1701  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as a newbie? on: January 13, 2023, 03:17:31 PM
Recently I have been trying to come up with ways of making some money on the side and thinking of giving trading a go.

I have zero experience and have just been looking on Coinbase at the best and worst performers of the day.

I am thinking of buying coins that are 15% or more down and then selling once they pump 10% and move onto the next one that is 15% down and then again sell at 10% profit and just keep repeating.

Anyone done something similar or will it just lead me to losing my money?

What you need right now is a video tutorial and some guides, check youtube for some brief videos and this forum for some tutorial guides, make use of the forum search bar to make enquiries about trading guides, you will have some self-explanatory threads that will help you out but at the same time you should NOTE: That the videos and material you watch and read are just for learning purpose, that doesn't really mean you may encounter similar trades, the market changes with the trend, you should use them as starter kits and improve your trading.

There is a tip I want to share with you, real traders learn during the bear market and that is what you should master now, when the bull run comes, you wouldn't stress much about trading, most often than not, you will always have a long position open with lots of profits because after all-time high, the candles that come are always wild and massive due to FOMO and that's when you make lots of profits.
1702  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Those who survived previous winter, please share some courage! on: January 13, 2023, 01:39:47 PM
Those who've seen previous bear markets, survived several winters, please share some hope and courage.
This is not the end, right? Smiley

The entire 2022 was a war between Layer1 and Layer2 projects, and their actions all affected bitcoin. However, the war does not mean that the market, particularly Bitcoin and some Altcoins, would not recover, as you can see that most of the volume has decreased by 9/10, so be cautious when buying altcoins. I would personally advise you to buy bitcoin and hold it because, by the time the market starts another rally, both the bull and the bear become merged with large long positions, so instead of waiting for the bottom, start buying some sats and hold them just in case, and please avoid keeping your bitcoin on centralized exchanges, that is the worst thing an investor would do right now.
1703  Economy / Economics / Re: The poor people with their reasoning on: January 13, 2023, 01:24:21 PM
No matter how hard you try, poor people can be difficult to persuade to accept and invest in bitcoin, according to my crypto knowledge and people's enlightenment. They vehemently criticize whatever you show them or introduce them to. They are the ones who constantly inquire about how you manage your funds in order to live during this economic downturn.

You are making this looks like poor people made themselves poor because they chosed to, life is not like that, to some extent we can say that there are some educated people who are poor and have been wanting to get into bitcoin but they are financially constrained because they don't have much to invest, you don't expect a poor person to go and steal and invest because you think bitcoin is the best thing anyone should put their money on. I know people who are super rich and till today, they have not for once put a penny on bitcoin because they think bitcoin doesn't have the utility to convince them enough to put their money on it, life doesn't work that way my friend.
1704  Economy / Economics / Re: Americans are once again quitting their jobs at a growing rate on: January 12, 2023, 01:59:51 PM
I wonder why people are quitting their jobs? I know the most reason would be due to low salary, but how can they survive if they're not working? I think any people will accept any jobs even though how low the salary is, rather than become unemployed and doesn't earn anything. So IMO, they've already find a job that paid very well in private, which is like a programmer where they got paid with Bitcoin and they have a chance to publish it, so the government think they're not working, but the truth they're working in their home.

Yes I never understood this either. I think what is happening they are quitting bad jobs like at McDonald’s and basically staying unemployed until they find something better.

Most likely their friends had a bad job, at min wage and they looked for another job which was more fun and higher pay and they told all their friends about it and they also quit. And this is most likely all these min wage jobs that nobody wants to work because they are over difficult.

What happened to keeping the job, looking for another one with hope, and managing the current one? Maybe there are external factors other than this one because it doesn't make any sense at all even in an ideal situation, and private jobs aren't too standard enough to meet minimum wages to handle bills they have at the end of the month either. The assumption that an employee left their job because they saw their friends quit is irrational and makes no sense.

