It was a huge surprise to see Manchester City losing to Brentford home by 2-1 today. I guess that nobody was expecting such result. Manchester City were the highly favoured side obviously and I expected a more comfortable win from them after having struggles against Fulham. They were actually completely dominant against Brentford today.
However there was something really wrong when it comes to their shots on target. Only 6 out of 29 goal attempts in total were on target. This was a really weak stats for them and they scored only one goal out of this. Brentford gave them a football lesson by having very effective attacks despite coming much rarer than their opponent. Brentford had a very productive day at the same time. 8 out of 10 shots were on target and it was a really dramatic win for them as well. Toney scored the winning goal in literally the last moments. He was definitely the player of the match by scoring 2 goals.

I think we shouldn't be very negative about Juventus considering the Europa League. Because despite having many missing important players, they have started to perform really impressively in the Serie A. They are maintaining a winning streak of five matches there now. This is very important for the players to pull themselves together. It is important for Allegri also to keep his seat at the team. The result in the Champions League was horrible and there is only one way for him to redeem himself: doing a good job in the remaining big tournaments.
There is still a long time for their Europa League matches. Nantes aren't a strong team to beat for Juventus. I expect no surprises. Until then the injured players would hopefully be well too. They had better hope not to have more injured players after the World Cup.

Leicester have started to improve their form. This is good news to me because they normally don't deserve to relegate from the league. Their squad quality is quite decent to even finish close to top 5. There are of course some weaknesses in especially their defense line. But this can be solved easily by making the right transfers at the first opportunity. That opportunity is in January of course. They are trying to collect as many points as possible before giving a lasting break due to the World Cup. They will play their last match against West Ham before the World Cup. This is a really difficult match for them honestly. Because they are sharing the points now. But Leicester have an advantage such as having a better form. Leicester couldn't beat them in an away match since December 2019 though. But it feels like their recent form can be enough for them to do this. They are already a much more productive team (They scored two times the goals West Ham did). 3.65 is a really nice odd for Leicester win to give it a try.

It looks like I was too positive about fnatic to defeat Outsiders. They didn't even show a big presence on both maps. But fnatic are still looking much better than the first times they rebuilded the team. I expect to see him among top 10 teams in the future. MOUZ - Outsiders is the first matchup in the semi finals now.
This Major will be quite different than the previous ones as it seems. We are going to watch at least one different team in the finale in case NaVi make it to there. NaVi can do this by the way as their performance is decent now. Besides I'm happy to see that the final series is going to be BO3 instead of BO5. Because it was too long in the past. The players had to play for long hours and this was affecting their concentration negatively too. It wasn't good for us to watch like that as well. It was getting boring in a series finishing by 3-2.

https://www.marca.com/en/football/psg/2022/11/10/636cf93bca474189028b456d.htmlThe news claims that PSG are planning to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid. They even want to do this on loan in January. However I don't think it will be easy for PSG to do so this much early unless the player starts to insist on leaving at the earliest opportunity. But it is the truth that Felix has been on the radar of some big clubs for some time. I don't expect PSG to be the only club considering the interested clubs. Atletico Madrid aren't having a good season. If things go this way most of the time then Felix might lean towards leaving I suppose. Transfermarkt shows the recent interested teams list like this:

Dortmund's performance shouldn't be much surprising to tell the truth. Because they don't change their usual game plan and this prevents them from being more ambitious for the league title. This season would be another one which they don't make any trouble for Bayern Munich on the road going to the championship without doubt.
They have lost nearly half of their matches so far though. They surely need some improvement otherwise it would wound them deeply in the long run. It must be still important for them not to drop from being the second biggest team of the league. Whenever they start to focus on being the champions in the league more than investing into young players to make profit by selling them, then we can start seeing some ambition from Dortmund. As the Bundesliga is boring about a title race I wouldn't say no to seeing another contender.

