1681  Economy / Economics / Re: less risk or big profit? on: March 15, 2023, 10:44:42 AM
I think depends on your age. Better is a combination of both always. There is obviously a meter of your life, in early ages with lesser responsibilities you have the bandwith to take more risks without any worries but eventually there will be a time when you won't have that much risk aversion. So take risks at the right time in your career so that even if things go wrong you have a lot of buffer time to regrow yourself.

Aside the age and the ability to take risk, I think the capital you have is also a factor. Real estate demands a lot of capital. So I can equally say more capital means more risk but that does not always translate to more profit. It is advisable to invest in different things instead of just sticking to one. So you don't have to choose between bitcoin and Real estate, you can invest in stock too amongst others but try to have knowledge in whatever you're investing in. I think older people are willing to take all that risk on real estate is because they can see it and they understand it. If crypto was something they could see they would have taken the risk in it too.
1682  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is ageing and old people part of bitcoin? on: March 14, 2023, 10:06:12 PM
I don't think people 80 to 90 years old have the capacity for these kind of things. They're too old for that. A lot of parents that are between 50-70 are into crypto. Parents that are conservative are the ones that have problem with crypto. They are not open minded because they've refused to understand how crypto works, its easier for them to just dismiss it as a scam. They understand foreign exchange and stock exchange and the prefer what they understand.
Exposed and open minded parents know that there are many opportunities on the internet so even if they're not really comfortable with it, they don't stop their children from using it. It is mostly the conservative parents that have a problem with their children using the internet.
1683  Economy / Economics / Re: With the present economic outlook, do you think that this is good advise? on: March 14, 2023, 09:20:52 PM
An advice that tells you to learn a skill is never a bad one. Having a proper skill and being very good at it is a very big plus as a graduate. The skill won't also stop you from going into the business you want to go into. I'm not a fan of small margin profit business but I don't say it out loud often so as not to discourage people. I totally agree that instead of spending time and other resources in that kind of business, its better you learn a skill. If you are in a position where you can do both at the same time then I'll advise you to do both.
Lastly, while learning a skill, chose a skill you like, a skill you enjoy and actually want to venture in. Don't learn a skill because people are making a lot of money from it so you dive right into it. If you must learn a skill like that then you must develop love for that particular skill or else it will be vey difficult.
1684  Economy / Speculation / Re: The SVB failure will help BTC alot. on: March 14, 2023, 12:15:18 PM
Becuase people will realise you can't do a run on BTC as it is provably 100% backed. As more banks fail, if they do, the people in the queues and thier freinds and the media are going to realise you can always transfer your BTC.

Fiat does not look so "stable" vs btc when fiat can effectively go to zero overnight, becuase your bank failed.

SVB is a big well recognize and traditional bank, if that kind of system can fail, how do you think people who do not really have a lot of idea about  crypto will think about BTC? This SVB drama would only make people in crypto realize that keeping their coins in centralized exchanges is the same things as keeping your money in an SVB account where somebody can mismanage it and make very wrong decisions which would make you lose your money. I don't think this saga favour the crypto industry, I think it only encourages people not to trust centralized exchanges.

1685  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 14, 2023, 12:00:20 PM
[
Education on its own won't make you rich per say rather it would give you exposure . It will make you ambitious. They don't teach you how to make money in schools, they don't even teach you have to handle money, how money wirks. Education, especially higher education only broadens your mind to think really big. Part of this is because you've gone to school and you've seen business people doing well and you want to be like them (this is if you are someone who dreams to be an entrepreneur) so you start believing that being big as they are is possible. Higher education helps but it doesn't teach you exactly what to do as an entrepreneur, what it does is equip you to think for yourself and be able to make decisions that will help your business grow.
Then comes experience, the more you keep at the business, the more you learn from your mistakes and successes and keep getting better at what you do.
1686  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash is not trash on: March 14, 2023, 11:38:43 AM
We've talked about it here time and again. Fiat and Crypto have to co-exist. The initial plan of Satoshi when he invented Bitcoin was not to override fiat. The world have not gotten to the level of going totally digital in every part of the earth so that makes it quite impossible for fiat to be trash. And for those that believe crypto will be the world currency anytime soon, I think they're delusional. Try to see Bitcoin as another form of currency, only it's not controled or owned by any government or state. When you see Bitcoin as a currency then it'll be easier for you to see it co-exist with other currencies like the dollar, pounds, yen, franc etc all co-exist.
1687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 13, 2023, 08:53:49 PM
Arsenal are the favorites to win the league because they are the most consistent and I think they have the easiest games left of the season but they play Manchester City and I think that is the game that decides the season. If Manchester City win the game I think they could cause pressure on Arsenal and they slip up and lose a couple of games but if Arsenal win then they extend their lead and with 11 games left I think it would be impossible for Manchester City to catch them because it would require them losing a lot of the games left.

