721  Economy / Economics / Re: How much food can you store for survival?3 on: July 24, 2022, 03:55:18 PM
The pandemic and lockdown may have trained me from this. I don't want to but it's necessary.
2 years ago or maybe 3. Stayed at home for almost a month. Foods bought at the supermarket once a month and then drinking supply that also last that long.
There's a difference though, I am not diabetic so I guess health issues will surely be something to think about prepping. And then electricity.
I got rice, pasta, canned goods, sardines, tuna, beans, dried fish, frozen goods, nuts (yes this will definitely be a life saver), chocolates.
But the thing with rice and pasta is you need fire, so storing gas will be a necessity. Canned butane are sold in the market that will be loaded in a portable gas stove with the exact size to fit it.
722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 24, 2022, 11:48:36 AM
Word on the street is that the Lakers just offered Jamal Crawford a 1-year contract. Crawford is one of the best sixth man to ever play in the NBA and a relentless scorer. I could see him coming off the bench for a few good moments when they need a bucket. He’s old, but many NBA players were surprised he didn’t have a contract last year, as he’s still one of the better players in the league.

Hmm, not sure about this though, is the Lakers not learned from last year's debacle? I mean getting old and veterans players? and it didn't click right?

No doubt that Crawford can play and one of the best cross over during his prime, but I'm not sure if they still need a guy like him and to be a scorer? He is not a good defender as well so honestly, I will be baffled if they get him.

As a knick fan I love me some Jamal Crawford but I tend to agree.  There are plenty of vets that can still ball but in the backcourt position if you are a step slow on defense than in your earlier years it diminishes your value.  Outside of a select few this is a young man's game and I want mobile guards for sure.  Lakers trying to do anything they can if they sign Crawford up.
A big fan too of the shake and bake maestro but I don't know, there must be a different purpose into why they want Crawford in their roster.
Maybe mentally?
He may be one of the greatest sixth man in the league but those knees are growing weaker as you age.
I don't see him being given even 20 minutes of playtime, it will be more of boosting the morale of their bench.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some Tips To Aide Successful Sports Betting. on: July 24, 2022, 08:51:56 AM
Always go back to basics. Learned that from Kobe Bryant.
There will be a time when we think we are like pros in sports gambling but that is not true. I don't think there's someone who can become a pro at it. Times of losing will happen and its inevitable.
The basics though will help out as long as you know how to settle down your ego.
Been there, had a long streak of winning and after that a long streak of losing too. Because I forgot to go back to the basics doing analysis everyday and checking rosters and injuries. I thought I will do good even without it.
724  Economy / Economics / Re: Can BTC keep up with another Fed rates hike? on: July 23, 2022, 05:18:36 PM
With the way rates are going up, is it advisable to buy and hodl or to apply DCA to buy at intervals as price keeps fluctuating? Fed rates hike link
Buy and hodl whenever you can. That's my opinion. Doesn't really matter when the price will be if you are selling long-term.
But, if you are trying to make profits in short term then it is not advisable to do that. DCA might be your best buddy for that strategy.

One question that might answer your query. Do you think we are having a bad economy now? Base on your analysis or what's going on in your community and your daily consumption.
Yet, Bitcoin is not falling sharp. It actually resisted at the vicinity of $20k. That must/should mean something.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 23, 2022, 02:19:24 PM
^^ I guess it's just a question of Booker's mentality though, I rated him above Tatum couple of years ago, but right now, it seems that Tatum is more clutch than him specially with the way their series with Dallas turns out.

So let's see if he can go back next season with a lot of pride and prove something in return. He is still in his prime, can average 25 ppg++ and be on the top of the scoring list. He just need to be consistent and have that Black Mamba mentality.
I was just about to mention Tatum too but I read this first.  Cheesy Comparison, Tatum is more effective on both ends of the floor. That's the difference.
Booker is too focused on his offense and forgets about how defense will help their team too. They cannot just rely with Jae Crowder and the Warden. He is the weakest link on that side.
So, his escape is to be better on shooting but it seems like he is not yet ready to be a champion.
Game 4. That's the only time he won in points against Luka. But if we sum up the other stats of Luka like assists and rebounds, he won't even be near.
What is lacking? Both are young, height is almost identical but it seems Luka can do everything.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If There's No Casino Signature Will The Gambling Board Still Be The Same on: July 23, 2022, 12:35:36 PM
A chance it would be halved or worse.
Gambling based signatures are growing in this community and I think it helps boosts the amount of active members and also gamblers who are not just doing it for the posts but also gambling on their supported site.
Before I was with Yolodice but sadly the site was closed due to Ethan's personal reasons. But it was fun gambling on that simple site and then the investment feature also got me hooked.
727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The RugPull scams/ How do recognize these projects? on: July 23, 2022, 11:05:26 AM

How do recognize these projects?