Juventus got what they wanted from their Verona match by a 1-0 victory. However their general performance didn't impress me at all. They still lack in defense and offense both but this is mostly related to their having so many missing players. There are some important players among them such as Vlahovic for example. This was normally a match that Juventus could have won by a bigger goal difference.
Anyway they are on a five-win streak as of now. Things are going very good for Juventus in the league and the board must be happy with Allegri's management here at least. Allegri doesn't have much choice than being successful in the league though. After that poor performance in the Champions League he can redeem himself by doing good in the Serie A. The Europa League matches are also going to start later on and I'm pretty sure that he will be expected to do a good job there as well.

Liverpool are not only interested in Bellingham from Dortmund as it seems. There are rumours like they are after Moukoko at the same time. After Haaland has left the team Moukoko has started to have many more chances in the lineup. So far his performance in the Bundesliga has been impressive - 6 goals, 4 assists in 13 matches. He is only 17 years old but his performance is already quite impressive.
There is really bad news for Dortmund as well because his contract expires on June 30, 2023. This means that he can be bought in January for free by any team interested. I wonder if Dortmund are making an effort to extend his contract. We all know that Dortmund bring young skilled players and sell them after some time for a good amount of money. But this won't be such case if they can't convince him to extend. It'd be a big regret for Dortmund if they just let him go for free.

Newcastle - Chelsea is one of the interesting matches of the week. Newcastle are still shown as the favourite side to be victorious here. There is no problem with that at all because Chelsea are in a really bad condition these days. They are still struggling to win matches and their current streak is 4 weeks now. Potter is so desperate as he can't find a way to make this team stand up and fight. They aren't like this only against big teams in the league. It is the same against smaller ones as well.
In this situation, I just can't deny the fact that Newcastle are quite likely to defeat them in this match. They have defeated not only average but also big teams in the league so far. While Chelsea are in a bad shape this is a nice chance for Newcastle to get another win and make their winning streak five matches.

There are news related to Bellingham like everywhere. He is at the centre of transfer news these days. This time it is speculated that Manchester City are the closest team to sign him now. They are said to have started initial talks with him and secured him to sign for themselves on this source: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11406911/Man-City-held-initial-talks-Jude-Bellingham.htmlActually Manchester City can really be the closest team. Because they have a very important card in their hand. That card is Erling Haaland. As you all know, they Haaland and Bellingham were teammates at Dortmund. They are still very close to each other. We saw it after a Dortmund - Manchester City match in the Champions League recently as well. Manchester City would like to use Haaland to convince him to come here. To tell the truth, I think Haaland would be very convincing about this.

With Liquid's shocking elimination as well, the eliminated big teams list is like this now:
- FaZe - Vitality - Liquid
Teams like BIG, ENCE and NIP are also teams which are near top 10 and it wasn't nice to see them saying goodbye to the tournament this early as well. Now we have these matchups for the quarter finals:
MOUZ - Cloud9 Outsiders - fnatic Spirit - Heroic FURIA - NaVi
I think that we will watch Cloud9 - fnatic and Heroic - NaVi matchups in the semi finals. Cloud9 seemed pretty solid in the group stage. MOUZ had a big difficulty in reaching this stage. MOUZ are still a dangerous team though but I think they will be out by a 2-1 score. I expect a close series between Outsiders and fnatic. But I see that fnatic have improved their effort very much against top tier teams. I think they can do this. Heroic should be able to do what Liquid couldn't. I don't think Spirit can make another surprise. NaVi have mostly dominated their matches against FURIA. Maybe they seemed inconsistent in the group stage unlike FURIA. But I still don't expect any mistake by them.

