They say they're waiting for hashfast to deliver before they resume shipments.

"They" being KnC.  Somebody tried to explain this KnC strategy to me, but I'm too dumb for one explanation.  Can someone try again, please?  What is KnC's thiinking here?

here here

In the old days, that was "hear, hear!"

Now, it's "Hodl, Hodl!"
1644  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 600 GH/s how long is it good for? on: December 27, 2013, 04:01:58 AM
Joe 600Gh/s Miner, father of Timmy and Sally 600G.
1645  Bitcoin / Hardware / Eager for hashfast to ship so KNC will sell miners on: December 24, 2013, 09:53:19 PM
Actually, I'm hoping they do ship soon. KnC won't sell me their next set of Jupiters from stock until one of these competitors starts shipping.

Yup. Count on this. I am. Get your BTCs ready, buy them while they are cheap.

Explain this KnC sales strategy to a dumb person, please.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!

Happy Hodlday!

Talking about J/GH introduces another variable... BTC:USD price.. since power energy is billed in $.

Power is too, but that's not what's being discussed.  Data centers pay demand charges, but Joe 600G doesn't.

I've been looking around to see what $5000 can get me that will be relevant for the next six months.

About seven BTC, then hodl.
1649  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What factors do you look for in a legitimate bitcoin hardware company? on: December 22, 2013, 04:25:13 PM
Don't know why I feel compelled to defend poor OP.  But I read through his post history and found this:

A preponderance of posts discussing known scammers.
Recognition of the bright lights shined on hardware scamming attempts.
Enough naivete to fall for an obvious proudhon prank.
A claim of having lost a chunk of change to a hardware scam.
Claims of being currently invested in pre-orders.

This thread is an interesting example of the very touchy radar that has developed about hardware scamming.

I'm still of the mind OP is investigating a buyer's beware guide, or possibly a shopping/reselling service, or maybe wants to compile an authoritative ongoing hardware scamming history.

Hope I'm not becoming OP's BCP19.

Though I do like the fork! Will that be the new swag instead of a coffee cup?

They're planning to fork the blockchain!

If Satoshi were to post today with a tip jar, how much would you donate?

However, OP does raise a valid point in general : what about the mining rigs which are setup in the mainland, now that Yuan deposits are forbidden and only withdrawals are allowed ?

The largest (and largest number of) meetups the BTC universe will ever see.
1653  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 21, 2013, 02:52:39 PM
I just devised a price forecasting tool that is dumb and will not work.

Test:  Gox descends to 500 tonight at midnight UTC, +/- 30 minutes.  (Nine hours from this post).

I wonder if 14 people would vote on a poll entitled "Help me refine my scams"?

Could be OP has/represents a bunch of new buying power and is looking for experienced guidance.

Or possibly OP is contemplating writing a buyers' guide (or even a sellers' guide.)

1656  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info has a big announcement, what would it be ? on: December 21, 2013, 04:27:38 AM
Yay!  Blockchain.info finally dropped the 650W/Gh/s metric from their "stats" page.  Best move since Roger Ver gave up doxing.
1657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the most convincing arguments against Bitcoin? on: December 21, 2013, 04:20:42 AM
Too complex to use for people as dumb as me.

And Happy Newb Year!
1659  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info has a big announcement, what would it be ? on: December 20, 2013, 12:32:56 PM
They are announcing they are finally dropping the ridiculous "650W/Gh/s" electricity consumption metric.  The MSM will now have to go elsewhere to get support for the "BTC ruins the environment" stories.

BTW, I just visited Blockchain.info, and the bottom half of the "stats" page with the worthless "miners' operating revenue/margin/BS" was missing (although the undying "650" number was still there in a footnote.)  Probably my crappy PC/browser, although one can always hope for a Merry Christmas present from blockchain.info.

Not even the $900,000 back for around the clock medical care?

Really! You're gonna whine about losing one Bitcoin?

$15 trillion BTC market cap in 10 years.  Wow!  Today that's 25% of global GDP.  But in ten years it's only 15%.
