I have used shapeshift with more than 4 BTC some months ago and had a problem but when i started commenting relentlessly on reddit they sorted my querry fast and eventually i was paid, though they did not offered any bonus for their delay which is quite sad and bad.

"Bonus" what for? 

I use this service yesterday and today too. (BTC-BCH) Was some delay (1-16 hours) because the blockchain was overloaded.
Finally I got the money what I exchanged. I recommend this service!

I was pretty scared to use the service, tried it with €100, exchanged my BTC to VertCoins, transaction went really fast, then I exchanged €900 btc to VertCoins again, got my coins within 15 minutes again. Great service!

I like shapeshift. And the website is great in explaining the frontend side of things. Going through the whole blog history right now.

I am asked to find out more about how shapeshift actually works.

Which texts/videos/blogsposts are out there which explain what precisely shapeshift is doing when I submit a transfer.
Are the coins bought on the fly on the cheapest exchange, does shapeshift hold a pool of coins, etc?

Any information much appreciated.

First time user of ShapeShift and had a very bad experience so far.

I wanted to exchange 0.23 BTC to BCH and despite the large mining fee used the first confirmation came seconds after the trade 'expired'.
Afterwards, my BTC is completely LOST! I can't retry the trade or nothing. I submit a support request... no response! I needed the BCH for a time sensitive deal and now it fell through

There should be an option to retry the trade at a different exchange rate or a self serve option to withdraw. Locking people's BTC for 72 hours is unacceptable.

I am sorry to say this service isn't very user friendly. You have to be an expert and 100% certain your payment makes it before the trade 'expires' to use this tool.

DON'T USE THIS SERVICE UNLESS YOU'RE OKAY WITH YOUR FUNDS LOCKED FOR DAYS WAITNG FOR A REFUND!

The transaction i made there is stuck for some days and the support-reply was like "please be patient, we are busy and will answer in 72 hours"
If they just cancel the whole thing i will have lost quite a bit because i need to pay something in bch and the surge will make it double expensive.
In case i get a refund and no bch for the price i payed, i will stay away from that exchange for good.
Because you can be sure that if the price would have fallen, they would give bch instead of refund

The jury is still out on this one, there are too many negative reviews about ShapeShift. I would not recommend this service to anybody unless the reviews improve.

No man! Shapeshift is one of serious and transparent exchange out here, I have used them many times I also do had problems sometime but they are resolve in a day or two. Kindly visit their Reddit page and comment there.