The thing that separates Barcelona from Real Madrid at the moment is being more successful against smaller teams in the La Liga. Otherwise Real Madrid are a much better team than them when it comes to big matches. The El Clasico was a great example for that. And we saw how horrible Barcelona were in the Champions League against Bayern Munich and Inter as well.
However this difference is still an advantage for Barcelona for now. It is like that in the La Liga I mean. Because if Barcelona keep being more consistent in the remaining matches then they can always manage to stay one step ahead of Real Madrid. Even the other El Clasico match is going to be in Camp Nou which is another good news for them. Xavi's main target must be to win the La Liga title this season undoubtedly. It is quite achievable for them considering their current level of effort.

Ronaldo's stepping on Camp Nou after a long time would be really meaningful for him indeed. But we don't even know if we will still see him as a part of Manchester United after January. He still doesn't have a good relationship with Erik ten Hag now as it seems. He finally found a chance in the starting eleven in a Premier League match last. But I don't want to keep my hopes up about its continuation. ten Hag is a really unpredictable manager. Maybe he will continue to make him wait in the subs mostly until the transfer window.
This would definitely cause him to leave at the first opportunity. Because he is already not comfortable with Manchester United's not being part of the Champions League. Having not much time in matches would just speed up the process of leaving for him.

Liverpool's being purchased by investors from Dubai could be really interesting. Actually they already have a very solid squad which is enough to be the champions in the English Premier League and Champions League both. They are just having an average season now that's all.
But after being purchased by very rich people just as it happened for teams like Manchester City, PSG etc., I wonder how their transfer policy will be next summer. Maybe the investors will wish to see some specific stars at Liverpool as well. They would have a huge transfer budget just as Newcastle have now that's for sure. I think Klopp would still continue to be a part of this team then.

It looks like it is the end of the road for Club Brugge and Frankfurt on paper. Because both of them have really tough matchups against Benfica and Napoli respectively.
Benfica had a very impressive group stage. I think that it was a huge achievement for them to finish the group ahead of PSG by not even losing to them for once. This is showing how much willing they are to be successful in the Champions League now. They lost Nunez to Liverpool while he was like a goal machine. But this still didn't affect them badly at all. They should be eliminating Club Brugge nicely as well.
We know how insane Napoli are this season. They are just incredible not only here but also in the Serie A. Not every team can keep two important tournaments balanced. But Napoli are good at it now. They finished a group with Liverpool and Ajax as the leader. Now they have got the most comfortable matchup compared to the other teams. Frankfurt don't have much experience here. Unless Napoli lose their focus Frankfurt isn't a big obstacle.

Osasuna are indeed not a powerless team now. They are too close to top 4 at the moment. Actually they started this strong in the previous season as well but they couldn't be very consistent later. I wonder if they will have the same scenario again. Anyway I don't fully believe in Barcelona to win this match even though bookmakers are favouring them too highly.
It is a fact that Barcelona aren't like Real Madrid in this kind of matches these days. While Real Madrid are continuing to lose points against weaker teams Barcelona are showing a consistent performance. Barcelona's last rendezvous here ended up with a 2-2 draw actually. Osasuna would be happy if they get a draw in this matchup as well. Maybe they are among the best home teams now but they lost to Getafe and Valencia here as well. This is a proof that Barcelona can do the same to them as long as Xavi chooses the right game plan. Maybe I might try my luck with both teams to score @1.81.

PSG must be feeling really comfortable in the lead by a point gap like this right now. Actually Lens are not too far from them as it is only 5 points. However the rest of the teams are at a distance of 10 points at least. Besides PSG have a big time period until their Champions League matches. I assume they would focus on opening the gap with Lens also as much as possible. They would like to finish the season in the Ligue 1 as early as possible to have their full focus on the Champions League.
Their opponent in last 16 round is Bayern Munich in the end. They need to fight with all they've got to be able to eliminate one of the strongest contenders of the title. Messi's condition is still doubtful as you know he has an achilles tendon injury. Not having a clear return date must be really worrying for PSG despite still having three months to go for the matches. Messi's absence would drop their chance of moving on too much for sure. But hopefully he will be back and we will enjoy a solid clash between these teams.