I think that the increase in the number of employees who are losing their jobs is due to many companies preparing for a recession. We have been seeing headlines that the US will most likely enter a recession this year, even though the government has been denying it. Crypto companies are not exempt from these mass layoffs, which may be why we are seeing an increase in the number of employees losing their jobs on monthly basis.
1705  Economy / Economics / Re: Every passing year seems progressively worse on: January 12, 2023, 11:15:00 AM
The world has always revolved that way, I can at least say it has been on the matrix as you have explained since I came to this life, things get worse every day hence why the existence of Fiat has been the worst acceptable contribution to the world as chosen, the purchasing power gets worse every blessed day, the rise in goods and service as the number of populations increases, the governments inject new money into the system, democracy also contributes also we constantly change power where we go from survival to worse.

The fact is this: As long as the system remains the same, it will continue to be on this matrix, there is no one that will improve the way of our living except we that lives in the system, however, as long as it favours some people, they wouldn't allow a room for a change.
1706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We have been told: Invest only Extra money in bitcoin on: January 12, 2023, 10:19:53 AM
As a middle-class person, I don't have extra money but I set aside a few percent of my salary for an investment that I'm prepared if I lose it. You are the hundredth person I have met with the same case and I am just saying as long as you don't sell your bitcoins then you have nothing to lose.

Extra money is just something of the mind, even the so called rich people don't have extra money some where, all money are very important is just that there are some levels of tranquility we all can spend some changes and see it as nothing, a middle class person can overlook $0.5 but will be hard for poor person and same goes for rich person and middle class person.

One of the great properties of Bitcoin remain unrealized loss, nothing gives peace of mind when you know that as long as you don't sell, you have nothing to lose but seems those who sell their bitcoin at loss or fair losses doesn't know bitcoin more than they actually think. Bitcoin remain one of the outstanding investment anyone would want to have in life because you have nothing to lose.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Signs of a better year for btc investors on: January 12, 2023, 10:06:29 AM
We have regained some confidence from investors and bitcoin maxis, and while I cannot say with certainty that we have bottomed out, technically, the market has been oversold and the fear has diminished. It is possible that bitcoin price will range between $25k and $35k before we enter another bull run in 2024, but at the very least, I anticipate some positive vibes to bitcoin in coming months.

It's also possible that traditional market will rally if things turnout good, bitcoin will likely follow that pattern because they are correlated with each other in terms of use in economic perspective and the influence of institutional investors.
1708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 12, 2023, 09:54:11 AM
I have 2 motorbikes at home, but what I always use is only 1 motorbike, and 1 motorbike is rarely used, and indeed the motorbike is also old, and if it is sold it won't be too expensive, and I decided to sell the motorbike, because in my opinion the price of the motorbike will definitely fall over time,
(affected by inflation). and the money from the sale of the motorbike I will use to buy bitcoin. because in my opinion the price of bitcoin in the future will definitely rise. and also currently the market is bear, so this is a good opportunity to buy bitcoins. and I want to ask everyone, the decision I made, namely selling the motorbike and the money to buy bitcoin, is it wrong or not?

I'm ready to be corrected because I have no experience in bitcoin and crypto.

Well, that depends on where you live because if you use your local currency, it's possible that you won't be able to buy very much bitcoin when you convert it to US dollars, with the exception of if your motorcycle is the special kind called a power bike which I can consider that to give you a fair Satoshi that you can hold when you sell it.

Motorcycle unlike some special cars that you can auction out in the future, they are liabilities, you will continue to spend on maintenance fee and check it up even if you don't use them and doesn't still mean you will be able to sell them at the purchased price. It's better you convert it back to assets that you can see appreciate tomorrow.
1709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 11, 2023, 06:02:56 PM
PSG squad as always been good in every season, but I think with the arrival of Messi and Neymar ,this year is a special season for them though I don't see them as a winner of the group stage yet, because Bayern Munich is the most formidable Champion league rival after Real Madrid. in the last five years champion league analysis, the winner of the title is determined by the eliminator of bayern Munich or real Madrid or the winners of this Eliminators. For that I see the match between PSG and Bayern Munich to be unpredictable.

