1661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core or XT, you dont have to choose NOW. Dont bother with the poll.... on: June 01, 2015, 01:26:08 AM
Moving to the new fork does this mean the 21 million coins are raised?

No the 21 million coins limit stays exactly the same whatever happens. Nothing's going to change that limit.

Actually, the 21 million coin limit can be raised at any time, and most probably will be in the future.
1662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Threatens to Quit Bitcoin Development and Join Hearn's Fork on: June 01, 2015, 01:09:40 AM
I think it's possible to make Bitcoin decentralized but it will take some sort of creative voting mechanism integrated into the client.

The best approach until that system is achieved is to go with the person that Satoshi hand-picked to succeed him.
1663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: June 01, 2015, 12:09:22 AM
I wonder when we will see still the normal upgrade wallet? Until now Goldcoin wallet based on the old protocol version  Bitcoin 1.0.
Developers had a lot of time since the last release. But nothing has changed, for except a correcting eliminate fork.
Maybe you have any idea how to make goldcoin more interesting coin? than the classic pump and dump scheme..

Here's the forum where you can ask our developer anything you wish about the upcoming java client.

https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?board=56.0

The new Goldcoin client will be multi-coin ready, multi-threaded, and a complete rewrite of the Bitcoin codebase.
1664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: May 31, 2015, 12:17:35 PM
Actually, the guy tried to have people killed and children died buying drugs from his website.

The government often oversteps its bounds, but in this case I think the punishment fits the crime.

Ross Ulbricht forced no one to do anything, and you're classic example of sheeple. Actually, his site brang nothing but quality in free market.

Silk Road actually "expanded" drug availability by making dangerous substances available to anyone with a computer and some bitcoins.

It was this "anything goes" policy that made the website a nuisance to society. Silk Road should have stuck to natural plant medicines.
1665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core or XT? POLL on: May 31, 2015, 02:41:12 AM
Satoshi picked Gavin to succeed him for a reason. It's not like he picked some random guy from the forum. Why should we now question Satoshi at this late date? The inventor intended for that selection to mean something.

I feel like the best thing to do is let Gavin make the changes as "HE sees fit" and then celebrate with a beer or two!
1666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht Sentenced to Life in Prison on: May 31, 2015, 02:27:19 AM
This has been bothering me all day, this case just shows the lengths the US gov will go to keep all us sheeps in line. They don't care about the drugs, that's just an excuse. What they are threatened by is the lack of control they had over Silk road. They couldn't make a buck out of it.

Actually, the guy tried to have people killed and children died buying drugs from his website.

The government often oversteps its bounds, but in this case I think the punishment fits the crime.

1668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The only thread you need to read on the bitcoin >20mb blocks (Gavins proposal) on: May 31, 2015, 01:14:24 AM
What if anything does all of this mean for the average, non mining, Bitcoin hodler?

It means Gavin is the anointed Bitcoin God, which is honestly just fine by me! Cheesy
1669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin creators able to increase the limit of the number of bitcoins? on: May 31, 2015, 01:11:22 AM
Hi guys I'm just wondering is bitcoin creators able to lift or increase the limit of the number of bitcoins which can ever be produced(21,000,000)?

When you answer, if possible please also let  me know how sure are you about the answer.  I need some advise on this. Thanks.

Bitcoin is a monarchy and King Gavin can just force any change on us. So better get used to the idea of a quantitative easing later!

I love this forum because people are free to express their views (generally) without censor. So kudos to all the mods!
1670  Bitcoin / Project Development / [OFFICIAL] The New & Official Bitcoin Facebook Group - FREE BTC!! on: May 30, 2015, 11:52:22 PM

Since the Bitcoin groups on Facebook are all either dead of censored, I've decided to dedicate my entire summer to building a better Facebook group. Unlike the cheerleading-only Bitcoin Reddit, or the other pro-voice venues, this group will be open to all voices interested in Bitcoin.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/1456342007996941

