If anyone should have become an overnight millionaire it should have been me. I've been involved in virtual economies for many years now (mmorpg gold exchanges) and if anyone should have had the foresight to become an early adopter of bitcoin it should have been me but instead I was wasting my time fucking around with virtual gold. I wake up every morning feeling depressed.
It still might not be too late to get into Bitcoin. Prices are substantially lower than what they were 6 months / 1 year ago.

It won't help if the mainstream press is intent on publishing articles linking bitcoin to drugs, gambling, pornography and hackers.

People say Chinese don't care about BTC anymore, so maybe someone should help them care and put thousands of these machines around China. Start with Beijing since so many BTC companies are there.
Is marijuana legal in China? If it is, that would be a good idea.

I would like to see higher adoption among internet-based companies. Penetration in internet-gambling still remains surprisingly low.

There are a lot of obvious solutions. Namely well populated, open areas with good lighting. It doesn't hurt bringing a friend along as well. Or simply meet at the police station.
Like you say, prevention is always better. Possibly, with so much media attention, bitcoin sellers will take these simple precautions.

Greece has a problem with spending beyond their means (as do many others). Until they realize there is no free lunch and that eventually other people won't throw good money after bad, nothing will help them. Bitcoin or any other hard asset, would only prevent them from financial profligacy in the future.
They should solve their problems, repay their debt and then adopt Bitcoin. I don't see that happening in the near future.

Anyone ever got the feeling that Bitcoin is too complex for the average person? The average person wants things as simple as possible, so when the word, Blockchain, Decentralization, etc, come into play, I feel that makes it too complicated for the average person to understand or even care.
Give Bitcoin some time.... Soon, the average person will think of his wallet as some kind of bank account. He really won't care about anything else.

Get some help from Chuck Norris
This would be Chuck Norris' first failure. Bitcoin is too big even for Chuck Norris.

If you plan to hold your coins for the long run, then this is a great time to invest. If you want short term profits, then you need to wish for some mercy from the whales Its just a 10$ drop from yesterday. How is it a great time to buy for long term ? Previous drop was to 152. OP is probably talking about current levels ($200-$250) and not necessarily yesterday's drop.

Bitcoin Payment Option Disappears from WordPress Platformhttp://www.coindesk.com/wordpress-removes-bitcoin-payment-option/WordPress, the web's most popular blogging system, has removed bitcoin from its payments options at checkout.
The open-source platform, which supports over 60 million websites, became one of bitcoin's first high-profile advocates when it announced it would accept the digital currency for premium features in November 2012.
It had listed the currency alongside PayPal and major credit and debit cards, however the bitcoin tab has now mysteriously vanished.

Right now, with all the VC money pouring in, there are enough bets being placed on Bitcoin as well. So even if somebody throws money and tries to stop Bitcoin (by pushing its price down and making people lose confidence), it is not necessary that he will succeed.

It has just been 1 year since they started. They have managed to get the confidence of investors so quickly.

Perianne Boring, host of the Boring Report: I really loved to read the Boring report on Bitcoin. It was nice to see such regular reports on Bitcoin, that too by a woman. Reports by Kashmir Hill on Bitcoin too were a regular feature, some time ago.

Does this mean street walkers will accept Bitcoin soon too? I don't think Bitcoin needs that king of notoriety.
Increased adoption is good, irrespective of who is adopting it. In fact, if street walkers use Bitcoin, it is a sign that the common Joe is getting comfortable with it

China will loosen it reins on btc once they notice a financial disadvantage from international acceptance.
They already have too many dollars. It would be good if they decided to diversify into bitcoins.

It is a drop in the Ocean of Greek's debt. Wouldn't make a difference to Greece and will end up depressing bitcoins' price.

Is it such a terrible idea to own an oz of gold, if nothing more than for nostalgia… Than why not own 1 bitcoin, if bitcoin fails who cares you loose $250….. if it doesnt fail.. well… i think you guys know how that story goes.
There is nothing wrong in suggesting people should own 0.5 or 1 BTC. There is nothing wrong in asking them to avoid BTC either. It is just his point of view the bitcoins are worthless investments.

Money transmitters will soon start lobbying to put regulations in place for these remittances. They have too much at stake to give up easily.

I just wonder what will happen with that cryptos? Police is going to use it somehow? You can't just put back bitcoin into circulation... Any thoughts?
They will probably sell them in a similar way that the Silk Road bitcoin was sold, via auction edit: I would think you would probably get a better deal on these auctions because they are less publicized The auction might be less publicized, but it could attract a lot more bids. The high lot size in the SR bitcoin auctions is one reason why the number of bids is limited.
