Carillo said she thinks she knows who the owner is through doing Internet searches. "As far as I know, it's that guy who runs Bitcoin," she said.

That's like a closing line from an Onion article.
Yeah she really needs to delete that line.

No she doesn't. If somebody said it it's because people think it.

that's why people spoke out to stop this and shit like this all along. "I can do what I want with my money" says the bagholder who has invested in various schemes here. I don't give a shit about the person that has all the information, thinks they can pull a fast one or has no problem "investing what they can afford to use," they're going to get robbed eventually anyway, at least this way brings some joy to the world while i can laugh at them.

the problem with these scams is that if they are a person's first venture into the cryptoworld, or even people that just hear about the scam second hand like that woman will not get involved. An ounce of due diligence and common sense when hashlets started, never mind when the impossible <$4 to $4 to $20 scheme was unveiled would have shut this down and that woman would think Garza is just a regular asshole, now she thinks he's an asshole that runs bitcoin.

How do people not lose their shit when receiving an email like that one quoted at the bottom of the article. It literally says nothing.

A trademark of Ganza enterprise, respond to a simple question with 1,000 words that don't even make sense but use enough buzzwords to make people too embarrassed to ask "what the fuck does that mean?"
1663  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you guys win these gambling sites on: July 08, 2015, 11:49:54 AM
to win at gambling you need to make bets that have a positive expected value.

You will not find that on a legitimate dice site because if they offered bets with a positive expected value for the player they would run out of money and close.

You can do that in things like sports betting or poker, but it certainly isn't easy and requires lots of work, and even then you still need a little luck on your side.

Oh-em-gee it seems that Josh-Lite (Travis Mitchell) has persuaded his 'budget-Rishabh' 'investor' to buy over 50% of his PoS coin, thereby rendering it instantly worthless.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=687207.760

Relevance to XPY? Travis Mitchell is the founder of talk.paycoin.com

All of this stems from the same problem. People see that other people made money owning/holding/trading/whatever with bitcoins, and they want to make money too. Can't make money with bitcoin, so let's try "fill in the blank"coin without actually coming up with a reason for the coin to exist, besides to help them make money.

that will never work.
1667  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion Paycoin XPY CPIG BTCLend xpyerr.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: July 06, 2015, 01:38:49 PM

but why did they even use so much power then? I mean, they never planned on running a lot of miners.

It would be great if someone that was "managing" a bunch of prime controllers knew anything at all about that data center and could inform the public what the hell is going on instead of just dumping coins that he didn't pay for.

too bad that person doesn't exist, because I'm sure they would have talked if they did.
1668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ** Sports Predictions - Free - (Wins:4/Loss:1) - New Start ** on: July 06, 2015, 01:03:52 PM
since you are new here and your stats still fresh , would you please use units instead of how many matches you won or lost ,this will be way better and really helpful.
also can you suggest a good parlay for wimbeldon today with like X3 odds , I have visited oblg and there are many picks but I'm not that good with tennis
so 3-4 suggested matches would be really great
I refreshed my stats, It was 21-6. And i dont understand the system of units.
I will PM you the parlay for Wimbledon.

As I tried to explain in PM, units is money, you need to keep track of how much money you have won or lost for anyone to know how good you are at betting on sports.

I will keep track using the standard (which actually makes things look better for you) of betting enough to win 1 unit when odds are less than 2.0, and betting 1 unit when the odds are 2.0 or greater.

Someone should make a book like this about the Paycoin disaster, where all the hilarious and depressing details are put together in a narrative. And help the victims too, preferably...

It's realy not all that interesting.

Liar makes outrageous claims.

Idiots give him money.

People try to warn them.

money disappears. It happens every day.

what kind of man throws accusations with no evidence? NO MAN! You have collectively destroyed many lives. Was that your intent? Is that your purpose in life? Because you live a miserable existence you feel the need to do the same to others?

Who are you talking about? You can't keep saying that and expect us to stop when we have no clue who you are referring to.

the people that ran a company that ran up and ran off on a 350k power bill? The guy who took investors money by promising a 100 million in funding that was really an IOU from him that he never paid? The people that sold a product advertised as "never obsolete" that barely lasted a few months before becoming obsolete?

It works because this guy can come up with BS excuses to shut the site down and not pay anyone for a few days and then you geniuses rush back and give him more money the first second you can.

you go into a feeding frenzy whenever you think a Garza is in "da" house. I am not a Garza. I do take offence when you drag an innocent person into your bizarre world of conspiracy, ponzi and alleged crimes which as of today have been completely unfounded. Let the shit storm begin! I actually enjoy watching you squirm and throw out accusations. I just make you look more stupid with each post.