PSG may not have given France the Champions League trophy they wanted, and they have also consistently given up goals to Bayern Munich in their matches, but a lot has changed in the system since Messi joined. Players like Neymar and Mbappe are good players who were there before him, but Messi has done it before and still has the support to win it. I also believe that Messi is not the only player who is anticipating winning that championship, other players are as well especially now that he is back with the world cup to show his France fans and followers.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman won $43million but was offered a steak dinner instead of her winnings on: January 11, 2023, 05:25:35 PM
Some Casinos are just plain fraudulent. So this woman visited a casino, play slot and won $43million. She took a selfie with the amount displayed on the machine. The casino saw it and told her to return the next day so they could talk about the winnings. Next day she returned. Story changed. She was told the machine had malfunctioned and therefore it was what was responsible for the winnings. They went ahead to offer her a complimentary steak dinner. I got so livid reading this story.

Isn't this just the stupidest reason not to give her her winnings?
Couldn't they have known that their so-called machine was faulty before letting gamblers use it?
How could they do this to her?

There is something that is not adding up with the whole story because this joke is too expensive to tell a winner of $43 million. If their terms and conditions say once machine is faulty and the evidence is clear, no way to prove that she actually won the game but that is just stupid to accept or tell a player because if I'm the one, hell will lose that day because that money is more than a fortune here, that money will change not only me but my generation when you convert it to my local currency.

I think this serves as a factor to consider before gambling, I would rather choose an online casino where I can have evidence of my games than a physical machine that the casino could manipulate anytime, I make sure I don't erase my bet, especially the ones I won, I make sure I take video record them if I haven't withdrawn my winnings should in case they plan to try anything funny.
1711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 11, 2023, 04:58:58 PM
Don't waste your money if you want to place a bet on this match, just go for Man City, Man U would disappoint you, as they've always done in the past when you trust them too much. It's true that Man U is getting better with their recent matches, but Man City knows how important this match is to them, so they will give their best feats. And with the analysis, I made since the beginning of this season and beyond, Man City will highly likely win this match. Trust me, Man U would succumb to an inferiority complex while meeting Man City.

Let me tell you something, one of the most hardest sports to predict is football, it's dynamic and complicated sometimes, no other comes close. I can prove it with my number of loss tickets, you predicted this and then boom another thing will happen.

If you look at what Manchester United and Manchester City have been playing recently, its quite unfortunate that United hasn't been able to fight them back but don't be surprised that Manchester United may end up as a draw because it is their home and that's a big advantage and also, they will want to stop that straight 2 matches humiliation. So, instead of carrying a straight win on a regular time, I will go for the away double chance in case Manchester City win or draw, nothing will affect your stake amount.
1712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 10, 2023, 11:06:59 PM
There will continue to be more pressure on Barcelona. The e points difference between Barcelona and Real Madrid is like no point difference because only one match that Barcelona fails to win will close the gap.
Assuming that the point is upto 5 and above I would have believed that Barcelona can win the title. But for now it is still under serious contention and Barce may give up even before El clasico

Barcelona and Real Madrid both have their fair chances to go super Turbo on the table and failed to convert that opportunity, when Barcelona was supposed to hit hard on Espanyol, they drawn and Madrid becomes more closer after they won Valladolid and when they had the chance to go ontop of the table, they didn't and now Barcelona has taken back the lost opportunity they once had, I doubt if they will slow down soon.

The Second leg is about to start, that's another hell journey we don't even know what will happen, things can still  an go side ways with the little time we have as some teams can still maximizes their efforts to make up for their mistakes, I mean 16 out 38 so far is still a very long journey to accomplish.
1713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 10, 2023, 10:10:38 PM
They have all it takes to finish above Manchester United but not above Arsenal and Manchester City, the heights the both clubs have climbed cannot be broken easily this season. Manchester United seem shaken because they need to start scoring ans converting chances they get.
That is by the side anyways, tonight we'll watch Leicester City sending Newcastle parking today I also a double loss for Newcastle, tonight's and in the next premier league game off course.

Let's be fair and not subjective with opinions Grin, Newcastle has only conceded two times to Leicester city in their last 5 matches and one of them was a home and away match which is a conventional results we expected sometimes as teams used to defend their home at all cost, other than that, Newcastle always has way they do defeated Leicester city and that was what they still play today and also used their home as advantage. Anyone expecting them to lose to any minor teams even after giving Arsenal tough time, I wouldn't even double chance my stake on today's match because they will win.

