In order to qualify, you must complete the following steps:

1. Download the current app from the Google Playstore. (or get it here: http://www.gldcoin.com/downloads/goldcoin-wallet-1.16.apk)

724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: September 14, 2016, 04:09:45 PM
Hello community.

Stouse49 is preparing to publish our new Android application on the Google Playstore. Beforehand, we could use a couple additional beta testers to check how well the new application installs over the existing version.

Here's a link to the thread: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=3609.msg17030;topicseen#msg17030

You can find the download link to the new app a couple of posts above the linked post. We're offering 200 Goldcoins to each beta tester who posts their results in the forum thread.

Thank you!

Is there a cap to the total amount of coins written into the code?

Yes, of course. Total coin production is governed by a formula, not a constant.

Reward is reduced each year using the following formula:
50 divided by (1.1 + 0.49*every year thereafter)

This results in a coin total to be minted of 72,245,700 as per the OP of this thread.

You should try to get GLD removed from Coinwarz. It often displays inaccurate data, which in turn gets miners joining in with huge hashrate, which then makes the security system kick in, resulting in horrendous numbers of orphans. I don't care for the security system at all, but Coinwarz is just making it worse. GLD is simply unmineable for me.

I think if Coinwarz is reporting inaccurate data the best solution would be for them to correct their data not remove the listing.

The Goldcoin daemon has been down for over 24 hours on Bittrex.

This means no deposits/withdrawals. I have opened a support ticket to report the problem.
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GoldCoin™ (GLD) Thread - The Gold Standard of Digital Currency [OFFICIAL THREAD] on: September 02, 2016, 03:26:03 AM
Wondering what caused the increase in prices on the GLD. Now I not see any significant changes in the wallet. Same old Bitcoin protocol version 1.0 is possible that a small  excitement caused by decrease  the coins in the system to 70 million instead of 120 as it was before. Otherwise, nothing new.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I will forward this info to our quality control department for analysis.

Codebase Update (MAC OS)
Akumaburn has determined that the best route for supporting the Mac OS systems will be to upgrade the Goldcoin codebase. This will take some time as it will be a major upgrade to our current client and require a full testnet for development and bug checking. We currently anticipate this update to be released sometime in the fall of 2016.

As always, the public is invited to attend these meetings which are held each Sunday at 1:00pm on Skype. If you're interested in attending, please send me a private message for instructions.

4444 + 444 + 44 + 44 + (4 x 4) + 4 + 4 +4 = 5004
4444 + 444 + 44 + 44 + 44 - 4 - ( 4 x 4 ) = 5000

My son is very happy. He got to stay up late AND has the solution! Thank you.  Smiley  Cheesy  Smiley

I've put my math team on it, they did 8th grade twice IIRC, so naturally they should have an advantage.

Thank you!

My son was asked to use the number 4 in a math problem 16 times so that the result equals 5000.

So far the closest we've gotten is 5004.

The problem can only contains 4's.
