If every stakeholder was doing their part,The devs would not need to discuss raising more funds.
Let's not forget that this is supposed to be a call for participation. Now that nemstakes are on AE, I understand why someone that payed $1000+ for a stake feels that they have done their part, but there are still 2,000+ people who haven't stepped up.
As far as raising funds, what about selling off a portion of the "auctionable stakes", and using those proceeds for the development fund?
That could definitely be an option. If the community isn't supportive of any further fundraising then we will find another way.(It's not like we could force anyone). It's a fact that things are difficult right now but we're only humans and working as hard as we can. I guess the logo decision should be finished soon then we can have loi come up with a nice branding which I think will get some spirits up again ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I've noticed there is dust for every password so you could conceivably make some cash scooping it all up. Of course you might stumble onto someones account doing that as well. Does the account lock to your IP when you create it?
There is not dust in every account, I just stumbled onto an obvious password. That password? "password123" ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Pretty much. I do have some concern about the entropy of the account generator. I hope collision is not too easy to generate, heh. The problem is that people will make rainbow tables and get your password by bruteforcing the shit out of it. Would move asap! I'm sure people are already bruting the crap out of it. Simply sending a POST and checking the resulting json for balance. I'm sure we'll read about some stolen NODE soon enough ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Can't you work for a stake ? I understand that there is a 5% =200 stakes reserved for ecosystem development. It is worth 200.000 $ at least.
We can - in fact we are. But externals especially companies won't. Since the support that we've seen so far has been underwhelming we will have no choice but to "outsource" some things to contractors. You could set a bounty for the required works. I have some doubts on your ability to pick contractors. Typical example: interim logo selection. It is not uncommon to pick a wrong person for a job though. I do management and most of the time it is a very time consuming process to choose a right person for a job. That's why a bounty system is the best. It allows different candidates to sort themselves out for a the job and the winner is often the best fit candidate. We didn't choose anyone for the interim logo. Makoto jumped up and did it. Also picking Loi and Krysto (designer and front end dev for NCC) seems to have worked out quite alright.

Also great to see Poloniex will be picking up NEM on launch! Great news!
I guess around 6pm GMT+2.

think this official launch takes so long time....ppl like me whos impatient are losing confidence, coz we kind of let the golden time slipped away. anyway, i claimed my stake token days ago, hope to receive tomorrow. by the way, why the manager whos handling this token issuing thing wouldnt reply the request pm ? coz, i dont want to hear tomorrow.."oops, sorry, we missed u. pls wait the token nxt monday.."
We don't answer because we have better things to do than ansering every single pm. You could also put in 2 sec of time and simply check the list https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ak91SD0veCeddDdmTkdaWV8zbHp2dWlodDVEVUItbXc&usp=sharing#gid=14. You'll find your name in the next batch that is to be issued. If you're impatient and in it for the quick buck then NEM isn't for you. I'm sorry but that's how it is. I see no reason to loose confidence though. Everything we promised we delivered. I'm the first on to admit that we always take our time and sometimes maybe even a bit too long but we always come through.

Hey guys.
Did you recently checked coinmarketcap?
I checked it this morning and saw NEM falling to 900 USD per stake.
Do you think, there is someone who wants to bring down the price in an artificial way?
I can't see the aim of this behavior.
Maybe is it someone who wants to harm NEM or is there something I missed?
Whats your opinion about it?
My opinion is coins have exploded onto the scene. We are seeing literally scam coins being developed on a daily basis, and new "game changing coins" nearly as often. And yet here we have a coin making promises but technically doesn't even exist yet. Now the release date is getting pushed back by a couple of months and people are just throwing their hands up. I can;t say so much as I blame them. AT this point there are 20 other coins offering the same thing as this coin that are rising in value NOW. So Why not sell your stake or not buy one and move into something that is tangible. Meanwhile people here are still arguing over the logo. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Noone pushed back the release. August was spread by some people but those were guesses. Point me to any other project the promises THE SAME things. Not similar but the same. Development needs to speed up - no argueing there. It's been difficult lately. On the other hand poloniex confirmed that they're going to add NEM at launch so that's cool ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

probably it is a regular thing about the node.js language - but isn't it unsafe to enter your password in a browser?
please forgive my ignorance, but how can it be safe when it is sent to an ip somewhere?
in the case of NXT I can understand that the client is running locally and the PW does not leave my machine - but what if someone does IP spoofing or packet inspection?
so let me just assume that my password is processed locally in javascript and the communication with the server is done secured by the password but not containing the password in cleartext? That would make most sense to me. Since it's node.js your password should be processed locally yes. It seems to be transfered in clear text though: http://picpaste.de/pics/node_test-SwrhxlUv.1407051530.pngnode.js has nothing to do with what's going on with your browser or communicating with the site. node.js is only running on the server itself. As for the password issue, they don't have the server setup with SSL at this point. Once they do, it will be just like any other financial site like your bank, paypal etc. Even this site is using SSL.. So for now, yes there's an issue. All the devs need to do is buy a cert and get HTTPS running which imho should have been done before the actual launch but hey...as long as they do it soon.