1: That Projects that offer an unbelievable profits to investors
There could be a good strategy here. Make sure you don't spend much, then pull out as fast as possible after ROI. The rest will be profits also being pulled out daily or weekly. After you hit the minimum withdrawal take it.
2: Anonymous developments team
There are teams who likes being anonymous trying to be like Satoshi and some of them are doing good even if they are unknown. Their projects are still running.
Safety is their reason for being anonymous.
3: No special innovation
Okay.
4: No review on other sites/Platforms
Well, not all reviews are accurate, maybe they don't want to pay whoever is making the review.
5: Holding most of the total tokens by a specific address
Yes. Be sure they are also locked until the promised time.
Do you know other ways to recognize these projects?
No, a lot of them are good at keeping it a secret. That's why I have my rule to take the ROI out as fast as I can so there won't be regrets in the future.
Luckily, I am doing pretty great at it. Only one of ten of my investments in NFT projects was rugpulled early which means I didn't get the ROI.
728  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto reclaim $1 trillion marketcap. A good sign on: July 22, 2022, 07:09:38 AM
And almost half of that is from Bitcoin. Yet, some says it's a good sign for the whole crypto market. I don't agree.
Some altcoins like memecoins also takes a part of it while they don't really have use case.
We cannot say it's a good sign just by looking at it, it would be better if we look at each cryptocurrency individually especially their projects behind it.
It's not always about the total money being counted.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 22, 2022, 06:16:38 AM

Dragic is old already and If I'm not mistaken, I've read somewhere that the Bulls get him to somewhat have a veteran presence to help Ball. At least somewhat who can guide him to say the least.

As far as seeing 2 Warriors, yeah, I'm not surprised, both Otto Porter and GPII really help them in winning another ring and it was good to see those two getting the money they deserved.
So that was it. Veteran perspective. It was not said in the article because they are praising what he contributed during his Nets career.
But as far as I can remember he was not really that effective anymore so being a veteran in one team using his experience would best match what is needed from him.
As of the other players, I'd agree they are the ones who are underrated that will be a game changer.

730  Economy / Economics / Re: China banka scams shows importance of financial freedom with bitcoin... on: July 22, 2022, 05:11:23 AM
That's just sad.  Cry
Why would they even put tanks in front of the protesters. They are doing it because it's their money and they should have all the right to be angry about their missing savings.
Their government is just adding more fuel to the protestors madness and this will not end well if they answer with violence.
I am glad I am not using banks anymore. Truly, truly, glad. How I wish, this will be resolved in a peaceful way.
731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu's future on: July 21, 2022, 07:03:19 PM
Short-term trading. Yes, that would best fit with memecoins like Shiba Inu.
Long-term holding is a no, no.
A memecoin has nothing to offer in the long run, it was to be just for fun. "meme" Same like Dogecoin. Holding it will jeopardize your investment because there's no assurance as when a group of whales will dump it. It could be later or tomorrow and there's a chance you are asleep while they are dumping it.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2022, 05:52:22 PM
Five underrated NBA free agent signings, including Blazers landing Gary Payton II, T.J. Warren to Nets

Two ex-Warriors in the list.
1. T.J. Warren
2. Goran Dragic
3. Gary Payton II
4. Danuel House Jr.
5. Otto Porter Jr.

I don't know about Dragic being a big impact in Chicago. They got Lonzo Ball there and Coby White as their point. But maybe, if they will try to put Dragic on the shooting guard position and just shoot the ball most of the time than handling it then maybe he can contribute.

