Junkbox = Spam.

nothing to worry

Sure I agree with you but I wonder what the scale of the scam is.
16164  Economy / Scam Accusations / HackonWu Email Scam on: December 09, 2017, 02:12:22 AM
I checked my emails today and found this one in my junkbox. Has anyone else had similar emails sent to them?

This is the first one I ever received which is basically demanding money using a form of blackmail but I do not have any coins on any exchanges and even if I did I would not send these scammers anything.

16165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin First Billionaire: Winklevoss Twins on: December 04, 2017, 10:22:29 PM
Plenty of the 'early' days bitcoins that were mined have simply been lost because novices did not know how to move them around between hard drive to hard drive, as well as those being lost on USB drives and lost keys.
16166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin First Billionaire: Winklevoss Twins on: December 04, 2017, 06:12:40 PM
If someone were to hold more Bitcoin than the Winklevoss Twins, Satoshi Nakamoto would be a good guess, i think

I agree with that but the wallet associated with Satoshi now holding 930,000 bitcoins has not had any bitcoins sent from it. It only ever received so does anyone even have access to it?
16167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin First Billionaire: Winklevoss Twins on: December 04, 2017, 02:48:10 PM
https://www.dmarge.com/2017/12/winklevoss-twins-bitcoin-billionaires.html

Who hold more Bitcoin, the Winklevoss twins or someone else?

News media around the world is reporting that the Winklevoss twins are the world first bitcoin billionaires, stating they own 100,000 bitcoins. Congratulations to them.

Does anyone know who the other bitcoin whales are?
16168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange - No Account Needed on: November 22, 2017, 11:54:04 AM
The majority of the reviews suggest it is better to stay away from ShapeShift

You can take a look in this page which is accessible when you click on DONATE and start counting how much the forums had collected from donations over years Roll Eyes
https://bitcointalk.org/donate.html

And you can also search in the forums and you will find topics where the donations, funds or whatever was spent and how much. I will give you an example
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1278312.0
Enjoy reading and don't take anyone to the court please  Wink

Nice one InvoKing Smiley

Thank you for the post and link. This new forum development has been going on for years, maybe I have it wrong but it seems either a case of mismanagement or incompetence that years later it still is being developed.

What exactly is being developed and tested year after year?
16170  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: November 16, 2017, 08:32:20 PM
I'm not disappointed, nor is it a defence but an actual fact that the money donated has gone into the development of a new forum software whether you want to accept that or not.

In that case I apologise if I got it wrong, will the new forum be open-source or custom coded?

Any new donors giving 1BTC each at over $7000 will not require all that financial clout to go in to development so naturally the question arises as to exactly where the money has gone. The same way a list is provided to see the names of the donors it would provide clarity if a list was provided showing how much of the donations were spent and for which purpose etc. That provides clarity.

Did these fraudsters try to pull off another scam?
16172  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: November 16, 2017, 07:40:38 PM

Sorry to disappoint but I will not be clicking the link you posted nor give further time to your defence of where you claim the donations are being spent.
16173  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: November 16, 2017, 07:15:50 PM
Do you even English?

No but you obviously do  Roll Eyes
16174  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: November 16, 2017, 01:23:45 PM
How do you work that out? As explained above, donations are not used to pay staff and next to nobody is donating. Staff are paid exclusively out of advertisement revenue and donations continue to be used in development of the new forum software.

How can revenue and donations continue to be used in development of the new forum software? The forum software is FREE open source!!

The version used by this forum (SMF 1.1.19) has not been updated here for years even though plenty of free updates and versions have been released: http://www.simplemachines.org/

I do not accept that the "bitcoin donations are going towards development of the forum" when the forum is downloaded for free yet the people running this forum are not updating it.

There should be clarity about where the donations are going and who is using the donations and for what purpose.

Hi ShapeShift Team! Can you help me resolve my issue with Ticket #101196. I ordered that transaction last November 11 and until now it's not yet completed. I tried another transaction today and it got successful in less than 10mins.

I need the ETH coins before the 15th. Thanks!

Here's a screenshot:

From "Awaiting Exchange" it became "Awaiting deposit" just today

Oh no, another ShapeShift problem. I am glad I found out about these problems before I used their "service".
16176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange - No Account Needed on: November 13, 2017, 02:44:43 PM
exchange waves to litecoin still Awaiting Deposit ! over 24 hours . until now I have not received any reply email from ShapeShift, disappointing

Thank you for the feedback. I will never use this "service"and will not recommend it to anybody
16177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange - No Account Needed on: November 12, 2017, 06:57:55 PM
The jury is still out on this one, there are too many negative reviews about ShapeShift. I would not recommend this service to anybody unless the reviews improve.

16179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / NOVAEXCHANGE IS CLOSING on: November 09, 2017, 06:32:04 PM
Does anyone know who is purchasing it and what price it was sold for?
16180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lots of Scammers Here on: November 05, 2017, 03:53:06 PM
Does anyone know what username AikFrank is now using? What is the name of his coin?

Would be really interesting what this scammer guy from Nigeria does now! Well probably making the next decentralized market for whatever and trying to scam his first million. But hey its coins you nevver know.

Unfortunately nobody is naming the coin
