1662  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [BUYING]1 BTC Silver and Gold/Silver Casascius MS-67 on: November 18, 2014, 08:46:40 PM
How much does the Gold-B MS67 go for these days?
1663  Economy / Goods / Re: just bought a trezor and am thinking about selling it. on: November 18, 2014, 08:18:17 AM
probably, depends on how much it costs to ship it there, the trezor is freaking tiny, so weight wouldnt be an issue, but customs declaration would be the only issue that I could see, but i could find out the value you can ship an item before you have to pay tax. no tax was paid to ship to me, but dont know about canada.

Where are you shipping from?

Does edit of OP result in a "bump to the top" ?
1665  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to bump a thread by deleting and re-posting the last post ? on: November 17, 2014, 06:27:55 PM

Looks great, now is the rule clear for everybody.
1666  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to bump a thread by deleting and re-posting the last post ? on: November 17, 2014, 06:20:09 PM
Admins can see deleted posts but not mods. Threads are allowed to be bumped once per 24 hours and you should delete previous bumps so that's ok, but not if you just keep bumping all day and deleting them.

Thank for the info.

Is that specific rule written down? - if yes, can you direct me with a link?
Reason I ask is that I sometime sell stuff in the market section and also bumps once in a while, it would be nice to study the exact rules.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

It's in mprep's list of rules above but not sure where else. Maybe in the stickies in the marketplace.

All-right, thanks - I will study it.
Marketplace only have one sticky "Prevention is better than a cure. Please escrow.".

Nevertheless, I spend most of my time in "Marketplace" and I have never seen "bumping" being abused.

Hi Everyone, I thought this would be the right category to post in, however if a mod sees fit that this should go else ware, I understand.

Saturday night I wanted to use my bitcoin debit card for the first time to do something unique and show all the people out there who seem to believe that bitcoin is only for criminals or can not be used like paper money, that they are wrong.

Thank you for sharing, I think you did a good thing.
Bottom line, those guys looked super happy to get a burger.
1669  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] US GOLD / SILVER COINS on: November 17, 2014, 10:48:50 AM
please contact me with encryption

I am curious, about the paranoia?
Use encryption when sending sensitive information, e.g. shipping address - agreed.
Use sign the message with the payment addy - agreed.

But you are asking a potential seller to encrypt the message with his current stock, why?
1670  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 🌟 TRADE Your Physical Cryptos HERE 🌟 on: November 15, 2014, 11:10:00 AM
Any cheaper Casascius coins (at this point in time I would probably only be able to afford the premium on a 0.10 BTC coin, or possibly a spent/redeemed coin to start with Casascius BTC)

The only Cas coin with a premium near 0.1 is the half brass.
Good luck with your collection Smiley
1671  Other / Off-topic / Re: Pictures from Russia. NSFW!!! on: November 14, 2014, 09:45:23 PM
In some Russian manufacturing in the past, they had a system of 10 hours on, and 20 off. I don't know what they had in line of a work-week, if they had one day off a week, or what. Maybe someone can answer that. But...

The whole world uses clocks. The whole modern world uses the 24-hour day, with either 24-hour or 12-hour clocks.

Stupid Western Europe. They want to be metric. Metric is 10. They try to spread metric to the USA and around the world. Yet they use the 12-hour or 24-hour clocks.

Russia could show the rest of the world what "10" really is like. How? Make a 10-hour day, with 5 hours of daylight and 5 hours of darkness. Divide each hour into 10 equal segments rather than stupid minutes. Show the world what 10 is. Show them how hypocritical they are with all their 10 measurements, yet they won't apply their 10 to time.

Smiley

10 is really a silly base number to use. 8 or 16 would be much more logical.
But in the end it all boils down to historical reasons.

I used to think like that. I wondered why the Maker gave us 10 fingers. Maybe 8 wouldn't be enough. Maybe 16 would get in the way.

Smiley

Base12 would actually be more convenient in everyday life than base10.
Think about it: 12 is easy dividable with: 1,2,3,4,6. Where 10 can only easy be divided with 1,2,5.... 10 is just a silly number to have as base Cheesy

1673  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: November 14, 2014, 09:10:53 PM
Protip: Lowercase m makes it mf=millifarad=1000μF.  But even a 470 Megafarad cap, if someone managed to make one, would work fine.  Filters are filters, can't have too much Smiley

I am pretty sure it is a decoupling cap.
In that case, would it only work "fine" if the ESL is not too high.
1674  Economy / Securities / Re: [NastyFans.org] NASTY MINING | POOL | COINS on: November 14, 2014, 07:13:44 PM
I'm not sure if this is enough to keep the unit from showing up to cgminer (my gut says "no"), but I am hoping for a bit of luck once it's replaced.

...
Just wondering, any news on the capacitor?

Protip:  If no junk pile--a trip to RadioShak, any form factor cap with leads (radial or axial) >6V >=470Mf, (should be a buck or two), a cheapy soldering iron and a roll of flux solder.  Trim leads/bend to fit solder pads/solder/a dab of silicone to keep the cap from rattling off, you're done.

Protip: watch out for the capital letters, 6.3V, 470 Mega farad would be hard to find Cheesy

Valenki

Was it these ones that forced a "NSFW" in the title of the thread?  Cheesy
1676  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Selling] *Crypto Imperator Bitcoin Physical coins! BTC* on: November 12, 2014, 08:21:43 PM
I have just received 5 x Special edition.
I must say I am impressed about the quality.
Considering order more coins  Tongue

Yes the quality on these new ones is better compared to Doge Series 1 Smiley

That is also my observation, they are really great, highly recommended.

Off topic:
Really got deja-vu right now by looking at the bitcoin exhange rate... it must be a pump, I cannot see how this can happen again without china.

..And yes Atari is better than PS3.

Without any doubt.

Replied Smiley

Just got my code, worked perfectly.
I paid upfront with no escrow.

The value of the voucher was just added on top of my current balance (the value was automatically converted to my local currency, DKK).
Really cool, thank you Smiley

I'd use one in my garage.  Would keep the place warmer.  It was -25 here last night!

Uhhh... a couple of CRT and other electronic using iron-core transformers should help!