We know the Trail Blazers is lacking that force in the defensive end, so GP2 will absolutely have a big role there. I want to see this guy turning to a roleplayer in many years of his career.
733  Economy / Economics / Re: U prepared for great depresion or u want to be surprised? on: July 21, 2022, 11:13:33 AM
Oil will go down
Go down in price? Or go down in distribution? Demand of oil will keep on increasing and those who own the oil rigs and distributors will keep on taking advantage of the high demands by implementing high value for it.
It will not go down, imo. If there's a good investment now, that is the target. As long as that US-Russia conflict is not fixed there will be shortage of oil supply and I doubt Russia will back down to their challenge.
Prepared? That's something that will depend on the economy. You may have kept millions of dollars but there's a chance it will lose its value if bad things happen.
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin limit supply on: July 21, 2022, 08:14:48 AM
Yes, when the total bitcoins will be mine the transaction cost will definitely increase as it will be only the source of income for the miners at that moment. Though I can’t surely say this as the world is moving very fast wrt the innovations.
I doubt that. Transaction cost may go cheaper and faster. Many things could happen.
One of them is some miners giving up because they think it will not be profitable anymore. The difficulty level will go lower and each block will be easier to find.
The other thing is new computing powers. We don't know what will be invented at those times since we will be dead before the bitcoin mined is depleted.
We are humans, we will keep on growing. Upgrading.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on Psychology & Sociology Perspectives. on: July 20, 2022, 06:40:36 PM
I didn't have a clue about that. Test one's luck. Hmmm. It's that simple back then but now it became a gigantic industry that is not just about testing luck anymore. I think no one will do that anymore. Going to a casino, betting in one game and then going out. Heck, you might be stopped by security if you this everyday and will be questioned why.  Cheesy
I see gambling to spice things up and a remedy for boredom when games became just the usual game and not much of an entertainment anymore.

Lacob criticizes 'unfair' luxury tax that penalizes Warriors

Quote
But aside from Wiggins and free agents signed to veteran minimum contracts last summer, the Warriors were a team full of players they drafted and developed. And it's for that reason that Lacob isn't a fan of the current luxury tax situation implemented by the league.
Quote
"The truth is, we're only $40 million more than the luxury tax. Now, that's not small but it's not a massive number. We're $200 million over in total because most of that is this incredible penal luxury tax. And what I consider to be unfair and I'm going to say it on this podcast and I hope it gets back to whoever is listening ... and obviously it's self-serving for me to say this, but I think it's a very unfair system because our team is built by -- all top eight players are all drafted by this team."
I understand what Lacob is trying to point out.
Their three guys Steph, Klay, and Draymond where not really superstars to begin with. All of them did massive work to obtain wherever they are right now.
I guess we could say the system is not perfect and perhaps the NBA should also look into this.
Same case with Dirk Nowitzki who was built by the Mavs until he became a champion thru hard work.
Quote
But if you're developing your own guys and paying Steph Curry what he deserves and Klay Thompson what he's earned, why am I paying $200 million in luxury tax? I don't think that's fair."
But if the NBA change some rule about the luxury tax it may became another flaw and other teams will take advantage of it.
737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: News about the Merge pushed ETH to $1,400 on: July 20, 2022, 12:12:45 PM
I consider this to be short-term bull only. The FOMO is rising and investors will keep on riding the wave to make quick profits.
If I have the money, I'd do the same but I stashed Bitcoin first and I know I will be reaping the rewards soon. But it will not as fast as where Ethereum will go with the recent explosive news that they leaked out.
Expect more while the trend is hot but as soon as the launch is near it might fade away.
738  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you look down on Bushy or undeveloped areas? on: July 20, 2022, 10:29:20 AM
Yes it is. The place that I bought was all bushy before. It almost look like a farm and when I bought it there is a less amount of people living in it.
Now, there are kids playing outside you can hear the noise from neighbors and there are many shops built.
The price of my property now didn't just double, it is now tripled because I am still checking the website about the prices of spots that is still vacant.
Told my friends about it and now they are regretting they didn't buy as early as they did. They are having a hard time now to get a good place and position while before you could pick anywhere you want.
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 19, 2022, 05:29:32 PM
Now here's Harden giving way to strengthen their roster thru cutting his salary. It will be a great boosts to their chemistry because now Embiid knows they are on the same page.
Getting a pay cut to improve the roster is already a big boost to the morale of your teammates. They now know that Harden will give everything to have a championship ring on his fingers. Hopefully, Embiid and Harden can stay healthy to be able to realize their dreams. They are both great players and I would love to see them get a championship.
That's like nature. We will never know if it will happen or not. I guess we will just have to cross our fingers for the injuries to stay away from them.  Cheesy
It's Embiid that I am worried mostly. Last time was the finger/palm (something to do with his hand) problem and we can see how he is like a laboring new mother trying to play the game even if it's at the worst condition.
Most big guys aches their lower part so I think he just need to keep that healthy and he can still play the game regardless where the injury will be at his upper part. He will definitely force it if he can, that's a winning player, imo.
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people still buying XRP? on: July 19, 2022, 04:36:58 PM
I don't know if you call this buying but I just sell other coins for it and then send XRP to a local then exchange again for USD.
It's more like a bridge because of the low transaction fees but I am not holding. I quickly sell it again for something else right after I receive it.
It doesn't even take 5 minutes being an XRP.  Grin I haven't got a clue if that helps with the demands to increase in value but I know many does the same thing.
