Three points meant a lot in the football as long as barcelona can keep winning the upcoming match. Remember that barcelona is also leading the goals compared with real madrid. That being said that when both have the same points and barcelona would be in the top position. Barcelona’s gameplay has definitely improved from last season. And you’re right as they’ve now got a good starting position than they did last year. I think the addition of Lewandoski bolstered the squad after messi had left. I’m loving their winning ways now but I think there is even a greater hurdle ahead with matches like Real Madrid to be played.

How do you know that Xavi will be sacked if Barcelona don't win any titles this season? Because I'm sure no source says that and in fact, Xavi still has a contract to coach Barcelona until 2024. So, I'm not so sure about Xavi's dismissal, because Xavi also only has a fairly short contract as Barcelona coach.
Also about Lewandowski and Benzema this season if they are compared, I think it is not quite right because Benzema himself is not fully fit this season because of the injury he has experienced. So Lewandowski doesn't have a strong competitor this season in terms of top scorers.

I would not treat these two games as a guaranteed 6 points. In fact, Real Madrid and Barcelona for two this season lost points in only one big game (between themselves), in games against Atlético both teams scored 3 points. Barcelona have been impressive this season after a disappointing run the previous season, although this season have not been all that perfect but much better than last season. I must commend Xavi's efforts to keep the team on top of the league table even though this gap from Real Madrid is so small but they have done so well so far, they are looking determined this time all thanks to the signings made in the summer which has turned their season for the better.