To get things kicked off, I'm giving away free bitcoins until midnight tonight. Simply join the group and post your bitcion address as a comment in the first post as instructed. Then site back and watch as the FREE Bitcoins arrive in your wallet!!  Kiss
1671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin announcement explanation please. on: May 30, 2015, 11:18:05 PM
Here's the nutshell explanation:

Gavin is going to make some critical (and necessary) changes to the Bitcoin code. Then everyone will join the new fork because that's the only thing that makes sense.
1672  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Is About to Fundamentally Change on: May 30, 2015, 08:03:04 PM
"Bitcoin is heading towards a hard fork in the road. Gavin Andresen, one of Bitcoin’s most important developers, announced today that he will move forward with a controversial code update that will leave miners and Bitcoin services on either side of an irreparable divide.

The plan, proposed earlier in May by Andresen, addresses worries that the Bitcoin network won’t be able to handle the load of large-scale adoption because of a predetermined hard cap on the size of "blocks," the name for the packets of transaction data that miners upload to the blockchain, the publicly viewable ledger of all Bitcoin transactions.

The solution he’s proposing is to increase the size of blocks from one megabyte to 20 with a code update. This means that fewer blocks would be uploaded to the blockchain overall, easing network congestion. But in doing so, it will also split the blockchain into two versions using the different block sizes, and miners and services will be forced to choose between them."

1673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core or XT? POLL on: May 30, 2015, 07:46:01 PM
I voted for XT because it has a more modern feel and Satoshi hand-picked Gavin.
1674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: What Will Happen to Bitcoin After Gavin's Announcement? on: May 30, 2015, 07:35:15 PM
What do you think will happen?

I predict that Gavin will be chosen as our official leader and march us into the lap of victory!
1675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin core developer using fame to manipulate the community on: May 30, 2015, 07:10:11 PM
We need a central figure to take control of the Bitcoin ship and guide it between the icebergs.

It's fine if the other developers want to submit proposals, but Gavin should have the final say when it comes to core changes.
1676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So the destruction of Bitcoin is now official? on: May 30, 2015, 05:22:35 PM
I think the majority will convert to chain B, because it can handle more transactions. I'm wondering if chain A starts to fade how low its price will go in case there would be a trading pair between the 2 chains.

The person who controls Satoshi's alert key has a lot of pull. Let's just all agree that Gavin is the leader and be done with this nonsense. Cheesy
1677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin creators able to increase the limit of the number of bitcoins? on: May 30, 2015, 05:10:57 PM
Hi guys I'm just wondering is bitcoin creators able to lift or increase the limit of the number of bitcoins which can ever be produced(21,000,000)?

When you answer, if possible please also let  me know how sure are you about the answer.  I need some advise on this. Thanks.

The correct answer is, "Yes". Not only can this number be increased, I believe that sometime in the future it will be increased.

Why do you think it will be increased in the future? I'm sure some people out there would not want to buy into bitcoin based on believing that alone. Would you be ok if it was increased in the future?

I think Gavin's answer would be "never to rule out anything regarding future development."

Increasing the cap could be a good thing for a variety of reasons. It would depend on the circumstances at that point in time.
1678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavins recent annoucement. DO NOT panic on: May 30, 2015, 05:07:16 PM
I see a lot of people are now doubting Bitcoin even though nothing has changed the threads which are discussing what gavin has said are mostly fud they are trying to stir a shit storm before anything has even happended. Do not sell your coins just yet people its an attempt to drive prices down even further.

It's not FUD when people are quoting Gavin's own words. Cheesy

1680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Threatens to Quit Bitcoin Development and Join Hearn's Fork on: May 30, 2015, 02:02:24 PM
In an endless effort to promote a ShitCoin named GoldCoin, OP is doing all these. Check his post history. I blocked his 2 previous FUD right after his post. But, this time I missed it. Undecided

Sticking one's head in the sand and name calling won't resolve this problem. Pointing out the weaknesses of a model can help make it stronger.

The way I see this issue is there's "an illusion" (a lie basically) that Bitcoin is decentralized. In all seriousness, I think the best course of action would be to quit pretending and accept the fact that Gavin has complete control.

Then we can stop the endless debate and allow Gavin to concentrate on making the changes to the code which are going to happen anyway.
