What's the deal with the continual sell of 1 btc every 10 seconds? Been going on for hours, prob all day.

*edit*

if you want to see what im talking about go to http://trading.i286.org/ and check the "summarize trades" option.

It's called a "bot", short for "robot". It's an application or script programmed to trade by proxy on behalf of the programmer.

**sheesh - noobs***

I was hoping for more insight. For ex, whether someone has observed this kind of bot behavior in the past before a crash or panic buy.

Jerk.

yes. in the stock market.

A continual spam of sells is typical before a crash or a rocket? Or both?

I'm curious because the past few weeks I've notice spurts (hour or so) of continual small buys (usually 0.01 or less). The current 1btc sells have been going on all day long with almost no interrupts.

Careful guys, ask sum is going to be under 40,000 soon. This is when those who are trying to call top get itchy fingers. Price can make leaps upward, but it will be very very hard to sell at top. Trust me. crash incoming

So, since I bought in at $143.39 - should I sell out again, and wait for the crash?

I'm saying it has potential to rocket up because of steep ask depth. But lots of others will try to call the top, bid depth won't be there...

The crash isn't coming because it's under 40k BTC for sale. That's when the fun start. The crash will come when the price has gone too high too fast. We're not there yet.

Yea that is kinda what i'm saying. When the ask sum gets sub-40k, buys tend to cause lots of slippage. This can result in rockets up. But also itchy seller fingers. The fall down will be even more dramatic.

That's why TA is completely useless. But for some odd reason a lot of people here refuse to accept this.

Can you point me to a single post in this thread that has a proper TA?

Any of my posts, dummy.

Yeah, that goes without saying. Let me rephrase the question:

Can you point me to a single post in this thread (Walsoraj's posts exclusive) which has TA right?

Thanks.

And the obvious answer to your question is: No. Other than walz, nobody has any clue what they are talking about.

So does everyone think we rocket up from here?

Bids sure are taking off, asks arent filling in very quickly...

Of course, 14mill in bids still isnt all that much. Im still really 50/50 on whether or not we make a real rise from here [Something like 150 is almost certain] or push back down to ~110

I think if the price does go up, its solely because of people stocking up and storing them. Not that it invalidates it, just that instead of being demand there is just less selling pressure.

Not unless it becomes clear that new deposits are coming in.

If new deposits start coming in, we can assume Gox has fixed its fiat withdrawal issues. If that happens, expect masssssss flood of sales. We crash.

I think that is an overly simplistic view. Psychologist Fallacy.

Fuck off, it is pure reason, I am aristotle!

I could fairly accuse you of the same fallacy

It pains me to post anything even slightly bullish, but I suppose I can do so once in a while.

Google "debt ceiling X date" for plenty more recent articles on the matter.

Trading has resumed but APIs are down or only partially-functional? Is this what happens when bots are not trading? I.e., literally almost zero volume. lol. Knew it all along. 90% of the volume is botwars.

Log chart might be appropriate for spread or adoption of the underlying technology but not the fiat price of a single instance of the technology.

idiots w/ their log charts.

The price moved from $1 to $10, that was huge! The price moves from $133 to $142 nobody blinks an eye. Why are they shown the same on the chart if they produce such vastly different responses? Therefore, log charts are useful often misleading for the reasons you mention, Walz.

Yea i kno, right?

If i saw only the asks abruptly rising, maybe. But bids just went up $1mill. And bid sum is much better indicator of health than ask sum. We will see. My bid at $114 hasn't been hit, and my secret gox last price thing still hasn't budged.

How do you figure?

I focus on the Ask Sum. When it gets under 40,000, the climb upwards steepens significantly (less buys push price further, more slippage). This grabs the attention of sellers who are waiting for the top. They get itchy fingers. The steep climb up generally means a steep fall down (due to shallow bid depth), unless the price has plateaued for a while.

i changed my mind. In fact, lets petition paypal to add hundreds of altcoins as well.

Makes perfect sense.

check my posts, i called the bottom and was ultrabullish at the time. You should put more stock in what i say

There's many examples of people here who made a good call once and then thought they were prophets everyone should worship like a God. Many of them then proceeded to make a completely false prediction and were never heard of again. Tongue

yet here i remain, the most triumphant of profits
