It is a natural fit - anonymity and pornography. Haven't you heard of girls gone bitcoin?

Call me a retard but I would need like about 10 BTC to feel safe enough to spend BTC without feeling horrible in 3 years.
10 BTC is a lot of money. It is tough to say how much is enough.

you don't have to use same "wallet.dat" for everything.
you can just create seperate wallets like me.
I've around 5 wallets that each one of them are used for different things. (Also I'm backing them up regularly to safe my private keys).
Separate addresses will do too. Wallets may be unnecessary.

I think the nation-state will simply end Bitcoin if cryptocurrency becomes too much of a threat to the central banks. They can easily regulate it out of existence, or simply ban it outright and impose absurd penalties for holding BTC.
Tough for democracies to do this without justification.

Cheapest way to hide your bitcoin : Send your bitcoin to big gambling site, after few days withdraw it to your new address You just need 0.0002BTC to mixing your bitcoin
Better than compared with mixing service / exchange site
Yup but gambling sites keeps log of withdrawals and IP. They are willing to give out information if you do something illegal which is possible. Most mixers don't keep any logs or delete after a few days. The OP primarily wants to hide total donations received from public. So a gambling site should work too.

Litecoin is on an upward trend, so as Bitcoin http://bit.ly/1x5QyYQ Do you think both these coin's price trend in anyway related? Altcoins are related to the Bitcoin price, they are highly correlated. But people still invest in altcoins, thinking some altcoin is going to outperform Bitcoin.

you WILL NOT become rich from bitcoin. sorry to say. because you wont invest enough.
What does this have to do with the thread. Did you read the op? This isn't him asking if he'll become rich but why others look down on those who are only in it for the money. We need the numbers. It doesn't matter if others look down upon those who are in it for the money.

The thing I don't understand about decentralized exchanges is how you get fiat into them. If you use a token like bitUSD then you have to ultimately go through a centralized exchange to get it. Is it possible to get real money into a decentralized exchange?
I am not sure I understand the question. Won't you be able to use bitcoins in these exchanges?

Good that it has come about because of ChangeTip's success and not because they found it unprofitable.
|
|

State controlled money isn't going away anytime in the future. Not as long as taxes have to be paid in fiat.

bitcoin is unbelievably under priced.
Hope the market discovers its true value over the next few years.

I wouldn't be surprised if central banks were deliberately allowing these scam artists to operate in order to discredit Bitcoin, because when it came to people like Bernie Madoff they didn't rest until he was put in jail and certainly didn't call for a ban on the U.S dollar. It's interesting because on the one hand they cry for regulations that strange otherwise pretty innocent people and on the other when something bad happens they just shrug and talk about how they can't do anything about it.
Puts law abiding people in a pretty shitty situation if you ask me because when something goes horribly wrong they don't have anyone to turn to and of course, they'll be labelled criminals and terrorists if they decide to try and take matters into their own hands.
Central Banks across the world seem to be adopting the same posture, which is very, very strange.

Bitcoin should be added to currency exchange bureaus so when people land in any major country/city they can exchange their local fiat to Bitcoin...I guess we need a few more local retailers to get that done no?
Why do they need to land in any country and then go to an exchange bureau? If they are anyway using bitcoins, they can just carry it across the world.

Can a study predict the future? I think not. Bitcoin transactions are at an all time high.
The study talks about the dollar value of transactions.

I find it interesting that originally all of the large businesses and companies blacklisted Bitcoin, and now they are coming around to supporting it.
First they ignore you, then they fight you, then you win.

Will Its Involvement On ISIS Lead Bitcoin To Its Eventual Ban? http://bit.ly/1C0HIkH Well, if matters go worse, maybe banning it is just harshest way to go. We live in a free country and banning bitcoin is not so 'democratic' Maybe there will be stronger drives for bitcoin regulation. Eventual ban? Not as I see it. As Ive said, Bitcoin is terrorist money. As a wise man said, money doesn't stink.

The more companies accepted/using/promoting Btc can only be a good thing imo.
These companies are promoting BTC in their own interest.

As the article said, cryptocurrency transactions will drop but Bitcoin might be holding on as a payment technology alternative. A 50% Drop In Cryptocurrency Transactions This Year Is imminentHowever, a 50% drop is as bad as it gets. In the midst of left and right financing from companies who are now considering cryptocurrency as a potential option. Do you think this study is true? Aside from adoption, is there any possible way to help turn the tides for cryptocurrency? Did anyone here even read the article before commenting here? It is behind the biggest paywall I've ever seen. Total: £1750.00 The article is accessible. Are you talking about the original research report the article is based on?

Aah..... I always wondered why the addresses in BitX started with 3. Now that makes sense.
|
|
|
This makes sense. Just look at m-pesa in Africa. BTC is a good alternative.
I agree. Legacy technology can be leap frogged and these populations can adopt Bitcoin. You don't need deep banking penetration. A mobile phone with internet connection will do.
