16381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoins? Which is safer or more profitable? on: November 16, 2017, 04:14:22 AM
if you are not a trader then  don't even think about investing in altcoins, you will lose a lot of money because you will surely get caught up in the altcoin fake hypes and end up pretty much regretting it. at least you need to know what pump and dumps are and how you can work around them to make money not just become altcoin bag holder.

bitcoin is always the obvious choice. it is the only cryptocurrency that has any real adoption outside of exchanges by real merchants and businesses not just speculators.
16382  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Bittrex] account downgraded, 1 month no answer from support, funds blocked on: November 16, 2017, 04:03:15 AM
LOL Trex is US based if you trade there you are subject to US laws. Now be a good boy and fill out the forms.

then how come in the past ~3 years it was not "subject to US laws" and never even warned me about it, or ask me for any documents when i was depositing and withdrawing bitcoin and other altcoins there?
now suddenly in the past months they remembered they are located in US? and again didn't give any warnings but disabled lots of accounts!

all i'm saying is, i made all the deposits there back when they didn't have this rule. they changed it and blocked my account after 3 years. i am not ok with this new rule so i want my money back!
any legit business which weren't thinking about robbing people would have given a time frame in which people could withdraw their money. instead bittrex robbed us.
16383  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bittrex - Next generation exchange (btc/ltc/eac/ppc/rdd/ftc/and more) on: November 15, 2017, 05:41:59 AM
i have started leaving negative feedback for those affiliated with bittrex exchange on this forum. started with the starter of this topic richiela.

if you know any other account affiliated with this exchange active on bitcointalk send me a PM with their account link. i suggest you also leave a negative feedback if you are a victim of their thievery like me: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2406054.0
16384  Economy / Scam Accusations / [Bittrex] account downgraded, 1 month no answer from support, funds blocked on: November 15, 2017, 05:34:21 AM
as i said before in their announcement topic [1] i have a very old account with https://bittrex.com
bittrex had an account type called "Legacy" which meant you didn't have to verify your account (give any kind of information/documentation) to be able to trade or withdraw large amounts. my limit was 2000BTC daily which was reduced (site-wide for this type of account) down to 1337BTC when price went up a lot this year.

about a month ago, with no warnings or anything they downgraded my account to "Basic" and now they are asking (forcing) for my personal information which i am not willing to give them.
and now my money is blocked in their website and i am unable to do anything about it.

1 month ago i created a ticket with their support team (303970) but to this  date i have not received any answer apart from the automated ones telling me to wait and not make duplicates.

this is unacceptable and clear example of robbery.

16385  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Damn, China started BAN/SLAP bintcoin miner on: November 15, 2017, 05:12:23 AM
~
there 2 scenario could be happen:
1. Transaction Fee become higher and higher
2. Miner stop/reduce mining operation which will make network slower
~

all will be temporary. that is how bitcoin is supposed to work.

the difficulty is there to prevent these things from crippling network. if miners stop, leave or whatever, the hashrate will drop and because of that less blocks will be found (just like how they left for bitcoin cash and hashrate dropped) but then the difficulty will drop to match the new-lower hashrate so that blocks can be found with the same old speed.
hence any kind of delay or high fees will be temporary.

if they really ban bitcoin mining in China (which is seriously doubt it), it will be a good news for bitcoin. because the mining hash power will be distributed better around the world rather than be focused mostly in China.
16386  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Can't run Electrum (Qubes OS) on: November 15, 2017, 05:06:33 AM
i am not a linux expert but it seems to me like your pakcage manager is having trouble finding the "pyqt5" package to install. it is possible that since this is a year old operating system, it is not supporting all new python3 packages.

i couldn't find anything about it online. but you can open an issue on their Github repo: https://github.com/QubesOS/qubes-issues (nobody had this issue there either).

or you can just stick to an electrum version below 3 which was still on python 2
or just use a more popular Linux distro like Ubuntu!
16387  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your prediction of bitcoin price 12-31-2017 ????? on: November 15, 2017, 04:42:28 AM
there is a very good chance that not only $8000 ATH will be broken but also we may reach $9000 and above.

