Is there anyone here that actually believes BCC not to be a Ponzi? Its definitely a temping investment.

it's a ponzy but there is money to make there as long as it dont fall before you make actual money.

Why exactly is it a ponzi? Can you quickly explain in a comprehensible way how you derive that conclusion?

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/bcc/#!rich

very few people are making big money out of alot of people. One day those few people will get away with alot of money and all of those who have money locked for 299 days will lose it. Tomorow, in 2 months, in 6 months, in 2 year, who know but it will happen !

Take a look at the Top 500 Wallets list and see if you see what I see - A LOT OF BCC MOVING WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ANY INVESTARD TO ACCESS THEIR ACCOUNTS.

Some people are also against any MLM business. It's simply a way to acquire customers at a quicker rate. It's only a Ponzi if it requires new investment from others to pay older users (I even looked into onecoin and all the bad press but they are also just selling a product and paying commission and don't need new investors to survive - they also have very strong KYC policies for members before they can log in etc unlike decentralised coins - until I looked into it I thought it had shut down but has been going on for years with no convictions despite claims they are a front for criminals etc and the owner being very public and even stating she wants it to become a public company- I actually know little about it but was surprised when I looked a bit that they don't need new money from investors to survive at all so can't be a Ponzi really but let's not talk about onecoin - oops hadn't read this story yet: https://themerkle.com/luxembourg-regulators-warn-the-public-about-the-onecoin-ponzi-scheme/   just reading it now ....but funny how all the stories talk about Ponzi lol ok read it now but just seems like one of those over the top stories but apparently it has new owners...haha look at this....https://youtu.be/hgde7sxAcvo?t=6 he also says if it is on coinmarketcap and has a big market cap then it isn't a scam basically lol ).

Bitconnect, apart from all their reserves, also probably can afford to keep collateral for all the loans in bitcoin since the customers do sell the bitcoin in the exchange first (in most cases to get the BCC for the loans) but as bitconnect are already holding the BCC for free, they might as well also hold the same amount in BTC as it really doesn't cost anything more and it is likely to go up in value so they can also profit from that too. They are already holding the customer's BCC temporarily (even if it goes down in value, they simply have to pay a bit more from their reserves when exchanging the dollars and remember they would have built up enough profits, anyway).

What are you even saying? Listen to yourself. OneCoin is the definition of a ponzi scheme and it almost sounds like you're saying that they could be a legit company? Then change your mind half way through your post? You are really starting to lose all credibility.

Why do you keep saying that Bitconnect has reserves? BCC is not a reserve asset, it's worthless without the Bitconnect platform. If you created your own currency, owned 90% of the market and then marked-to-market your coins and claimed solvency, you'd be another cryptoscammer yourself. You need liquidity something to have value, BCC does not have enough liquidity! You don't understand macroeconomics in the slightest if this is what you are saying. The only assets that Bitconnect has enough liquidity to be a reserve asset are dollars, assuming they have a bot (and they don't), and BTC. Do you know how many dollars and BTC they have? Probably not since they do not share this information publicly.

We may not know how many dollars BitConnect has on reserve in their undisclosed bank account, but we have a strong idea as to how many bitcoins they possess thanks to ... wait for it ... the blockchain:

BitConnect's business model:

- Create a brand new token that has no value.
- Create a buzz centered around the newly created worthless token.
- Sell shares of the token to marks for bitcoins and keep the bitcoins offline, not invested anywhere.
- Convince the marks to loan their purchased token shares back to BitConnect.
- Promise to give the marks a guaranteed 30% per month interest on their loans payable via their newly created token.
- Regularly payout on loans to bestow trust thanks to some magically bot that Nobel Laureates would die for.
- Jack off all over yourself when reading the words of your most loyal marks explain away reality.
- Continue the process till time to close up shop, namely when running out of marks, causing the bot hamster spinning the wheel to starve to death.
- Unknown entity of BitConnect rides into the sunset on its happy stead, Clover, with its saddle bags filled with bitcoins.
- Former Investards of BitConnect seek a new venture to invest their money.
- The former entity behind BitConnect hears their cries and builds such a venture, complete with a new robust hamster.
- The saga continues.

