I thought robinwilliams was banned from the thread.

That has already been answered for you, remember?

Sorry to see the price guys ... I feel less bad for selling at my buy in point and paying the .25% exchange fee  Roll Eyes
Weren't you banned from the thread?

You can't ban people from the thread....
You can ban people from threads if they continue to FUD, report them to a mod and they will get a forum ban.

Quit saying "ban from thread" if you mean banned from the forum.
If you ban somebody from a thread and they keep posting you can go to the forum mods.

In that sentence "ban from a thread" means; in theory.

Sounds like a theory that an eight year old made up.

I'd love to get me some more XC soon!
A bunch disappeared from my wallet, but life goes on!

wow, XC coins disapear? Is it normal?

Nah...I used a crappy exchange. Using Poloniex now!

So they didn't go missing from your XC wallet, but from your account on the exchange. Right?

Nope, not normal. I still have mine from the first day of mining back on May 8th.

If I have a backup of my wallet.dat, do I need to make another one when I install a newer version of the wallet? Or is one .dat file compatible across all versions?

If the wallet.dat file was not compatible across all versions, how would you be able to keep your current coin balance when upgrading the wallet?

Wallet.dat files are compatable across wallet versions and across operating systems (if you have a linux wallet, you can use that wallet.dat file on OSX and Windows).

I don't mind being the test subject for some anonymous XC.

Set up an address with the paper wallet generator and send your own anon transactions to that address and then import the private key to get your XC back.

Why not just send them in another address inside the wallet?

I reckon you could, but wouldn't you have to use coin control to make sure you know which address is sending?  I have never used coin control so I see using a paper wallet as easier.

Dan And Everyone in the Team... Do you have already an Amount in mind to offer for the Bounty or will it be discussed with the Community? will the bounty be taken from the Premine or trough community offer or both?

I might suggest a 100 BTC Bounty to crack the anonimity. It will be huge pubblicity... 1 BTC for each top 100 address will make us have the 100 BTC Bounty. If we wait till rev 3 for the Bounty it is very possible that XC will Increase in Value so that will be easier for the top 100 to give one BTC each.

As well we might have just one month time to claim the Bounty and after that the BTC donors can have their BTC back.
#100 is currently worth only around 13BTC... would be hard to get them--- and for that matter the other 99 to donate 1 BTC

Ok so with 1.8% donation of the tot amount of each of the top 100 we are able to get them at the current price ...I believe the price will be higher anyway with full anon working and rev2.5

Edit: plus most of the top 100 can easeally made 1 btc with trading...

Are you assuming that the top 100 addresses are all distinct individual people?  I can guarantee you that they aren't. If someone has 10 addresses in the top 100, what then?

No i'm not assuming that Im assuming that some of the top 100 address belong to the same people, hence the 1.8% of their tot amount or 1 BTC for each tot address they own on the top 100 will not change the outcome. If someone is fully loaded 1.8 could be as well 50 btc for himself it will still be 1.8% of the tot he owns and he will get it back after a month. plus after he will get them back his investement will increase in value as none will be able to break the anon

As you said above, one person could be putting up half the bounty, that doesn't seem right to me.

You keep talking BTC.  Is the bounty going to be in BTC or XC?

I might suggest BTC as it will call more attention on the Bounty and it will be a good headline for coindesk and similiars.

I think if that person gained so much from XC that 1.8% of his holdings is worth 50 BTC he could give back to the XC community that amount of bounty to make the big bounty possible.

That would not be a problem for me if I had that amount of Xc at all.

Remember that more then likely noone will break the anonimity and if this will happen XC will Increase in value and he will get back his coins that maybe now are worth 100 Btcs lets say..instead of 50.

I would look at it as a safe bet Investement if you ask me.

The problem is that you have no idea when or how the whale acquired their XC.  What if they bought all of them at a price higher than the current XC price?  Then they haven't technically gained anything from XC to be able to give back to the community.

I agree that BTC is best, but what if the whale only owns XC?  They would have to convert their XC to BTC to pay their share of the bounty.  Fast forward one month and no one can break the code and as you say, the price of XC doubles.  Now the whale has to buy back their XC at a higher price which means they lost half of their XC, not gained XC.

How can XCurrency be a decentralized currency when you say it is a product/service offered and controlled by XC Inc., that is a total contradiction. It seems like the team has some things to think about before continuing to make announcements. Earlier, Synechist said XCurrency and XC inc. have no organic connection, which is it? Come on people, this is the time to ask the tough questions and not follow blindly! Huh

Edit: And if the currency is controlled by xc inc., I ask again, why would any other company accept a centralized product controlled by another company as payment?

It seems to me you are arguing semantics.  XC inc will "control" the XC wallet, just as it does now.  Except now it is called the XC team, not XC Inc.  When XC inc. is formed, how will the wallet be less decentralized than it is now?

Maybe maintain is a better word than control.

I have been direct to people my whole life, some don't like it, but I find it the most effective way of getting my point across.

The direct approach:

That is because your communication skills haven't progressed past adolescence.

The indirect approach:

You should work on trying to communicate more effectively.  When you are too direct, people naturally go on the defensive and feel like you are attacking them.  Your point will eventually be lost.

Which approach above did you find more offensive?

As our mascot, He will have to do something constructive with any donations he makes I recon, or he should be replaced with a new mascot.  Grin

He isn't my mascot.  Don't try to speak for the entire community.

Ahh what the hell, I'll allow it but we would obviously prefer if you donated to the PR or DEFUND FUND.

Especially since it looks like the vast majority of what has been sent to that addy has then been sent to mintpal.  Why donate to someone when all they are going to do is turn around and sell it?

PR fund or Defud fund is a much better option.

where do all those little amounts end up? I know it says to the nodes and to support network, but I've never seen anything come in, and I'm a node.  Huh

I would think that those little fees would be included in the staking reward when your node "finds" a new block.  I could be wrong though.
