Trust spam isn't allowed. If I see anyone posting dozens of fake trust ratings (from one account or many alt accounts), I will delete all of their ratings. Now if this is not trust spam I don't know what is. Have you tried sending theymos a PM?

he was not willing to hire an escrow of Canadian descent for an Indian event. Here we call that racism, but luckily on Bitcointalk freedom of speech prevails over hurt feelings. wooing DarkStar_ to be the escrow so that we could get into default trust Lol That's not how any of this works. If you have the time, maybe you can translate LoyceV's Beginners guide to correct use of the Trust system for the Indian local board? It's been translated in 8 languages already. As for the escrow: if you're creating a community effort like this, it's much, much easier if you just pick the escrow by yourself. If someone doesn't like it, they don't join. It's simple as that and prevents a lot of drama. hacker1001101001 has posted the similar price as like akram143 ($9500) and since I noticed the post only at November 11 (after a day the topic was closed), I made a post in Telegram group dedicated for the Indian subforum asking to edit their price since it was similar to akram's price. It's not perfect, but I get where you're coming from. I think a better solution would have been to have them share the price if $9500 would be the winning pick. You're giving this troll too much credit by opening this topic.

I've now got confidence that I can safely use that wallet on a different PC, and have located and taken a copy of the walllet.dat file. I believe I can just download a new Bitcoin Core and use the same wallet.
So I've built a new PC, will get all the installs done, and hopefully its plain sailing after that. That should work. But just to make sure: if you're in doubt, don't do it until you're absolutely sure you're doing the right thing. DannyHamilton makes a good point: don't rush things. You've waited many years, a few more days isn't going to matter as long as you keep your coins secure. Also somebody mentioned forks. Is this a thing that effects me? Only if you want to. You own "old" Bitcoins, which means these coins also exist on many Fork chains. Some of them are worth something (with Bitcoin Cash being the most valuable), but none of them are worth risking your Bitcoins. I'll quote myself on this: Precautions My favourite precaution is being very careful. Assume any wallet can steal your money, and try all you can to prevent that from happening. Be very careful not to send Forkcoins to the wrong chain! I don't trust many wallets, so I use a VM for anything I install on my PC. An alternative would be using another computer. Some of the new Forkcoins have a very wide spread in trading price (see the Markets-tab on CMC), and not all of the exchanges accept deposits (or withdrawals) for each Forkcoin. Be very careful which exchange you trust. How to claim forks 1. Setup a new secure Bitcoin wallet (create backups!), and move all your Bitcoins from your old wallet to your new wallet. To avoid confusion later, label your old wallet (I suggest "compromised for forks") and make sure nobody is going to send any Bitcoin to any of the addresses anymore. Don't delete your old wallet. 2. Wait until your Bitcoins are confirmed on their new addresses. 3. Export the private keys to the addresses that hold Forkcoins. 4. Start with the most valuable fork, and work your way downwards from there. That means Bitcoin Cash comes first, followed by Bitcoin Gold. 5. Install a Forkcoin wallet. Make sure this wallet can't compromise the rest of your system. 6. Import one private key at a time (this reduces the risk if you installed a rogue wallet), and send it to the exchange of your choice. 7. Repeat steps 4-6 for all other forks.TL;DR 1. Move all BTC to a secure new wallet. 2. Sweep all forks into their own wallet. 3. Find an exchange to deposit each fork. There was mention of Electrum. And seems to be a lot of different wallets out there. I'm assuming I can ignore this as noise? If you're okay with Bitcoin Core (just know you'll be downloading 250 GB of data), there's no reason to switch to anything else.

Games and Rounds is for Bitcoin giveaways only. I had given up on reporting those, because my reports often remained "unhandled". I've just reported this one as a test. What about a Ledger Nano S giveaway?

I keep checking my chance to get the 'Art Badges'. That will be kind of leverage since I am offering design service in this forum, I think you should look at total Merit instead of just theymos' Merit if you want a better idea of your chances to earn a badge. - Between 1 and 20 (depending on number of submissions) people will receive art contest recognition badges: , based mainly on community consensus of who had the best art. In judging consensus, I will be substantially but not entirely influenced by the total amount of merit your art received. I made 10yearBitcointalk.tk with all contributions sorted by "most Merit first". If it's going to based on the number of Merit received, I might even qualify for an art badge That can't be right, let me quote myself: I'm not much of an artist
I didn't see your entry before, because my browser animates .gif only once. So when I scrolled by, I only saw a black line.

Seriously tho, as I read it, that seems like a relatively "sensible" update to the rules... removes the whole "feedback wars" scenario from play. That is to say, people aren't likely to get nuked from the campaign simply because they get on the wrong side of a DT1/2 member who gives them negative trust for something stupid and/or inconsequential... That means someone like bill gator ( ) wouldn't be removed under the current rules.

If someone can tell me how to post pics here I have no problem doing so As a Newbie, you can't post pictures. But you can upload it to for instance imgur.com, and post the link here. Someone else can quote it to embed the picture.

