I guess if you aren’t American and your currency is crashing hard, then maybe Bitcoin is beginning to look like a safe haven. Valued in US dollars though, it would appear that cash is still King. I have a feeling we’re in for some pain ahead as things begin to normalize in the near term.
Yes that true but the real issue is majority are busy discussing about future of bitcoin from here on. Some says it's bottom, while some says it will go further down to 14k or 8k and bla bla. You need to have trust in bitcoin and that trust should based on historical price chart of bitcoin. Bitcoin always hit back strongly after a fall back. They are not really burning them. If anything, they are making more. It just all becomes more and more worthless while the people slowly realise how badly they have been duped.   Infact the supply has gone up since the merger. If you see data on https://ultrasound.money/ then 2180 new ethereum have been issued since the merger on 15 September 2022. So ethereum ever growing supply won't be affected due to this merger and it will continue on its inflationary model.
We do not know the supply of that crap.. that's part of the problema..
They can burn all the fuck they want, and if we do not know the starting point (and even unable to verify the whole chain back to the beginning), then why the fuck would it matter how many of those supposed coins that they are burning, except for the sake of appearances.

Well the big powers never cares for the smaller one. Recent floods are biggest recorded ever and the reason is climate change due to carbon emission. Local people are doing there best to help the people affected by these floods. The humanitarian assistance received so far is only from friendly countries. Trigger warning  Honestly, Ether got pretty useless by the merge, and as usual, useless things tend to become worthless. No question that this coin was never meant to be decentralized and free, because there would have been no switch to PoS. It would not be the worst if Ethereum would get hacked, i mean big time. Even though it would hurt crypto a lot and Bitcoin a little bit too, it would lay out the basic plan for Bitcoin moving forward. I can understand those motivations, like " saving energy", "saving climate", "getting more appealing in a CO2 way of things"... and so on, but this type of hysteria isn't very objective. The underlying assumption is that Crypto is obsolete, some nerdy hoax trend that outgrew itself. Do you by chance think about NFT as well, while finishing to read the preceding sentence? *lol* If Bitcoin would be understood as a tool to manage wealth, it has to seem useless to the unwealthy ones. "Wasting power" is only the cream top. Something important as food can rise in price, need magnitudes more of electric energy for maintaining production and distribution, almost nobody would want to "ban food". Bitcoin has to become more imortant, then it won't be fought as much, people would want to learn how to use it. Shhh! We're watching the queen's coffin procession. I don't know why the whole world is crazy for this royal family. They are just a ceremonial royal family as real power in England lies with parliament. But they got special attention whenever someone of them died, marry someone or have a new born. I'm not. I dd read about the death of Elizabeth n the news, i think it's only hard for her relatives now. Never had any further interest in celebrations or whatever. There must be more people than just me (not) doing that, so "the whole world" seems a bit irritatiing to me. Bear markets are perfect for getting more of a life, imho You are right. There are many people who don't give much importance to that family events but there are equal number of people who get excited for no reason. Like Prince Harry n William marriage got too much attention globally. And yes bear markets are time to buy.