1714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 10, 2023, 05:30:37 PM
Manchester united will play against big teams like Manchester City, arsenal and Barcelona. Manchester United performance is not poor, I think they are ready to play against any tesm with their form of performance.
Manchester city was not playing in europa league. You shall not go out of topic. Barcelona may be defeated by united. MU's performance is the best in EPL now. Ten haag has been using his magic to change the team to be even better and better. it seems like that he will become the new alex ferguson in MU. Mu has been preparing the best performance to face the match against barcelona.
Barcelona can be considered as a big wall that was always preventing MU since a long time ago. it's the time for MU to pass it

Saying Manchester United would defeat Barcelona is just as if you are writing down your will and you want it to be as such but football is far from that point, forget that Manchester United is picking up and doing well in their recent matches, there is no single reason that will stop Xavi from winning the Europa either and if not for their inability to make it out of the group stage of Champions League, they wouldn't be here in the first place because Manchester didn't make it there but it is what it is, their next month meeting will determine who winner but both of them doesn't have a factor right now that will hinder their chances.
1715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 10, 2023, 05:07:43 PM
Arsenal are still a strong side despite failing to win Newcastle and ending in a goalless draw. Manchester City facing Manchester United in the weekend as Arsenal face Spurs this fixtures will do so much in deciding if Arsenal will extend the gap or Manchester City will close up the gap. Indeed the race for the title this season is getting so interesting as everyone is anticipating to see if Arsenal can really beat Manchester City in the race to win the trophy and stop Guardiola's intended record.
Newcastle I'm not sure whether to say they are good or not, but they do have financial support from the Arab (oil money) that owns Newcastle, and one thing about Newcastle is that even when they are losing, they can frustrate their opponent enough to prevent them from winning. Arsenal is still demonstrating how focused they are, and after man city defeated Chelsea twice, let's see how they will line up in their next game.

A team can spend millions to attract players, but that doesn't equate to winning of trophies, at least I haven't seen a right skew that can justify wealth of a club to winning of trophy. Also for the past 97 years, Newcastle hasn't won an EPL title to demonstrate that they are still in the form despite the oil money from your reference, but hopefully this season will be a turning point for them to refocus their energy towards that number one spot in the table given that their last 5 matches have been a good result in the Premier League.

Newcastle is bidding for some players from Dortmund and it appear that they are in a transfer war with Chelsea as it seems that they are trying to hijack some good guys they have interested in, the oil money would be useful if they actually wanted real players, but I'm afraid that good players may decline the offer out of fear for the end of their career as Newcastle may find it difficult to make it to the top 4 again judging from their previous seasonal performaces.
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 10, 2023, 10:36:03 AM
I also expect PSG and Bayern Munich to be the most interesting matches to look forward to for the round of 16. Apart from that, Real Madrid and Liverpool are no less exciting to look forward to. It's worth mentioning as a final, but unfortunately they had to be drawn too soon for the round of 16.

Why would you say Real Madrid and Liverpool would be less exciting with all the low-rank matches they have been playing since they returned from the world cup and Real Madrid? I think Madrid is fair to say they are better than Liverpool lately but they confirm that one of their defender Alaba and Mid fielder has sustained an injury with an unknown date they will be returning and these two teams were the most captivating teams that made last season so interesting all the way from the group stage and they are now to face each other in the knockout stage, it wouldn't be an easy task for both teams.

Quote
While I think PSG and Real Madrid will qualify for the quarter-finals, of course, Bayern Munich and Liverpool are two teams that have ambition and seriousness in this competition every season. I want to see PSG and Madrid qualify in the quarter-finals, it's very possible in my opinion.

If all wishes were horses, then everyone's favourite team would win all the interesting Leagues we all value, however, it doesn't work that way, I think PSG is in good form without any barrier right now but who knows, anything can still happen at the end of the day.
1717  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 10, 2023, 10:01:08 AM
I think that it doesn't matter a lot whether barcelona was lucky or not, as long as barcelona was winning the match and that's more than enough. that being said that if barcelona can do better than real madrid. I meant you can compare atletico's level is still far above villareal as the previous opponent for real madrid but atletico was losing against barcelona. that proves that if barcelona is still leading the way in the la liga. Real madrid can hope to surpass barcelona at the end of season. That would be a very important match. Madrid still has el classico that will be coming next months.
Barcelona must try to create more gap to make sure its positions was in the safe place

I would say to anyone that they are been biased and hating on Barcelona to say that they were 'lucky' in their last encounter against Atletico Madrid. I can say confidently that the Ref was been professional seeing how he handed the fight between Torres and Stefan Savic, that was the moment I think Barcelona started defending heavily as the time was coming to an end despite the pressure from Atletico Madrid, the whole match looks like Elclasico in disguise, anyone who watches just the highlight wouldn't have the balls to say that Barcelona was lucky with that awesome performance.

