1661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ethereum get to $500 this year? on: February 14, 2019, 08:27:37 PM
I don't see the price of Ethereum at $500 unless BTC reached a figure like $6k and above this year, the whole market is BTC dependent and as long as the trade of Ethereum is against BTC it will continue to dictate its price also remember that the ICO party seems over and BNB tokens is entering into the ICO game which will surely have impact on the growth of Ethereum
1662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should invest into ICOs that have a working product. on: February 14, 2019, 08:13:17 PM
I think there should be a clear definition of Working product, I have seen some guys pop up on this forum soliciting for funds and claiming they have a working products, if you have a working product and no one is using it, it is more or less useless for investors to invest into it. What we need in this space is adoption, people are not using these platforms and it is a major concern to me
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Withdrawal Issues, KYC/AML and cryptocurrency exchange regulations in 2019 on: February 14, 2019, 08:09:22 PM
There was a time I was using IDAX and after depositing into the exchange and done with trading and to withdraw my BTC I was told to first carry out KYC before I can withdraw my tokens, I just feel this doesn't not make any sense because if I won't be able to withdraw my tokens without KYC then I shouldn't be able to deposit without KYC
1664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WBTC ERC-20 token backed by BTC on: February 12, 2019, 09:35:06 PM
Things like this is prone to abuse, Decentralise exchanges want to have a slash of the centralise fees collected from trading BTC but since they are mostly built on Ethereum platform they need something to get around this. A lot is said of Tether and most of the stable coins that they are not backed with real USD in ratio 1:1 and I can see this in play with WBTC in future
1665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No one is using dapps on: February 12, 2019, 09:16:33 PM
https://bitcoinist.com/ethereum-eth-dapps-0-volume/

There are now 1375 live ETH dApps.
86% of them had 0 users today.
93% of them had 0 tx volume today.

Across all platforms there are now 1828 live dApps.
77% of them had 0 users today.
85% of them had 0 tx volume today.
Because they are all useless. dapps looks overrated in my opinion dude. Most of them don't even know what means of decentralized is. They are not giving the common usage that can bring demand. That's why they have not even gotten any a users.