"Jesus, kick me in my balls!"

I don't go into chain analysis that much, so I don't know how dependable it is. Can we be sure this is all the BTC they have? Would they really only have one address? If so, they are drastically fractional reserve. Without a bot, that makes them extremely insolvent. This is obviously expected. I wonder how long they'll last?

The best I can figure is that BitConnect is currently sitting on ~U$48,000,000 in bitcoins, with the ONLY coinage entering and leaving their platform is BCC - bitcoin never leaving.

"BCC is at U$135. I'm goin' all in! Thanks to all the retards in the world,
this amazing token is nowhere near its peak."

Investard: Team BitConnect, what happens when the planet runs out of people to invest in this scheme?
Team BitConnect: We already thought of that. We'll merely let everybody open a second account, thus there'll be twice as many investors as before buying BCC so to continue its sustainable climb.
Investard: That makes perfect sense. I'm now going to the BCT thread and try explaining that to all them BitConnect naysaying trolls.
Team BitConnect: Good luck in your quest. Meanwhile, here's a coupon code for 10% off for the new Flat-earth map.
Investard: What's a map? Is that an APP for men only? Will there be FAPPs?
Team BitConnect: We like you! If you loan us another U$1,000, you'll earn a mystery bonus.
Investard: I love a good mystery like why is grass green and why do I still wet the bed? Speakin' of grass, I think it's been over 24 hours since I last used my medical card at the dispensary. Truckin!

Gleb - You are like the star in this thread.  Every time I see your post, I see an effort. Keep it up. You make this thread on fire.

The best income earner for most people destroying itself day by day with all the complications and technical issues.

Like a fire unfolding before your eyes.

Just funny how Gleb the #1 instigator of it's demise has seem to feel sorry for them and not attacking them but putting up their bulletins instead out of advising people who invested in them or what happened.

A glint of remorse from the crown prince of terror of any scammers who dares mess with his community perhaps?

Isn't Kenny Rogers singing about LSD and it's dangers? Is this an analogy to someone else here behaving like he is on LSD or just an innocent old song? Cheesy

You gotta know when to hold up know when to fold up
Know when to walk away know when to run
You never count your money when you're tradin' your tokens
There'll be time enough for countin' when the tradin's done

FYI, when I lived in Nashville, I use to host Writers Nights, where twice (two different venues) I had the writer of that song, Don Schlitz, as my special guest. After Don played the songs that he recently wrote [at the time] (the format of a Writers Night), he played The Gambler - no band; just himself and his guitar.

Wow! That was ~30 years ago according to one archive I found showcasing myself hosting one venue: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/112383211/. I'll save a funny story centered around Bobby Taylor - a Christian dude - and Rodney "Wayne" King for some other time. Spoiler: It has to do with a "trans" named Lisa who really wasn't a trans, but pretending to be a trans so to win tran contests, and her friend, April, a for-real trans who I once danced with to a song on the jukebox in a Huddle House at two in the morning while Lisa danced with Rodney while his wife, Paula, watched on.

Damn, I miss Nashville!  Cry Cry Cry

Isn't Kenny Rogers singing about LSD and it's dangers? Is this an analogy to someone else here behaving like he is on LSD or just an innocent old song? Cheesy
If Gleb is on LSD that would explain a lot of his more creative posts.  Grin

Microdosing on LSD every morning is supposedly a trendy thing to do in silicon valley which might be a factor to the unfounded euphoria right now.  Cheesy

Back in 1978, I bought my first AND LAST blotter (is that what you call it?) of LSD for five bucks. I was too scared to take it, so I tossed it. I've been fucked up ever since.  Shocked Shocked Shocked Oh, BTW, it was on Mission Beach Park north of San Diego where I bought it while Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street played on my new solid-state transistor radio (remember those?).