The good news for Arsenal is that by the time Arsenal play City they will have just five matches left to play. If Arsenal can try to maintain their current form and win all their league games then they'll definitely win the league. Manchester City doesn't look like a team that would not drop points again but that should not be Arsenal's problem if they win all their remaining games. Arsenal should not get ahead of themselves, they should just take it one game at a time and play every game with all they've got. Good thing G. Jesus is back in the team, hopefully he picks up the kind of form he was in before his injury. Nobody expected Arsenal to still be topping the table by this point of this season and here they are, not just topping the league but topping with a five point difference.
1688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 13, 2023, 08:32:34 PM
I agree with some parts, especially about Barcelona's clean sheet record. It's strange to see them so strong in La Liga while they're so weak in the Champions League this season, it's a strange reverse.

Regardless however Barcelona conditions is right now, I think Real Madrid's chances of destroying them this season in La Liga are still open. There is an El Clasico match this weekend, so that is an opportunity for Real Madrid to reduce the point gap with Barcelona. It's just that Barcelona is playing at home, this is a big problem that Real Madrid has to think about especially to make Barcelona lose the first time at home for La Liga. On the other hand, Real Madrid could also lose at Camp Nou, so it's definitely difficult to predict.

The way I see it Barca have all the advantage against Madrid. Barca is nine points ahead of Madrid in the league and are already leading 1-0 going into the second leg of the Copa del rey. Even if Madrid wins Barca this weekend which is a very difficult task giving that all Barca players will be available except Dembele, Barcelona would still be six points ahead of them. Same thing goes to the second leg of the Copa del rey. Except some Barca players get injured during the international break (which has a high probability of happening), Barca would be with their complete squad and they would be playing at home. Madrid have a very big task ahead of them but I feel the Copa del rey is the easier of the two. They still have a chance to win two major trophies this season; the champions league and the Copa del rey
1689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 13, 2023, 07:54:06 PM
I think not having the consistency is the reason why they haven't won in the last 10 years as well. They weren't bad teams so far this many times in a row, of course they had some great teams along the way, but what happened is that they lost to teams that they could win against, which caused them to lose the league as well.

Same will happen this year, Bayern will win because they win the games they need to win, and Dortmund lost points on a game that they needed to win and that's why we have such a situation at hand, we could have done a lot better and we are not seeing them potentially winning the league due to these type of games in the end.

I feel this way about Dortmund too. I think they're comfortable being the second best of the league. I don't know what they're doing in that club. They are never consistent in any season. They have good players that could win them the league but somehow they lose the games that matter most. I said it earlier that since they were on the same points with Bayern then Bayern would certainly win the league this season. It doesn't look like they will be ready to compete with Bayern anytime soon. And don't be surprised that Bayern might win the league with like Eight points difference in the end.
1690  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2022/23 on: March 13, 2023, 11:31:41 AM
In the last match of the day, lizbon defeated boavista 3-0 and took the 3 points. It's hard to say that it was a very difficult match for Lisbon, who dominated the game from the beginning to the end. Boavista didn't even have a scoring position. Lisbon had 16 shots throughout the match, 5 of which were on target, and got a comfortable win. Benfica is now the leader and the points difference with their closest rival porto is 8. The points difference is not much but I don't think Benfica will give up the championship here when they are in such form.

Ten games to go and Benfica are not slowing down. I also do not think Benfica will let go of the top spot at this point. They play so well and always played better than all their opponents. The last match the lost was in quarter final of the cup. They lost to Braga on penalties but what was interesting about that match was that Benfica played that match with ten men from around the 30th minute of the match when Alexander Bah got red carded yet they still managed to hold on till the 120th minutes of the match. The were a man  down for most of the match and still somehow drew with a club like Braga even after extra time. That's was really impressive. Eight points clear with ten points to go, lets see what happens but I personally think Benfica have won the league even though they haven't won it yet.
1691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: March 13, 2023, 11:08:47 AM
Two clubs that are difficult to predict that qualify for the last 8. Maybe City have a chance to qualify, but between Porto vs Inter, I'm sure Inter will get a ticket to the top 8. I expected the game to be a draw, but to my knowledge the away goal advantage has been removed. But Inter have bagged 1 goal.

