I'm looking for multiple knowledgeable bit coiners whom know PHP enough to use classes and activate functions within those classes and also know how to set up cronjobs on w/e operating system you are running. You should know how to import .sql mysql scripts those are only requirements for this system

Basically I want you to test my BitcoinRetail-Lite software and PM me or email me some screen shots of the software working on your computer.

What needs to be tested is the cronjobs and the invoicing.
The software is aimed to be designed to get running with out little documentation.
I'll let you figure it out how to use the software on your own and then you can let me know what parts was most confusing about it.

Currently the software you can and should work fine when doing the following
*Create an invoice and output a Bitcoin address each invoice created will require a total amount in BTC value to be associated with the invoice
*Easily integrate the cronjob functions in to current existing php cronjobs script(or use the example by itself/standalone)
The cronjobs should scan the Bitcoin client for the total overall amount of bit coins ever received at that address and then update that amount into the Mysql database

Requirements for job completion
*a screen shot of mysql table with the invoice created
*a screen shot of mysql table with the invoice updated (after the cronjobs have been executed)
*any code you used/added
*Any suggestions/improvements

Payout: 1.5BTC
Estimated Time to complete task: 20 minutes

1746  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / GLBSE great job but... on: October 19, 2011, 12:34:12 AM
We need a more intuitive interface as well as a youtube videos with clearer audio as the current ones are almost in-comprehensible there is an a sine wave in the back ground that's telling me to go into meditation mode I can't sign contracts when my mind is programmed to meditate when I hear loud oscillating constant noises.....

How about a step by step tutorial with screen shots and pictures that would be a great start. This way I don't have to back track on the video to find out what I did wrong on step. Litterly took me 4 hours to get the thing signed. I don't know if i did it correct yet, we'll find out in a couple of minutes

1750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A copy and paste I use after luring somebody into Bitcoins over Facebook convo on: October 17, 2011, 08:59:53 PM
This is what I use when I'm chatting on Facebook statuses after I've lured them into a Bitcoin conversation and how they work I used it like twice but before i use it more would anyone say there is anything misleading(mind you this is for a general purpose any age group so everyone can understand)? I'll usually paste this after they always ask "How do you fill up your Gas? or get your groceries?" I'd like to note this is a very common question I get when I talk about Bitcoins to people whom have never heard of it.

Only problem with that copy/paste is it's way to long for the average internet searchers.
A better tl;dr version would be:

Quote
"I made over $30,000 last month with Bitcoins."

They'll be doing researches on their own shortly after. Cheesy

By far the best response yet... Awesome.
1751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A copy and paste I use after luring somebody into Bitcoins over Facebook convo on: October 17, 2011, 04:07:22 PM

Think about it when you buy with a credit card not only are you forced to typing in your living address you are forced to give out your credit card number. This is a huge deal because the unfortunate thing about credit/debit cards is that once some one has acquired the number by means of hacking a merchants website it is over they can charge it up until hits the negatives.

Bitcoins however they use encryption methods that will only allow ONLY the owner of the said Bitcoins to be spent and no one else.

1]Your account can never reach the negatives

2]It cost only $0.001 to send funds to another person (paypal is 3% + $2 and bank wire transfers are $10 minimum)

3]It takes only 10 minutes at the most to send any amount of Bitcoins across the globe(Banks statements wont show up on your on-line bill for up to 3 days and if its over $5,000 they may hold your funds for up to 10 days until it clears)

PM if you need help with anything

Edited for time constraints and lessen the amount of information put on the person at once, while still leaving important points that would maybe make one do a google search to know more.

I think I shall be using "BitcoinPorns" rewrite instead its a lot easier to get the information in a short amount of time. Only if there was a was to Inject high amount of information into people within seconds.....
1754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A copy and paste I use after luring somebody into Bitcoins over Facebook convo on: October 17, 2011, 12:55:53 PM
You actually think that is a "Closing" pitch?

#2 Tone it down

# 3 Huh WTF, What do bank statements online have to do with sending money? BTW BOA, Wells Fargo, Citi and almost all banks update in real time in 2011. This was true about 5 years ago.

#4 Delete, it's confusing to someone who doesn't understand bitcoins and/or how inflation works.

People aren't interested in 3 minute videos, proven fact is 1:03 secs for a product, maximum.

Just trying to help, nothing personal intended.

~BCX~

Thanks for your insight but your forgetting about weekends mate Wink. Sometimes my bank(one you have listed) won't post my debit/credit statements for up to 2.5 days and if i remember correctly statements are completely frozen on Sundays.
1755  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Create a game that accepts Bitcoin for currency on: October 17, 2011, 12:21:43 PM
I cannot do anything tech side, maybe use that stupid RPG maker, but if anyone takes this on, I'd enjoy throwing ideas toward a Bitcoin based story where the main enemies are trolls.   Incorporate all the exchanges being attacked.  I don't want to spoil the storyline too much here, but the 'hero' though saving the exchanges may not need them in the end, that twist would be for all the heavy btc politics groups lol.  There is a love story with a girl who exchanges cam images online for btc.  And death story too.  Alt coins will be in the game, but in name only.  Lot of material to work with here, I would play a Bitcoin game if it had Bill Cosby in it Wink

Wow..... I couldn't have said it any better.  Cool

Basically what we need for a Bitcoin game that reflects everything we've seen in the past year from creation of the Bitcoin all the way to all the haxks on to where we are now with teh trolls.

Bitcoins aren't meant to replace any other currency(Bitcoins isn't technically not a currency its more like a store of value or bartering value). Bitcoins should however be used to prevent identity theft when purchasing things on line.

Here are some other reasons why it is use full

1]Your account can never reach the negatives

2]It cost only $0.001 to send funds to another person(with paypal it is 3% + $2 and bank wire transfers are $10 minimum)

3]It takes only 10 minutes at the most to send any amount of Bitcoins across the globe(Banks statements wont show up on your on-line bill for up to 3 days and if its over $5,000 they may hold your funds for up to 10 days until it clears how inconvenient!!!)

4]You can not have more then 21 million Bitcoins into existence so its like gold and the idea is that the value will always slowly increase(but that increase is just a theory until proven).

If you read this far your probubly still interested on how this all "really" works well here is a very good instructional video made by a dedicated bit coin enthusiast(not me) the video is like 3 minutes long FIGHT IDENTITY THEFT!

A browser based HTML5+Ajax+Jquery would be very interesting to see such project as its very possible I've seen a few done and I know they can be improved as far as game play goes and it would be over 9000 times better to make it incorporate Bitcoins.
