1701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sergey Nazarov has created a monster & it is dragging all of crypto down with it on: August 21, 2020, 06:25:22 PM
Chainlink is an absolute plague to the industry, absolute vaporware.

I don't see why it should have a market capitalization anywhere near $1 billion, let alone tens of billions.

I think it's on an incredible bubble pump, and the quick that bubble pops, the better for the rest of the crypto industry.

I think we've seen the last run for LINK, back to the mid-cap it goes.
1702  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mind Blown Gambling Facts on: August 21, 2020, 05:38:13 PM
Some interesting facts there, surprising to see that gambling has been taxed for thousands of years now.

Nowadays, pretty much every reasonable country has abolished taxes on gambling though, because more people lose than win, hence they would end up paying out more in tax relief than they could claim in revenue.

Also, for somebody to take everything they own and bet it on roulette is a god damn stupid move. I understand he won, but that could have absolutely destroyed him if he lost.

Remember guys, never invest more than you can afford to lose—and certainly not everything you fricken own.
1703  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blackjack.fun-Most trusted & coolest looking provably fair blackjack in Market on: August 20, 2020, 06:37:37 PM
Great site, just registered today and haven't had any issues with depositing and playing so far.

Do you guys have a rough turnaround time for withdrawals? Looks to pull out some of my winnings for now.

Also, couldn't find any built-in exchange feature for altcoins deposits? Does one exist?
1704  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Akon's cryptocity in senegal could work on: August 20, 2020, 05:58:57 PM
Although I definitely believe that there is a great need for alternative financial solutions in Senegal (and Africa in general), I don't think Akon or his Akoin platform will be the one to achieve it.

Sure, Akon has done a good job of positioning himself as a world-renowned singer-songwriter, but to create an entire god-damn city is another kettle of fish entirely. It costs hundreds of millions, if not billions of dollars—even in Africa.

He says that he's going to market the city as a sort of medical hotspot, to prompt medical tourism from local regions and countries, but it takes a god damn long time to set up these facilities and then establish them as leaders in the field. It's going to take a long time before this is anywhere close to viable.

Also, paying everybody in Akoin? What is he going to do when the currency absolutely tanks, just like every cryptocurrencies at some point—and he has to deal with a mass exodus of doctors and other employees? I doubt the city will even be completed.
1705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VR online casino games take gambling to the new level 🚀 on: August 20, 2020, 05:39:54 PM
You've written an entire article about VR gambling, but are you actually planning to offer VR games yourself at Bitcasino?

I think it's difficult to do so for crypto casinos, since you'll be effectively targeting a niche of a niche (crypto users that also gamble with VR headsets).

Can't imagine it would be economical to develope your own VR solution, unless there's some sort of Plug-n-play provider out there? Is there?!

1706  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - Casino & Sportsbook - Lamborghini Giveaway! 🚀 🎰 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🥊 🎲 on: August 20, 2020, 04:30:11 PM
Is Stake currently working on any player-vs-player or skill-based games?

Everything on the site that I can see is currently based on luck, or pseduo-skill based... if I'm not mistaken.

What's with the lack of PvP?

1707  Economy / Economics / Re: Lithuania President gifted crypto to Estonian President. on: August 20, 2020, 01:21:44 PM
Definitely a nice thing to see.

Both Lithuania and Estonia have put in a great deal of time, money, and effort to position themselves as global hotspots for blockchain talent and startups.

I think that these two countries, along with Switzerland (Zug in particular) are going to reap the rewards of being early on the blockchain race, and should see their investments pay off in a droves in the near future.

If only we could see US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping do something similar  Grin
1708  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Migration of Millionaires. Can Bitcoin change this scenario? on: August 20, 2020, 11:17:31 AM
Very interesting infographic, strange to see such a gigantic exodus of millionaires from Turkey in particular—must be due to the incredibly high levels of government corruption there.

Still, even with China loosing 15,000 millionaires per year (I assume the infographic is measuring outflow by year), that's an incredibly tiny fraction of its millionaire-base. I doubt it is adversely affecting the country that much, and since it doesn't show how many new millionaires it gained, it's hard to see if it is net negative.

I don't know why people are heading to America. As far as I'm concerned, the country is on its last legs and is practically a third world country with first world problems. I mean, no universal healthcare?! People dying because they can't afford their damn insulin and anti-cancer medications? That doesn't sound like the greatest country in the world to me.
1709  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ: We are seeing ATH in terms of system traffic. Higher than Dec 2017 on: August 19, 2020, 10:45:48 PM
Is that in relative or absolute terms?

I've seen CZ state on numerous occasions that the Binance matching system and front end servers have been upgraded to handle more load.

Presumably this increased bandwidth stacks up over time, so unless there has been a truly dramatic increase in usage, Binance should still be able to handle the load.

Either way, I don't think network traffic is a guaranteed indicator of a bull market, as load also increases during bearish sell-offs too.
1710  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto.Games ⭐ 0.8% House Edge on Dice ⭐ Largest wagering contest...ever ⭐ on: August 19, 2020, 10:13:11 PM

Some juicy wins on the high roller board today.

Special congratulations to howlingmad, who won almost 5 LTC from a 0.009 LTC bet!

Remember guys, Crypto.Games is more than just dice! Minesweeper and Video Poker are also great fun!
1711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to Buy Bitcoin Cheaper on: August 19, 2020, 02:56:26 PM
I think you'll find that P2P exchanges, e.g. LocalBitcoins, LocalEthereum etc, almost always tend to sell Bitcoin/Ethereum at a premium.

The only way you can realistically get Bitcoin at cheaper than market rates is under the following conditions;

1. Purchasing it from a dubious source, e.g. people trying to sell stolen Bitcoin quickly or get rid of tainted coins
2. Purchase in massive bulk OTC—a max discount of 1-2% is the best you can hope for here.
3. Purchasing forward contracts from a Bitcoin miner—but then you take on the volatility risk.

