may i ask the difference between this thread and the moderated one?
This thread used to house CfA who is a sub-human moron that was making any normal conversation impossible. We had to move to a moderated one bug only his posts get deleted so there is no censorship or anything.

.... Did you install Java 8?
That did the trick, i had jdk1.7.0_60 and jdk1.8.0_11 installed. In the system environment variables it was still running jdk1.7.0_60. Now it works thanks.Still not working same error log. At least i can do this http://localhost:7890/chain/last-block but the ncc gui isnt working. It always shows 56% than it shuts down. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Do you use anti-virus protection: which one? Maybe turning it off while installation goes on can help. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Edit: By the way, do you have any kind of adblock, anti java scrypt or anything like this as firefox extensions? Nis is running, ncc always shutting down with boot strapping not possible. I disabled my anti virus (didnt help). I got nem to run now on another machine. Still dont know whats the cause. That same problem was fixed one page back. Check if Java 8 is installed and being used. Iam the same user... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I'll direct a core dev to your problem. In the meantime please open a commandline and enter "java -version" (without the quotes) and post what you see.

I'm for XEM as well. I know it would only be a superficial change for exchanges, but I actually prefer the sound of XEM over NEM! ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) You guys do realise this would only be for exchanges right ? We wouldn't actually rename NEM.

dont be mad at me... 10 more pages now about this flag bull?
Logo vote please. There is no reason for such a delay so an popular logo reign as the official logo (interim or not). Oh wait the vote is here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=668434.0Now i am waiting for someone to claim why the vote is rigged toward a no name, no connection, non frequent poster designer. There is a reason. The desginer that made the oh so beloved "cube logo" is working on a branding which will obviously also include a logo. We should wait for that before voting on anything. Branding package is built on a certain logo. How can a branding package being developed without a final logo in place? my question is which logo does he use to develop the branding package ? possibly that tommoe ..... ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) He's making a new one.

Please all don't quote the reply. This forum is not about facism. Looks like we have fallen into his trap to display the banner title for one page!
@xtester, please delete this whole page!
I don't agree with this approach at all. Yeah. For once I have to agree with ARGpentem.

note to everyone: check post history of this user. track record is entirely posts like these so please dont rise to this attempt to splinter the community over the logo again which has been forgotten about. Speaking of which, did they decide this was the final and official logo? no. Like I said a thousand times - it's interim.

Any new news as to when Nem will launch?
Open Beta release - estimate August Official launch - TBA V1 blockchain completion - TBA Note that NEM is planned to be distributed during open beta (bitcoin is still in beta btw). This is sounds great! where did you take this info? (sorry, I was busy last few weeks) Cheers This has been communicated (I think tentatively but unsure) about 1,5 months ago. Any update regarding one-click-install alpha? Should be coming this week but don't hate me if it doesn't ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

1. Unlabel all groups of 2 people without questioning. If anybody wanted to make puppets he wouldn't stop with just one and would make at least 5-10. Also there is absolutely not any chance to prove that 2 account are puppets, not family/friends/roommates. 2. Check IPs of groups of 3 people. Unlabel everybody with Tor/Corporate/Education IPs. 3. Take a closer look on groups of 4-5 people with Tor IPs. If they didn't sign up to 4-5 accounts in a raw within few minutes unlabel them also. 4. PM all other people and ask them to explain how come they have the same IP as people in their groups. 5. See how it goes and think what to do.
If devs have more evidences than IPs we need to take them into consideration of course.
I think this is a solid strategy. Obviously there were people with huge groups of puppets (Koop mentioned one guy with 45). Those are the ones that we definitely want gone out of Node, not two people who state they are friends/partners/roomates. @ hypersire how come this strategy became unsolid and you voted for elimination every single person? I didn't vote for the elimination of anybody, quite the opposite. I chose sustained because in all the cases, it is clear those people are all coming from the same IP so the possibility is always there that it really is only one person. It was the correct call to flag them. The devs had already planned to give one stake to these cases where there were two users involved. I let them know that my vote is that it is ok to give 2 stakes to one IP if people post their case in this thread. There really are very few of those cases so it is simply not worth spending time, energy and hurt feelings over it. For example, the two guys who posted with the sock puppets - I see nothing wrong with giving them 2 stakes. So bottom line, NOBODY WILL BE ROBBED OF THEIR STAKES! One stake per IP is guaranteed, possibly 2. I am personally OK with 2 since there are so few cases but that decision is up to the devs in the end. The sock puppet removal was a huge success as it found one guy with 45 and others with tens of sock puppets. Those are the kind of people that need to be removed, not two people who claim to live together! But in the document you voted "sustain" which means you agree with devs and all these people should lose their stakes. That doesn't make any sense. My sustain votes are all to sustain the people and their stakes. If sustain really means take away their stakes then this couldn't have been set-up any more confusing. wtf ? Just saw that the options have now been changed. Geezz....

