What's the NEXT?
Without having concerns of utilizing my time and worries from some real pains, I would pursue the following plans.
Of course, the past talks should not be in vain. I need to pick up where I left.

My vision on the future:
# v1.4 or v1.5:
The significantly important step towards this coin's life - making MAGI "m-" (mobile) mineable, or to get rid of big miners (I know some people hate what I said, or believe MAGI is doomed to fail in this line). Basically, a likely success could be achieved by going through all of the followings:
* A very sharp difficulty adjustment algorithm
* PoW algo (I am very skeptical now)
* Bridging the PoW and PoS: mining encouraging phase and aggressive mining phase (TBD).
* Revisiting PoS-II; I'd name the new PoS protocol as "mPoS" (no big change, sort of improvemets). How mPoS is advantageous over the other PoS mechanisms is to be determined.
I need significant amount of time to research the feasibility and implementation. Okay, I am originally a research guy, so I'd push out some writings that will make us clear of what we are doing, fine? in a reasonable way, good enough, anything else? things like that. Frankly, I am still picking up the block chain and in the process of get a real feeling of HOW people believe the block chain thing is something a huge invention. I got to be into it.
# v1.6: Merging on latest bitcoin code base.
# v1.7: Greatly improved GUI interface with MAGI's own features; e.g., the PoW & PoS mining in the same wallet
# v1.8: Standing on the solid implementation of monetary system and staking, I intend to pursue developing blockchain applications; something for reals, and get new techs into the coin or blockchain.
And we'd put into thoughts on what happens and approaches to be taken once PoW is done. Obviously, PoS is the one we have, need something else.
In any cases, right now these are just talk-talk ideas. You should not commit until you see they come to true.
Anyway. Let's see.

I would love to, but according to my schedule for the following week, ill be very busy too. I hope someone from the community step up and volunteer to organize this Signature Campaign Idea for XMG. This will promote XMG to other thread of Bitcointalk.org.
And this is THE problem with XMG. So many good thoughts so little time. The only way to save XMG from going to 100 sat would be a well paid team with good programmers and marketing guys. Otherwise I assume the end will come very soon, because the coin will be removed from all exchanges. But with a marketcap of nearly 50.000 there will be no money for a well paid team. Well, end is WE GAVE IT UP. come on guys more community than lot 200k marketcap coins and a active dev if u dont give up he dont give up who dont stop fighting can not lose he can only die and thats the way to valhalla a classic win - win situation  Right Cryptonit. Hi guys, I volunteered to manage the Signature Campaign, though it still in planning stage, if the team approved it then we will start to have the Signature Campaign Design Contest, and after the winner is chosen, will proceed to the campaign itself. I want to make clear that it is still in the planning stage and need to be discussed. The plan is to create another thread once the plan is approved and all the details are set to not hinder / cover any upgrade the Dev wanted to announce here.
Sounds great - My design skills are not great - but I'll be happy to contribute. I look forward to seeing your design if this plan push thru , i hope lots will participate so we have range of design to choose from. I'll be proposing only 1 winner and then make a pick of 3 random consolation winner from this contest , participant will be rewarded too for their effort but the bounty is yet to be decided. Sounds like a nice idea! I will take care of the fund for this. Reminder Magi has also facebook campaign running. Like @coinmagi on facebook and add walletaddress there!! |

Someone just voluntered to manage the signature campaign. I don't see see XMG going that low. If you'd recall, at this moment DEV Joe is working on an update. and well if the Sig campaign is effective it will help in attracting more people into this coin.
Good news, I'm sure the sig campaign and new improvements will help. I'd be happy to join. Currently Magi is worth 1181sat which is worth $0.0089, so is still within its normal USD trading range. Obviously its falling against BTC, most alt coins are - My Bytecoin holdings have fared much worse for example. If the current bitcoin price is a bubble and about to burst then then now is a very good buying opportunity (however there is not a huge amount of coin on the market at a low price, which makes me think a lot of people are holding out). If BTC is going to rise further, then not and probably a good time to sell. If BTC has stabilised, then Magi is around average USD value then maybe its a good to hold. Think you are right amigo. Btc will be stable soon and maybe drop again in value. Magi has done very nice during this period. Nice and stable. When the value of btc goes down Magi's value will raise. With the dev working very hard on new developments and wallets and coming campaigns Magi will be a very good currency for investing at the moment. We all know Magi is a long-term investment. Although I understand people who are hoping things will go little faster, I know patience will be rewarded! |

Think hè is waiting for the new wallet release for more donations. But I think it will be cool. I wish I could launch more campaigns but simply miss the time for all that. Would the DEV of Magicoin be interested in adding the coin to a staking pool that is in development and almost ready for launch? Maybe even contributing some coins to get it started? This staking pool website will be different then other previous sites that have tried and failed to run a staking site. The users will be in control of the coins they invest in the pool because they will have access to the private keys. This way the site owner cannot run off with all the coins and the users can trust the site owner. Early adopters to Magi coin will have a good opportunity to actually earn coins from stake rewards without having to purchase large volumes. There will also be a faucet available so technically a user of the site could start earning coins and stake rewards with no initial investment. There will be many other POS coins available on the site for the same purpose. I think it will be a huge success and be beneficial to POS coins in general.
Giving access to the the Private key does'nt means that the DEV can't transfer all the coins and run away. Sorry to be negative, but in crypto world I've learnt the hard way to NOT TRUST ANYBODY, even myself. I maybe willing to try your pool, but we will see what really the site will be. Good luck... Yeah you are right about that but I just think its a new way to do it that might make users feel a little bit more easy about storing their coins in the online wallet. I think we will be launching the site in about a week so I will post the link when we launch if you want to give it a shot or support it in any way you can. Thanks for your honest opinion. http://imgur.com/7n1fvXqI must admit I'm surprised looking at this chart, I didn't know Magi lost so much value compared to BTC in the last year. I really hope thats about to change and we finally move up from here. Looking forwards to new wallet and new improvements. Most Alt coins are following a similar trend - some worse, as a lot of people are selling their alts to invest in BTC - Magi is keeping stable to USD around $0.008 to $0.01 which is good under the market conditions, so as the BTC/USD value is rising XMG/USD is falling, however, from observing the transactions on poliniex over the last few days I think most of the people that were selling large stocks of XMG to invest into BTC have already sold out, and there are not so many buy orders within the $0.008 to $0.01 range, so maybe the price to USD will start to rise a little increasing the market cap as there may be more demand than supply (market cap is at a pretty high level and approx 25% higher than market was at the start of the year, average figure over a month is highest in a long time). I guess we'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks... As BTC price surges,all alt coins are dropping. The only major coins just about keeping up with BTC are ETC, LTC, DOGE and XMR most others are dropping by 15-20%, BTC has increased by 20%, so actually market cap of most alts is up. Check the 7d history of the following two links for comparison. Although that's mostly due to the BTC rally overnight So value is little up. Last week it was $ 0.008 Thats nice. So whatever btc does Magi stays nice and stable! |

Thanks a lot. Can you describe the changes? From looking at the commits: - Added lightsplasher's total balance display
- Fixed automatic wallet update notifications
- Migrated to LevelDB for transaction storage
- Updated checks for PoS blocks
- Updated checkpoint syncing, hopefully eliminating the "checkpoint too old" bug
- Added automatic coin stack merging/splitting (as far as I can tell)