May I suggest not showing tx from anyone on the landing page ? At first I thought someone hacked the thing when i saw all those outgoing tx until i noticed they're not from my account.

NEM should clone bts not NXT or take the advantage of BTS
People should also get their facts straight before they post...can't have everything.

Hey guys!
Where can I find details about NEM asset exchange?
Will there be an AE from the start and how will it differ from the NXT AE?
Reason being, I am running the asset USDbitfnx that represents USD being deposited at bitfinex.com. Now I don't really care where my customers want their assets, so I will likely (if possible) issue the same asset also on NEM AE and make it possible to transfer assets.
Let me know please,
Regards
There will be no AE from the very start because that would delay the launch quite a bit. We aim to do something different from your avg AE. An AE has turned into a kind of a standard feature by now so we sure as hell won't be putting out just another iteration of that ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) As it stands right now I can't give out any details and it's impossible for me to give you an ETA. Hope you're still interested when our AE launches ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I don't have a clue why did you washed me away from the investors but the fact that you removed me without any notice is just pissing me off. When you needed money you were very welcoming but now you've got enough and you're removing people one by one and don't even feel obligated to tell something in advance. If someone used the same IP as I did, then check it twice, geniuses, because I always use Tor.
Hmm, let's see.... You created your account on Apr 14 and immediately posted your payment in the NXTL thread. You then posted again in the NXTL thread on Apr 21 stating that you were not added to the investor's list. You did not post again until today, or more than 3 months later, to state that you are not a sock puppet. I think you can tell which way my vote will go. I thought we're voting based on real person/puppet status, but it turns out 4 of 5 committee members decided to vote high activity/low activity on this particuar case. That's not why I voted against him. The TOR argument is bullshit for me anyway. How likely is it that 2 completely unrelated people have the same exit-node on the same day and both join this IPO ? What the account activity looked like to me (I'm talking node account now not btt) is he's usually using TOR and forgot to use it on one occaison.

TOKEN REQUESTS CAN NOW BE MADE - READ PROCEDURE BELOW
1) Send 1 NXT from the account you want the asset to be transfered to to NXT-97MX-EWKV-CGKX-DA5WH This will pay for the tx fee and act as bookkeeping.
2) Send pm to xtester with patmast3r in cc. The pm needs to include the tx id for the 1 NXT payment. Don't pm us saying "I payed 1 NXT. Send my token". INCLUDE THE TX ID! This is what a TX ID looks like: 7136633102723179216. Plz don't send us something else.
We'll issue tokens once a week. Current plan is to issue tokens every monday. Plz send your request at least 24h in advance otherwise you'll have to wait for the next monday to come along.
xtester will check first, put you on the list, then I will recheck and issue the token.
Everyone that already pmed me before will need to pm again. I can't search all those pms in my inbox for every single request I hope you can understand that.

There's that one Walrus* on the AE who owns like 25 stakes out of 4 billion coins.
If each stake is 1 million nem, 26 stakes is 2.6% 400m nem = 10% 40m = 1% 26m = 0.65% (i think) thats a small whale if you ask me, barely a whale.. in nem thats a whale ya but only cos the distribution is so good.. but in most other coins with low marketcap 1% or more is a whale. again its all about perspective. Qora had a similar distribution without the whole we are Communists bullshit thrown in. Is that thing open source yet ? I really wanna see what they changed regarding POS. (like genuinely - not trolling.)

I issued the tokens that were request up to this point. To make this abundantly clear for the future:
We send out tokens every MONDAY (GMT)! We issue all tokens that have been requested 24h in advance (GMT) We will not make exceptions.
PMs that don't satisfy protocoll i.e. no tx id or alike will most likely be ignored.

Good question. There is a 2 stake limit on redeeming NEMstake.
Which is of course ridiculous limit as the stakes were bought on open exchange.. Unless you want to add even more stakes to "development funds" by stealing stakes from users who bought them . I wonder what will that do Nem credibility? For once I agree with you. This rule is just obsolete. It is just that. We won't enforce that rule. At least that's my understanding.
