1641  Economy / Economics / Re: How has inflation affected your savings and investing? on: September 24, 2021, 04:44:58 PM
It does hurt the budget but we also saved more because we don't really go outside when the pandemic shocked the world.
How come? Expensive kinds of stuff are always bought at malls or shopping centers.
Since we cannot get out anymore (we just don't want to) because of the terrifying illness that might be passed unto us and then with kids we tend to save more by avoiding to eat at fancy restaurants and buy things that we don't really need.

But it did hit the water and electric bills because we are now inside the house the whole day.
About food, vegetables and meat products are still okay but it is fruits that hurt my pockets. We want to be as healthy as we could to avoid being sick but it hurts to see that being healthy means you need to be almost rich.
Savings - As said above, when we break down the total amount spent pre-pandemic compared to now, we actually saved more.
1642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: And this is exactly the reason why we created this Dogecoin shop. on: September 24, 2021, 01:01:37 PM
This should be in the Services discussion/Marketplace as you are already offering something to be purchased.
As far as I know, this is just a business using the trend. Correct me if I am wrong, please.
Still, those items will really have no value, right? There are just for boasting if ever the Doge goes to the moon as what you have told.
I don't mind it but for Dogecoin hardcore supporters this might be a big deal although I don't lots of them in this forum.
1643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 24, 2021, 03:14:26 AM
Don't bet on a team, bet on the over because preseason is like an exhibition game, less defense so most probably the games will go over. However, we still have to look at the total and carefully analyze it because bookies are also smart, they know that thing too and no easy money in gambling for gamblers.
First, thank you stadus for the tip.
Yes, that's what we should do, pre-season is just showing their skills and I was really shocked last year when players getting heat up and almost went to a brawl in a preseason. They are just supposed to play mildly to avoid injuries, the commentator didn't expect that too.  Grin
I am used to betting with Over and Under but I am still looking forward to the other thread for tips and I wish it opens before the pre-season.  Wink

1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good Time to Buy? on: September 23, 2021, 04:18:06 PM
Recovery is coming so you might want to make haste.
There might still be altcoins that are not reflecting the increase in value at the time of posting this.
But, you will have to find them. Chances of not increasing are there but try looking at their price history just to be sure.
I bought 1 BNB at the plunge 2 days ago in preparation for one NFT that I had been researching and might decide to buy. Would also want to try my luck riding the hype.
1646  Economy / Speculation / Re: Always have an exit strategy on: September 23, 2021, 02:35:52 PM
A lot of veterans I talked to back in January/ February had exit plans that were going into action late summer and early to mid fall at the latest. That was a majority of veterans.  I think bitcoins dropping to its new bottom slowly but surely. But it won’t go past ath for a while. It has been nearly a year and 6 months. Historically it probably means the btc 2021 bull run is over.
Maybe, but there is still the Q4  and anything could happen during those left months before the end of the year.
These veterans bought Bitcoin in January?
If that's the case then their exit plan will still be successful even if they do it now. January 1st until the end of it was just 30-35k in USD until mid-February where it skyrocket to 56k.
Now, the question is they are doubting to sell, right? They are taking their chances for a bull run to happen again to maximize the profit. Sounds like greed to me but it's alright. I hope the choice will succeed and volatility won't hit them hard.
1647  Economy / Economics / Re: Our Dear Bitcoin and its price movement. on: September 23, 2021, 11:54:25 AM
You don't have any other choice when you piling up more Bitcoin other than keeping it or trade it.
That's all you can choose from and the latter is riskier so I'd pick the long-term investing.
If it's a good choice to buy, it is. We have already seen the dump after $60k and now we are like in the bottom, that's my opinion.
Bitcoin always comes back up after it is pushed down, it is just patience that you need and avoid being affected by sudden price movements.
1648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 23, 2021, 08:17:17 AM
He is inactive for 3 seasons, and his record on Indiana Pacers which his last team was not impressive. Well, if the Lakers will take chances then they can as Ellis would surely not demand a higher salary, and with this guy's experience, he can certainly help, I hope he still maintains playing basketball despite being out in the NBA for a while.
He coached kids in Mississippi so I guess the stamina is still there.
We don't know about how dangerous he is now though, perhaps there could be some peeks on their workouts so we can decide.
But if he will be signed by the Lakers then I think it will be a yes, he still got something up in his sleeves.