Porto are a very strong side at home and they also know how to score goals. Porto have been in a very good form lately while Inter have been inconsistent. Since Porto are at home, that could make them have a very good day and on their good day it would be near impossible for Inter to contain them. The good news for Inter is that in Porto's last three games they've been conceding goals unlike before that they were better defensively.

As for Man City, they have to be very careful and make use of the chances they create if they want to avoid what happened in the first leg. It is a certainty that they'll create a lot of chances because they always do but if they don't score those chances then they would be useless. They better not underrate Leipzig.
1692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 12, 2023, 10:13:15 PM
Thanks to a lone goal from Raphinha, Barcelona have been able to maintain their nine point lead at the top of the table. It was looking like a game that would end in a first half draw before Raphinha's shot went past Julen Agirrezabala and straight into the net. The VAR was used twice in the match and on both occasions it was in favor of Barcelona. First it was to over tune the offside call by the linesman for Barcelona's goal and secondly to cancel Bilboa's goal for a handball against Bilboa.
Its one of those games where Barcelona were not at their best but they still managed to win. Now they'll go into the el classico next weekend with a lot of momentum since they would like to extend their lead at the top of the table.
1693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: March 12, 2023, 09:01:22 PM
PSG seems to be all about Mbappe and Messi. If these two don't show up, that team is down. Other than that why PSG's defense has conceded so many goals this season. Couldn't even keep a clean sheet. I don't know what Pembele did with that Brest goal. The ball should not be scored at all by the player's hesitation. And the goalkeeper is also very disappointing

This is what I've been saying about PSG since.  A team as rich as they are should be able to get a decent squad and a decent coach. They have a very average midfield and an average defense. A good team is not all about a good first eleven, It involves a good first and second eleven. All that is good in this PSG squad is the attack and an attack is only as good as the midfield and defense. PSG concede so many goals and the midfield is not creative enough and they cant control games. I really don't know how that team is run. They need to be serious about the kind of players they recruit if they want to be a respected team in Europe and they cant do this without a very good and technical coach. Personally, I feel Christophe Galtier is not leaving up to the standard because his team do not play beautifully. They struggle too much even in matches they should be winning easily.
1694  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 12, 2023, 07:48:07 PM
In their match against the Arsenal at Craven Cottage, Fulham failed to score a single goal. That was an excellent performance from Arsenal because the home team made no attempt to hinder them in their pursuit of the premier league championship. Mikel Arteta used the suggested players specifically for this match against Fulham, and Trossard was outstanding. With more threatening goal attempts on the home team, he scores a brace in the game. They are currently ranked first on the table and are on the right track to victory so they can win the cup in the next few games.

Arsenal are still showing how much they want to win the league title. No matter what it takes, they're ready to fight for it one game at a time. I'm happy for them because they deserve this. There are still eleven games to go and that can be a lot. Titles can be won or lost in eleven games.
Trossad looked like a downgrade from Mudryk but it doesn't look like it anymore. He has been influencial in games he has played and today was a game to remember for him. He assisted all three goals for Arsenal today which is very impressive. I hope Arsenal can hold on till the end of the season and win the league.
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 12, 2023, 12:41:56 PM
Rumors like this have occurred several times in Christophe Galtier's squad, even at the start of the season there were rumors that Neymar, Messi and Mbappe did not get along with each other, but in the end they got through it quite well. For the players who are the most talked about in Europe and have good skills should be at a club that is better prepared to play in the Champions League, Neymar and Mbappe must have other options next season with clubs more likely to win the Champions League.

The opportunity for Neymar and Mbappe to leave PSG is very open next season, but it's still just a rumor and even though Real Madrid, Manchester and several other clubs want the services of the two players, but for Lionel Messi it is better to stay because he is no longer young.

What I know it that it's highly unlikely for the trio of Messi, Neymer and Mbappe to all remain at PSG next season. PSG would prefer to sell Neymer and keep both Mbappe and Messi. I don't know if Mbappe would want to jump ship to Real Madrid just yet. Things are not going as planned for him in PSG and the only viable destination for him is Madrid. Despite Madrid being hurt over Mbappe's decision to remain in Paris, they'll still welcome him with open hands if he decides to join them.
PSG have to let go of at least one of Neymer, Messi or Mbappe if they want to strengthen their squad. There midfield looks washed and there's only much you can do with a superb attack and an average midfield. I don't know how the summer is going to look for PSG but I know it's going to be very dramatic as it usually is. A
1696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 12, 2023, 06:02:31 AM
I heard the news in the local media if Barcelona was indicted by a Spanish court. Barclona was charged with bribing referees in the period 2011-2017. They accused the Vice President of the Spanish Referees Committee (CTA) of the period 1994-2018, Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira.
It has not been proven to be true, but the prosecutor's office seems to have given sentences to Negreira and two Barcelona presidents Sandro Rosell (2010-2014), and Josep Maria Bartomeu (2014-2020).

