1621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mastercard to allow crypto payments in Web3 via USDC settlements on: February 22, 2023, 04:23:02 AM
It’s crazy how far we have come. At first crypto was banned by many credit cards. And now we got companies like MasterCard not only making crypto payments possible they want to make stablecoins get daily usage in the real world. This is proof that there is always positive development in crypto underway.

1622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's second biggest weekly gain happened yesterday on: February 22, 2023, 04:19:01 AM
11% for a weekly gain is fairly small. There are days when Bitcoin gains 11% in a day and even that is not considered major when Bitcoin in the past had 15-20% days.

We need to see how this weekly candle closes because if we engulf then it’s not looking good. We are going down mostly due to the high inflation numbers and people are worried about a 50bps hike in March. I think most people knew that another rate hike wasn’t off the table and we all knew that rates wouldn’t be cut in 2023 anyways.
1623  Economy / Speculation / Re: What comes next for Bitcoin: $20K or $30K? on: February 22, 2023, 04:14:18 AM
I think we might hit $30K before $20K. Reason why is because we got bad macro news for the past few weeks and you need to wait until it blows over. We had high unemployment, high CPI and high PPI. So it’s normal for the markets to react this way.

Now unless something major happens, I think it will blow over and start to rally again. I am pretty sure another fed hike is getting priced in. Maybe 50bps or so. So in a couple of weeks we might resume this upwards trend again.
1624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB & BUSD Under Attack on: February 21, 2023, 02:56:39 AM
The way it works with these stablecoins is, if you manage to buy it at any price below $1. You can always claim the token and get $1 USD in return. There were many large firms which did that pretty much. They were trading in their USDT or USDC in exchange for BUSD and later they claimed it with Paxos and made a huge arbitrage gain.

Hence why they always repeg shortly afterwards. There is medium type of liquidity for stablecoins. So if 9 figures gets sold off in a short period of time, it will depeg for a short while. Because the large firms see this as an opportunity for arbitrage and they buy it and later claim these tokens for real USD.
1625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bad feeling like a bomb is gonna go off on: February 21, 2023, 02:53:46 AM
You need to stop worrying about these stablecoins going insolvent. People for years have been claiming tether will go bust. And they never did. All these stablecoin providers are making the big bucks by buying short term us treasuries and making 5% bank for pretty much no risk. We are talking about a $100B industry here.

If interest rates are high for the next few years they will all be competing for one another. The only stablecoin that turned out to be a scam was Luna and you shouldn't be surprised. They were basically going to peg their stablecoin using bitcoin as collateral. And we all knew that wasn't a good idea which bitcoin is very volatile and has tendencies to go 80% loss from ATH.
1626  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Any of you is selling ? on: February 21, 2023, 02:42:15 AM
Well this is most likely a scam since it was made by a newbie. He probably wants people to private message him and he will scam them that way. These days whether you are a small firm, there are tons and tons of custody and institutional services out there that he can use. This isn't like 2012-13 where if you were a small firm and wanted to load up, you had to buy it privately OTC, nobody does that anymore these days because there is just too many risks on shady deals.

Imagine buying some tainted coins because you didn't do your due dilenece. Hence I would be very careful if this person private messages you and wants to deal OTC and will give you a discount. Its a classic sign of a scam.
1627  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance's 98% Dominance: Should We Be Worried? on: February 21, 2023, 02:39:40 AM
The volume is not that high, it never was. I am pretty sure MtGox back in 2014 dominance wasn't even that high. You are just looking at one market. They are fairly big but their dominance is maybe around 50% or something and this varies depending on what markets. For example whether its spot or perpetual swaps.

Either way, these days it doesn't make that much of a difference because we got tons of other exchanges unlike the MtGox days. Where when they went down, it caused a huge problem. Eventually as time goes on their dominance will start to fade off into other exchanges.
1628  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 21, 2023, 02:36:43 AM
Some meet me and we were have conversation on trade and he told me that he has putting all he has been saving in it and asked me if he can make something out of it and I asked him if he had any knowledge about it and he said no.

My question is can someone that doesn't have any knowledge about trading and how the system work can he or she trade.

After been told it just for them to choice on the candles sticks if it's up the they want to choice or the one going up just with this idea can they trade with such an idea.
so I wan to know if it's right for sure person to begin trading?

Well historically people have been making loads and loads of money anytime there is a strong bull market. Whether in stocks or crypto. And they told other people and they also started to trade. And its all good until the bubble pops. I had so many of my friends trading in 2021 making killer profits. Both in stocks and crypto. Then 2022 came and most people lost all their gains.

You wont make any decent money just by following candlesticks patterns, because they work half the time and the other time they dont work. You need to find out what trend we are in and trade that way using candlesticks. So basically in 2021 if you traded using bullish candlesticks patterns it would help you. If in 2022 you used bearish candlesticks patterns it would help. However you don't know what kind of market you are in until its too late or in hindsight.

My advice try and trade with a small account and see how it works out. Or trade demo. They got it available for all cryptos and stocks on tradingview app.
1629  Economy / Economics / Re: Motley Fool Adding $5 million worth bitcoins on their Balance Sheet on: February 21, 2023, 01:42:17 AM
I think I read Motley Fool back when I Was new to trading and honestly its no different than many of those other websites. You will not make any money by following their guides. I think they get many people who are new to trading and they think by following Motley Fool they will get great investment advice but you know how it works out.