the CME thing is coming in the second week of December (confirmed) and that will soon lead to a big rally. it will probably start showing the signs of the big rise in next week (or the next tops) and continue rising with another crazy upward speed until end of this month and the first two weeks of December.

we can practically see $10,000 the same way we saw a big rise after August and activation of SegWit. and this rise will not be big, don't let the number fool you. it is a small 28% rise from the ATH.
16388  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you think Bitcoin Gold is tradable in Poloniex, Cryptopia or Bitfinex? on: November 15, 2017, 04:26:21 AM
whenever the initial dump because people got free coins ends and price reaches an stable bottom and then when poloniex or bittrex bought enough of it, then they release the news about them adding BTG market so that it can get pumped. specially poloniex which is notorious for this kind of pumps.

there is also the "trading volume" factor but i think bitcoin gold can have a half decent trading volume, enough for these exchanges to feel the incentive to add it.
16389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: end of the fight? on: November 15, 2017, 04:15:48 AM
Could it be?
BCH at 1200 again, BTC rising quickly.
you are too late. it has been over for a while now.
bitcoin is currently in a stable phase which is mostly indicating accumulation. any possible walls are placed for that exact purpose.

Quote
What makes me think it could be over, is that most alts had rised too, meaning they were moved from the BCH too.

Lots of BTC bought at low prices, though. They're already making big walls, it will slow down the rise a lot.
it was the plan all along. all the traders (not bitcoiners!) care only about one thing: more money.
and that means these pump and dumps. shorting bitcoin while buying altcoins like bitcoin cash to make a lot of profit from their manipulation and then using all that profit to buy lots of cheap bitcoin at the bottom and enjoy the ride for a couple of months.
rinse and repeat.
16390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency are considered illegal? on: November 15, 2017, 04:08:43 AM
Sorry about that, I'm from Vietnam.
As I look at wiki via your link, I've found that Bitcoin payment in Vietnam haven't been banned yet. But there is an announcement for 2018 said that will.

exactly, the wiki may not be updated or it may even be wrong about some things.
also when the government talks about bans, they rarely are talking about banning bitcoin. i suggest paying more attention to the details of the news to figure out what is it exactly they are banning.
for example in many countries they have  so far banned ICOs and investing in them. they have also banned a couple of exchanges in different countries, and closed some shady bitcoin businesses. some of them have also banned banks and big financial firms from investing in bitcoin.
* none of these meant banning bitcoin itself. *
16391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin feels like it has some Enron type shit going on with transactions/fees. on: November 15, 2017, 03:57:36 AM
I just refuse to believe that we go from 0 unconfirmed transactions to over 100,000 unconfirmed on 0 news.

what 0 news?
where were you when bitcoin cash was being manipulated and hashrate was going out of bitcoin into bitcoin cash for about 2 days? that was the news!

when hashrate goes out (drops), blocks are found with a bigger interval. that means less transactions are being mined daily because less blocks are being found. the leads to a larger number of unconfirmed transactions in the mempool.
additionally there is always a spam attack whenever things are chaotic like this.
16392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lending Bitcoin on: November 15, 2017, 03:50:32 AM
it is ok but whenever you are using an exchange (or in other words a third party) to store your bitcoins, you are taking a huge risk. these exchanges are not to be fully trusted ever. they have pulled so many shenanigans so far and there has been lots of scams that makes it impossible to trust any of them anymore.
so do the lending with a small amount you can afford to lose in case the exchange ran away.
16393  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: From 0.1 to 1 BTC in 6 months with Day-Trading on: November 14, 2017, 05:47:18 AM
interesting topic.
although it would have been much more interesting if you explained a little about your choices too. also try and make a chart out of your balance after some time has passed. X axis should be dates with daily steps, Y axis should be balance.

i meant to do something like this for a while but i become busy and give it up because i won't be trading that much to share anything about it. in 1-2 months i will have more free time, i make sure to start something like this. i will do a 0.1 to 10 bitcoin

oh and this is how your balance looks like so far:
16394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver to dump his 250k worth of bitcoins on: November 14, 2017, 05:30:41 AM
it would have been better if you also included some sort of proof to what you said.