La Liga president have been throwing different kind of attacks on Barcelona. Its as he has a personal vendetta against the club. It makes no sense. See how he's still fighting them for the registration of Gavi into the first team, he even took the case to court after Barcelona found a way to register him last minute. He even came out and said Barcelona is in transfer ban and wont be able to sign any player this season, which is not true. Tebas just has it out for Barcelona and it sll began when Barcelona got a new management and started performing well both on and off the field. Which means he liked how the former Barce president was running the club to the ground.
The Negreira case just shows the targetted attacks on Barcelona. Barcelona is a client to Negreira's company, "Dasnil 95"which provides them with video analysis and refereeing reports regarding matches. Almost every gets these reports. Madrid takes them from former referees. But because Negraira was vice president at the time and had power, they feel he has influence to help Barca.
No single evidence have been brought forward but the English media do not even care to report that part, they just love hearing negatives about Barcelona. Former La Liga refs have even costately said that Negreira had no influence on them.

Fortunately, Haaland's penalty managed to get them back to securing points, but with the condition of the players and with their performance, this is very unfortunate with their full dominance, but they could only get 1 point in this match.
They now have to restart by making their finishing better because otherwise it will be very dangerous for their survival especially they are the only ones who can hamper Arsenal at the moment.

I think Manchester City were trying to play it safe today in order not to get too exhausted for the Leipzig match. As usual Man City dominated the game so well it was even a surprise they couldn't score a goal from open play. They created a lot of chances but couldn't finish it up. Crystal Palace were just too awful. They played so horribly. They had no single shot on target. Ederson didn't even have to make any save. That's really bad for a team playing at home.
This shows that Manchester City have a lot of work to do on their attack during the summer transfer window. In games like this, with a good attack they would have been able to bury the game in the first half and take out their key players so they can be well rested for the UCL.
1698  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 11, 2023, 08:32:09 PM
Napoli won again this evening versus Atalanta.

Good results for them even if they don't even care anymore about this serie a due their absurd advantage versus the second team in the league.

The highlight of the game for me was Kvaratshelia. He was a menace down the left wing. It was impossible to cope with him. The goal he scored capped off a brilliant performance. He was always running at defenders, not giving the Atalanta defenders any chance to join in the attack. Politano was another impressive player for Napoli. He was a handful for for Atalanta on the right wing too. He had two good chances to score but he was unlucky.
With Inter losing to Spezia earlier today, this Napoli win takes them to 18 points gap at the top. Nobody is matching that. Napoli have run away with the league and it is definitely theirs to win this season.
1699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: March 11, 2023, 08:17:11 PM
Schalke team managed to stop dortmund winning streak by forcing them into a draw today, dortmund team was better in general but the will of schalke players not to lose and avoid relegation is what made them comeback twice after being behind in the score, it was a good result for schalke but a bad one for dortmund because bayern team managed to get two points ahead of them after winning today against augsburg.

I have trusted Dortmund to maintain their winning streak. They always fumble and disappoint when it matters the most. How are they dropping points against Schalke when they're on the same point with Bayern Munich. They just are not on the level of competing with Bayern. It's as if they're not even ready to fight Bayern Munich for the league title. As far as the Bundesliga is concerned, Dortmund is the only team that can challenge for the league with Bayern, but even them can't compete. Bayern now tops the league with 2 points and I don't think anything will bring them down, if at all, they will keep increasing the gap at the top and Dortmund will keep dropping points.
1700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 11, 2023, 09:36:02 AM
The chance for barcelona to get two trophies are still there. Real madrid is still having a chance to add another trophy from copa del rey. Real madrid has not lost yet against barcelona caused by there will be second leg that will happen very soon.

I don't think Madrid can do a comeback against Barcelona in the second leg of the Copa del rey. I'm not saying its not possible but I don't think it will happen. The match would be played on the 5th of April which is after the international break and by then all Barcelona players will be available, except they get injured during the international break. Barcelona has a very good defense right now so Madrid would find it very difficult to break that defense and score at least two goals without Vinicuis Jr. Vinicuis won't be playing that second leg because he's on a suspension.

As for the La Liga, I believe the decider of the league would be the second leg of el classico coming up next weekend. If Madrid can manage to get all three point from that fixture then they stand a chance to overtake Barcelona in the La Liga. But if Barcelona wins, Madrid can kiss their title challenge for the season goodbye because they won't be able to catch up with Barcelona if that happens.
