When Internet becomes faster we will switch to a smaller gap between blocks (10 seconds, for example)."

When being the key word here - it isn't fast enough at the moment unless you think the internet is just your own country.

Evolution...3 years doesn't seem so long.

Once we figure out how to get 10 second block times

10 second block times would be great.

Since I'm not going to achieve psychic mindlock today with CfB and BCNext to get the information dump we all need, I'm gonna change the subject.  (Squirrel!!! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSUXXzN26zg )

There is a new coin on coinmarketcap.com just below NXT in market cap and that is Auroracoin.  If you don't know about Auroracoin, you should take a minute and read some about it.  It is a litecoin clone that is about to become an official government currency for Iceland.  Without going into gory details, the banking system in Iceland has had huge problems over the past few years and the government is desperate to engineer a reboot.  Thus Auroracoin.  It has a 50% pre-mine that is being held in trust and will be given out to the people of Iceland in 25 days.  They are encouraging activity to get tools in the hands of Icelanders to allow their easy use of this new currency.

http://www.auroracoin.org/

http://theconversation.com/free-cash-for-iceland-but-it-pays-to-keep-cool-about-auroracoin-23061

The 64,000 NXT question is - could NXT somehow get on this bandwagon and become part of the Auroracoin management system via AE?  If we can get EVERYBODY IN ICELAND (population 300,000) owning NXT as a part of helping to manage their new Auroracoins...

Some thoughts about AssetExchange (AE).

1) Unlike real stock exchanges (and FOREX) and virtual cryptocurrency/stock exchanges the launching NXT AE is very very open. Everyone can know what account owns what assets, what orders it has, what gain  or loss it get from trading.
We will have at any time full order book for any asset, full history of assets/money (NXT) flow.
So someone may make an great analytic site with stats of most profitable assets, top trading winner accounts (and may be loosers) for day/month/year. And much more! All because of all information on AE is open!

2) Why not to make a very simple bitcoin gateway?
It can be set like this:
Create NXT account A and issue asset "1BTC" in 21'000'000 quantity. They are not for sale.
Create BTC address B.
Write some code.
Announce, that anyone can send 1 (2, 3, ...) any whole number of real Bitcoins to that address and set an NXT account number in message of the transaction.
The code then periodically will check incoming transactions on address B and transfer corresponding number of "1BTC" assets to provided NXT account.
Then it can be traded on AE.
If someone wants to cashout his "1BTC" he then can transfer some quantity of his "1BTC" assets to account A and make a referenced Transaction with NXT message which contains a real BTC withdrawal address.
The code then sends real BTC (may be without some withdrawal fee to support gateway like 1% or fixed 0.01BTC) to given address.

All this can work very transparently - everyone can check amount of BTC on address B and "1BTC" on address A.

I am not a good programmer, but i think even i can program this simply on Google docs spreadsheet with API of blockchain.info and some public NXT nodes.

Both these ideas are Excellent.

If we look at the nature of Mastercoin (Centralized Leadership) & Nxt (Decentralized leadership) then we can see that what many of us are asking for is more centralization.

You will have it in the VARIOUS COMMITTEES....

1) So activate your candidacy if you are on the list.

2) Organize an improvement project YOURSELF and request funding from the various committees.

3) Forget the past.

If you try to control the direction of this DECENTRALIZED organization/entity called NXT you will not succeed.

    So this is priority:

    • get a curve/sign implementation audit and a crypto audit. guys, where are we with that?
    • try to summarize all we know about TF and discuss how to make it better
    • finish the whitepaper

Point 1 DEFINITELY needs to be finished ASAP.

Point 3 is linked to point 2 ...so Point 3 might take a few months to get finalized.
1709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: February 27, 2014, 08:48:28 AM

I suspect someone (it only takes one) didn't read my instructions where I clearly specify that you must not make duplicant accounts to try to cheat the system as reddit detects it and turns your upvotes into downvotes.

There is absolutely no other explanation. There is no way that the majority of this community would ever downvote such a post at all.

From now on reddit swarms is off the table, people are incapable of following instructions.

Or it could be certain anti-Nxt persons don't want this to spread....my simple 2 nxt.

    Is TF fully implemented?

It's not. And won't be implemented by April, so u should do something if u don't want to live with half-implemented TF.

Ok, this is new to me. AFAIK it was planned to get implemented by April. Thatīs what we were waiting for. Now, 1 month left till April you tell us, that it wonīt?

That is the missing transparency I was talking about one post earlier...

It was mentioned long ago by CFB that TF won't be ready by April.

I asked him specifically about this a month or so ago.

    Opportunity

Can someone develop an Nxt equivalent of Proof of Existence so that NMAC (and other Virtual Corporations) can register itself like this company did on the Bitcoin blockchain? This well written prospectus can also be registered and published using the same method, making it official and "legal”. It gives a greater sense of legitimacy and serves as a show case of how the Nxt ecosystem can provide similar or better safeguards for investors normally enforced through government or centralized means.

    Great suggestion.

Really. As the creator of the currency, I can say that I would only sell any coins that I mined or purchased and that the coins that have been created by issuing, but not yet mined are off limits. I can enforce this with peer nodes verifying the balance 24/7. Any violation of this would destroy the coin. It could also be possible to use AT savings account to release the coins in a predictable and controlled fashion. That would reduce the risk to just the current batch that is being released could be misappropriated.

I think we should lend more energy and thought to this line of reasoning as it really does solve the problem of securing the network while also creating a new market at the same time.

And even if the coin fails we can always create another and another and another similar coin until we get it right.

I believe that one element of BCNext's plan is to set the minimum transaction fee to zero.  And now I've posted my theory here, for posterity, so that I can either be mocked for my stupidity, in the future, or praised for my intuition.

We need something to counteract spam-transactions. But we indeed could set fees to 0 and use hashcash approach.

Hm, this is interesting. Still allows for users to pay via mobile (just slower, or they can use a service provider that lends their CPU power for small fees).
I say we keep a very low fee maybe .001, I mean at 1000 TPS would spam be a problem?

This is also my thinking....the only need for minimum Tx fees to protect the Network from spam.

If we can solve the spam problem then the above will be quite easy.