Around 2 days ago, h4ns (the creator of the Flag) withdrew it: 2019-11-12 Tue 03.18hsource: loyce.club741 Active. (Withdrawn!) h4ns flagged game-protect (type 3, see why). Supported by Foxpup, alexrossi, suchmoon, babo, yahoo62278, LFC_Bitcoin, RHavar, mocacinno, SyGambler, DaveF, bones261, The Pharmacist, yogg, examplens, mindrust, Avirunes, nutildah, actmyname, Lutpin, Slow death, marlboroza, bL4nkcode, TMAN, Pamoldar, subSTRATA, stompix, LeGaulois, TheUltraElite, Kalemder, AdolfinWolf, Hhampuz, squatz1, HCP, crwth, DiamondCardz, bob123, asu, TwitchySeal, xtraelv, Royse777, o_e_l_e_o, iasenko, mosprognoz, witcher_sense, pandukelana2712, mu_enrico, ChiBitCTy, CryptopreneurBrainboss, DireWolfM14, morvillz7z, TECSHARE, BayAreaCoins, hopenotlate, NeuroticFish, iluvbitcoins, eckmar, robelneo, BigBoy89, passwordnow, Astargath, 1982dre, Initscri, Rodeo02, sheenshane, Alveus, cabalism13, blurryeyed, CASlO, yazher, Captain Corporate, JSRAW, lighpulsar07, rhomelmabini, Harkorede, PassThePopcorn, Mirae, Zwei, efialtis, kruglikov, DreamerBT, WinRateCasino, ScamViruS, Kevinn22, jimmyhate, addarmstrong, LeonGhibli, asphyxiate, Game-Protects. Opposed by nobody. The Flag system requires Flag-creators to withdraw their support once they've been made whole. Did that happen?

As an example, Cryptotalk participants, do you think they will get more or equal merits the same as Chipmixer participants just because they wore Cryptotalk Signature? Whereas the whole forum keeps tagging one thing "Cryptotalk participants are SPAMMERS"... How many threads do you think are there about Cryptotalk? Don't you think there are quality posters? but they are just buried somewhere, they are barely get recognized because of the actual spammers, the only reason is they wore Cryptotalk signature. Your signature on a forum says a lot about you, so if someone wears a "badge of honour", people are more likely to read their posts than someone who wears a "badge of spammers". I've merited some posts with Cryptotalk signature lately, but I've probably reported more of them, or deleted them from my self-moderated threads.

That's the mod's problem. Why are they removing topics that are flagged ? Any solution ? See this one for example: I think it was deleted because the topic is "insubstantial". The solution is not to rely on other people's topics when you create a Flag. Don't link to for instance the scammer's own topic. Those types of flags should be removed, I hope theymos is taking a look at this otherwise anybody can create a flag then delete the thread associated with it. So far, only 5 Flags have been removed. I don't think theymos wants to spend too much time on it, it's up to the community to Oppose invalid Flags. Also if anybody is banned should their flags be automatically deleted too? What are your views? No. They can still be valid, just like feedback doesn't get wiped when someone is banned. Is it possible to delete a thread created by yourself ? I was thinking only mods have that option. Users can only move their thread to Archival. Mods can move it to "the trashcan". But a user can just create a worthless thread, use it as Reference, and then wait for a Mod to clean up his thread. Or a user could simply be Nuked, that removes all topics opened by said user. Surely if a flag exists for a thread that no longer exists it means the alleged evidence the flag was created on is not available therefore the flag should not exist either.
I wonder what the community consensus is on this. I don't think this community will ever reach consensus on anything My opinion: if an Active Flag doesn't have a valid Reference topic anymore, someone should create one, create a new Flag, and the current Flag supporters should stop supporting the old Flag and start supporting the new Flag. I think that's the proper way to use the Flag system, but it's a lot of work.

You will need to export the private key in a wallet like Blockchain.info This is terrible advice! Don't export your funds to a web wallet! If you want anything, get Electrum, but be sure you download it from the real website and not one of many fake sites that give you malware.

Fair enough. Looks like we may need some different Legendary ranks so that we could tell them apart My basic assumption is much simpler: I compare Merit to Activity when I want to have a first impression of someone's posting quality. if Merit > Activity then good, else bad Of course there's an acception for "old" members with thousands of Activity but "only" 2000 Merit, they just need more time to catch up. Let's complain and create a new topic "Activity is so unfair. Remove it plz." Let's make a new one: Post count + Merit + Activity. Actually, I think it's harder to earn Merit when users are Legendary and their Merit is above 1,000. Some people save their sMerit for the lower ranks, but on the other hands many Legendary users are more recognized. Recognition leads to posts being read, which in turn increases the chance or being Merited.
I've said this a long time ago: Merit allows new users to stand out above the many spammers. Good new users are now easily highlighted by their Merit count.

There's no way to create a fake txid, it should lead to a valid transaction, otherwise it won't appear anywhere. It's rare, but you're wrong here! I've seen fake transactions on Blockchain.info (now Blockchain.com) years ago, they were used by scammers to pretend they sent funds. Those fake txids didn't show up on any other block explorer. I never found out how they did it, but judging by this topic, it's still possible. General advice: NEVER accept an unconfirmed transaction as payment (unless you trust the source completely), and don't rely on blockchain.com (they have many bugs). I want "Merit" for you without knowing where to click or how. You can only Merit a user after you've earned at least 2 Merit yourself. We are participating in an BTC investment program Chances are you got scammed