They make everyone money in a bull market, then a bear market hits and everybody gives up their gains and some. And keep in mind that they posted this back in 2021, I actually remember when they said they would do this because its around the time when Tesla put bitcoin on their balance sheet and many companies were doing the same. Some event were 100% sure that Facebook would put bitcoin on their balance sheet but that was never true.
1630  Economy / Economics / Re: About a ban on interest-only credits on: February 21, 2023, 01:38:25 AM
Yeah but if you take an interest-only loan, who wins in that case? Its pretty much just the bank. Unless your home appreciates more than double of what you paid then you could close the mortgage and get a 100% gain. However that won't help you because you wont be able to buy another house like that either because houses will appreciate also 100%.

In these types of markets only the banks win because they pretty much are the landlord and own the property. They have a very low risk loan. And unless there is something such as a 2008 recession where home prices tanked then they are in a good position.
1631  Economy / Speculation / Re: If history repeats itself: 2023 vs 2019 on: February 21, 2023, 01:19:37 AM
Yes like I said before. It seems that 2022 was very similar to 2018. Many expected the low already in for Bitcoin prior to the FTX collapse just like people assumed $6K was support in 2018 and then the black swan event happened.

Then we had a echo bubble pretty much in 2019 where it peaked at $14K and many assumed that it would go to ATH again. And its also the macro which is rallying such as SP500. Many are pouring lots of money into the markets now because they think the fed will do a soft landing. However it's like a big bull trap when the music stops sometime in Q2 or Q3.
1632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: February 20, 2023, 06:04:56 AM
What the author forgot is that there is a new scam going around called address poisoning attack. And it happened to me even. It’s only on the ETH and BSC chains.

Basically out of your address you will see a destination transaction. It will have the same first and last characters. However this transaction is not real. You will copy it by mistake and send money there thinking it’s to the same address as before. And it goes to the hackers. Basically very sneaky way of scamming people.
1633  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and Front running!!!! on: February 20, 2023, 05:58:30 AM
Wasn’t there was Coinbase employee who was charged with insider trading? I only read the headline so i don’t know if it was for stocks or crypto but I am assuming he knew which tokens were going to get listed on Coinbase and bought them on high leverage on another exchanges.

This is very common. In stocks it happens all the time. Some are even very sneaky and they buy the ETF of a stock so they don’t get caught. SEC rarely charges these people.
1634  Economy / Economics / Re: Made in America is back, leaving US factories scrambling to find workers on: February 20, 2023, 05:54:06 AM
Job market is suffering everywhere because many boomers decided to retire all at once after Covid. They are the most at risk and just decided to throw in the towel. And they are retiring in huge numbers and not enough people to take over. It’s also hard to match the experience level of a boomer which just retired with someone new. Hence you are getting productivity down also.
1635  Economy / Economics / Re: AMD Steals More Of Intel's Lunch Money, Capturing Over 30% X86 CPU Market Share on: February 20, 2023, 05:51:51 AM
I remember the Penguin 4. When it came out it seemed high tech however it was a horrible CPU. I remember at my work even, I was just doing regular workstation and spreadsheet and the fan was screaming on that processor. It always ran loud I remember. Consumed tons of power. And wasn’t even that fast. They improved with the newer line of processors however.

But I am not surprised they are losing market share. Look at Intels price of its stock and compare to AMD. It’s no surprise why one is rallying and the other is falling. Seems the market share is taking a huge shift.
1636  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How the rising trend in CPI will affect Bitcoin price in short to medium term? on: February 19, 2023, 04:39:40 AM
Well in the past Bitcoin followed what the nasdaq index typically did. When the nasdaq went up, so did Bitcoin. And the same was true when it went down.

So if the CPI Is high it means higher fed rates and lower stock prices and hence Bitcoin should go lower which it did. However for the past few days Bitcoin hasn’t been correlated as closely. Basically Bitcoin went up and stocks went down.

But if the old trend returns then higher CPI generally means Bitcoin will head lower as stocks head lower.
1637  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen to BTC price if the US defaults? on: February 19, 2023, 04:36:09 AM
It seems that this “US defaulting” is becoming more and more active in the headlines. Because I keep hearing this topic being discussed almost daily. It was originally some suggestion of some bank and now all the news stories are printing it. And since they are printing it, means they have no idea how slim of a chance this is of happening.

They won’t default. They will just keep doing what they have been doing for the past few decades. The debt ceiling will be raised as usual and life will go on. This is not a reason for them to pivot and cut rates. Inflation is still too high and the fed needs a soft landing.
1638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin be trusted? on: February 19, 2023, 04:32:04 AM
If he buys Bitcoin it’s considered an investment. Every investment has a risk. People assumed that real estate was a low risk investment and many are under water now. I think the only safe investment right now is bonds. Or you keep it in your savings account.

Nobody knows if it will crash or not. It’s been over a decade, since it hasn’t hit $0 yet then most likely it won’t anytime soon. You can say the same for a stock like Tesla. It’s the most popular EV brand today however will they still be around in a decades time? Nobody knows.
1639  Economy / Economics / Re: Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway buys even more AAPL stock, ditches TSMC on: February 18, 2023, 05:20:58 AM
I am really surprised that he didn’t buy more of the battered down stocks like Tesla, Netflix, Facebook, etc during the horrible Q4 they all had. He bought more Apple which didn’t really dip that much. He probably ended up with a higher average price for Apple since the stock is still fairly expensive.

And how much upside is there really? Not much. But I guess 1% of a billion is still a lot
Of money. Either way, he was one of the few investors which did OK in 2022 unlike most funds which were at a loss. So he clearly knows what he is doing.
1640  Economy / Economics / Re: Keanu Reeves says Principle behind Cryptocurrency is Amazing on: February 18, 2023, 05:15:42 AM
Yes he is a pretty cool guy. He is very down to earth. Someone commented on how they met him in person and he is not unlike most snobby celebrities, he was very kind and friendly when they approached him in person.

He is also big on motorcycles. I think he has his own brand of motorcycles because there was
Some clip about him displaying them at a automotive show.