So I have been actively trying to find a solution to this robbery of my money! I really need help spreading the word that this company is stealing millions of dollars from people! I tried to contact every social media link they have on their website including twitter, facebook, and every one of the "team" LinkedIn accounts. I also sent several emails to the contact page. I soon realized inspecting the website's code that the link for the contact form doesn't actually have an email account linked to it. So it doesn't actually do anything. I then noticed that at the bottom right of the page there is a support email at support@bitcoingrowthfund.com. This email had an automated response once I sent the email saying that they will respond to assist within 24 hours. It also mentioned that I was ticket # 554. At the time there were only 2000 investors so this means that over 25% of them have eventually sent an email to support! Desperately looking for someone to contact I went to the whois.cann.org website to find the owner info of register contact. I actually found a number in Singapore. I then called that number only to find it was actually a fake number. This website is 1000% fraudulent and needs to immediately be shutdown! This image shows the fake contact info of the website. This image shows the status of my 730 MCAP purchase as "timedOut". This image shows the transaction successfully transferring to BitcoinGrowthFund in the blockchain. This image shows the total time that my support ticket has been processing for two days now!!

Hi all, new guy here:-)

So this is my first post on the forum.. Drey you've written a whole explanation here, with screenshots to prove it, of why the BFG is a sure scam because no one has replied to your emails.

On their facebook page you are telling everyone to relax since your MCAP tokens were given to you after all. So why not come back here and report the good news??

Now it sure does look fishy, this whole BGF business, but it is a startup from Amit Bhardwaj, so maybe it is legit?
this scam is already a bust maybe try another new one  Wink . there is no doubt that there numbers is 100% fake what legit you are talking about!

Can you share some proof of the bust? would be really helpfull to all.

Hi all,
I'm a user for bitcoingrowthfund, And I heard about that platform and so I invested 6.05BTC there and bought 2800 MCAP tokens on bitcoingrowthfund. But now as I sold them and trying to withdraw my BTC, It isn't just happening, My withdrawal request is pending since a month, their support doesn't support much even after begging like for 1oo time. Please if anybody can help, help me. I'm stuck with those scammers and i need my money back urgently please.

I don't get it! I FUCKIN DON'T GET !!! We talked till we were blue in the face warning folks about this piece of shit and STILL they gave this asshole money. Then ... here's the kicker ... once they're scammed, them resort to coming to those who warned them for help in getting their money back. Madness. FUCKIN MADNESS !!!

Interesting idea. But the whitepaper is lacking on technological details how the P2P Exchange will be realised.
Also, why is such a project asking for a huge amount of money during the Pre-ICO?

I am also missing further information regarding the team on experiences in this sector etc.
If you want to build up an exchange like this then you have to get in contact with the government (KYC rules, money laundering etc.). This leads to a tremendous effort and you need the right contacts for this.

1714  Other / New forum software / Re: When will the new forum soft. get released? on: August 30, 2017, 05:32:11 PM
Just registered here and quite suprised to see the most important forum for one of the most high-tech topics in today's society to be running on such an old software. So it's good to see that there is work done on the new version. Not gonna lie, I do hope the new release comes sooner rather than later, this version feels super retro to me.
I've been using this forum since 2013 and although I find this forum software quite powerful,  there's something I would kill for: better mobile experience.

Nowadays most of us access the internet on the go,  reading cryptocoin  related news,  trading with TabTrader, tweeting etc. The only pain I experience on a daily basis is reading and posting in this forum using a smartphone screen. If you manage to fix that there's nothing I would else need for the rest of my life.

The day is coming where something very, very similar to the below will be put forth:

Quote
From the desk of Ken Fitzsimmons, operator of Bitconnect.ei.ei.o

                          For immediate release.

There are a lot of unanswered questions floating around on the Bitcoin
forum and other places about the recent Mtgox password leak, and theft
from the MyBitcoin system.

I will attempt to answer as many of the questions and concerns as best
as I can in order to silence the rumor-mill once and for all.

As many of you already know, Mtgox was hacked and its password file was
leaked. As soon as we heard about the leak we were closely monitoring
the system for abnormal activity, and we didn't see any.

At first glance, we didn't see any hard evidence that a password leak
had even occurred. There was just a lot of speculation to an SQL
injection vulnerability in Mtgox's site. A few clients of ours had
informed us of the forum threads, and we watched them carefully.