I will not say they are all useless there are some Dapps that looking it from development side they are sound but what I think is wrong in the space is that most of the team just focus on developing a Dapp without looking at the marketing side, Apple and Samsung spent alot of money to market their product to users and these developers need to start thinking like a business man and not just s developer
1666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BAT (Basic Attn coin) and Brave browser on: February 12, 2019, 09:13:16 PM
BAT is definitely one of the few projects in the space that have real use and working platform with a credible team, but so far they are still struggling on the way to incorporate their tokens with their platform, the team has played with several model but still do not think those model is right for the platform, having said all these the future is bright for the project
1667  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Australia looks at Initial Coin Offerings positively on: February 12, 2019, 09:10:20 PM
There is no doubt that there are some positives about ICOs, I don't know if we would have had projects like Ethereum surviving today without the ICO, but the issue here is abuse of the ICO process and the protection for investors into these project. I have decided that me I am not investing again into a project offering just tokens to the investors,  I want more for my investments that is why I think STOs will certainly lead they way in coming months and year, because the team will need to open up to the investors and clear the air on certain issues and also open up their books for scrutiny
1668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRONdeck on: February 12, 2019, 09:05:43 PM
The issue I have with most of these games on blockchain is that they are having difficulties attracting real users, and what I have observed in the space is that winners takes all, new game just popping up and want to enter into a competitive space without clear marketing strategy is going to be tough to survive
1669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ICON what happened? on: February 10, 2019, 07:41:01 PM
The staking reward is crazy, 12% per month not even per year. One of the main ting that helped Waves tokens is the low reward given out for those staking their coins which help to reduce the inflation rate. ICON was one of the most hyped ICO in 2017, a direct competitor to Ethereum and two years later no real Dapps is running on the platform, until all these platforms start having real users and applications they would end up in Zero value
1670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: buy NEO coins now? on: February 09, 2019, 07:43:05 PM
NEO was the worst performing tokens last year, I can't believe this project was once over $100 and now languishing below $10, this just shows how immature the space is, it was marketed as the China Ethereum and since then nothing of note have been achieved on the platform even those projects running Dapps on it are complaining of lack of upgrade from the team
1671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There are so many cryptocurrencies in the market, what do they do? on: February 09, 2019, 07:22:47 PM
Hype is just part of the life cycle of a new industry, it happens with the internet and dot.com companies when people believe all they need to do is to put their business on a website and that is all, there are some interesting projects in the space, Augur and DAI are two projects that stand out for me now because they already have working platform and many more projects are coming up with little or no hype because they are just focus on building something great for users. Forget they hype and see the real use case and you would marvel
1672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bakkt is a new hope? on: February 09, 2019, 07:10:47 PM
BAKKT just release their Q4 result and the profit was very impressive without Crypto, I just hope these just indeed bring their institutional friends and money into the space, we don't want a situation where they would be taming the price of BTC, they should allow market forces to decide the price and since we are getting more  people into the space their price should increase which is basic law of demand
1673  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next-Gen Blockchains are Fee-less on: February 09, 2019, 07:03:15 PM
It is funny that you bring up this argument of fee up, Fee is serving an important role in the ecosystem, with the reduction in the mining reward what incentives do you have for miners for them to keep securing the next work. Let me tell you, nothing is absolutely free, someone somewhere is paying the price for tat which you think is free
1674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The crypto market is starting to improve??? on: February 09, 2019, 06:59:49 PM
I was very glad to see BTC bounce back from $3300 level if it was allowed to slipped downwards maybe the $3k barrier would have been broken and could have trigger another level of panic sale, because many stop orders would be trigger. I just hope this time around we have hit the bottom of the market
1675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the cheater? on: February 09, 2019, 06:56:19 PM
I don't know why people fail to realize that the loyalty of the team is to their project and not to bounty hunters. You said it, if you have people cheating and farming accounts into project, the team can apply their discretion and delay the tokens distribution, as for tokens dumping when it gets to exchanges, investors too are suffering because it is not easy to see you investment drop form $1000 to $25 and it is  also a wrong assumption to think that bounty hunters do not invest in some of these ICO
1676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bullish trend has commence! on: February 08, 2019, 08:18:41 PM
I just visit coinmarketcap now and all the coins are in green.  Since this year I think this is the single pushed we have had.  Investors are reacting to the news of about approve ETF by the sec.  I think now provide us another opportunity to buy bitcoin at cheap price again.

We are all happy to see the green day but remember this is weekend most of the gains in weekends are not sustainable, It is a plus to have a feedback from SEC top man, that ETF is a matter of when. My advice to people is that they need to positioned themselves now for the coming bull because most people will likely miss out when these money bags enter into the space
1677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I hear that Monero has a new competitor in town on: February 08, 2019, 08:15:16 PM
I don't know why people only feel the only thing you need to make a project a success is technology, Monero has many competitor including Bitcoin but the team has done a great job to distinguish it out from the crowd. For now, I don't see any privacy coins that come close Monero for now
1678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What causes tokens been dumped after a successful ICO. on: February 08, 2019, 08:09:59 PM
I don't know why you are trying to justify this, that bounty hunters are not the ones dumping the price after the ICO, there is no way bounty hunters can be make clean of this issue, because when you see someone using different accounts to claim tokens and move it to exchange to sell because he or she got it through a cheat. For me everyone is guilty, the team, VCs and he investors because it does not make sense to me to buy something today and sell at loss a week later, this is even common of ICOs without bounty campaigns
1679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto is not a get rich quick scheme but you can get rich if you provide value on: February 08, 2019, 07:58:49 PM
I think I disagree with you, there is no investment in the world where you can get the kind of return you get in Crypto, just forget the 2018 bear market, and look at the true picture, Bittorent ICO did between 5X to 10X for investors, where in the world can you get that, if I get this kind of ROI now, I will be exceedingly glad, one can still get rich quick in Crypto
1680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investors in 2019? on: February 08, 2019, 07:55:48 PM
People will always invest into a project where there is possibilities of making money, the recent Bittorent ICO is a good example, another thing here is that market move in circle, I could remember when I joined the space and people usually refer to those that bought BTC around $200, $100 range, now is another opportunity to buy the dip and people are scared doing so.