Other than these ways, there aren't many other ways (unless you count trading on leverage as buying Bitcoin for cheap.)
1712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Good news on: August 19, 2020, 01:43:25 PM
Besides the obvious increase in value for popular digital assets, I think the Bitcoin bull market can be observed based on the following trends.

1. Are miners selling their gains or holding? Since the influx of new bitcoins onto the market is one of the main drivers of sell orders, miners holding their winnings for longer can be an indication of bullish sentiment.
2. What are the crypto funds doing? Are they doubling down on Bitcoin or are they diversifying into altcoins? These whales tend to have access to insights and market analysis tools that your average joe doesn't, and can hence make better decisions about what to do.
3. How slow and steady is the growth? If slow and interrupted by periods of consolidation—then perfect! If sudden, volatile, and prone to reversals—this could easily be caused by market manipulation (bull trap?)

Right now, the hash rate indicates they're looking to accumulate—hence we are almost certianly in a bull rally.
1713  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 60+ Billion Bets | 113+ BTC Jackpot! on: August 19, 2020, 12:01:54 PM
I see the opening post says that Primedice is the undisputed number 1 Bitcoin gambling site...

What metric is this measuring, and do you have the data to back this up?

I am pretty sure that a lot of dice sites would have somewhat of an argument to make about this.
1714  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoEarn(.)com - What would you turn it into? on: August 19, 2020, 11:22:30 AM
That's an incredible domain you've got there, I am 100% sure you'd get over $100,000 for it at the very least from the right buyer.

But if you're well-heeled enough to not be swayed by such offers, then you've probably got the capital to develop it into something much more profitable in the long run.

Personally, I'd start by using it to advertise affiliate and referral links to practically every earning opportunity there is;

1. Casinos
2. Exchanges
3. Lending platforms
4. DeFi
5. Hardware and software referrals

Once you've built up enough clout, you can then laucnh your own version of something like Coinbase Earn, where clients pay you to advertise their token and reward customers for learning about it.
1715  Economy / Economics / Re: Fixed amount vs. infinite coins on: August 19, 2020, 09:48:39 AM
A lot of cryptocurrency holders, particularly those that have recently entered the industry, mistakenly believe that a coin with a fixed total and/or circulating supply stands a better chance of appreciating in value, due to nothing more than the potential for scarcity to occur.

However, they often neglect to consider that these coins usually lack any reason to be highly sought after, other than the fact that they might appreciate in value, such as due to real-world utility etc.

Some projects have tried to force scarcity by making people lock up their tokens in staking, thereby reducing the circulating supply and driving up the value. And while this has worked for many projects, it is false growth, and it will come crashing down when the market turns sour (and these PoS coins will be among the worst hit).

This is why Bitcoin's growth has been so slow and steady. Because it is gradually achieving adoption and being added to more exchanges, and accepted by more merchants and vendors. Few altcoins can boast such growth.
1716  Economy / Gambling / Re: best 3D open world casinos? on: August 19, 2020, 09:29:33 AM
There's isn't many to choose from unfortunately—especially if you're only interested in ones that accept cryptocurrencies.

https://www.reddit.com/r/decentraland/comments/czd40d/decentraland_gets_its_first_casino_and_slot/

Back in 2019, A casino opened up in Decentraland, and you could get around it and play various games in VR.

There's also a virtual pokerstars game for VR, but it's not that openworld (you can only get around various tables in a single casino space).
1717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is SegWit and LN adoption still low today? on: August 19, 2020, 08:18:46 AM
I don't think I'd call most transactions being SegWit low adoption lol.

For the lightning network, growth has been slow, that's for sure. I think it's simply because of the difficulties of running a node and understanding how lightning channels and pools work.

There also isn't really any major retailers that accept lightning, and only a few exchanges accept lightning deposits—and this is still one of the main reasons why anybody would be sending BTC, to trade it on an exchange.

Until we see more places accept lightning deposits, growth will continue to stagnate.
1718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OKEx suffered the loss of $5.6 million of the recent attack on ETC network. on: August 19, 2020, 07:47:09 AM
Lmao, why does anybody still use Ethereum Classic?

This thing has been attacked more times than practically any other blockchain I know of.

If it isn't even decentralized enough to keep user money safe, then why on earth is it still being built on or have value?

Good time to short ETC, it's only down from here. Several attacks this year is too much to overcome, especially given that it has no marketing team lol.
1719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why You Think That Your Coin/Token Will Grow? on: August 18, 2020, 10:59:16 PM
I'm currently looking to get involved in OpenPredict (OPT).

It has an impressive DeFi use case that essentially allows anybody to make a prediction about anything, quickly launch a smart contract to take on counter bettors, which will automatically pay out the correct share of the pool to the correct predictors. It can also be used to hedge against black swan events, and profit from practically any other event.

Besides potentially disrupting the DeFi space, it just sold out its $250k allocation like it was nothing, and will be launching with a $100k god damn market up. $100k in the DeFi space is just bonkers. even if it does a x50, it would still only have a $5 million market cap.

Bear in mind that many other DeFi projects have market caps in excess of 50 million... Which means a 500x multiplier is well within the realm of possibility. What do you guys think?
1720  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin reach to $100K ? on: August 14, 2020, 10:18:00 PM
There's a good change it will reach $50 to $100k within the next five years or so.

This would be roughly a 600% improvement over its current value.

Even if it does, you can bet that a bunch of small to mid-cap coins achieved a much higher return. If absolute profitability is your main concern, why bother with large cap coins?

Unless you're trying to balance both risk and reward, I'd only keep around 50% of my funds in BTC, and go big with some promising low cap alts.