The following morning a client of ours sent us the download link to the
leaked Mtgox password file. We prompty downloaded the file, put up a
warning on the main page, and disabled the login.

We attempted to line up usernames from the leak, and we found a lot of
matching ones. We started locking down all of those accounts using a
script that we had to have written at a moment's notice. It was during
this time that we noticed a flurry of spends happening.
Yes, even with
the site disabled.

The attacker had active sessions open to the site. We quickly flushed
them and the spends stopped abruptly.
We disabled the SCI, all payment
forwarding, and all receipt URL traffic on all of the usernames in the
Mtgox leak.

We proceeded to change the password on every account where the username
matched our system's database. PGP-signed emails went out to all of the
accounts that we changed the password on. If an account didn't have an
email address or had already been compromised we put up a bulletin.
(Email addresses were mandatory when we opened our service initially,
but people complained that it wasn't truly anonymous so we made them
optional. Unfortunately this makes contacting a security-compromised
customer impossible.
)

An investigation was conducted at that time, and we determined that the
attacker had opened up a session to each active user/password pair ahead
of time, solved the captcha, and used some sort of bot to maintain a
connection so our system wouldn't timeout on the session. It was likely
his intent to gain access to more accounts than he did, but as soon as
he noticed that we had changed the main page of the site he sprung into
action by sending a flurry of spends.

(Before you ask: no, we don't limit logins per IP address. We can't. We
have a lot of users that come in from Tor and I2P that all appear to
share the same source IP address.)

We've concluded that around 1% of the users on the leaked Mtgox password
file had their Bitcoins stolen on MyBitcoin. It is unfortunate, and a
horrible experience for the Bitcoin community in general.

The IP address that the attacker used was a Tor exit node and the spends
were to an address that is outside of our system.

Now to address the rumors:

No, our database wasn't compromised.
We had a 3rd party company audit
our site for SQL injection attacks and we passed. (We did, however, have
one XSS hole in the address book page last month that would allow an
attacker to insert fake entries into a customer's address book. It was
promptly fixed and offending address book entries were purged. Not a
single customer had spent to the fake address book entries.) Every line
of code was audited last month. Literally line by line audited by
professionals, and it was deemed safe.

No, this site isn't being ran by some amateur that just learned how to
program computers. It was created by seasoned programmers that
understand security.

Yes, we use password encryption. We are currently using SHA-256, but
since the recent Mtgox hack we will be upgrading that to something
stronger. It's surprising how many sites still use MD5, even though it
was broken years ago. It is my personal opinion that MD5 be deprecated
from modern operating systems.

We also use whole-disk level encryption on every single one of our
servers. When you fail a disk in a NOC and a level 1 technician replaces
it does he wipe the disk before the RMA/tossing it in the garbage? Not
usually! We know these mistakes happen, so we take precautions. Any and
all servers with an IP KVM on them are ran in secure console mode. The
root passwords are required even for single user mode. All disk keys are
held off-site and were never generated anywhere near the internet. All
server passwords are unique per server and per user, of course. Only two
technicians have access to the secure servers. This access is over a VPN
and we only use secured workstations running Linux and BSD to access
them.

We use BSD servers with MAC, immutable flags, jails, PAX, SSP,
randomized mmap, secure level, a WAF, a DDoS mitigation and alert system
- -- the works. Like I said earlier. We are not amateurs. In fact,
combined we have over 30 years of experience in the payment
processing (credit card arena) industry.

A large amount of the Bitcoin holding is in cold (offline) storage. We
only have a percentage of the holding available hot. This is done for
obvious reasons.

Going forward we are implementing a 2-factor login system,
user-configurable spend limits, better session token tumbling, and a
bunch of new SCI features.

Wishing the Bitcoin community all the best and a swift recovery, and
sincerely yours,

Ken Fitzsimmons

is this thread not very popular Bitconnectcoin topic?

WOW! So now BCC is planning on publishing their user's information if they do not return coins. Is this not troubling they are going to post this private user data? With all the mistakes they are making who knows if it will actually be the correct users or not...