The last time Barcelona hosted Real Madrid in Camp Nou, Barcelona conceded 3 goals at home, the next time they would meet would quake Estadio as I believe Barcelona would want to revenge to get their points back and Real Madrid wouldn't let it slide either. It will be a big game I anticipate especially how both are following each other at the table.
1718  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 08, 2023, 08:53:20 PM

I don’t know what @sovie meant by “Real Madrid, is ahead of Barcelona right now“.

Because obviously, Barcelona is ahead of Real Madrid in terms of goal difference, even though they are even in terms of points.

If he meant that Real Madrid is ahead in terms of the quality of the squad, I think that would have been much more accurate. Because Real Madrid does have a very balanced team right now. Barcelona will play Atletico Madrid in the next match. And if Barcelona can win that match, or even draw, Barcelona will get ahead compared to Real Madrid in terms of points as well.

regards

duke

What is the use of having a balanced team if they can't get at least one point from Villareal? They have the squad, but the squad doesn't contribute points to anything when Real Madrid needs them the most. The whole Madrid team was on the field, yet they couldn't achieve anything significant with a minor ball possession difference from Villareal, they need to put their value to the test in order to move the team closer to winning the league.

Lewandoski seemed to be enjoying his last punishment as a result of a red card, and Barcelona has a solid lead over Atletico Madrid, Xavi would be glad that he substituted Fati with Lewandoski because it doesn't look like they miss him at all, thanks to Dembele and Gavi's hard work and assists.
1719  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 08, 2023, 08:04:26 PM
Chelsea are currently loosing by three goals against Manchester City after loosing them them by a goal before now. It looks like Pep continued with the strategy that he applied to get against goal in the second half of their last encounter in this game, and it has worked well. Chelsea are having many challenges, no good attacker, injured players and a coach that looks like he has not had a good time settling in. If Chelsea lose against Fulham to continue this loosing run, calls for his sack will intensify by supporters of the club.

After the last match between Chelsea and Manchester City, one would assume that the humiliation they brought to Stamford Bridge was over. I had anticipated that they would at least do the same to Manchester City at Etihad, but I can't help but notice how Mahrez has continued to belittle them with back-to-back goals. I mean, 4 goals is way too many for what they played in the FA Cup, and Halaand wasn't even present for the match. Also, take a look at their last 5 matches it is poor, Potter would be faced with several queries if Chelsea lost to Fulham in their upcoming match.

Kante is back from Injury after missing  important matches, I don't know why he wasn't presence today, the same thing goes for Aubamayang and yet they weren't even on the substitution and its not like Fulham a strong team they will want to move their most preferably squad to, something is definitely wrong with Chelsea.
1720  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will Cassino Continue With Wagering Requirements, If Abuse is Eliminated? on: January 08, 2023, 09:14:05 AM
One thing we should keep in mind, no matter the good intention of casinos to give back to players and bring in more players, there would be a collective set of people that would abuse that privilege, they would want to milk that advantage, and that is why I sometimes don't blame the casino, after all, is their money they are suing to attract players, there rule there way.

1: What is your opinion on casinos that offers wagering requirements on both deposit and bonuses?
2: what do you think, if all necessary security checks are up to 100% and Abuse is totally eliminated from casinos, do you think gambling sites will make a no wagering requirement on their bonuses?
3: what conditional do you think could perfectly replace the wagering requirement in a casino that will serve players' purposes and also protect the revenue of the casino

The essence of the bonus is to increase the funds of players with a little amount or increase player's funds in general, at least it will increase their potential cashout, I don't think there are benefits of the bonus if a player doesn't use it to wager or stake any games, the bonus is non-withdrawable until a player use it to play one to two games depending on the casino.
