get rid of the mouse instruction pop up.  i keep a small version of your chart open and the popup window blocks much of the data.

Sometimes I can see accurate depth/price/technical charts in my dreams.  No joke.   Grin

you're sick man, sick.
I have had lucid dreams of the bitcoin charts I watch.  When you spend all day looking at bitcoin charts it gets into your sub conscience and plays out during your REM trip on natural DMT =)

the only thing left is for you to get realtime updates during REM.

i hear an apology coming...

if all else fails, i have small speakers mounted on my head board designed to kick in in the event of total darkness for more than 5 min and which senses the lack of vibration coming from the mattress.  they recite the price in terms of USD's, Euros, Yuan, and Yen.

i've mounted a small monitor on the ceiling directly above my bed @ a 45 degree angle down toward my feet so that i don't have to roll over or open my eyes fully.

this is in addition to my Android just in case it runs out of charge.

Later that night.

Late night news reports of a man in mid 30s found dead in his downtown condo.

The Coroner's Report suggests that the subject had suffered from a blunt force trauma to the head. When questioned by the reporter as to how a freak accident like that could happen. The coroner replied he believed the cause of death had something to do with the 19" monitor protruding from the subject’s prefrontal cortex...

And there you have it folks! An unsuspecting Bitcoin "day trader" gets first hand evidence as to why Bitcoins is hazardous to your health!

didn't i tell u i have it angled 45 degrees down toward my feet so i don't have to lift my eyelids more than 45 degrees.  a disastrous plunge of the monitor just misses my feet by 6 inches.  i've measured it out.

Happy to watch this for a long time yet.

might as well watch it while you're sleeping too! Cheesy
16388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you go short position in bitcoinica? on: January 05, 2012, 04:11:44 AM
sounds like u funded the original trade with USD's?

i don't get it.  they've claimed repeatedly they could cash you out in USD's by selling for you on gox?  what gives?

I funded the account with a MtGox USD voucher.  When I closed my position I had over 5x the USD that I started with.  I tried to withdraw from Bitcoinica with a MtGox USD voucher, and they did not have enough funds available to give me the voucher.  I even tried a small amount of $100 and got the same error "Mt Gox limit temporarily reached" or something like that.

So I exchanged the USD for Bitcoins in bitcoinica, and just withdrew them to my personal bitcoin wallet, and it worked out just fine.

that blows as far as i'm concerned.  everyone of those Bitcoinica pumpers assured me that the longs in a one directional mkt up like we have now and even in a red flag event had immediate access to USD's to cash out.

Cypherdoc, this issue has nothing to do with the redflag event. The "Mt Gox limit temporarily reached" error is caused by the daily withdrawal limit that Mtgox sets for all clients, including Bitcoinica. Of course they already had it increased, but it's still not enough to cover all the withdrawals every day. It's already been posted on these forums here somewhere. I'll see if I can find the original post.

just b/c you have an explanation doesn't make it an ideal situation.  if Bitcoinica has a USD limit that IS a problem that shouldn't be dismissed.  anytime a restriction is placed on customers ability to perform a tx of their choosing it exposes them to unnecessary losses. in this particular case he wanted to move to USD's, a flat position.  he was forced to move to BTC instead.  if we have a rally reversal he won't be so sanguine with what happened anymore. don't you understand that?

i love the smell of Napalm.

or is that burning Bears?

Patience and discipline, just gotta keep telling myself.... and if i'm wrong well... meh

If you're wrong, you just missed the opportunity of a lifetime.

If you're right, well... meh.  It will go up again.

its the former. i lived thru the Spring minute by minute and this is exactly the same, except this time we go further.

I don't see any reason why we're going to go further.  I could see the price getting to $10, but I expect more profit taking this time.  What makes you think we're going further?

read my blog.  the amount of fiat money circulating round the world is enormous.  and we're about to pump it up even more.  Bitcoin is such a tiny mkt now but yet a revolutionary idea that fits well with the internet age.

the gold and silver mkt is done, the euro is in trouble, the Fed is about to embark on QE3 so ppl are looking for a store of value.  Bitcoin is IT.

6.4 please

4.6 please

(not done stocking up yet, haha)

Someone got left behind by the rally train!  We have to go back for them!

seriously. i'm actually proud of you to have changed your position from bearish to bullish so quickly.  thats the sign of a good trader.  so many others refused to do so and now look at them...

Permabears are in deep shit right now, that's for sure.  I know people who shorted at $2, and when it went up they didn't cut their losses... oops.

i've always been long-term bullish.

previously, i was bullish and got excited whenever the price went up.

currently, i'm bullish, but want the price to go down (and stay down for 3 to 6 months while i inject more fiat)

you won't get that chance i promise you.

i've also ceiling mounted a drop down vertical screen btwn my wife and i so that the light from the monitor doesn't wake her up during the night.

The ask depth is looking a little scary right now.  I really hope it fills back in.

Scary for you Wink

Scary for a lot of people.  I'm worried that if we snowball into the same sort of behavior we saw last April through June we're likely to see the same sort of long term reversal.  I don't think the integrity of the project can handle that a second time.

i don't think you can handle another rally like last time. Cheesy

16396  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: btccharts.com on: January 05, 2012, 03:28:36 AM
2 things for your charts which i like better on mtgoxlive:

1.  once again, total USD's to reach a certain price
2.  the flashing of the trades going off in the top right of the chart.

you said what I thought

this is my job; figure out what ppl are thinking before they do!

I'm thinking mt. gox api is broken right atm

so is Bitcoinica in a red flag right now?