besides 250K is nothing in bitcoin market and even if he actually sold bitcoin that is what all the rest of the traders did! they sold their bitcoin as they speculated the drop or saw it after it started and then they all bought back in the dip. many below $6000 and selling 250K means you buy that much more at the bottom (~318K at the bottom).
also don't forget that he already has the same amount in bitcoin cash and he is not alone in pumping it.
16395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is Money Maker...stop fooling yourself with technology BS... on: November 14, 2017, 04:50:28 AM
you are delusional for thinking bitcoin is making money just because it is making money.

in reality bitcoin is making money (rising price) because it is a useful technology, in other words a useful currency which is also decentralized. that is why it is getting adopted more, used more, and rises more and more so it "makes money" for those who invest in it early on.

if you remove the technology part and the currency part then you will be left with some meaningless numbers on your screen that people are paying money for them. and that is dangerously close to a Ponzi scheme.
additionally as you can see the technologically advanced countries such as Japan have adopted bitcoin as a currency not a money making machine. and that is the main reason for this year's rise.
16396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How hard is it to fork bitcoin? on: November 14, 2017, 04:38:38 AM
creating the fork is not that hard, for example you can change any of the consensus rules and have yourself a new fork of bitcoin. the hard part is making it relevant so that people pay some attention to it and then make money. and also to be able to keep it alive.
just forking will not make you any money.

for example bitcoin cash was created by the miners so that they can make more money. when they pump it and switch to mining BCH they can mine 100 blocks more than normal and make a lot more money. that is why it is still around.

bitcoin gold was created to change the PoW and make bitcoin mineable by GPU again. that is why it got some attention but they ruined it by adding a 200,000 premined coins to it.

and this process is not as easy as creating a shitty ICO. for that you do a lot less work because the platforms for ICOs are created for this exact purpose but forking bitcoin is a much harder process in comparison because of the complexity of the code and things such as replay protection which you have to worry about and also the difficulty which will make it impossible to mine. and if you lower it, you will risk 51% attacks to wipe out your fork.
16397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins fight on: November 14, 2017, 04:31:06 AM
you are comparing advertising an ethereum token from a series of useless tokes each with the same name eBTC, eBlahBlah,... which were all created for the sole purpose of having a huge premine so that the creator can make a lot of money.
your advertisement here won't change anything either. it is still useless despite what you think by looking at its website.
16398  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Replaceable transaction disappeared from wallet after 24 hours... on: November 14, 2017, 04:19:54 AM
~
That should work but it's worth noting op that the transaction might get lost again so you'll have to keep repeating that until your next confirmed transaction as otherwise it'll be flagged as a double spend transaction - unless confirming it means your wallet sees it).

without seeing his transaction i can not say anything for sure, but transactions don't just get "lost". there should be a reason for a bitcoin node to drop his transaction out of its mempool.
and also as long as it is an RBF transaction, it won't be "flagged" as a double spend. majority of nodes understand RBF and will replace the old transaction (drop it) with the new one.
16399  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum sending small amounts not whole amount on: November 14, 2017, 04:14:52 AM
you probably don't have enough to make the payment and also cover the fees. go to your preference and enable the fee options, that way you can see how much fee you are paying and also you will be able to edit it.
make sure to check out http://bitcoinfees.21.co/ to get the feeling what fees are appropriate at any present time for a fast confirmation. right now it is 167,240 satoshis, if you are not in a rush to make a purchase,... then wait a couple of days for this issue to be solved and fees come down. it will most probably be solved in a couple of days. if not you have no other choice other than paying the high fee.
16400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you feel it on: November 14, 2017, 04:05:32 AM
there is a "enthusiasm" for sure about bitcoin all around the word but unfortunately this "enthusiasm" is not mainly about bitcoin as a currency. instead the most of it is about bitcoin as an investment where you can buy and sell to get more fiat out of it. and that will put and end to nothing.

if people start realizing bitcoin is only strong if it is a currency, then things will change. the currency part is what makes bitcoin useful and valuable.