Just found a tweet from KAT and I quote "wtf".
That's it, but details about why he did that kind of tweet starts going out, and here it is.

Gersson Rosas's time with the Minnesota Timberwolves has come to an end. On Wednesday, the Wolves announced that they have parted ways with Rosas just prior to the start of the 2021-22 NBA season.

1649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to Earn While Holding Crypto Assets on: September 23, 2021, 07:34:09 AM
Holding crypto assets doesn't really give you profits unless you surrender the assets you bought from its cheaper price.
Remember, when you sell 1 Bitcoin you lose 1 Bitcoin. Just think about it thoroughly.
1 BTC $800 buy price, same 1 BTC sold for $43000. - At this moment you have $ and will think of a way for re-entry.
If you want to create profits you will be going thru trade so that you could buy back the asset that you sold after a pump.

Staking is kind of a doubtful place for me because of the custody that was gone. If I will stake something I'd rather use cheap altcoins.
1650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about the NFT hype? on: September 22, 2021, 11:45:49 AM
I'll use this time to abuse them NFT's.  Grin
Well, that's what hypes are for. They come and go. All we can do is ride the wave and just pretend we are supporting them for a while.
Then, when it's all done, we could go back to our normal lives and just wait for our other investments to succeed.
Or, if there's a new hype before NFT slows down we could switch slowly and just let go of the damn collections.

Will it last long? Yes.
1651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 22, 2021, 05:19:42 AM
Ben Simmons now officially not reporting to training camp. Seems Vegas is betting he’ll be on the Minnesota Timberwolves before the season starts. I’m still thinking Sacramento but we’ll see.
Hate is real. This is not what I expected from professional players.
Whoever his agent is, he should pursue making Ben attend the training camp to avoid losing money.
Fans are doubting it is just a management issue, this kind of activity is starting to look like a locker room issue also.

I was surprised to hear JJ Redick retired officially today also. One of the better shooters in NBA history. He’ll be missed.
Playoff lucky charm out.  Grin 13 playoffs appearance streak. One of the longest in the NBA tied with Lebron James. Wow.
Sure, he will be missed. Also, one of the top sharpshooters even with a running shot.
1652  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fundamentally good coins on: September 22, 2021, 03:18:09 AM
Most would prefer Bitcoin but that will be the premium choice.
If you want a cheaper but with lots of movement in the market then go for BNB.
You will hit two birds with one stone by doing that. BNB is used for cheaper trading fees at Binance or you can also just make it an asset.
Also, it is widely used by DeFi for cheaper transactions so expect volatility as it grows further.
As Ethereum is still in the phase of upgrading, BNB will dominate the number of tx's.
1653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 21, 2021, 02:49:02 PM

Since we talked about Dallas Mavericks, I just recently know that they are finished as a runner-up on the Kyle Lowry trade. If happened, Lowry will be a good backup for Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr. This is something I looked forward but Lowry chooses the Miami Heat. Not with the money as New Orleans Pelicans has the best offer for Lowry. Maybe he thinks the Miami Heat core squad is much better compare to Dallas Mavericks.

Or maybe, he doesn't want to play at the Western Conference were making the playoffs is so tough and challenging.

