1621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How many cards can I use with my PC ? on: August 18, 2017, 03:29:33 PM
Generally speaking you should be able to have as many GPU's as PCI-E slots on your motherboard, if you use powered risers. Not all motherboards support using all the PCI-E slots for GPU's, so you need to find out how many cards your motherboard supports.

If you plan on keeping the cards in your case, then you can only use the PCI-E x16 slots. The other problem with cards in a case is heat build up from mining. Any more than two GPU's in a closed case and you will likely overheat the GPU's
1622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 GPU Board on: August 18, 2017, 03:15:13 PM
Please post h110 pro btc with 13 rx580 but windows 10 only recognizes me 8 graphics ... I do not know what to do ... how can I do it to recognize in windows more than 8 graphics, thanks.

You would need to get the port multiplier. Should be able to get 12 GPUs like I have.

The ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ has 13 PCI-E slots. There is no need for a PCI-E spliiter card to have 12 GPU's. Regardless, you can't have more than 8 GPU's of the same type in Windows.
1623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASrock H110 Pro BTC+ 13 GPU Board on: August 18, 2017, 03:09:48 PM
That's a Windows driver limitation. You need to use a Linux based OS, like smOS to have more than 8 GPU's of the same type to be recognized.

You can use up to 8 AMD + up to 8 Nvidia GPU's in Windows 10.

Rule number 1 of investing.
Never invest more that you are willing to lose.

Taking a loan to build a rig is like taking a loan to bet on a football game.

Not exactly, since you have the hardware that can be resold. Unless you already know what you are getting in to and have a plan, I would not do it.
1626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: what are cryptocurrencies that use masternodes? on: August 17, 2017, 10:16:41 PM
Pura (renamed iCash) is a masternode coin forked from Dash. You need 100000 PURA to run a masternode.

1627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: August 17, 2017, 02:30:23 PM
can someone teach me how to use winscp to connect smos, i saw somebody said i need to edit some file to make my p106 work normal but I don't know the Ip, username and password.

You need an openssh server running on the machine. Once openssh is installed, you need to configure a local account for the winscp client to connect to.
is there a more simple way? is there a software allow me to edit smos file on the usb directly on my window 10 computer?

The problem is Windows does not recognize Linux partitions. Probably the easiest way would be to remove the smOS flash drive from the rig, boot your other computer to a Ubuntu Live CD and connect the flash drive, so you will be able to edit the files on the partition.

1629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: plz report hashrate from old cards on: August 17, 2017, 12:44:35 PM
Cannot mine Ethereum with my current 2Gb cards but I'll post about Equihash.
R7 260x OC (Crossfire):220-270 Sols/s

HD 7850 2 GB card ~19.5 MH/s on UBQ 195 H/s on ZEC.

You can Mine Ubiq with 2GB cards for something like 6 years.

I would definitely go with the Saphhire Nitro+ RX 580's if you don't have to wait too long to get them. The RX 580 has better dual mining performance, with 36 compute units compared to 32 for the RX 570. IMO, Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580's are also one of the best mining cards. They have very good cooling, a dual bios and run STABLE at 1115 MHz core clock and 2250 MHz memory overclock using Anorak's bios mod. I like the MSI RX GAMING X series cards, but the MSI RX 570 GAMING X 4GB is an entry level card with a cheaper build quality and no backplate.

IT remains to be seen what kind of hashrate it will be capable of once the miner programmers get their hands on them and can optimize it. I expect that reaching 50 MH/s is going to be doable at some point, but with the crazy power draw I don't see it being super appealing even if it reaches that mark.

So the BIOS looks like its locked ... that being said, were playing with the power some to see what we can get out of this one now.

I also think it will get to 50+ MH/s with reduced power consumption once the miners and overclocking tools are optimized for Vega. Wolf0 also posted the Vega Bios is not encrypted, just signed and he has a workaround.

1632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice for GPU mining frames on: August 17, 2017, 03:37:51 AM
I use BBT style cases built out of two 8ft pieces of 1/8" x 3/4" angled aluminum, one 4ft pieces of 1/8" x 3/4" angled aluminum, one 8 ft 1" x 3" piece of pine, one 4' 1" x 2" pine and #8 1/2" self-tapping screws I get at Lowe's. The case will easily fit 7-8 RX 4XX/5XX if you put them about 1.5" inch apart. The cost of the aluminum angles and wood is ~$45. If you build it out of all wood, the cost would be less than $10. It takes about 1-2 hours to build once you get the hang of it.

7-8 GPU Frame (Dimension 24" W x 15 3/4"" D x 10 3/4" H):

Build Cuts:

For the Angled Aluminum:

-First 8ft (96") Angled Aluminum; 5.75 inch of waste

4x 15 3/4" cuts (58" use) (Case Depth)
3x 10 3/4" cuts (32.25" use) (Case Height)

-Second 8ft (96") Angled Aluminum; no waste

4x 24" cuts (96" use) (Case Width)

-4ft (48") Angled Aluminum; 37.25" left over

1x 10 3/4" (10 3/4" use) (Case Height)

And for the wood:

-8ft 1x3 Pine (96"); 9 inch of waste:

6 cuts of 14 1/2" (87" use) (Case Bottom)

-4 ft 1x2 Pine (24" left over):

1 cut of 24" (24" use) (Card Bracket Support)

I also built a 14-15 GPU double tier case for a new build I'm doing with the ASRock H110 BTC Pro mining motherboard. About $60 in angled aluminum and wood.