I hate feeding the troll, but let's throw some in there.

If you actually give a shit why don't you tell us what poor innocent is being dragged down instead of letting us continue to recklessly speculate and further tarnish someone's good name.

I tried to explain to the thread starter that it's important to keep track of units when doing something like this because it's a lot easier to win bets like the wnba or the tennis bet than the baseball bet, but haven't seen any changes.

Since he is looking for transparency I will step in and help out. I will use the standard bet 1 unit when the odds of winning are 2.0 or greater, bet enough to win 1 unit if the odds are less than 2.0. We can bet more than 1 unit or to win more than 1 unit if it is mentioned at the time of the bet.

There are 10.11 units on the line today, good luck.
1677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: July 05, 2015, 04:48:50 PM

Whats the point of having so much rolls? That is not guarantee you will win a lot from that high roll small bet. You will can sustain more losses but it is just wasting time if you can't get profit from it

[/quote

I have no idea why people set up bots to run so many rolls in a row without actually doing anything, but that doesn't change the fact that people do it. It is much easier to get to 1 million rolls, and therefore have a 38% chance of losing 20 in a row and losing everything on a dice site with a bot than it would be at a roulette table if you had the bankroll and a casino willing to set up limits allowing you to use a martingale system where it takes 20 bets in a row to go broke.

I am being blammed for wrong stats as i can see. visit www.btc-tipster.blogspot.com and none of them was edited. I had lost yesterday and you guys are saying that i am not transparent. today also you can see i posted 4 bets and i won 2 and 2 are still pending. I will be removing my self moderated thread and will start a normal one for your confirmations.

I never want anyone to loose on my predictions. sorry.

You need to start posting the odds of your bets for anyone to take you seriously/give a shit. picking someone who is 75% to win a tennis match to win is not impressive.
1679  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk honest tipsters on: July 05, 2015, 02:29:23 PM
I usually follow the tipster from Joca, they are quite fair and always include a transparent statistics  Smiley

Not transparent for his premium picks, he claim to have XX-XX record but we never see any pick at all. Anyone can claim to have XX-XX records without showing them the picks.

Any self-moderation @tipster or a bookie thread is just laughable.

In addition, i can just quote myself from 2 months ago

Here are the clues that should trigger your
7) Not operating in 'units'. Either just not mentioning it or just using broad definitions like "small, medium, big"  - Not a sign of a scammer by any means, more like a sign of a rookie who bets according to "a feel".

Why are you suppose to operate in units? you can also operate in BTC I think and that is more easier for some people because not everyone understand units

bitcoin is just a type of unit. Real gamblers trying to display an accurate record will determine what their base unit is, and explain their plays in terms of that so it's easier to keep track.

a 1 unit play, 1 unit could be 1 dollar, 10 dollars, 100 dollars, 1 bitcoin, 10 bitcoins, .1 bitcoins whatever should risk 1 unit on bets that are +100 or higher odds (american style) and risk enough to win 1 unit on odds -101 or worse. That is the standard in the industry to keep accurate records. Just a win/loss record is meaningless because a loss on a -300 bet is 3 times as worse as a loss on a -110 bet.

The accurate way to keep a record, especially for public consumption if you plan on charging people for your picks would involve every bet looking like this.

New Yorks Mets money line. Risk 1 unit to win 1.55 units. Bet placed at Nitrogen Sports at 10:35 AM EST (this part is important so people can check to make sure you aren't full of shit, and because if the odds are changed by the time someone reads your tip 5 hours later they should know.)

after the game ends my record will either be 1-0 +1.55 units, or 0-1 -1 unit. It's important to list total record and a bankroll because losing as a big favorite hurts a lot more than winning as a big favorite would.

If you think the bet is really important, you can risk more units, but you have to keep track so that there is an accurate reflection in your record.

So it would say Mets, risk 2 units to win 3.094 units.
1680  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Fiat out of HitBTC on: July 05, 2015, 05:31:06 AM
If people are talking like that I would not send any coins there hoping to get out fiat. that is how Gox started, and look where that ended.

The price being that high seems like a giant red flag to me. If you could get out cash, people doing arbitrage would be all over it and the price would be going down. If you can't get out cash, the price can just go sky high like Gox did because cash there is worthless. People that bought coins for "$1000" and were able to withdraw their coins ended up in a much better situation than people that sold their coins there and got "$1000" that they couldn't get out, same thing could be happening here.