Mavs Plan to Sign Kyle Lowry: How Close Were They?
Yes, and minutes.
Heat doesn't have the proper point guard and this could be his time to shine again after the championship with the Raptors.
I am not underestimating Tyler Herro but he has so much to learn and Lowry might also help with how to be a better point guard.
Mavericks have Luka so if I am also to choose I would rather pick a team that would give me more minutes than warming the bench.
Wise choice for Kyle.
1654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: time to add your bag on: September 21, 2021, 12:42:38 PM
Super agree.
Actually, I am waiting and had been monitoring the price. This is when you should open your eyes full time after a lot of rest from the stability two weeks ago.
I am already preparing all the coffee I could get and will try to look for a better entry point.
It's not always you will be given a second and even third chance to buy back so yes, purchasing more will be a good goal rather than sell in panic.
1655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 21, 2021, 02:51:06 AM
What's the hot topic in NBA right now? I want to change poll but couldn't find a good question. Let me know your thoughts please.
It seems like there is no doubt about LaMarcus Aldridge's return. Thanks to all voters.
Since pre-season is within reach with just 13 days countdown, why don't we just do a poll on which team will get the highest amount of wins?
We tally it and then, we could start the new poll of the season. But there might be better poll options so I just told my own suggestion.  Grin

I thought it was just Isaiah Thomas that is working out with the Warriors.
But there are 3 players that are trying to have a chance to get their own break from the ex-champions.
Warriors to work out Isaiah Thomas, Quinn Cook, Avery Bradley and others, per report

Quinn Cook was their ex-teammate and I heard he has the upper hand to take the last slot of the Warriors roster.
1656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I helped 2 non-crypto people invest in bitcoin on: September 21, 2021, 01:12:51 AM
Great. Now it's time to also help them learn more about crypto. It's not just about buying it and setting it aside as an asset. Might as well help them learn how to use it and hope someday it could be beneficial to them.
Since you had the patience to assist them in buying those coins, I wish you also have a long patience and knowledge to answer all their question if ever they suddenly want to dig more.
A good example could be now where almost all cryptocurrencies are down. How will you explain it to them? Also, be clear that you cannot be blamed if ever anything bad happens.
1657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIB the new tough competitor to DOGE on: September 20, 2021, 04:13:48 PM
I tried to take advantage of this coin months ago but I didn't even make a little bit of profit out of it.
In Twitter, it's hyped but in reality, its value won't go up again unless Bitcoin does. So, I just sold everything I had at almost the same price as I bought it.
Luckily, I didn't lose much and now that it gained a little bit because of this kind of news I still don't regret selling it.
I believe there is no future for this. Just a bunch of millionaires playing the market and with the average Joe who invested in it.
1658  Other / Off-topic / Re: Passive Income Sources on: September 20, 2021, 02:42:05 PM
These days, it ain't easy to find one. All have high risks than just medium risks before.
Staking will be the one that will pop out of your mind when we talk about passive income. But damn, you already risk your buying the crypto asset and then you extend the risk by staking it or giving out your hard-earned tokens.
Index funds, stocks ain't that profitable anymore and I think that's why we are here in this forum to browse new options.

I guess all you could do now is pile up as much as top crypto in your wallet and just harvest it long term.

1659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 20, 2021, 10:22:37 AM
edit: Guys a quick question

Do you think Isaiah Thomas will have a chance to really get back to playing in the NBA and stand out as he was before?
Maybe even be an all star player!!? What do you think about this?
I do believe he can stand out but not as an All-Star caliber anymore. Just like how Bobby Portis Jr. stands out doing hustle games and reviving the crowd.
Aiming for the Sixth man of the year could boost him to get a better contract next year but for now, he may want to take anything that will be offered as long as it's still fair for a 1-year salary.
He may not have the same performance as he did but he still has the touch and the speed. But this moment if ever signed, it's just for a chance to redeem himself.
1660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next stop $85K for Bitcoin on: September 19, 2021, 01:36:01 PM
This sounds more plausible, rather than those so-called experts forecasting 6-figures by the end of year-X
True, but I am still in doubt for $85k.
$70k is my highest forecast and I am a bit shy about it.  Grin

El Salvador put more wood in the fire but it didn't react much. What event could still make a big pump in the market? It's difficult to think of another big investor that would risk it when the fall months ago is considered. They might still be looking forward to a cheaper price for an entry.