14 GPU Double Tier Frame (Dimension 28" W x 17" D x 17" H):

Build Cuts:

For the Angled Aluminum:

-First 8ft (96") Angled Aluminum; no waste

4 x 17" cuts (68" use) (Case Height)
1 x 28" cut (28" use) (Case Width)

-Second 8ft (96") Angled Aluminum; no waste

4 x 17" cuts (68" use) (Case Depth)
1 x 28" cut (28" use) (Case Width)

-Third 8ft (96") Angled Aluminum (96"); 12" left over

3 x 28" cut (84" use) (Case Width)

And for the wood:

-1" x 3" 8ft (96") Pine; 11" left over:

5 cuts of 17" (85" use) (Case Bottom)

-1" x 3" 4ft (48") Pine; 14" left over

2 cuts of 17" (34" use) (Case Bottom)

-1" x 2" 4ft (48") Pine; 20" left over:

1 cut of 28" (28" use) (Card Bracket Support)

For cooling I use 20" box fans in the front to keep good air flow through the rigs.

1634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Alternatives for Etherium mining long term on: August 16, 2017, 05:14:08 PM
UBIQ is a great coin based on ETH with a very good roadmap. Currently it's at epoch 6 and has 80 second block times, so it can even be mined with 2 GB cards for a long time to come (something like 6 years). Currently up 50%+, the biggest gainer today of minable coins.

I think it could take out ETC for the top ETH clone in marketcap. MUSIC and EXPANSE are other ETH clones that can be mined with 2GB cards.

Can't wait for your Vega 64 review livestream today! Like to see what you can get out of it, since some claim 42 MH/s with just an overclock.
1636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Releases Driver for DAG Issue !!! on: August 16, 2017, 03:43:05 PM
Amd forgot linux version Huh  Huh

Yea we need fix for linux...

thinking about switching one of my ubuntu rigs to Win10 because of this

I wouldn't hold my breath. Official AMD support for Linux has been slow to almost non-existant since they moved to the AMDGPU Pro drivers. The official AMDGPU Pro drivers have yet to support GCN 1 & 2 cards in Linux despite having done so in Windows for YEARS, so you can't mix GCN 1 & 2 cards with newer cards using the official drivers.
1637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD Releases Driver for DAG Issue !!! on: August 16, 2017, 06:58:21 AM
dipping to 22 from 30Mh/s isn't normal.

Benchmarks are synthetic figures, variations are normal when running  the same test. The stable hash was the same in all the tests and the real mining hash from the current ETH epoch 138 to the UBIQ epoch 6 was also the same.

Your vga card is what?
why your DCR speed very high?
my card MSI 480 4G hynix ram, miming dual ETH=173Mhs, DCR=867 Mhs

For RX 580's, try increasing the DCR intensity to 32 in Claymore. That card is a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580 8GB with Hynix memory and Anorak's Bios mod. 1115 MHz core, 2200 MHz memory overclock.

Help pls i tried to install the driver everything went fine but when i restart it my screen goes black
I have a windows 7 and i used the ddu also the patcher

All win 7 user has this issue??

It's not the Windows 7 driver. The problem is they are using the 'Windows 7 6 GPU mod' hack that hasen't been updated for over a year, then they wonder why they have problems. LOL

I have the same problem on a win 8.1 rig with only 4 gpu so it is not the 6 gpu hack.

You use a driver for Win 10/7 in Win 8 nad wonder why it won't work?

I figured someone would be a smart ass  Cheesy

Win 8.1 is basically the same as win 7 and yes win 7 drivers from amd have worked before with no problem.

Why would they go through the trouble and expense of developing a seperate Windows 8.1 driver if that were the case? I haven't used Windows 8.1 for mining since 2014, but AFAIK, the Windows 8.1 AMD Polaris drivers have always been a problem for mining. There was also a major architectural change staring with the 17.7.2 drivers and there has been no 17.7.2 driver for Windows 8.1 realeased yet, like they were previously. That's also why the current Afterburner no longer works in 17.7.2 or with this driver.
1639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.8 (Windows/Linux) on: August 16, 2017, 06:39:02 AM
With the new beta driver is it still needed to copy files from an old version to get multi cards to work? i Have both RX480 and RX580 all bios modded, if that matters.

The driver mixing was only to get 6 or more RX 580 cards to work on the same rig. I'm pretty sure you don't need to mix the drivers since 17.6. I have two 6 card rigs with mixed RX 4XX/5XX cards and have never needed to mix the drivers. You do need to patch the driver Bios signature check with cards that have a modded Bios except for the RX 580's.
