bookies consider Vargas as the Favorite so that we can get a good odds betting for Magsayo. I'm looking forward for a much higher odds on Magsayo winning by TKO and Decision.

Not updated and looking for the odds for this fight but is it already available even for a random guess by some boxing analyst? Is Vargas really considered as the Favorite here regardless of his experience? I don't understand why it should be that way honestly.
1619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 17, 2022, 11:46:05 PM
Are there any updates about this fight? Hopefully, they can announce it before the end of June.

Terence Crawford gives Errol Spence Jr fight update

Terence Crawford himself gives an update recently that they are still trying to make the fight possible.

And I quote from the article:

"What makes things difficult is the 34-year-old Crawford only has one belt to Spence’s three, and he’s not a huge pay-per-view attraction or ticket seller like him. Although Crawford is ranked ahead of Spence in Ring Magazine’s pound-for-pound list at #3 to his #4, there’s not enough of a cushion to help in the negotiations."

It's clear that the main subject here is maybe the split. Spence may be demanding a much higher split above 60-40 because of his pay-per-view revenue and multi-title in possession. That seems reasonable to be demanded by Spence. If everything failed, Crawford may consider moving up weight instead and forget fighting Spence until the latter calls for him.

So what is happening in this fight? I thought this is already settled and there's already a date of the said fight. Well, 60/40 should be a good split, Spence Jr. has more belts and he deserve a higher cut of the revenue, I hope Crawford will understand that because if he wins this fight, he will be the undisputed champion.

Crawford should take the smaller financial take on this fight?  Man I hope this fight goes off now.  A pissed off disrespected Crawford will whoop Spence's ass.  Crawford been disrespected his whole career, and all he does is completely wreck everyone in the ring.  This should go off at 50/50 with the winner getting the belts.  I see no other way this will go off.

I think 50/50 is not gonna happened. Crawford might feel disrespected but to fully take a chance to beat Spence ass, he just need to accept the split. Stealing those 3 titles from Spence should be his priority and focus. That 40% split is still a big money while at the same time, he have the chance to become the unified Welterweight Champion.

After defeating Spence, he can now challenge more big names next and since he now have the status of an unified champion, he can now demand for a much higher split. That's a reasonable thing do now for him as an undisputed Champion.
1620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 17, 2022, 11:36:13 PM
That is already one sign that LHW is not for him, so we don't know why they decided to face Bivol, a young and pure 175 lbs and a champion at that division.

Canelo is on the purpose to face every champions at a much higher weight class that's why he decided to moved up. He also achieved being the undisputed champion and what's next to his career is to dominate the upper weight class but he failed defeating Dmitry Bivol.

Everyone thinks that Canelo won't lose at this point of his career but Bivol make it possible. Canelo even warned that he should not go straight for a rematch with Bivol or else the same result will happened.

I'm just wondering if GGG will beat Canelo here, what's next for Canelo? A rematch with Bivol won't be happened.
