Why do payment processors even consider adding coins not in the top 10 market cap? Do you really expect much business from a coin that has a market cap $200k or less? I don't get it.

Traded coins does not mean they are used to buy things, which is the point of his site. People are just voting for the coins they trade the most, not the ones they actually use for purchases

I understand that. But my point is a coin with larger market cap is not only traded more, but more likely to be spent. Not talking about scientific certainty here, just likelihoods.

Why don't payment processors just keep track of # of transactions. Then over time, eliminate the coins that ppl don't transact with?

That's what he did, but people had a shit fit that their favorite was removed even though they weren't using it

Are the stats viewable somewhere? I would be surprised if a coin like PPC was not among most used

Stick with coins in the top ten.

Multi Cryptocoin Payments has just opened a new poll asking which coins users want them to support. They say they will support 5 or 6 of these and PPC is currently tied for 7th place in the poll.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=286120.0

I don't understand why payment processors are even considering other coins with such low market caps. What is the point?

No USD wires except the priority 5% manually processed wires are leaving gox.
Anyone know how the minimum amount required to qualify for manual processing?

Obviously the whales aren't having any problem moving fiat in and out.

Maybe this whale is MtGox. :-)
LOL Thought of that myself.

Maybe someone should start a thread/poll about the identity of the whale(s) who have carried this recent rise. I've seen lots of speculation.

Let's see. We could start with:

Winklevoss
Paypal
Rothschild
MtGox
Uncle Sam
Google
Walsoraj
etc

The list goes on...

Look at Ask Sum before August 2012 and April 2013 crashes:

Still plenty of room for a spike UP  Cool

Yea, but ask sum below 50k is risky territory. I don't doubt possibility of rapid price spike up, but a mega crash will surely follow.

There is a strong correlation between number of people twerking and btc price. It is safe to assume causation at this point, imo.

Since the series contains a lot of information you can determine causation through finding a time-shifted correlation peak.

Gox leads Google Trend.

This has been long established.

some of your posts are perplexing. Are you a time-traveler? If so, what year are you from?

Yeah, I'm from 2011... We had all these conversations back then.

You are traveling the wrong way, fool.

I've crossbred a penguin with a horse if it helps

It only makes the relevant equations more complicated.

This has been talked to death. $/BTC leads Google Trends.

If you beat a horse long enough, it will eventually come back to life. Seen this many times.

Have you tested it—mathematically.

Cross correlation analysis is not that complicated.

I can divide by zero and don't need to test anything mathematically. Thanks.

I can multiply by zero and make everything equally meaningless.

That makes no sense. This is not an acknowledgement of your ability.

Leave the horse alone.

Maybe our users are not aware of what products/services are available through Coin Payments, looks like pr0d1gy decided to delist XPM and PPC from Coin Payments for now.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=285619.0

I feel having support of the first multi-currency payment processor is important, not just for our sake, but also for a healthy competitive currency market in general. So please let Coin Payments know that our community is really active and interested in using their service, so hopefully they can reconsider this unfortunate decision to desupport two of the most innovative currencies both in the top ten market cap ranking.

You can leave your feedback in the above thread or PM pr0d1gy.

Sunny,

I've lost interest in this payment processor. Why bother when they would even consider dumping two of the most innovative and popular coins for a boatload of other copycat/scam-coins? Some of the coins they support have less than 1/10th the market cap of PPC. WTF are they thinking!? IMO, dealing with them is a waste of time and energy.
1755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PPC] PPCoin Released! - First Long-Term Energy-Efficient Crypto-Currency on: September 01, 2013, 08:30:35 PM
I'm wondering if BTC-e is maintaining a low fractional reserve ratio of PPC because yesterday I tried to withdraw PPC from BTC-e and only got 60% of what I asked for. The transactions all showed as completed in my account history so I opened a ticket with support asking that they process the withdrawals and they credited PPC back to my account. Today I tried to withdraw the remaining 40% and received an additional 10%, with the remaining 30% showing as a completed withdrawals in my account history but there is no trace of them on the blockchain.

This makes me suspicious that BTC-e doesn't have the PPC available and is employing a low fractional reserve ratio on PPC. Given their known interest in the PPC competitor Novacoin I wouldn't be surprised if they are doing this to increase the PPC supply beyond what exists on the blockchain to depress the price.

Have any of you had trouble withdrawing PPC from BTC-e? I'd love a response from BTC-e as well about whether they only maintain a fractional reserve of PPC and other coins.

I've had countless issues with BTC-e, including disconnects when trying to sell coins before a dump. I think the owners of that exchange work with the pumpers/dumpers and alert "VIP" persons (scammers) when to dump.

Something is wrong when you drop two of the top coins by one of the most active, innovative and trusted developers in cryptocurrencies.

This^

Also, PPC and XPM are both in the top 10 market cap. http://coinmarketcap.com/

Why the hell you would remove two of the most popular and innovative coins is very puzzling.

Unicredit (or its subsidiaries) are as far from going belly up as most other big European banks, in other words: not very likely to do so in the near future.

BWHAHAHAHA LOLMFAO AHAHAHA. omg. lol.

Thanks for that.