As I received a private invitation to the NRM project core discussion I decided to actually read what this coin is all about: NOTHING [/b] I would love seeing the "DNS" system where the URI entries actually expire eventually. I would love an automated way to determine the "fees". But ultimately there is absolutely nothing NXT can offer than a "make rich quick scam" to some individuals through a promise of "fair distribution" These developers should focus their efforts implementing stuff for Bitcoin and not a new coin. Stop reinventing the already rotating wheel -_-! Or actually get the freaking distribution right. Nxt did ipo, they did ipo, how on earth is their distribution even any different? My "personal" judgement is NXT is a get rich quick scam through a promise of exponentially growing appreciation of value for the coin. A "new generation" pump and dump scam coin if you might say so. There is absolutely no need to start a new one when even the "future" planned features would work for Bitcoin existing chain (Except the DNS [expiring] entries), For any NXT developer reading this. For god sake if that is the case name your price and start a crowdfunding time frame. Make the feature and give it to the Bitcoin community. Get your money and move on. Here you got the money and you made the feature, WITHOUT REINVENTING THE WHEEL Stop the bullshit hypocrisy or your NXT guys will look like fools. If any of your alt. coin developers want my btc, you are better working for it. Innovation is good, competition is good but claiming you are the one chain and others re-inventing the wheel is the most idiotic. I am so not a NXT guy. I am just rooting for the cryptoscene as a whole. So when did changing some variables prior to compiling some code become "innovation"? There is not even a different IPO method just different IPO audience! Competition is not good when they are all using the same car. Imagine NASCAR with same car manufacturer and model and even color, Pretty fierce awesome racing you got there right? Wow what a "competition" How are you a hero member ? You've spent so much time on this forum yet you're still acting like you just registered yesteray. Did you even take 5 minutes to read up on NEM ? Changing some variables ? NEM is written from scratch. Not a single line of code is being taken from NXT. You see, if you want to hate something at least get your facts straight.

"I had another idea that we could have the protocol reward all unclaimed interest at each block to the winner of the minting process." Sorry but I am very much against this. If someone is not minting, it's their choice but it doesn't mean someone else should get it. These coins should never be created. It puts the person not minting at disadvantage. It doesn't feel right imo.
edit: just read the discussion: "PoS reward is a zero sum game. If everyone is generating stake, their slice of the pie remains unchanged. Only if you fail to mint are you punished and wealth is transferred towards those who do. Therefore it almost isn’t even a reward unless others fail to do it."
This is a very bad idea. You want to force people to mint while they don't want to. It's a way to demotivate people to spend their coins.
At 1.5%, it doesn't motivate me to mint. I open coin wallets with larger stakes (50% +) on a daily basis, but don't do that with lower staking coins. There is so much competition in the Cryptocurrencies now that I think low % coins must be losing out. The more high staking currencies there are, the lower the hash rates of low stake coins will go. Maybe i undertstood somethin wrong but if the stakes are higher that means that more coins are coming into existance which in return devaluates the coins i.e. makes the coins worth less which means it's about the same as having a low % stake.

Guys, could someone please post a link on Nem sockpuppets list. We're auditing Node stakeholders and would definitely could use Nem list. I've got Nem public auditing thread bookmarked, but can't find results. Doesn't exist anymore. UP took all lists down.
